Shepard had just gotten done talking to Admiral Hackett through the vid comm about the council's response to the reapers attacking Earth. She set the Normandy's course for Palaven's moon before she decided to walk around the ship and talk to her crew and friends; somehow, she found her way into main battery. She got a sudden, brief image flashback of Garrus standing at the console, and she lowered her head with a sigh. She missed Garrus. She missed hearing his voice, and his jokes that always made her laugh, no matter how miserable she was feeling. She missed the way he looked at her, the way his hand felt holding hers, the feeling of his mouth plates against her lips as they traded sweet kisses... and especially missed the way he made her feel as they were intertwined together in bed, each taking the other to the heights of ecstasy.
Shepard let out a long, frustrated groan as she ran her hands down her face and the back of her head hit the wall. Dammit, she missed Garrus!
Suddenly, Joker's voice came on over the intercom, "Hey Shepard. What are you doing in the main battery?" She could practically see the smirk on his face. "Missing your turian boyfriend?"
Shepard glared at where she knew the camera was since she knew Joker was watching her over the surveillance feed. "Highly inappropriate to bring up your C. O's relationship while on active duty, Joker."
"Oh? It's inappropriate for me to bring up your relationship after you two made it publicly known by fucking in the cargo hold and broadcasting the audio for everyone to hear?"
Shepard's face flushed red at his teasing reminder of what happened after the collector base. She didn't know that she'd pressed the button that started broadcasting the audio of their activities to the whole ship. She wouldn't have, either, if Jack hadn't poked fun at her about it later, saying that she didn't know that Shepard's voice could go that high, even while having an orgasm. She cleared her throat and pulled herself together, "Did you need something, Joker?"
"Oh, yeah!" He said, remembering the reason he'd really contacted her. "We are about ten minutes out from Palaven."
'Time to get back to work again, then...' She thought tiredly but stood up straight and stretched out her neck. "Roger that, Joker. Tell Liara and James to suit up and meet me down in the cargo bay."
"You got it, Commander. And who knows? Maybe you'll get to see Garrus while you're down there." He then hung up on his side of the comm.
'I can only hope.' She thought to herself with another sigh before heading down to the cargo bay.
A while later, down on Palaven's moon of Manae, Shepard returned to the military outpost after fixing the comm tower. "What have you got?" She asked as she walked over to the general and put her gun away.
"As your partner said, succession is usually simple, but right now, the heirarchy's in chaos. So many dead or MIA..."
"I need someone, I don't care who, just so long as they can get us the turian resources we need!" Shepard ordered.
The general went quiet, but the silence was broken by another voice. "I'm on it, Shepard. We'll find you the primarch."
That voice! Shepard would recognize that voice anywhere, but... it couldn't be, could it? She looked over to see none other than Garrus walking towards her, a sniper rifle in hand. "Garrus!" She said, shocked but really happy to see him. After the general had acknowledged him, Shepard took a step forward and hesitantly reached her hand out to touch the scarred side of his face, as if making sure he was really standing there and wasn't just a figure of her imagination. She smiled when he reached his hand up and gripped hers, lightly nuzzling her hand. "It's so good to see you again." She sounded more relieved than anything. She desperately wanted to kiss him, to throw herself completely into his arms and show him just how much she'd missed him; but this was neither the time, nor the place. So, she took a step back reluctantly and cleared her throat, getting herself back into her "commander" mode as she introduced James to Garrus and got on with the reason she was there.
On the shuttle back to the Normandy, Garrus and Shepard stood next to each other as their hands were held together behind their backs, as if trying to pretend their relationship was a secret. Garrus was talking to Liara when Joker's voice suddenly came on through the shuttle's comm. "Do my ears decieve me, or is that really you, Garrus?"
"Miss me, Joker?" Garrus joked.
"Not as much as Shepard did. Man, you should've seen her before we arrived. She was in the main battery, dragging her feet and looking all mopey because you weren't around."
Liara had to slap her hand over her mouth to keep herself from laughing while Garrus looked at Shepard with open amusement. James looked shocked when he connected the dots, but then just seemed to shrug it off. Victus, on the other hand, didn't look surprised or shocked in the least as he just nodded at Garrus approvingly; it's almost like he already knew.
Shepard cleared her thoat and said simply, "Joker, just for that, you are now restricted to decaf for the next week."
Joker was silent for a minute before simply replying, "Hard ass..." And he hung up the comm.
Hey people, I just decided to write this little story because I was bored and in the mood for some humor, and of course, Garrus/Shepard fluff! Can never have too much of that! Anyway, hope you enjoyed! Reviews and constructive critcism are appreciated!
