Team Avatar: A decade after a Century
10 years have passed since the defeat of firelord Ozai. The four nations do indeed live in harmony as Avatar Aang had hoped.
Over this past decade, new laws have passed in the earth kingdom that refugees living in ba sing se must show a work permit to continue to live inside its walls, as the threat of a takeover from the fire nation is no longer an issue, they cannot justify the housing and resources to support people not contributing to the market economy of the city.
In the fire nation itself, rebellions were quelled as supporters of the previous firelord carried over into the reign of fire lord zuko, who now being 26 years old and the firelord, seems to be quite the lady killer, of course, he will always remain loyal to his girlfriend and now fiancee Mai!
"Lord Zuko?"
"Yes? Who speaks to me?"
A young woman walks into the royal palace chamber wearing nothing but a pink nightgown with her hair down past her shoulders.
"Uhm, my name is Wai Shin, and well, it's my 18th birthday and I was wondering if I could get a history lesson from the firelord?"
She flutters her eyes at zuko, moving her legs further apart exposing her dragon tattoo that hugs the bottom half of her body.
"And maybe I could have one of those fruit tarts, you know the ones, with the rose petals on top?"
"What? Who let you in here? Where are the imperial firebenders?" "GUARDS GUARDS!" Zuko exclaimed!
Wai Shin screams as she is dragged away by her arms by the imperial fire benders. Zuko is a committed man! And is the example every man in the fire nation should look up to. Stoic, patriotic and most of all pure of heart!
Team Avatar do visit each other on occasion, but also do have lives outside of the group.
Katara and Aang are the epitome of a power couple traveling all across the world and being all around the best kind of people. The status of avatar helps Aang get into places no normal person would have access too, but he makes sure he does not take this for granted, his avatar duties give him many perks.
Katara is also not subjected to just being "The Avatar's love interest" she is stern while also being kind and respected!
They do not have a set home, they are more or less nomads, flying on Appa who is now getting old, Aang dreads the day he has to put Appa down since in the past three months he has suffered major pains in his left middle hoof, while Katara has done her best to try and heal it using her skills as a waterbender, the only true way to fully repair a flying bisons hoof was only through the air nomads and the dedicated Air noman hoof doctors, and thanks to firelord sozin, these doctors are no longer with them.
While Appa being old has definitely put a damper on their travels, they all still love each other very much, Appa is even respectful when Aang and Katara have fun during the nights, he pretends to be asleep, but being a gigantic flying horned bison, it is hard not to pick up on absolutely everything happening on his back but he remains respectful. However sometimes, having five stomachs doesn't help as during the night at least one of them would always make a groan or a gurgle and disturb Aang and Katara as they were…..folding their laundry.
When Toph joins them on their adventures around the world as she often does, she frequently hears them at night as well, but being the friendly person that she is, she always compliments him.
"You can really rock the saddle Twinkle Toes!" said Toph
"How-How did you know? What gave it away?"
"Please! Ican hear better than a shirshu can smell! I know exactly what you and Katara were doing last night and for how long!"
"Ho-How long?" aang said dejectedly but still remaining slightly confident
"Yep you guys went at it for exactly-"
Katara bursts in the room at the exact moment!
"HEY GUYS A FLOCK OF WILD HOG MONKEYS IS ATTACKING THE TOWN BELOW WE NEED TO GO HELP!"
Aang and toph give each other looks as they run towards Appa and get on with katara
"Yip Yip"!
Sokka after the death of his father Hakoda, decided to return to the southern water tribe and be its new leader. Hakoda after the defeat of Ozai, was ambushed by firebenders while trying to clear out the fire nation colonies in the earth kingdom, he had no idea they were coming nor could he have known. When Katara and Sokka were notified, they were crushed, this upset Katara so much that she killed the messenger hawk that carries the sad news to them.
"What should we do?" said Sokka, as a tear fell down his face
Katara has a blank expression, and says nothing for a few minutes before aang chimes in
"Whatever you decide i'm with you!"
Katara gives Aang a kiss on the cheek and turns to sokka…
"One of us should go and help our family, we know Paku will be their as well with gran gran, they can give us help as well"
Sokka quickly stands up, "I'll go, Katara, you stay with aang, you guys have a future together, i should be the one who helps the southern watertribe rebuild"
"What about Suki?" said toph
"Suki can come if she wants, to be honest, i think im over her at this point, we've been together for 11 years and i don't think i can keep up with her anymore"
"Well, you get better with time Sokka" said toph
"I don't mean just that toph, i mean with everything, she thinks she can solve all her issues by putting it in a headlock or attempting to poke it with her fans"
Team avatar is well on their way to their new lives, Zuko comes and visits them on occasion when his firelord duties allow him too
"Flameo Hotman" said Aang
"Please stop saying that, no one in the fire nation has said that for over a century" exclaimed zuko
"I don't know i kinda like it, he's quite the hot man if i do say so myself"
No one sees who said this until mai walks out of the airship with her hands on her hips and a large smirk on her face
