1 - Sneaking Around

Jackie sat in a booth at the Hub next to Donna. Fez sat in a chair across from them. Donna was talking about the phone call she'd had with her mother the day before. Jackie was trying to pay attention, but her mind kept wandering back to last night.

She'd spent the night with Steven, at her house. They'd made love for the first time. It had been spectacular.

Michael had never made her feel the way Steven had last night. Just thinking about it sent a warm buzz through her body. Her feelings for him were growing stronger every day, but she couldn't admit them to him. They were just a fling; no commitments and no one who knew about it. Not even Donna.

Who was still talking. "She got really confused when I told her about Casey. She thought I was with Eric this whole time."

"Oh, Midge… She is beautiful, but she is not very good at following conversation," Fez said.

"No," Donna agreed. "It's harder over the phone when she can't see my facial expressions."

"It must be. But, hey, you have that visit with her in July to look forward to," Jackie reminded her.

"Yeah, I do. I am excited about that." Donna pushed her straw in and out of the lid of her drink. "I just wish we had something to do. It's barely been two weeks of summer and I'm already bored."

The door to the Hub slammed open, revealing Michael, with a triumphant grin on his face. "I know how we're gonna spend the weekend!" He pulled over a chair and sat next to Fez. "My sister offered to let me take her cabin near Greasy Lake! It's a couple towns over and we'd have the whole place to ourselves."

"Greasy Lake?" Jackie asked. "Is that why your sister always has greasy hair?"

"No! The lake isn't actually greasy. There's just a big ole tree next to the lake that has grease stains on the bark." Michael shook off Jackie's questions and smiled again. "We can head out tonight, just the six of us. It'll be fun!"

It really could be fun. A couple nights with no parents and a lake cabin all to themselves? That sounded like an unforgettable experience, for better or for worse. And they would be alone, meaning Jackie and Steven could find some time to fool around.

Jackie smiled at the thought of Steven. "You know what, Michael? I'm in."

"I'm in too. I need some time to just have fun," Donna said.

"I am in as well. My host parents keep trying to make me go to church. I'd much rather go swim in a lake of grease," Fez said.

As both Michael and Donna tried to explain that the lake wasn't greasy, Jackie's thoughts drifted back to Steven.

Hyde rolled his eyes as Forman complained about Donna for the billionth time. He still wouldn't admit that turning her down was a mistake. He was bent on believing he was her second choice.

For the most part, Hyde just tuned him out. He kept thinking about the night he'd spent with Jackie.

She was unlike any other girl he'd been with. He knew why, but he wasn't sure he was ready to admit it. To himself or anyone else, least of all Jackie. But keeping it hidden was getting more and more difficult.

He was falling for her. He'd been falling for her since their kiss on Veteran's Day. That was the only reason he'd ended up in a fling with her. Man, that first day…

Four months ago

Hyde sat on the couch in the basement, watching The Price Is Right. Kelso had left about twenty minutes ago. Hyde was glad; he'd been complaining a hell of a lot since Jackie kissed the cheese guy at the mall. Three weeks had passed since he found out.

Jackie had told him outright. She'd sat him down and told him that she kissed someone else. He took it badly and got irrationally pissed. After a few days of his constant complaints and pressure on Jackie to let him cheat on her in return- thus making them "equal"- she broke up with him. And that was that.

The sound of the door opening pulled Hyde from his thoughts. Jackie came in and sat down next to him. "Hi, Steven."

"Hey."

They watched the show in silence for a few minutes, then Jackie sighed loudly. Hyde didn't say anything. A minute later, she sighed again. Hyde rolled his eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Ever since I broke up with Michael, I've just been so bored," she said.

"Go hang out with Donna."

"All she ever talks about is Casey. I need someone new to hang out with. Or someone to make out with."

"Mhm." They watched the show in silence for a couple more minutes. Then Hyde decided to take a chance. "Y'know… If you really want someone to fool around with, I'm down. No commitment, just, uh… a fling."

"I've never had a fling before. But maybe it's time to try something new." Her eyes raked over his body.

They both leaned in until their lips met in a heated kiss. Hyde had been waiting months for another kiss, and it was better than he could've imagined.

They parted after a moment. He knew this was dangerous, considering his feelings for her, but he couldn't help himself. Jackie was hard to forget.

They turned back to each other at the same time, then moved in and began a passionate make out. Jackie's fingers found his hair and Hyde knew that he was absolutely screwed.

"Man, you're not even paying attention," Forman said.

"Hm? Oh, no, I'm not. 'Cause I've heard it all before. You lack variety in your complaints."

Before Forman could respond, Kelso practically fell into the basement, followed by Donna, Fez and Jackie. Hyde made eye contact with Jackie for a few seconds, sending a buzz through his nerves. He forced himself to look at Kelso.

"Guys, my sister is lending us her cabin near Greasy Lake! We get the whole place to ourselves for the weekend. It's gonna be awesome! Especially if we leave tonight, so get packing."

"Is the lake really greasy?" Forman asked.

"No!" Kelso shouted. "God, I wish people would stop asking that."

"We keep asking because it is called Greasy Lake," Fez said. "But I don't care if it's greasy, I will still swim in it."

"The lake's not greasy!" Kelso yelled. He shook it off. "Anyway, go ask your parents, 'cause I want to head out soon. Let's meet in the driveway at eight."

Kelso left, followed by Fez. Donna turned to Jackie. "I can help you pack if you want. I know you probably have a ton of stuff that you're bringing. If you'll help me pack, too, that is."

"Sure! I love sitting on your bed and judging your swimsuits," Jackie said with a grin. "Ooh, we should buy you a bikini! That way, Eric can suffer." She glared at Forman on her last word.

They left the basement swiftly. Forman groaned. "I hope all the stores are closed."

"I hope you get over this soon." Hyde stood up. "Let's go get permission to go swim in a grease lake."

Jackie sat on Donna's bed and watched her pack. They'd already packed Jackie's things and they'd made quick work of it. Then Jackie had scoured her mother's closet and found a brand new bikini for Donna to wear. The stores were all closed and her mom had plenty of unworn clothes, so Jackie gifted it to Donna.

"You really think this'll make Eric… what was it you said? Suffer?" Donna asked, modeling the bikini and looking in the mirror.

"All you've worn before is one-pieces, so yes. He will be tortured by how hot you are and how he can't touch you." Steven would also be tortured, but only for a little while. Jackie would be the peak of hotness in her bikini, but Steven couldn't do anything about it until they were completely alone. That would be torture for Jackie too.

Donna went into her bathroom and changed. When she came out, she said, "Do you know the room situation at this cabin? Like, are we gonna have to share a bed?"

"No offense, but I hope not. You seem like you hog the covers," Jackie said. Plus, sharing a room would make it much harder to sneak out and see Steven.

"Guess we'll find out soon." Donna zipped up her suitcase. "Let's start bringing our stuff to the driveway."

They lugged their bags into the Formans' driveway, where the Vista Cruiser was waiting. Eric and Steven were nowhere in sight. After a couple minutes of waiting, Jackie said, "I'm gonna go see if they're coming or not. You wait here in case they come out."

Donna nodded, so Jackie went inside. She went down to the basement first, going directly to Steven's room. She knocked on the door. "It's Jackie."

He let her in, closing the door behind her. "What's up?"

"Donna and I finished packing and we were wondering where you were." She slipped her hands under his shirt and raked her fingers over his abdomen.

"Took a while to convince Red that we wouldn't be drinking at the cabin," he responded as his hands found her hips.

She giggled. "Are you done packing yet?"

"Just finishing up."

"Did you remember a swimsuit? I packed my best bikinis." She trailed her fingers over the skin above the waist of his pants, just to tease him.

"I did. But I was thinking maybe we could go skinny dipping. Y'know, later at night when the idiots aren't around." His hands traveled up her back, over her shirt, stopping just below her bra.

She hooked her fingers in the waist of his pants and kissed him. It was a heated kiss, releasing the tension they'd built in one another. He pulled her flush against him, causing sparks to fly in her stomach.

He pulled away mid-kiss, making her gasp in indignation. "I have to finish packing," he said. "You're welcome to hang around, though."

"No. I left Donna alone in the driveway. See you in a few minutes." She grazed her lips over his, the ghost of a kiss. She left before he could react. A tease for a tease.

She met up with Donna in the driveway. "So? Are they coming?" Donna asked.

"They're coming, they just took a while to convince Red." She tossed her hair over her shoulder as Michael and Fez ran up to the driveway.

"You gals ready for a weekend of hot fun?" Michael asked, standing just a little too close to Jackie.

Jackie was saved from having to respond by Eric coming out, a backpack slung over his shoulder. "Let's get going before Red changes his mind."

"We're just waiting on Hyde," Donna said.

Steven came up from the basement with his duffel bag. He also had a tinfoil-wrapped plate. "I came prepared."

"I smell brownies!" Fez said excitedly.

"Yep. The special kind of brownies," Steven said. "We'll eat 'em at the cabin. Let's go."

They all filtered into the Vista Cruiser once they got their bags in the trunk. Eric drove, with Fez and Donna in the front beside him. Jackie sat in the back, in between Steven and Michael. "I'm gonna need directions from someone," Eric said.

"Oh, I got it," Michael said. "I'll just direct you as we go."

"Great," Eric said, sarcasm tinging his voice.

"As if I wouldn't bring a map," Donna said. "Just keep going down the main street and then…"

Jackie tuned out Donna's directions and focused on Steven. His legs were spread apart, allowing their thighs to touch without it looking suspicious. She was happy about the contact, but a part of her wished they could touch without hiding it.

"This is gonna be so great!" Michael said. "I mean, we're all single now. We're gonna have so much sex!"

"Kelso, the cabin is in the middle of the woods and we didn't invite anyone else. So unless you're planning on the six of us pairing off, I don't think there's gonna be much… fun stuff," Eric said.

"Ooh, if we are pairing off, I would like to be with Jackie," Fez said, turning to smile at her.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Steven glare at Fez. Fez didn't catch it. She patted Fez's arm. "I would never sleep with you. No offense."

Fez pouted. "Oh, all right." He turned back towards the front windshield.

Michael leaned forward, asking Donna if she would do it with him. Jackie quickly slid her hand over Steven's thigh. His eyes went to her hand immediately. She took her hand away. It was a small, reassuring touch that they could only accomplish with everyone else distracted.

"Take a right up here," Donna said. Jackie hoped that the cabin had some privacy, because she really wanted to get Steven alone.

"Okay," Kelso said, looking around the cabin. They were all standing in the living room. "There are five bedrooms, so two of us have to share."

"Not it!" Hyde, Forman, Jackie and Donna all shouted.

"Dammit!" Kelso said. Fez just shrugged.

"Well, I'm getting to bed. Who would have guessed Forman didn't know his left from right and would end up getting us lost?" Hyde asked. "I can't believe it took us two hours to get here."

"It's 'cause Eric's a dumbass, that's nothing new," Jackie said.

"Glad I have Jackie here to tell me I'm stupid," Forman said.

"You're so lucky to have me around." Jackie patted Forman's shoulder and went upstairs. The rest of them followed her.

They all split off and picked rooms. Jackie chose the last room on the left of the hallway, so Hyde chose the room across from her.

Everyone got settled quickly, tired from the unexpectedly long drive. Hyde dropped his backpack in the corner and changed into pajamas, a white t-shirt and sweatpants. He was tired, but he refused to fall asleep yet. He didn't want to be asleep if Jackie decided to come to his room.

Sure enough, she snuck into his room around eleven. "Hey," she whispered.

"Hey." She closed the door behind her and joined him on the bed. She was wearing a floral nightgown. "Everyone's asleep."

Within seconds, their lips were on each other's. He needed it after the way she'd teased him earlier. And the way he'd teased her. She pulled him on top of her, then smoothed her hands over his chest.

When they eventually parted for longer than a brief pause for air, Jackie said, "I want you so badly."

"Same for you, but everyone's around. We can't do more than makeout."

Jackie looked like she was about to say something, then she kissed him again. He didn't complain. Part of him wished they didn't have to hide, but it would make all of their friends angry in one way or another. Especially Kelso. And Jackie seemed more comfortable this way, so Hyde was fine with it.

But he'd be lying if he said he didn't want more than just a fling with Jackie.
