"The City of Townsville! A great place to show off your special talents, and for this occasion, we'll be taking a look at the Townsville Theater, where they're holding an annual talent show!"
Inside the theater, Princess Morbucks had just finished a lengthy dance sequence that she had come up with on her own. By this point, she was exhausted from doing the several turns, twirls and steps making up a majority of the sequence; in fact, so exhausted that she was sweating harder than a platypus sweating milk.
"So...", Morbucks said as she panted. "How did I do? Did I blow away every single one of your minds?".
The three judges, who didn't really find anything interesting in Morbucks' dance as she made no attempt to spice it up other than turning, twirling and stepping, stole glances at one another and decided to give her her final score; 2-2-2.
"WHAT?!", Morbucks exclaimed with fury at this negative reception. "I've worked many weeks to perform this special dance, and the best you could do is give me a score of 2-2-2?! Oooohhh... this isn't fair! THIS! ISN'T! FAIR!", continued Morbucks as she stomped on the ground on her last three words, then left the stage in a huff.
The Powerpuff Girls were seated amongst the audience as they witnessed Morbucks' rage quit, and reacted with a slight hint of cringe. Seated next to them were their male counterparts, The Rowdyruff Boys, and seated in the back were the girls' teacher, Ms. Keane, and their creator/father, Professor Utonium. They too cringed a bit at the rich girl's tantrum.
"Gee, what's Morbucks' problem?", Buttercup stated to her sisters as she folded her arms. "She's even more spoiled than rotten food infested with mice and cockroaches". "Well, it's no surprise why the judges gave her a low score", Blossom added, agreeing with her raven-haired, green-clad sister. "Maybe she should've taken more dancing classes", Bubbles said. "Or maybe the judges just don't like her that much", Boomer stated. "She puts all of the other spoiled brats to shame". "Heh, I bet that sissy of a princess can't even recite Hamlet well!", Brick joked dryly as Butch also jokingly added, "Yeah, or even balance a beach ball on her nose!", only to get a hostile response from an offended Morbucks back in the audience, who yelled out, "I heard that!".
Just then, the Mayor of Townsville, who happened to be hosting the talent show, came up onto the stage and approached the microphone, which was appropriately short enough for him to speak into. He grabbed the microphone and proudly announced, "And now, all you wonderful folks, it is with great honor to introduce our next participants, The Powerpuff Girls!". Everyone in the theater proceeded to let out uproarious applause...
...except for Princess Morbucks, who angrily bellowed out, "The Powerpuff Girls!? Why, it's always those Powerpuff jerks! Always getting more approval than me!", she continued as she brought out little plushes of the girls which she strangled like Homer Simpson strangling Bart.
Blossom, on the other hand, took the announcement well as she knew that she and her sisters, along with the boys and the two adults, would get up onto the stage and let out the best of a performance as they could. "Hey, we're on! Come on, guys, let's get a move on!", Blossom called out to the others as they got up from their seats and went into the backstage area. Boomer, however, remained in his seat as he slurped his stubby hand, combed his blonde hair with it and fluffed it appreciatively, wanting to look as good as possible for the show. "Boomer!", Blossom cried out to the blue Rowdyruff, who then left his seat and rushed after the group, calling out, "Wait for me!".
Princess Morbucks just seethed with more rage as she muttered to herself, "There's no way those freaky, bug-eyed weirdos will be upstaging me!". Wanting praise for a performance was one of the many desires that made up her spoiled, bratty nature.
Meanwhile, the girls, boys and adults stood behind the curtains as they anticipated their performance. "This is it, everybody.", Blossom informed the others. "This is the moment of truth, so we gotta give it all we got and make it big and loud!". Bringing out her hand, the red-bowed kindergartener then said, "Now, let's do this!", as her sisters put their hands on hers as well, followed by the Rowdyruffs, Ms. Keane and the Professor, symbolizing their teamwork.
Princess Morbucks continued to pout in her seat as Blossom emerged from the curtains and walked onto the stage, announcing, "Thank you for coming to this talent show, everybody. We would like to present to you a performance of a song called "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"!". Turning to her right side, Blossom signaled, "Hit it, Bubbles!", and with that, the curtains rose up to reveal Bubbles doing a short solo on a saxophone.
"Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, if you would be so kind...", Blossom started to sing as she reached out to the audience from left to right. Princess Morbucks let out an unhappy "Hmph!" during this.
"Got someone very special here, she's 'bout to speak her mind...", Blossom continued as she directed the attention of the audience to a spotlight cast onto the curtains. Then suddenly, Buttercup emerged from them as she made her way onto the stage.
"I got a song to sing...", Buttercup began to sing, attracting some pleasure from Blossom.
"If you don't like my song, I'm gonna sing it anyhow!", Buttercup carried on as she walked along the stage for a while.
"I got a dream in my heart...". As Buttercup sang this, Princess Morbucks batted her eyes left to right, making sure that nobody had at least one eye on her, then, with a sneaky, scheming look on her face, slipped out of her seat and snuck away.
"Nothing's gonna stop us now!", Blossom and Buttercup finished, unaware that Princess Morbucks has gone out of her seat to do something... shady.
And yes, Princess Morbucks had just enacted a plan to ruin the Powerpuffs' performance out of pure jealousy. She entered the control booth, chuckled evilly at the massive amount of controls within it and tiptoed near the switch for the curtain as she flipped it up with a flick of her finger. Sure enough, this caused the curtain to go up again, revealing Professor Utonium playing a grand piano.
"Take 4 and 20 blackbirds, and bake 'em in a pie", Blossom and Buttercup sang as they waltzed together near the Professor, while the audience let out an amazed, collective "Ooooohhhh...!". Princess Morbucks peeked out behind some curtains, surprised that her first attempt was an epic fail.
"Before you put it in the oven, man, you know they're gonna fly", finished the two sisters as they jumped from the Professor's piano, up against some stage lighting instruments and back onto the stage, with Blossom adding, "And I'll get ya". Morbucks growled like an angry dog as she went back into the control booth to make another sabotage attempt.
"Say curiosity killed the cat? I'm living proof that that's a li-i-i-i-i-i-i-e!", Blossom sang, her bow jumping off from her head from the high note. Back in the control booth, Morbucks pulled another switch, hoping that it would do something to ruin the show. Instead, it activated a series of lights behind the two Powerpuffs which rendered them as silhouettes.
"Now I'm gonna tell you why!", finished the two sisters as they pointed to each other. Morbucks recoiled in surprise from this unwanted enhancement as one of her eyes twitched.
"Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now!", sang Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, followed by the Rowdyruff Boys, and then Ms. Keane and Professor Utonium, with Brick taking off his cap as they finished.
"Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now!". Meanwhile, Princess Morbucks climbed up a ladder, detaching several colored light bulbs beside it and gathering them in a box. Going onto a catwalk, she then glimpsed sneakily at Blossom and Buttercup as they prepared to sing the next stanza, but not before the former added some "bum"'s.
"If I wanna dance, I'll dance", Buttercup sang as she jumped and twirled away from Blossom, the latter adding "She'll dance!". Seizing her moment, Morbucks then got some of the light bulbs and tossed them down at the duo, hoping to hit at least one of them.
"Just as long as the law will allow", Buttercup continued as she and Blossom twirled around and dodged the falling bulbs, which let out tiny, colored explosions as they collided and broke with the stage. As they did, Blossom added, "Ho ho ho ho!". This impressed the audience even more. Morbucks then resorted to dumping the entire box of bulbs on the girls.
"Dance and sing all night long, 'cause nothing's gonna stop us now!", finished Blossom and Buttercup as they waltzed and dodged the rest of the falling bulbs. Preparing for the next stanza, the Powerpuffs, Rowdyruffs and adults then put their feet down forward and turned back and forth while clapping their hands.
"Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now!". Determined to sabotage her enemies' performance, Princess tried to pull out a heavy cork covering the smoke machine, but when she did, she was sent flying across the stage as smoke appeared wonderfully around the group. She then slammed into a wall, flattening herself into a coin-like shape, then sprouted her limbs and tiptoed away for her next attempt.
"Look for me when there's the smell of danger", Brick began to sing in a surprisingly good baritone voice as he took off his baseball cap, twirled it around in his hand and tossed it away. Behind him, a hook from above lowered next to him.
"The smell of danger is my middle name", Brick continued as the hook, which was being controlled by Princess Morbucks, caught him by the back of his shirt and swung him above the audience. Morbucks attempted to crank up the hook, but ended up losing control and spun around the crank, safely lowering the long-haired boy back onto the stage.
"I've been very quiet, but I've got a lot to say, believe me!", Brick finished during this and was then pushed out of the way by his brothers, Boomer and Butch.
"You ain't goin' with us, then stay out of our way!", sang the two boys as Boomer carried Butch with one hand, spun him around and tossed him away, where he flew past Ms. Keane holding a pair of tambourines.
"I've been knocked down, cracked down, locked down, shot down, held down, fell down every time!", Ms. Keane sang as she danced and shook the tambourines while Princess Morbucks pressed rapidly at some controls in the control booth, filling the stage with a series of colorful and abstract light displays.
"Push back, push back, you got a contract? When you got yours, you musta got mine!", Ms. Keane finished as the boys and girls emerged behind her and shook their hands.
"Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us!". During this, Princess Morbucks whacked the control panel with a monkey wrench, but apparently, this proved to be a stupid mistake as she got electrocuted and sent flying and bouncing around the control booth, before getting caught on a rope and slowly descending. The background then changed to Venice at nighttime.
"I got a feeling inside... it's sister love, without a doubt", Buttercup sang as she and Blossom held hands while Bubbles and the Rowdyruff Boys rowed a gondola prop, appropriately dressed like gondoliers.
"Oh, I got someone I'm crazy about!", Blossom sang as Brick added some singing of his own as accompaniment.
"Nothing's gonna stop us now!", the entire group sang as they came together.
"Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us. nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us. nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us!", the group came close to finishing their performance, and by this point, Morbucks is beginning to lose her patience and saw a massive switch above, appropriately labeled the "Granddaddy of All Switches". Seeing this as her last resort, Morbucks smiled wickedly as she made her way up to the giant switch, triggering some other switches that enhanced the show and amazed the audience as she did so. When she finally made it to the switch, she tried with all of her might to flip it down.
"No, no no, no no, nothing's gonna stop us... now!", Buttercup finally finished the song as Morbucks managed to flip the Granddaddy of All Switches and cackled maniacally, hoping that it would bring down the Powerpuffs this time. But unfortunately for her, all it did was bring in three cannons, the Statue of Liberty, fireworks and rockets, one of which had Brick standing on them. Princess Morbucks could only witness the entire thing in clear shock as the cannons pointed forward and shot confetti in front of the audience, causing the roof of the theater to be blown upwards a bit. This also caused Princess Morbucks to lose her balance as she stumbled backwards onto a lift and fell down in it, while the stage returned to normal as the curtains fell while everyone posed in the grandest manner possible. Blossom sung a few more notes for good measure.
At first, the audience was speechless for a moment. Their clothes and hair had trails of soot rising from them from the blast of the cannons and they had big, toothy grins on their faces, with one audience member's teeth even shattering like a broken window... then they rose up from their seats to give the Powerpuffs, Rowdyruffs and two adults their well-deserved standing ovation. Even though they were slightly exhausted, their big show was worth it as the Mayor and Miss Bellum clapped for them too. Even the judges were so blown away by the spectacular show that they gave the group a perfect 10-10-10.
However, this was not over yet for Princess Morbucks, as she emerged from a trapdoor in the center of the stage, looking really roughed up and battered, and her anger has increased from her many failed attempts to ruin their big performance. Seething with fury once more, the young villainess staggered towards the Powerpuff Girls and grabbed Blossom by her dress, bringing her close to her face as she exclaimed, "You...! You took what could've been a big moment away from me! I sabotaged that stupid show of yours just to make you feel my rejection, but you're still resilient! All that applause and praise should've been mine! Mine, I tell you!". Morbucks' fury then devolved into sadness as she fell down to her knees and started sobbing, adding "But nobody appreciates my talent... nobody...".
Blossom actually felt bad for Morbucks here, despite the fact that she was usually an evil spoiled brat. Picking up her statement that she tried to sabotage the show, she found out that it was her doing those unwanted special effects that embellished their big performance, and for someone as unpleasant as Morbucks, they weren't half bad.
Putting a hand on Morbucks' shoulder, Blossom said, "You did show what your special talent was, Morbucks". "Wh-what is it, Blossom...?", sniffled Morbucks as she wiped her tears, curious to know what kind of "special talent" she exhibited. "Pulling off some of the most wonderful effects in theater history", Blossom answered sincerely. "And for that very reason, we'll give you a special credit". "Really...?", questioned Morbucks again, with Blossom replying back, "Really". "Not bad for a spoiled princess!", Buttercup exclaimed with all honesty. "I agree!", Bubbles added.
The audience, and even the Mayor, was so touched by this sweet moment from Blossom to Princess Morbucks that they gave the performers another round of applause. Helping Morbucks up, Blossom and her then bowed to the audience along with her sisters, the boys and the adults.
"So once again, the day is saved, thanks to... The Powerpuff Girls! And for the first time, Princess Morbucks!"
The End.
