Evening Dravenites ( not sure why I'm saying evening, its only 2 24PM here :P). Anyway today we're diving into the world of…Bakugan, the gateway anime of the late 2000s. So a bit of background info:
This takes place 10 years after the end of Gundalian invaders, now I haven't finished the season yet so please excuse the AU stuff.
This has no connection to the first bakugan fanfic I did back on my old account, like at all.
Another reason I say this is AU is because there is no reference to mechtanium surge in anyway.
Other than that, I'm done with the intro, enjoy!
It was a quiet day in the private gardens of the Marukura skyscraper.
The morning sun was blocked by a stray whisp of a cloud, creating a light beam that shone into the distance.
In the garden itself, a huge tent-like structure had been erected. Under it, hundreds of chairs set up for the special occasion. They were each covered with a light lilac silk sheet and a long green faded carpet led from the back entrance towards the front end. Where it stopped was where a wooden platform had been erected. Behind it was a white wire arch with limelight hydrangeas as well as white roses decorated within the wire's gapes.
Right now a momentous occasion was underway, the wedding of Shun Kazami and Alice Gehabich. To be honest, most people had assumed it would've been Dan and Runo getting married first, however they had tried being a couple and it did not work out, at all.
Shun had proposed to Alice in a strange way, after a victory in Bakugan Interspace against Ren and Linehalt, he had arranged for the scoreboard to show a close up of him on one knee with a ring in his hand. Sure to some it was have seemed odd but to Alice it was the best he way he could've proposed.
Right now he was facing her with Hawktor, Dan, Marucho, Jake, Ren and Ace next to him. Each of the brawlers were wearing ties the same color of the attribute they battled with.
Shun's best man however was not entirely thrilled to be there. Not because he was bitter, but rather because the woman he loved was there; Fabia Sheen. Dan had been trying to avoid her the whole morning before the ceremony, which was hard considering he was her escort and the fact that she was a maid of honor.
'' Do you Shun Quill Kazami, take Alice to be your lawfully wedded wife, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health?''
'' I do?''
'' And do you Alice Mia Gehabich take Shun to be your lawfully wedded husband, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health?''
'' I do.''
'' Then by the power vested in me by the city of Bayview and by , I officially pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.''
Kato, who had been officiated for the occasion, was shedding a tear as the two children he had once known officially became wed. The rest of the guests burst into a thunderous applause.
Dan however managed a forced smile with a bit of genuine happiness. Shun was his best friend so of course he'd be happy for him. However he was still a bit sad that Fabia was there. The reason of course being that we was hopelessly in love with her.
The reason being that she made him happy. She was sarcastic, smart, gorgeous and cared for the bakugan as much as he did, potentially to an even greater degree.
The only reason he hadn't asked her out was because she was kinda…engaged. After Gundalia and Neathia had become allies again, as a show of unity and peace, Prime minister Nurzak and Queen Serena had arranged for Fabia and Ren to be married, as they were the bravest of their respective countries' brawlers.
Fabia herself did love Ren but more in a brother-sister way than a '' settle down at the coast'' kind of way.
Dan had heard this through a voice call with Fabia when he was playing a round of Killer Instinct. The shock had caused him to lose and subsequently go quiet for about 3 minutes.

The reception was held in a large hall at the Marukura residence, it easily accompanied the entire wedding party with enough space for two more.
Right now, Dan was walking towards the bar whilst other guests mingled.
A burly older man smirked at Dan as he sat down on one of the stools. His nametag read : BOB. '' What'll it be?''
'' Got anything for a guy whose at a wedding with the girl of his dreams whose engaged to some other guy as a show of unity between two previously at war planets?''
'' Yep, right here'' Bob turned around and once he turned back round again he had in his hand a martini glass full of a red-orange liquid with a single cocktail olive in it.
'' Wait, my situation is common enough that there's a specific drink for it?'' Dan asked.
'' Yep, its called booze. This here's my specialty. I call it a Red Dragon, its Jamaican rum, cranberry juice, an olive and something else.''
'' Which is?''
'' A secret.''
Just then a red sphere popped out of Dan's blazer pocket. '' Dan, are you sure drinking will solve this, perhaps speaking to a professional will help?''
'' Eh, this should work just as well Drago, bottoms up'' Dan chugged the entire drink and then winced in pain. Perhaps it was called a Red Dragon was because it felt like one had been hit by one?
'' Gah! Wow this is strong, hey I'm supposed to be escorting Fabia, hold on'' Dan got up hastily and walked towards the table Fabia was sitting at.
She had her navy blue hair tied back into a pony tail and was wearing a lilac-colored dress with tourmaline earrings. Next to her was Ren who was sipping a glass of Merlot.
'' Hey Fabia, its * hiccup * introduction time'' Dan said, the drunkenness obvious in his voice.
'' Hey Dan, yep, c'mon babe, we're up'' Fabia got up happily along with Ren. The trio then waited for themselves to be announced.
Shun's grandfather took the mic and began to MC.
'' Ahem, ladies and gentlemen please welcome... the maid of honor Mira Fermin and her escort Ace Grit'' the pair ran in, Mira trying not to trip on her dress. The pair formed the first part of the tunnel that Shun and Alice would run through.
'' Next up is Runo Misako and her escort Marucho Marukura!''
'' Julie Makamoto and her escort Jake Valerie!''
'' Ren Krawler and his escort Keith Fermin.''
'' Finally Fabia Sheen and her escort Daniel Kuso!'' surprisingly this got the most applause.
Soon came in the newly betrothed who were then pelted with rice again. The first being when they were going down the runner. Alice still had some grain in her hair and dress whilst Shun looked as if he had bad dandruff.
'' And for the first time Alice and Shun Kazami !'' Baron yelled into his headset.
This was soon followed by the pair's first dance to the sound of the song You look so beautiful in white by Westlife.
As the song played, Dan saw Fabia in a corner, she didn't look happy, more bored than anything else. Ren however was jumping up and down in glee, slightly showing that he was a bit dipsy.
Dan however had sobered up enough to realize that Fabia needed a friend to talk to.
'' Not sure how Neathian weddings usually work but on Earth people are happy'' Dan joked.
'' Eh, I'd have chosen a better song'' Fabia quipped back.
Dan chuckled. The bluenette could always make him laugh. '' You look sad, something up?''
Fabia looked at her fiancée, he seemed to enthralled to hear her.
'' Promise you won't tell?'' Fabia squinted.
'' Brawler's honor.''
Fabia rubbed her arm before speaking. '' I, I don't want to get married, well to be more accurate, I don't want to get married to Ren.''
Dan tried to hide his excitement. '' Oh? Why?''
'' Look Ren's a great guy and all but I think of him as more of an older brother than anything else. I get that Nurzak and my sister want to show the repaired foreign relations more than anything but I just don't want to be given to a guy who I just don't feel the same way about ya know?''
Yes! I have a shot! Dan thought. '' Huh, Y-yeah I get that, but how're you gonna break the news to Nurzak and Serena?''
'' Hmm, not sure. Oh their playing my favorite song, c'mon'' Fabia said grabbing his arm.
'' I don't know'' Dan said.
'' What? Have you never danced at a wedding before?''
'' I've never danced with a girl before.''
'' What? No way.''
'' Honest, I would've but the pandemic kinda killed my prom.''
'' Well here's your first'' Fabia dragged him onto the dance floor.
The song that was playing was Endlessly by The Cab.
There's a shop down the street

'' Ok put your hands on my waist'' Fabia said.
Dan obeyed.
'' That's not my waist Kuso'' Fabia smirked.
'' O-oh sorry, how's this?'' Dan said raising his hands a bit.
'' Better.''

As the pair went back and forth Dan couldn't help but picture Fabia in a wedding gown, she looked amazing in his fantasy, even more so than usual, it was as if this was fate.

Fabia looked at Dan, she felt something, something she hadn't felt before, it was love, not a crush. This was love, she could feel it. I mean sure he was cute and probably the bravest human she'd ever met before. Yep, she liked him.

Ren had stopped partying and had looked at his fiancée and friend. He knew what he was seeing. He felt as if he should be furious, on the verge of assault but instead he didn't feel it.
Linehalt popped out of his pocket.
'' Something's wrong Ren, what is it?''
'' Linehalt, I should be furious but I'm not, I'm relieved.''
'' Hmm, sounds like you don't want to be Fabia's future husband to me.''
'' What? Of course I do, Gundalia needs to be welcomed back into the GUFON ( Galactic United Federation of Nations )!''
'' Very well then'' Linehalt retreated into Ren's pocket.

Fabia and Dan let go of each other hastily.
Alice and Shun however were still watching. They were supposed to be off to Bora Bora but they saw something interesting.
'' You think they know it yet?'' Alice asked.
'' Only time will tell'' Shun smirked.
