One particular person sat in a room thinking too much about the children of two particular people. This guy would go rabid over the thought at times; even though he and the people were friends, the guy hated the idea of a super-smart child that was paranoid about the government. He would then begin walking out of the room and into another room, where one of the people was sitting in...
"Whose very bright idea was it to have Tails and the nutcase in a relationship?" the hedgehog known as Maurice "Sonic" Hedges cursed. He knew his best friend Miles "Tails" Prower like the back of his own hand, but the one thing he didn't expect was Tails, an inventor of technology, to begin a relationship with a technophobic conspiracy nut like Sticks the Badger. And a serious one, at that! TAILS! STICKS! LOVING EACH OTHER! It seemed illogical to the blue-coloured hedgehog. Tails's fling with that Zooey Pollersbeck girl was fine, but at least Zooey was the same species as Tails! But it wasn't Sonic's sometimes-obvious speciesism that was the biggest problem. No, at least Zooey didn't believe the government was trying to take her! Not like Sticks! Ugh, even the name was weird. Sticks!
"Can you hear yourself, Sonic!?" Tails retorted, asked and yelled at the same time.. "You wouldn't like it if I said the same about you and your very obvious crush on Amy, wouldn't you?"
"I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON AMY ROSE, TAILS! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR SKULL!" Sonic answered.
"Oh, YEAH? Well, how many times have you blushed over just seeing Amy's picture?" Tails interrogated.
"You're not the KGB, Tails! You have no right to start interrogating me like this!" Sonic yelled. He thought the world was going bonkers. First Tails starts a relationship with someone who's the exact opposite of him, now Tails is interrogating him as if he was a prisoner in Guantánamo Bay?
"The thing is, I love my Sticksy. I know she loves me too." Tails began.
"Alright, Tails, cut the soliloquy." Sonic interrupted.
"How- it's not a soliloquy! I was speaking to you, not to myself or the audience!" Tails retorted.
"Smart-ass." Sonic thought. Then he began going on again. "Don't be all lovey-dovey about Sticks now. She's paranoid, you numpty! And especially considering YOU MAKE TECHNOLOGY, THE VERY THING SHE DOESN'T LIKE, how would you and Sticks being an item make sense?"
"Sonic, according to you, every relationship I'm in where the girl I'm dating isn't a fox makes about as much sense as Fabian Fink being mayor of Hedgehog Village!" Tails accused.
"Not every relationship, Prower, but I have an acceptance level, and you dating Sticks crosses that line!" Sonic yelled.
"Speciesism is, to use one of your terms, "way past uncool", dude." Tails rebutted. As Tails began explaining some stuff about speciesism and Sticks and whatever blah-blah-blah, Sonic kept thinking about how Tails's voice got deeper.
"Have you brainwashed yourself into this, or has Sticks given you Stockholm syndrome?" Sonic asked.
"Oh, will you shut your mouth, Sonic!" Tails yelled, and left. He later walked with a large amount of baggage to Sticks's burrow. Meanwhile, Sonic called over half the village. Knuckles thought Sonic was taking this "break up Tails and Sticks" thing too far. Sonic brought out a large board and began explaining his reasons for why he wanted to break up Tails and Sticks.
At the same time, Tails pondered about Sonic's comments. How dare Sonic say all those things about Sticks!? Admittedly, Sticks might be a bit cuckoo at times, but he still loved her. "Sonic is right!" one part of him thought. "This... is STICKS THE BADGER! SHE'S PARANOID!", it also thought.
Later, Tails would ponder about why an inhabitant of Hedgehog Village had to either walk 5 miles to Badgerville (even then, the food in Badgerville wasn't that good) or catch a bus to Sticken Bay (20 miles away) to have some good food. Suddenly, he realised he'd walked past Sticks's burrow, where he was intending to go. So, with that nervous feeling in his stomach, Tails knocked on the door.
"Tails! I didn't expect you to come today!" Sticks answered. Although her expression would make most think she was surprised and angry, Sticks actually was happy Tails had visited. It had been a while, admittedly.
"Actually, I came here to talk about something." Tails began.
"What is this about, Tailsy?" Sticks asked.
"It's about Sonic. Well, he wants to break us up. That's the truth, Sticksy. Sometimes people are just cuckoo." Tails explained.
"WHAT!?" Sticks yelled. She stomped out of the burrow with the intent to run to wherever Sonic was and give him a good... talking-to? A good maul? Honestly, Sticks wasn't sure whether Sonic deserved to be chewed-out or to be mauled. However, she knew she wanted to do either one of those.
"So, here's the plan to save Tails from that cuckoo badger. We tell Tails that Sticks cheated on him..." Sonic began. "Knuckles, I choose you!"
"Seriously, a Pokémon reference?" one of the villagers moaned.
Sticks walked into Sonic's house, curious about what they were talking about. One of the other villagers pushed Knuckles onto the stand. Knuckles, being an absolute dimwit at times, tripped over a stair and fell onto the ground.
"Once we get that paranoid badger out of the way, it's time to get Tails back with a proper person, and I'm suggesting him and Zooey get back together." Sonic continued.
"How dare you..." Sticks yelled. "You want to lie to Tails that I cheated just so you can get him back with that... that..."
"Ahahahaha, the paranoid badger..."
"I-" This comment caused Sticks and Sonic to fight. Even though Sticks had the advantage of sharp claws, Sonic was obviously faster. Meanwhile, Tails was wandering around Hedgehog Village when he got a call from a random villager about Sticks and Sonic fighting. The twin-tailed fox ran to, and then waltzed into Sonic's house, and then tried to pull Sticks off of Sonic, but by that point Sonic was already hurt to the point where he would have to get to a hospital. Obviously, Tails was a bit disappointed at Sticks for not staying calm, but a part of him thought "he didn't like us being together, let him get his just desserts".
After the fight, Tails and Sticks would eventually walk back to the burrow, where they would discuss a large amount of things, and eventually got to the point where... it would all begin.
