Charmy

Chapter 1: "The Banishment"

"Okay Espio, do your thing and let's get out of here." Vector ordered the chameleon, who was sitting in front of a giant computer with holographic keyboard. The Chaotix were inside the basement of the Hyde's company where it stored the owner's illegal weapon purchases and the plan of murder. They were hired by the Seaside Police Department to investigate Mr. Hyde's real intention since he was suspected of making an illegal deal with a group of gangsters.

They decided to send the Chaotix instead since they can't risk of losing another police members again after the event of stopping Dr. Eggman who was trying to steal a dangerous weapon. The cops ended up getting killed by him but fortunately Sonic came to the rescue.

Espio was busy hacking while Vector was investigating the surroundings just in case of finding something unusual. The youngest member of the team, Charmy, just stayed in the air having no better to do. Lately, he had been tasked at almost every case to stay still and not doing anything which only made him bored but nonetheless, he obeyed the croc's order.

After a few minutes, Charmy had decided that enough is enough so he turned to Vector who was busy looking at the screen.

"Hey, Vec? What should I do?" Charmy asked.

"Didn't I tell you to stay still?" Replied Vector, not bothering to look at the young bee.

"But I have been hovering for minutes! You ordered me to this this almost every case... what's up with that?" Charmy whined. Vector just sighed in response, he never appreciated Charmy's whining.

"Charmy, you need to understand that I'm the leader and I give you orders. So when I order you to stay there, just stay there!" Vector responded, looking at the bee with a stern.

"But can I at least help you guys with something?"

Vector shook his head and turned back to the screen, "I'm afraid I can't do that, kiddo. Now stay there and keep your mouth shut."

Charmy just tutted in annoyance and crossed his arms over his chest. Vector ordering him to do this started to make him feel left out, this also caused him to lose his self-esteem. He wanted to talk to his teammates about this but for some reason, he just bottled up his feelings and stayed silent.

Once Espio successfully hacked the computer, he took out a hard drive and inserted it into the slot then collecting all of his data including his illegal weapon purchases from the black market, his evil plan and such.

"Got the files," Espio announced as he pulled out the hard drive and shut down the computer. Charmy sighed in relief upon hearing it since he was bored.

"Good work, Esp," Vector complimented. "Now let's get out of here and get paid handsomely."

As the Chaotix turned around to escape, they suddenly bumped into three people with guns in their hand, blocking the exit of the basement. A rat, a badger and a muscular rhinoceros.

"Not so fast, detectives. Or should I say, amateurs?" The rat smirked. The other person, a badger, chuckled in response. However, this enraged the crocodile.

"Who do you call amateurs?!" Vector bellowed. "Me and Espio are the best detectives in Mobius!"

Charmy sighed inwardly as he felt left out once again.

The badger raised his eyebrow, "Oh yeah? Mind explaining why do you get caught? Apparently you're not so stealthy, are ya? Especially you, chameleon." He scoffed, looking at the chameleon who seemed irritated at his smugness.

The rat glanced at the bee, "And what exactly is this bee doing here? Is he actually.. y'know, useful? Considering he's just a 6-year-old with no skills.."

The bee felt hurt at his sentence. His hurt expression already satisfied the two mercenaries but Vector and Espio did nothing to defend the bee which only hurt him more.

"I guess this ends now." The badger said, both of them lifted their guns and aimed at the Chaotix but before they could pull the trigger, Espio threw his kunai knives at the guns causing them to drop their guns against their wills.

The rhino suddenly screamed out of anger as he charged himself towards the crocodile, fighting against each other afterwards. The rat and badger, having many experiences of hand-to-hand combat decided to take the chameleon out.

"Charmy!" Vector called out. "You need to show the SPD of the proof and don't let them have it!"

"W-What?" Charmy noticed something flying towards him as he quickly captured it, it was none other than the hard drive. Afterwards, he flew out of the basement and headed to the main entrance to escape. However, the rat wasn't going to let him get away as he immediately went after him.

Charmy already exited the building and left the area. He suddenly heard loud motorcycle engine sounds coming from a distance, he looked behind him only to see the rat riding a motorcycle heading right towards him at high speed. The bee gasped and flew away as fast as possible.

The rat took out a gun and aimed at Charmy, he fired at him but the attempt was unsuccessful when the bullets didn't hit him much to his frustration as he kept on firing.

Not wanting to get hurt and fail sending the proof, Charmy decided to fly to the sky so the mercenary lost his sight but unfortunately, his attempt failed when the rat finally shot him in the back that caused him to let go of the hard drive and scream in pain.

The bee fell onto the ground and went unconscious.

Charmy lifted his eyelids slowly. His vision was blurry and all he could hear was muffling sounds from another room. He felt a soft material on his back as realization hit in, he was in a hospital and his back was covered with bandages.

He heard a loud argument at the outside of the room. He heard a familiar voice accompanied with the unfamiliar one. And soon the other Chaotix members burst into the room without knocking and noticed the young child sitting on the bed looking rather confused. Then, the doctor entered the room.

"Charmy!" Vector exclaimed. "What happened? Did you give the police the hard drive?!"

Charmy blinked, "T-The hard drive?"

"The hard drive," Vector said. "Where's the hard drive, Charmy?!"

"I-I don't remember," Charmy responded, holding his head.

"It's normal to forgot about certain events after being unconscious," the doctor added.

"What do you mean you don't remember?" Vector gritted his teeth and stared daggers at him. "Where's. The. Hard drive?"

Charmy felt nervous as he glanced at Espio, who sighed and placed his hand on his face. The bee realized there's much nothing he could do and admitted, "I.. I lost it."

Vector clenched his hand into a fist in anger but Espio immediately placed his hand on the croc's fist in order to calm him down. It didn't help him but Vector realized that it was not the right time to go berserk. Then, the doctor decided to speak up.

"I think you guys can take him home now," the doctor said in a friendly tone. "Also, your bill."

Vector was angered even more after hearing the word he despised the most but tried as hard as he could to remain calm.

The Chaotix got home and entered their agency. Vector opened the lights and just stood there in silent which made Charmy and Espio nervous. Then, Vector turned around to the young bee and looked at him in pure anger.

"Charmy, do you realize what you done?!" Vector yelled, pointing accusingly at him.

"L-Look, I'm sorry.." Charmy stuttered.

"Sorry doesn't fix anything! You just lost the hard drive that contains proves and you lost it! Now the police won't pay us for our work!" Vector bellowed, his loud, angry voice was loud enough to shatter the whole agency.

"Vector, calm down." Espio said, stepping into the scene.

"No, I will not calm down! This little brat has been nothing but causing troubles whenever we go! That damn rat should have shot him several times so he could just die!"

Espio had decided that enough is enough. That croc had went too far. Charmy was deeply hurt by his cruel statement as his eyes were filled with tears.

"Vector, that's enough!" Espio scolded.

"Enough? Enough?! The only thing I have had enough is Charmy's shenanigans! I can't keep up with his antics again!" Vector argued and turned at the bee. "Charmy, for now on, you're no longer part of this team! I don't wanna see your face, I don't wanna hear your voice and I don't want you in my agency again!"

Tears rolled down from his eyes to his cheeks as he flew out of the agency crying. Espio just watched him disappearing out of sight in disbelief and immediately turned to the croc who still looked angry.

"Vector, are you insane?! He's only six, he can't survive out there all alone!" Espio protested.

Vector turned around to go to his bedroom while saying, "Whatever. That brat deserved it."

Espio just sighed heavily and sat down on the coach, placing his hand on his face. He still couldn't believe that Charmy was exiled from Team Chaotix.
