THE FALLEN ONE

Chapter 1

Percy was running. He was running for life with his trusty sword in hand. A volley of silver arrows rained upon him but he just ran faster. Percy was slashing at the trees around him trying to escape the wrath of the gods. Suddenly a bright light erupted and before he stood a huge Eagle sent by Zeus himself to hunt him down. Behind him, he heard the footsteps of the hunters getting closer.

He groaned and threw Riptide into the eagle's face, catching it off guard and running from the side and calling Riptide back to him. The Eagle screeched loudly and flew into the sky away from Percy's sight.

"Fuck." Percy said and ran even faster, trying to spot the eagle in the sky. While he was distracted the Hunters caught up with him.

"Surrender Jackson. Come with us peacefully to the council, So you can be put to trial for your crimes." said the Moon goddess Artemis.

"Oh, really Artemis? Do tell what crimes I have committed?" Percy snapped back at the moon goddess.

Artemis said nothing and just motioned her Hunters to rain fire.

Percy just closed his fist and the arrows stopped mid-air. The arrows snapped like twigs and fell.

Artemis looked surprised but unfazed and took out her hunting knives and pounced at Percy. Percy parried the attack with Riptide.

"You have to do better than that Artemis," Percy growled at her.

Artemis slashed at him and the Hunters fired a volley of arrows at him. Percy went behind a tree and dodged the arrows. Percy came out from behind the tree swiped at the goddess, Artemis parried and threw her knives at him. Percy groaned and fell as a knife pierced his thigh.

Artemis grinned as she took her bow and aimed a blunt arrow to knock him out but a huge screech took her by surprise, giving Percy time to get out of the way.

A tiny spot in the sky appeared and slowly seemed to get bigger. Percy prepared himself knowing what it was.

The giant eagle sent by Zeus was headed straight for him. Percy started to run faster than ever to evade the giant of an Eagle, while Artemis and her Hunters followed him slowly. The Eagle opened its huge Talons and tried to grab Percy's arms.

Percy ducked just in time to dodge the huge talons of the Eagle. Percy quickly climbed up a tree, while the Hunters and Artemis hid behind.

The eagle once again swept through the forest to search for Percy. Percy took this opportunity to jump on the Eagle's back. The Eagle screeched and flew up into the air trying to shake Percy off him, but Percy held on to the eagle's feathers. The eagle screeched in pain and began flying straight. Percy stabilized and took out Riptide from his pocket. Percy muttered something under his breath and stabbed the eagle with all his force. The eagle screeched one last time and fell from the sky.

As Percy fell, lightning flashed around him, trying to kill him. Percy closed his eyes and everything seemed to stop as he stopped falling midair. He willed himself to slowly come down to the land. Everything resumed itself as Percy set foot on the land. He started running the second he touched the ground. He could hear the Hunters closing in on him swiftly.

The storm in the sky became bigger, and the sky rumbled with lightning. Percy stopped dead in his tracks as there was a flash of red light and before him stood The war god Ares in blood-red armour with two axes in both his hands.

"Ares," Percy said curtly.

"Jackson," Ares replied in the same tone and jumped at him with both axes raised.

Percy jumped back and slashed his sword at the war god. Ares parried and slashed with one axe and threw the other at him. Percy groaned in pain as the axe brushed past his stomach, leaving a small cut. Percy glared while Ares grinned in satisfaction. Percy ignored the pain from the godly weapon and stabbed Ares. Ares blocked the attack and slashed at the demigod. Percy ducked and swept at Ares' legs making him stumble. Percy kicked Ares in the stomach and slashed his sword at him. Ares screamed as the sword drew ichor from his veins. Ares' eyes turned blood red as a red aura surrounded him. He slashed at Percy drawing the power of the gods. Percy backflipped to dodge the axe.

"So we're using magic eh?" Percy growled.

The Earth rumbled with the power of the Demigod. The Demigod clenched his fists, the air started swirling around him, the storm above got more powerful, fueled by the demigod's anger and power. Percy roared as he started to float in the air, while a hurricane stood behind him.

Ares stood before the demigod, dumbfounded by the display of power by the Demigod. Percy moved forward and threw the massive Hurricane at the god while slashing at the god. Ares was taken by surprise and weakened by the Hurricane but still managed to block Percy's sword. Precis getting impatient now and wanted to end the fight. Percy backed up and threw his sword at Ares, who managed to duck.

"What was that supposed to do?" Ares asked as laughed. Percy smirked as he held out his hand. The sword came whirling back into his hand.

Ares stood there as the smile on his face vanished, he realised what had happened. He looked down and saw a huge gaping hole in his stomach. Ares fell as he dissolved into golden dust. The dust floated into the sky towards Olympus where Ares would reform.

Percy turned around and growled, "Come out Artemis, I know you're there."

A surprised looking Artemis jumped down from the trees.

"How in Chaos' name did you amass such power?" She asked, drawing notching an arrow.

"The greek world wasn't my only life," Percy answered, getting in a defensive stance.

Artemis let the arrow fly. Percy cut down the arrow in front of him. Artemis drew her hunting knives and pounced at him again. Percy took a step back and slashed, Disarming the goddess in one move and putting Riptide on her neck.

"You may be the best at Archery, but nobody can beat me in hand to hand combat and that is a Fact, Artemis," Percy said.

Percy looked for the Hunters, but couldn't find them anywhere.

"Where are the hunters, Artemis?" Percy asked.

Artemis smiled and said, "Olympus."

Percy growled and swung his sword. Artemis dissolved into golden dust, floating towards Olympus to reform.

Percy groaned. It was going to be a long day.
