Chapter One: A Second Chance
Eren swung his fist toward Armin's Colossal Titan with great strength. His face not changing.
How did it come to this? Why did it come to this? Anyone other than a shifter and an Ackermann must've become a titan. Poor Jean and Connie.
Eren then noticed the Ackermanns on top of the Jaws Titan as it looked like they were preparing for an attack.
Eren smiled softly.
Well it had to end one way or another. I guess you were right Mikasa; the world really is cruel. But you and Armin were in mine, which proves that it truly is beautiful as well. Maybe the world will be better off with Armin at the head of Peace negotiations. And you...hopefully you will forget about me; you will be better off without me. Though I have to admit my life would have been a whole lot better with you.
Suddenly he saw Levi stand up, armed with a thunder spear and Mikasa with her signature swords. Levi launched his spear at Eren's mouth and it exploded against his teeth, creating a massive hole from which Mikasa flew into, and as she ran on his tongue, her sword raised, he saw a small smile on her beautiful oriental face and couldn't help but feel feel the same way.
Well this is it. At least YOU'LL be the last thing I'll ever see, Mikasa.

Suddenly, Eren found himself within the Paths Realm once again. The night-desert vibe was what surrounded him. He then turned towards the giant tree shaped light that was known as the Coordinate and saw Ymir standing in front of it with a blank stare that Eren couldn't look away from.
Eren walked closer to her until he was just a few feet away.
When she spoke her mouth remained shut; she couldn't speak without her tongue so it was more telekinetic.
Hello Eren. It would appear as if this is it for you wouldn't you say?
Eren bowed his head in shame.
"Yes."
Ymir glanced to the side.
You can't blame them for wanting to stop you. After all, destroying most of humanity isn't the price they wish to pay for their freedom, and those from Marley only decided to do what's right once they made you do something far worst. However I suppose you view the rest of the world the same way Zeke viewed the people of Paradis; as victims of dishonesty and ignorance. Marley not only lied to the world about Operation Paradis by saying that it was about saving the world, but they also omitted the truth about what King Fritz did too his subjects by erasing their memories of the outside world which in turn would make all of their future descendants victims of circumstance. Many of them were people close to you, like your mother.
Eren snapped his head up to look at her; tears were forming in his eyes.
Perhaps at heart Marley is to blame for all of this. Even after having been told that you had used the power once when you touched Dina Fritz's titan form and didn't even KNOW how or why you had what they were after and that Paradis was oblivious about the world, they still choose to lie to the world to unite them to go after your island, saying that you were their new leader and use you as a Head for the world's number one enemy. Though Reiner can now say that he's saving the world, he also could have prevented most of it from being destroyed. Maybe he was scared of what Marley would do to him and his family if he tried to reveal information about Paradis or perhaps deep down he knew you were the type of person who would destroy the world, but not out of hatred or revenge or some strange urge to prove something that is not worth proving, but for the people you cared about which would make you a better man than he could ever wish to be since his actions were much more atrocious and questionable; even after five years on Paradis and learning the truth, he kept denying it and thought that it was a successful and effective way of making your loved ones' murders an easier task.
She looked back at him.
Overall even if they knew The Rumbling was an empty threat, they should have left Eldia alone to spend the rest of their lives in peace and just stick with the six titan powers they had in their possession. But alas, with time, they became power hungry and realized why the Eldian Empire abused the power of the Titans; had they taken control of all of them, minus the Founding Titan, no one, not even your father, could have stopped Operation Paradis, and most of the Eldian race would most likely have perished. But though they are to blame, in the end, The Rumbling was YOUR choice. Not theirs.
"I know but what was I supposed to do?! I refuse to let Paradis be destroyed just because the world has the sick urge and need for a bloody scapegoat and because Marley was STILL going to try to capture me and use the Founding Titan against their other enemies. I really did want what Armin and Hange were trying to achieve: peace, or at least and alternate solution in which the world left us alone! But no! In the end nothing would have been done! With Historia pregnant, Zeke could not be fed to her and even IF I didn't attack Marley to extract Zeke, there is no way we'd could defend ourselves with only the Colossal and Attack Titan after Willy's speech! Marley would have killed us all and fed me and Armin to their warriors for THEIR selfish and greedy motives and that would be the end of it. Marley would have become what they once hated and feared!"
Perhaps, but everything that has happened up til now was to show you exactly WHAT things can and MUST be changed.
Eren looked up at her confused
"Wait what? What are you saying?"
You think that, because your Attack Titan's future memories came true, the future is STILL set in stone?
B-but it is! I caused the Rumbling! Mikasa's answer was the same! I didn't help that boy! The only thing I didn't see coming was them, rallying against me. And now Mikasa will kill me and everything that wasn't destroyed will go after Paradis. I'm confident that they will be able to try to talk some sense into what's left of humanity but still... it won't change what I've done! I'm despicable! And worst, I convinced you to help me! I'm so sorry Ymir."
Eren began to sob. His hands fisting the sand all around them.
Ymir looked down at him with a blank expression.
Are you saying I'm still a slave?
Eren's eyes widened.
"What..?"
She smiled warmly.
You told me that I'm not a slave, but a person. A human no different than anyone you know. You gave me the choice to listen to your brother, a member of the royal family, or to pursue the end of this story. Ultimately it was MY choice, not my order or some errand to complete. You see Eren, after seeing what Mikasa is willing to do for herself, now can I tell you what you can do to fix things for the better.
"What do you mean?"
You have unlocked the full power of the Founding Titan, but have not realized just in how many ways you can and could have used it.
Eren wiped his eyes.
You have now witnessed the future play out the way it did, with many key events now filling in the gaps of time between all your visions of four years ago. Now you know what should have been done to avoid all this.
She looked at him blankly.
Eren, through these paths, the Founding Titan can see all the Eldian memories of all time, meaning a great amount of memories can also be sent back to an Eldian at any time. And now you can do this to save Paradis, and not destroy the world, but destroy your enemies.
She looked at him seriously.
Eren you now know the key points of the past four years that led to where you are now. First, it was your meeting with Yelena and the Anti-Marlyian Volunteers, the meeting with Hizuru and Paradis rejecting their idea as they only care about profit and their relationship to Mikasa, meeting with Yelena in secret and learning about the Euthanasia Plan, going to Marley in secret, killing Willy Tybur knowing his death will spark action from the world to unite against Paradis, attacking Marley with the intention of pulling Zeke out, Zeke's spinal fluid in the wine, all of it.
But do you know what made all of this happen?
"No. What?"
You didn't share what little visions you saw. Granted, you weren't sure if telling the government what the Attack Titan's power was would cause the future you saw which is somewhat justified, but now you know what happened.
"So what are you saying?"
I will send your memories to your younger self with every important detail to help avoid the need of The Rumbling. When the time is right you will unlock the full power of The Founding Titan and use it to make contact with those outside of Paradis, even if you can't get to Zeke.
"But I can't activate it without a royal blooded Titan! I won't condemn Historia or her future children!"
I understand, but there's something that I feel you forgot to consider Eren. I'm quite shocked you haven't thought of this BEFORE.
"What?"
The Founding Titan, as I'm sure you're aware is very powerful. It can make Colossal Titans that can make three walls, it can turn Eldians into titans, and erase the memories of every Eldian alive with the exception of the Ackermanns. But it can also turn titans back into humans.
"Okay. But what's your point?"
She sighed irritably. Seriously? I practically spoon fed you the answer. Just turn Historia into a titan, touch her, and when your done, turn her back into a human! It won't cause any damage to her at all, plus you don't need to maintain physical contact with her for too long as you were still able to use it after Dina Fritz was killed. She should refrain from getting pregnant anytime soon if you plan to do this though.
Eren's eyes widen
How could I have not have thought of that? Maybe it was risky but still. Now that she said it out loud, I now realized how stupid I was; Only an idiot [Isayama] would have missed that.
"Okay then what should I do?"
Willy Tybur's death was a catalyst for the invasion. He was actually expecting you to kill him while Magath pretended that it was necessary. He was given a report by Reiner about the truth of Paradis and his five years there and kept all that intel top secret even from the man that was really in charge of Marley.
Therefore, when the time is right you must speak to him before he gives his speech to the world. He only wishes for the world to no longer live in fear of the Titans and you must assure him that YOU can make that a reality.
"No. Willy despises his race. He said he wishes for the day Eldians would go extinct and he truly believes that our ancestors sins can't be atoned for. That's nothing but bullshit if you ask me. He agrees with King Fritz."
Nevertheless, he can still prove himself useful to you. Keep that in mind.
Eren nodded firmly.
I also suggest you get Annie on your side. Though the Government may want to pass her power on, you can convince them that she is not loyal to Marley, and that she only did what she did to get back to her father. Additionally, Reiner and Bertoldt coerced her to capture you by threatening her. To make this believable, alter her memories so that she thinks this happened. Only Reiner would know that it's a lie.
Eren nodded at her. "Alright."
Also...I think it's safe to say that you were an idiot when it came to Mikasa, wouldn't you say?
"I never deserved to be with her in anyway."
You're wrong. After seeing what you two did in your love for each other, I've decided to help you by giving you this opportunity. Don't take her for granted ever again.
Eren didn't say anything.
Good luck Eren. You also don't need to worry about your father and what he did that night. I'll make sure he does what needs to be done. You should also know that this won't be a conscience transfer but rather just a memory copy and paste to your younger self; you won't feel the way you felt all these 4 years.
Eren nodded.
Also this isn't an exact science; you may or may not land in the intended time period.
Eren's eyes widened. "Wait what?!"

She swiped her hand and the realm all around him stretched away in front of him into the far distance. His senses getting blurry and unreadable. And just like that his world turned black.
The room fell silent as Historia stared down at Eren who had suddenly froze right where he knelt. He hadn't let go of her hand.
She looked at him confused.
"Eren are you alright?"
Her eyes widened when she saw the look on her face.
Eren face was full of shock and horror. But she saw something else too. It was anger.
He stood abruptly and he could feel his everyone's eyes on him.
Mikasa stood up next.
"Eren. What wrong?"
He turned his eyes toward her. And he took a step back.
Mikasa. You...you were gonna kill me. No. You killed me! And...and I deserved it!
Eren began to breathe heavily, and before he knew what he was doing he ran down the aisle and pushed through the doors his heart and mind running a million miles an hour.
My note:
Okay so if you read this when it originally was published, you would know that that last scene is new. I decided I wanted to leave this on a cliffhanger and let you know where Eren ended up so I sent him to the point in the story where I think the story went to shit. His future...past... future memory? Still not sure, but whatever.
Okay so if time travel is possible why not just use it Isayama?! The canon ending was stupid, and I just couldn't live with it.
Some say I hate it for the wrong reasons but im gonna be honest: I hated what was done to Eren's character and how we lost his POV in the story. I hate that he chose a path chosen for him which many say it contradicted his character and his ideals, and that he's the type of character who makes his own fate (Yes I am a Terminator fan all the way). "Future set in stone", my ass. What Eren saw is the exact point in the story in which I hated the story and everything forward.

Also let me just say it's this type of time travel that I like. The kind that involves two of the same people in the same place is ALWAYS COMPLICATED. That's why I think that X-men DOFP did better than the MCU's Endgame, especially since in Endgame's time travel was clearly a Dues ex Machina and it STILL COULD'NT change the past unlike X-men because of course, where in X-men it also retained its values of how mutants suffer from discrimination while also saving the world. I always see the parallels between the Mutants and the Eldians. Also Hugh Jackman beats RDJ ANYDAY of life.
