The last Saturday of August was a special day for Luna and her mother. They'd go find a small Muggle shop and spend the day there. Sometimes they'd go to a bookstore, or sometimes to a florist.
It hadn't been long since the war had ended. Neither of them decided to speak of it. The world was finally in a state of peace; it was best for it to stay that way for as long as possible.
Today was a sunny morning, and Pandora found it as the perfect opportunity to stop by a coffee shop. She decided to simply get a plain espresso. Luna, on the other hand, found something more interesting.
"Mum, look, they sell more of those pumpkin spice things that you used to make!"
"Mummy's Famous Pumpkin Spice Latte," Pandora said with a grin. "I remember, even the Weasleys heard about it and wanted to try one. I'm quite surprised they sell these during this time of year, it's not even October yet. Well, anyway, it's not too expensive. We can get you one if you want,"
Luna nodded and dropped a few more Muggle money coins onto the counter.
The two took a small table next to the window but didn't talk much. Luna mostly stared out the window, watching the people who walked by.
"I remember, when I was in my first year at Hogwarts," Pandora said. "Everyone else wouldn't stop talking about what they wanted to do when they grew up, what wizarding job they wanted to have in the future. Most of them wanted to work for the Ministry, become an Auror, a Healer… I never wanted any of that. Honestly, I just wanted a steady, Muggle job. Something where I didn't have to expect something bad,"
"But you had so much fun making potions," Luna said.
"My mother would always tell me to have a backup plan if something didn't work out," she replied, taking another sip of her drink. "So I did. I always got O's in Potions class. And I enjoyed it,"
"But you dropped it after that so-called dragon pox cure backfired and nearly killed us both," Luna said, drumming her fingernails on the tabletop. "Well, now might be the perfect time to start it up,"
"Come again?"
"The Quibbler's successful, but I've noticed it hasn't been enough to support everyone lately. You could open a coffee shop in the Muggle world, they'd love it. You might have to go to Gringotts more often than usual to exchange Muggle money for Galleons, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Mum, just think of it. You'll finally have a job you love. And… you could make more of Mummy's Famous Pumpkin Spice Latte," Luna picked up her glass as if she was giving a toast.
Pandora beamed.
"Luna… that's a brilliant idea! I never thought of it that way… my mind's always been so wrapped up in what's important rather than what I should be doing. That… that'd be a whole new set of problems, but where should we start?"
"You tell me," Luna smiled, as she whipped out a notebook and a pen. "It's your store, after all,"
