'The Kids Next Door only fight evil adults!' - Moral Motto of the KND, 7th Generation

--

Numbuh 555 sat pondering her current situation and surroundings. Her senses were fast paced, barely processing really. Currently registering the smell of smoke in the air, which usually would be from her father's smoking habits, but not this time. This time it was from the smoking barrel of her B.O.T.T.L.E.R. *

*(KID NEXT DOOR'S B.O.T.T.L.E.R. - Big Old Totally Tremendous Laser Ejection Rifle - )*

Her nerves seemed a bit frazzled, she placed a blurple-berry sucker in her mouth and began nibbling. The sweet taste brought joy and relief to her. Relief, that's what she needed. It was an uneasy day for her as a whole.

Less than two hours ago, she had just graduated as a full fledged member of the Kids Next Door, the fighting force against Adult tyranny. She spent a good, long while training for this day. Frazzled on the first day? Expected.

She placed the B.O.T.T.L.E.R on the floor, walking towards a wall mirror. Starting at her reflection. Her right eye bruised, her face red with tears and her clothes somewhat torn. None of which were the signs of evil she spent years training for.

She was expecting Spank-happy vampires, a fiery authoritarian, employers with space ships or even a teen with a laser. Those she had trained for. But the KND didn't prepare her for this.

She looked over to the corner, giving a thousand yard stare. A fallen man slumped over, face turned into a charred hole. Red stained floor, clashed with the foamed liquid spilt from the can that he dropped. The sight made her want to hurl.

'No, you stay and get me another drink!' His last words echo within her mind, shaking her to her core.

Numbuh 555 figured the best safe place may as well be the tree house. She has a lot to tell her Sector leader, perhaps inform Supreme Leader to update the training. That and she simply wanted to leave. All very good reasons.

She headed for the door, making for the way out. But before she could took that final step out the door, she turned her head, feeling like something was needed. Needing to said, even if not heard.

"Sorry Dad, but the Kids Next Door fights evil adults."

And with that, she left closing the door on both the house and bad memories.
