Chapter One: Elodie

Is it possible? I'm back, finally with the sequel to Next Avengers Legacy, Next Avengers Soul World. I posted the first chapter for this the other day but a bunch of coding messed up the chapter. Sorry about that, hopefully it works now! Kkxdd's OC Ravager and Dragon irl 203's OC Elodie are both returning. Tell me what you think about this chapter after you read it. I'd like to thank Valkryie Lokisdottir for giving me an idea for a plot! Thanks so much, and now I'm back on track with a lot of ideas in my head. Enjoy the first chapter!

"You have no idea what you are capable of."

Elodie gasped as she sat up in her bed. She was in the rebuilt Avengers Facility. After the battle in the Arctic, The Next Avengers and the Avengers rebuilt the Avengers Facility in New York, and destroyed Infinity City.

Elodie groaned, rubbing her temples.

She had been having nightmares for a week. Of Thane. Thane kept popping in her dreams, saying,

"You have no idea what you're capable of."

Then he would smirk. Then she would get visions of fire, destruction, and death. Her friends would appear dead on the ground in her dreams. And she was on fire, killing anyone in her path.

Elodie groaned again, not wanting to think of her dreams. Besides, she had a funeral to go to.

"Peter Benjamin Parker, aka the Amazing Spider Man was not just a hero."

Peter's funeral was held in Queens, New York. His body was enclosed in a casket.

At the pulpit, James proudly gave a speech.

"Not only was he a hero, but he was a guardian. He was almost like a father, but most important of all, he was a friend. He was only 17 years old, when he had to protect us from the enemy while raising 5 kids and a baby. And I can't thank him enough."

Morgan, who sat in the front row with Tony Stark aka Iron Man and David Rainer, aka Ravager and started to tear up. David saw this and squeezed her hand.

"My last real conversation with Peter," James continued, "Was something I wish I could time travel back to change."

"I had ignored Peter, even when I should have accepted his advice. I was angry with him, and said some things I shouldn't have. If only he was still alive, I couldn't have asked him for forgiveness, but it's too late. So I've learned not to take people for granted. It should be a lesson for us all. And the only thing I can do for him in return is to carry on his legacy."

After the funeral, Steve Rogers approached his son James.

"You did a great job up there." Steve answered. James nodded. Things would sometimes get awkward between the two since Steve had been dusted for 12 years and had been alive since his resurrection for a few weeks.

"Thanks." James answered.

"Your mom would be proud."

"I know."

"So who's she again?" Steve asked, pointing at Morgan, who was with Tony and Pepper Potts.

"Morgan."

"Ah, yes." Steve answered. Tony and Pepper started to talk to Steve so James and Morgan silently walked away.

"I just can't believe he's gone." Morgan blurted out. "Maybe if I did something else, he would still be alive."

"We're all feeling the same way, Morgan." James answered softly. The two drifted off away from everyone, trudging through the ground. The two sat on a log facing the ocean. Silent tears continued to run down Morgan's face.

"I'm sorry." James blurted out.

"For what?" Morgan asked, wiping her tears.

"Last week, before all this chaos I insulted you and your father." James admitted. It was silent before Morgan answered back.

"I forgive you." She answered. "I forgave you not long after it happened. You were just going through a hard time, and I overreacted."

"No you didn't overreact. I just felt angry…"

"It doesn't matter, James, I forgive you." Morgan answered, looking into his eyes. James froze, and his mind went blank as he stared into blue eyes. Usually his eyes never looked directly into hers, or anyone else, but now…

Morgan leaned over and hugged him. James froze and returned the hug.

The rest of the day went by in a blurr. The next day the Next Avengers were in the briefing room of their new headquarters where they rebuilt the Avengers Facility. Rhodey announced that they were going back to New York City to take down Infinity City and help the economy recover from a second blip.

"Survivors of the blip from different countries have raided the remains of Infinity City." Bruce announced a day after the funeral. We can't let them get their hands on alien tech, otherwise, it means the end of the world."

"Rumors say that foreign countries are going to raid America and take the alien technology to put everyone under their rule."

Toruun slammed her fist on the table.

"How dare they?" Toruun demanded. "They're using America's weakened state to use it to take over. Such cowards move."

"We have to stop everyone from reaching Infinity City. People are selling the alien tech to other countries." Rhodey explained.

"We leave now. The faster, the better." Azari suggested. James, Francis, David, Elodie, Pym, Lila, Azari, Cassie, and James Quill boarded the quinjet with Rocket and Rhodey. Toruun and Bruce stayed behind to activate the quantum tunnel so Toruun could return Mylnoir to it's original time and return the Infinity Stones.

"Where's Morgan?" Cassie asked.

"She said she's not coming." Pym answered. James was worried for Morgan. She hadn't spoken much since the funeral and spent every day in the basement tinkering or building something. James shrugged the thought aside and the plane flew into the air as they got ready. The quinjet landed on the outskirts of Infinity City.

"J.Q, Pym, and Cassie, scout the perimeter." James said. The rest of us, split into two groups of three. Rhodey, we'll need some tech help. So we'll have Lila, Elodie, and I in one group and Francis, David, and Azari in the other. Rocket can come with my group.

"Sounds good."

The Avengers split up and J.Q, Pym, and Cassie took to the skies.

"I bet that once everyone heard that the alien army was dead, they came to take over the place." Pym said. J.Q and Cassie ignored him.

"Cap, I'm getting four heat signatures." J.Q said into his communicator.

"Got it." James answered back. "See who they are."

"It's a bunch of guys in hoods loading alien tech into a semi." Cassie said. The three landed on the ground.

"Halt!" Pym shouted. The men whirled around. They noticed that the men wore black helmets with a skull symbol on it.

"Hey, James-er- Cap! It looks like Hydra agents. I've read the files about them." Cassie said.

"Take 'em down. But don't kill them." James answered. Cassie, Pym, and J.Q landed.

"Hey you! What do you think you're doing?" J.Q demanded the Hydra agents.

"Who are you?" One of them asked.

"Um. We're the Avengers." Pym retorted. "Haven't you heard of us?"

"No."

"How about now?" Cassie backflipped off of the truck she landed on, kicking the first in the face. She shrunk, dodging the second guy's gun. Her other two comrades began to fight when a click sound was heard. A device landed on the ground that glowed purple.

"Dang it!" J.Q shouted. The device exploded, and the three fell to the ground.

James, Elodie, and Lila trudged through the back of Infinity City, running into more Hydra agents.

"Get down!" James shouted. Lila and Elodie dove behind James, and James' shield enlarged and a missile hit his shield exploding. The force of that hit slammed him back and de-charged his shield as it powered down and he was hurled back into the rubble.

"They knew we were coming." Lila hissed.

"Ready, Toruun?"

Toruun stood on the quantum tunnel platform in a white time-travel suit. Hulk, the resurrected Thor and Tony stood around it. In one hand she held Thor of 2014's hammer and a case with the Infinity stones that she would return to their original times.

"Always." Toruun answered.

"When you come back, we'll go to Nidavellir and make your sword." Thor said.

"Ok, father." Toruun said. Her helmet retracted onto her head.

"Going quantum in three...two...one." Hulk said. The quantum tunnel activated and Toruun was whisked back in time.

Bright lights flashed in front of the teenage asgardian as she flew through time. She gripped Thor's hammer tighter as she traveled to 2014. Then something odd happened. Some of the bright lights spread away from each other, revealing a frame coated with black dark energy. Toruun gasped as an image of a man with golden hair and skin appeared. Torrun was pulled away from going to 2014 as she was hurled towards the frame. Torrun panicked. Someone else was behind the man. Torrun pressed a button and traveled back to her time.

"Returning in three..two…"

"Please come back." Thor whispered.

"One."

Toruun reappeared with the hammer and the stones.

"Toruun?" Tony questioned.

Toruun leapt off the platform shaking.

"Toruun what's wrong?" Thor demanded.

"There was a man with golden hair and skin while I was in the quantum realm. He had penetrating bright eyes."

"Who? Did he attack you?" Hulk asked.

"Nay. He seemed to be trying to contact me..through some type of dark magic or energy."

"Dark energy?" Thor questioned. "Only a few people can use dark magic and energy such as Heimdall, Malekith, and Odin himself."

"He wasn't angry. He wanted help with something." Toruun added. She gasped. "There was someone behind him."

"Who?" Thor asked.

"Peter."
