Rent-a-Boyfriend
06/02/2010 State: Florida/ City: Miami
"Request Title: Rent-a-Boyfriend
Username: Mia Perez
Location Florida/Miami
Meeting Area; Miami Beach, down by the pier with a seagull sign.
Summary: My name is Mia, and I need one of the Realmbreakers to go on a date with me. Email me if you want to go out with me, and we can talk at the beach. And don't worry about money; I'll bring my own."
At fifteen, an adolescent girl was sitting on a wooden bench that rested on a pier. She was a little chubby with brownish Latino skin. Her hair was long and curled, reaching past her roundish chin. Her legs were a bit big to match her chubby figure, with her cheeks being round. Her eyes were brown as chocolate with a hint of caramel. Her clothes were as thus; light blue shorts, a blue short-sleeved shirt, a pair of brown sandals, a single heart ear piercing, and a small bracelet with a small skull.
The young girl was nervously waiting on the bench. She fidgeted her legs and took deep breaths. Then, having left home with a lie to her parents, she would walk along the beach for a while.
"No one is showing up," she said nervously. She twiddled her fingers. The request she made was only two days ago, and she had gotten an email from the "Realmbreakers" that they would accept her date.
"I-I wonder what they're like?" she asked, curious and nervous. She was sitting on pins and needles, looking down the pier. She wonders if she made a good decision; it was a snap decision, and now she had gone through with it.
"Yo, are you Ms. Perez?" asked a voice.
The now presumed Mia Perez looked over to her right and saw the source of the young voice. It was a young man who appeared to her age. He stood lax wearing a pink short sleeve hooded jacket, with a picture of a yellow and reddish Hibiscus flower on the right side of his jacket with a silver zipper in the center. The jacket was open, revealing a yellow short sleeve shirt. He wore a set of pinkish shorts that went an inch past his knees. He was barefoot, understandable since most people were around the beach. Lastly, he wore a pair of wireless headphones around his neck, unlike any brand she had seen before. Mia wondered if he was the one she was going on a date with. She noticed him looking down at her, not angry or smiling, just waiting for her to answer.
"I-I am," Mia uttered nervously, afraid she didn't speak loud enough. Finally, she stands up only to notice how their height difference wasn't that much. She silently thanked God that it was someone around her age and not some old pervert. Lotus smiles and introduces himself.
"My name is Lotus; I'm a member of the Realmbreakers, your 'date,'" said Lotus relaxed tone. He puts his hands in his jacket pockets, relaxed and grinning like a smooth rogue in an RPG.
"He hasn't run off yet; that's a good sign, right?" she asked herself. She notes Lotus's smile, "A-And he's smiling too,"
"Thanks for coming," she said quickly. "And you can just call me Mia, Lotus," Mia stands up from her bench, holds out her hand, and Lotus takes it, and they shake. Mia tries to relax, being a nervous wreck. She couldn't help it; not only would this be her first date, but it would be with someone she instantly found attractive; dark skin, muscular arms, pretty eyes.
"Glad to come, hope I look okay and not just some bright mess," joked Lotus gesturing at himself. Mia shook her head.
"N-No, your perfect, I'-I'-" Mia trailed off as she looked down at her body; she frowned at her figure, "I can't judge you on your looks," she looked up at Lotus, "Not that you aren't good looking."
Fearing she had embarrassed herself, Mia wanted to run away. Lotus, however, didn't show any discomfort around her.
"Thanks," he wears a big smile, blushing a little, "You look pretty cute yourself, If you don't mind me saying."
Mia felt a pang on her heart hearing those words. It was a compliment, but she did not believe in its sincerity. She swallows her pride and continues; she knows what this was.
"Yeah, you don't have to compliment me if you don't want to," said Mia. Lotus nods.
"I got it; I'll stop if it makes you uncomfortable," said Lotus.
"No, i-its not that; I just don't want you to force yourself to compliment me," said Mia. Her tone was a bit sad. "I know you're here cause I put that request up, so it's okay," Lotus nods and gives a thumbs up.
"I understand," Mia sighed, "You look cute," said Lotus in the same tone of voice. Mia's face gains a reddish tint in her cheeks from the compliment and a look of shock. "Nothing forcing the truth out of me,"
"Well, at least he's trying to be funny or charming," she thought.
"So, why did you put this job on our request board?' asked Lotus, "And Why have me be your man?"
Mia looked down. Lotus could feel hints of shame and embarrassment. She was about to open her mouth, but Lotus stopped her.
"Nevermind, if you don't want to talk about it, I won't make you," said Lotus. He tries to be as respectful as possible. As grateful Mia would have
"N-No, I-I can tell you, but promise not to laugh," begged Mia. Lotus put his hand to his heart and bowed.
"On my honor as Realmbreaker, you can spill your guts," said Lotus.
"That's a weird way to say 'I promise,' but okay," said Mia, a little unsure. She clasped her hands and let them hang at her waist. Then, she averted her gaze from Lotuss's and spoke.
"I-I just want to try and go on a date; this will be my first one," said Mia. "I'm sixteen, and I've never had a boyfriend or been on a date" her tone was a bit frustrated and sad.
"All my friends have boyfriends and been on dates, and no one has asked me," she sighs," and every boy I ask says no,"
Mia felt embarrassed having said that.
"Okay, let's go," said Lotus in a curt and delighted fashion.
"Huh?" said Mia, half expecting Lotus to let out a chuckle or laugh. But, instead, she then sees Lotus bow for a moment.
"Sorry, that was rude," said Lotus. "What I should have asked was, where do you want to go on our date?" His correction was from what he believed was insensitivity.
"Oh um, well, there's this Arcade that I like to go to," said Mia, "it's a couple of minutes away if we walk,"
"Lead the way; it's your town," said Lotus with a smile. Mia nods. The two then walked down the piece. Mia looked down at Lotus's hand and her own as they walked side by side. Mia blushed at the idea of the two holding hands like a couple. Mia almost opened her mouth to speak, but she decided not to, though it did not want wan her.
Lotus then holds his hand out to Mia as the two walks down the pier. Mia was surprised and wondered why Lotus did that,
"We can hold hands if you want," he said.
"How did he-, did he read my mind?" she thought. Mia then shook off any foolish notion. Mia then took Lotus's hand and interlocked her fingers with his.
"Do you want to get something to eat before playing any games?" asked Lotus.
"Sure, I'm starving," said Mia. "I know a food truck nearby."
"14.56 please," said the food vendor. He places two Styrofoam trays filled with food on the counter of his food truckāMia's contained Cajun Seafood Shrimp with onions and rice. Lotus's food was simply was a taco salad with cheddar cheese, extra vegetables, and some nacho chips. Mia was about to pull out some money from her wallet to pay, but Lotus had done the same.
"I'll pay for it," said Lotus.
"Um, okay, thank you," said Mia as she slowly puts her wallet away. Lotus pays for the food, and the two find a small round table with a sun-umbrella in the center, open and creating shade for the "couple." They sit down and open their trays, revealing their steaming hot lunch; Mia had a can of lime soda to drink, while Lotus had a bottle of water. Mia was about to smell it like she would but feared to look embarrassing in front of Lotus. And as she thought this Lotus smelled his food,
"This smells great," said Lotus. Mia took a subtle sniff of her food, and she was glad she did.
"It smells delicious." she declared. Mia grabbed her plastic fork and began eating her food. Lotus did the same, mixing his beef, cheese, and vegetables before scooping up what he could to take a bite. After eating their food for a moment, Lotus drank some of his water and broke the silence.
"*Hmm* It tastes so good," said Lotus. He takes another bite.
"Were you hungry before you came to meet me?" asked Mia. Lotus swallowed and took a nearby napkin to wipe his mouth of any food.
"I didn't eat anything before leaving home; sorry if I look a little piggish," said Lotus.
"No, it's fine, but you are right. It tastes delicious," declared Mia as she bit into her rice and shrimp.
"You like eating here?" asked Lotus.
"I don't usually, but I love food that's cooked fresh, especially fish or whatever shrimp are," said Mia. Lotus continued eating, loving the crunch sound from the lettuce and chips in his ears.
"If that's how you feel I we could have done this tomorrow, I'd fix you something at home and bring it to you," said Lotus. Mia stopped eating and swallowed her food.
"You can cook, like what?" she asked curiously.
"Nothing big; rice, stew, cookies, pasta, and anything easy," Lotus declared. He took a quick swig of his water.
"That's cool," Mia looked down at her food and stirred her rice for a moment, "I-I can only do microwaved food,"
"No shame in that, long as you ain't hungry," said Lotus. He took another bite out of his food and ate it hungrily.
"Speaking of which, could I ask something?" asked Mia, curiously about the young man before her. Lotus nods and swallows his food again.
"Shoot,"
"What part of Miami are you from, or Florida?" asked Mia. "I-I know your not a boy from my school. Are you visiting or transferring when school starts up again?
If Lotus had any food in his mouth, he would have choked on it. He answers.
"Well, I'm actually from out of town," said Lotus. He nearly adverts his eyes from Mia's gaze. "When I took the job you posted, I had to come all the way here,"
Mia's eyes widened in shock.
"Did he seriously travel just because I asked?" she thought. Mia was so caught up in her thoughts that she barely noticed a man slipping his hand in her pants pocket and grabbing her wallet. Mia spun around to see the thief run away.
"Hey!' she yelled angrily, throwing her food at the man only to miss and hit the sidewalk. She was about to call for the police, but she bore witness as Lotus moved faster than she had ever seen someone run up close. She watched as Lotus chased down the thief. Mia got up from her chair to go after the two, readying her cellphone to call the police.
"GET BACK HERE!" yelled Lotus as he ran down the street, gaining on him. Mia runs after them, unable to run as quickly as Lotus. She nearly loses their sight until she notices Lotus stop giving chase. Mia finally catches up to see Lotus looking down at the thief as he was sitting on the boardwalk, defeated and scuffed up. Mia rushed over to Lotus, who had her wallet in his hands.
"Seriously, my man, did you try to steal in mid-day?" asked Lotus in a severe tone. "Common sense dictates you try that shit at night,"
"Are you okay?" Mia asked, more worried about Lotus than her own money. Lotus smiles and yawns and rubs the back of his head.
"Who me," he gestures back at the thief, "Guys like that ain't nothing to a Realmbreaker, he 'tripped,'" said Lotus. It was sudden, but Mia noticed Lotus looked off to his right, but she didn't know why.
"More importantly, I got your wallet back," said Lotus with a hint of pride. He hands Mia her wallet and witnesses her sigh in relief.
"Thanks, you didn't have to do that," said Mia, grateful. Lotus shook his head.
"I kind of did; not only am I a Realmbreaker, but I'm your boyfriend for the day," he puts his hand to his heart, "That and I'd do so anyway," said Lotus.
"Oh-oh right," uttered Mia. "Let's go finish our food," her tone was desperate as to salvage this horrible event.
Lotus nearly chuckles and points at the thief, much to Mia's confusion.
"You fed yours to the boardwalk, remember?" asked Lotus. Mia then felt highly embarrassed at how she flew off the handle to stop the thief.
"Damn it," she whispered. Lotus held in whatever laughter he had so as not to embarrass Mia.
"You can have my food if you want," offered Lotus. Mia declined.
"T-That's okay, I-I ate enough," said Mia. She looked over at the thief, angry that he had stolen from her and scared at what he could have done to her.
"Mia?" uttered Lotus. Mia turns to Lotus and sees that his expression and sympathetic.
"You want to go home?" asked Lotus, "We can try again tomorrow if you don't feel safe."
Mia shook her head. She didn't believe it was something to be shaken up about; she got her wallet back, and as of now, it was just nerves.
"N-No, I can go," said Mia.
"Are you sure? A date's no good if both people ain't having fun," said Lotus. His tone was sincere and empathetic. Mia could tell Lotus didn't want to force her. However, Mia shook her head.
"I-I wanted to go to the arcade anyway," she said. Lotus then took her hand, nearly startling the poor girl.
"Sweet, let's go to the arcade then," said Lotus with a smile
"W-What about him?" asked Mia looking back at the thief. Lotus wafts his hand in front of him to waive away the situation.
"Don't worry, the police are on their way; we can leave him here," said Lotus.
Mia was perplexed, but a part of her wanted to get as far away from the thief as possible, so she didn't question it any further. Instead, she leads Lotus away from the scene and to the Arcade.
Arcade
Loud games, loud buttons, loud music, and loud children compliment it all. The Arcade was filled with bright games, ceiling lights, and visible cellphones. Pinball machines, Basketball hoops, skeeball, line arcade cabinets, air hockey, and more. With kids, young and adolescent using each device that called to them, filling the air with laughter, frustration, and anticipation. Mia tossed her small basketball at the hoop at the only basketball game as the time had run out.
Bzzt*
The buzzer sounds with Mia getting 32 points, beating the 30 point limit on the game. Lotus stood in awe as he was defeated, with his point total being 25. Here Mia was much happier; the Arcade was one of her favorite places, a place to drown out any bad feelings she'd have. These would be caused and not limited to; getting rejecting, failing, getting into a fight with her parents, a family member dying and ect.
"Nice shooting," said Lotus impressed. He takes one of the balls and spins it.
"Mostly practice with the smaller ones; I suck at the gym," said Mia with a small smile and creeping insecurity.
"Don't be hard on yourself, "Lotus spins one of the basketballs on his finger like a top, "But you want me to help you get better, I can help"
"No thanks, this is a good enough date," said Mia. But then, she stopped and remembered what this all was.
"For my Rent-a-Boyfriend," she thought.
"What game can we play now? We've got tons of tokens left?" asked Mia; she was beaming with enthusiasm and fun. Lotus nods his head. He then looked around and saw a particular machine.
"Your favorite place, you pick," he picks up one of the balls and tosses it into the hoop." I'm already having a ball," said Lotus with a smile. Next, Mia looked around the Arcade for a game for them to play; she then saw a crane machine. Lotus followed her gaze and saw it as well.
"You want to play that?" asked Lotus.
"Not the crane machine; that thing is rigged," said Mia.
"So I can't win you a stuffed animal," Lotus groaned a little, "Course, since you know this place better, you'd probably win me something," said Lotus
"Oh, you can still win, but it's rigged for you to lose most of the time," explained Mia. Lotus then gave a thumbs up.
"Challenge accepted," he walks over to the crane machine, large with a glass casing revealing the items inside; all of them were stuffed animals that covered the bottom of the machine, with a mobile metal crane hovering above them. Mia rushed over to him and tried and stop him from putting a token inside.
"I told you it's rigged," Mia protested. Lotus did it anyway.
"What's your favorite animal?" asked Lotus quickly as he began to operate the crane.
"Jellyfish, but your not-"
Before Mia could finish, Lotus was already operating the crane. To one's surprise, he went directly for the Jellyfish plushy in the corner of the machine. The claw falls on the Jellyfish and captures it. Mia felt nothing but anticipation when she saw this. As the claw lifts, one of the tentacles gets snagged, causing it to stay and place, barely. Mia watched with a growing smile as Lotus had the crane carry the Jellyfish over to the hole. The claw drops the stuffed animal down the hole with flashing lights and ringing sounds to indicate Lotus as the victor with a single button push.
"You did it!" cheered Mia. Lotus then knelt to the machine's slot and took out a bright blue jellyfish; it seemed less cartoonish without a face or a smile.
"Present for ya," said Lotus. He hands Mia the plushy, and she hugs it. She could hardly believe that lotus had won.
"Thanks, I'll call her 'Stingfish,'" said Mia with a sparkle in her eyes.
"Not many people can name a jellyfish as their favorite animal," said Lotus as he leaned against the machine.
"I love marine life," said Mia, "Fish, turtles, sharks, and I love Jellyfish best,"
"Even though you ate shrimp earlier?" asked Lotus. Mia nearly freezes up at that statement. She didn't expect to be challenged so quickly.
"I-Its completely natural to eat shrimp," said Mia nervously
"Uh-uh," said Lotus, looking directly at Mia. She felt like an angel was judging her for her hypocrisy at the moment. She hugs her plush tighter.
"D-Don't judge me," said Mia. Lotus chuckles.
"Relax. I'm just playin'," said Lotus, "I guess my joke did flounder,"
"Very funny," said Mia; she cracked a smile.
"What's up next?" asked Lotus. Mia looked around in excitement, but she turned to Lotus instead.
"How about you pick instead," said Mia. Lotus wasted no time and pointed to a pinball machine with a space theme.
"I wanna play a few rounds of that," said Lotus.
"Now that one is guaranteed to be fair," said Mia. The two then walk over to the pinball machine.
"I often do you come here?" asked Lotus, curious.
"W-Whenever I can go after school, well after I do my homework and then having to take a bus," said Mia awkwardly.
"What's your favorite subject?" asked Lotus. His tone was sincere and genuine; Mia couldn't help but answer.
"B-Biology, I barely passed my other classes," said Mia in a tired tone. "What about you?"
"I like writing and reading, but History is my favorite," said Lotus. He pulled out one of his tokens and placed it in the slot,
"History?" asked Mai.
"World history is pretty interesting to me; I even record my own at home," said Lotus. He pulled the plunger off the machine and let it go, launching the pinball. As the ball was in play, Mia watched as Lotus used the flippers to knock the ball back over and over.
"Your own history?" asked Mia.
"My Journal, diary, or chronicles," Lotus waives his hand for a bit, "Whichever word works best," said Lotus.
"Why do you do that?" asked Mia. When she asked this question Lotus paused before answering, like he didn't want to answer.
"Just want to remember the good times," said Lotus.
Mia couldn't argue against that reasoning.
"I also like flowers, too," said Lotus with a beaming smile. Mia was bit thrown off by that answer.
"So, where do you go to school?" asked Mia nervously. She hopped it was okay to ask him since he never mentioned it.
"I can't say, leader, says I can't," said Lotus. He looked back at Mia as he played the game.
"Leader?"
"Of the Realmbreakers," said Lotus, "He told me not to mention where we're from or his name,"
"So you're keeping it secret?" asked Mia. Lotus nods as the presses the buttons, activating the flippers. As he played Mai got a bit more curious about him, She had never heard of the Realmbreakers before, it didn't look likehe was a part of a gang or anything violent and this 'leader' that Lotus mentioned. Mia fidgeted around for a bit, struggling to speak up and ask, but unable to.
"You can ask if you want," said Lotus.
"Huh?" uttered Mia.
"About my leader, and the Realmbreakers," said Lotus. As he spoke the ball falls past the flippers, causing him to lose. He turned around to see his low score.
"Dang," he uttered."Alright then, your turn," Lotus moves out of the way, and Mia practically charges the pinball machine.
Mia pulls back the plunger and begins playing the game. Unlike Lotus, Mia hits the pinball repeatedly hitting several figures inside of the pinball machine and scoring more points.
"What do the Realmbreakers do?" asked Mia.
"We're training to be heroes," said Lotus without missing a step. Mia was in a bit of disbelief hearing this, she thought the Realmbreakers just operated a forum for requests.
"Heroes, like the Justice League." Mia said. Lotus smiled but shook his head.
"Not yet, but we will one day," said Lotus.
"Why, I mean how does going on a date with someone like me help you be a hero?" asked Mia a little forlorn. Lotus nods.
"Heroes make people happy, no matter how big or small," said Lotus, he gives a gentle smile and folds his arms. "We're proud to do it,"
"That's a bit weird , but it really nice of you," said Mia sweetly. She notices Lotus blush, he really likes compliments.
"So do you have any powers?' asked Mia.
"I've got a pretty dangerous power, I'm an empathic dude," said Lotus with a smirk.
"That's strange," said Mia. She assumed he was just bragging about being understanding.
"Eh, my body is pretty weird," said Lotus, Mia wasn't sure what to think about that. Despite Lotus's intuition on their date, she didn't believe that he had powers. There was people who looked up to the Justice League and wanted to be like them, so she figured Lotus was just one of those people. However there was something else,
"So whats your leader like?" asked Mia as she played the game.
"I can't tell you his name or about our base, like I said," said Lotus.
"I know, but can you tell me anything else or is that secret?" asked Mia. Lotus shook his head and gave a mischievous smile as he stood beside Mia, looking down at the machine.
"My leader is one of the best guys on planet earth," said Lotus proudly.
"Best guy?" asked Mia as she focused on her game.
"He's smart and resourceful, dependable," said Lotus, "He loves science, games and machines, even builds his own from time to time,"
"Like what?" asked Mia.
"The most I can tell you is that he's built his own flash light," said Lotus proudly. "He built our radio too,"
"Huh, that is kind of cool," said Mia impressed with the description of the enigmatic leader. She notices Lotus smile, she didn't know why, but he seemed more jovial and at peace talking about his friend, she wondered what his name was.
"*Chuckle* He also worries about me, a bit too much, plush he;s always nervous aro- *Groan* ow," uttered Lotus. Mia turn her head and notices Lotus in a bit of pain.
"Are you okay, is it a headache?" asked Mia she turned her attention away from her game. Lotus shook his head.
"Nah, just an annoying sound, its kind of loud in here," said Lotus.
"Oh," uttered Mia.
"Your ball's about to fall in!" said Lotus in a panic,
Mia turned back to her game and quickly hit the ball before it could fall through the flippers. Mia then continued playing the pinball machine more than a minute without stopping. The score was rising higher and higher on the board than Lotus had mustered. When she was finally finished, she had gotten over a hundred-thousand point.
"Yes!" yelled Mia.
"Yeah, girl," cheered Lotus. He put up his hand, and Mia gave it a Hi-Five.
After playing all the games until they ran out of tokens, Mia led Lotus out of the Arcade and back at the pier where they had met. It was much later than what she had initially been planned for; the sun was setting, and the two were sitting on the bench looking out at it. Mia had fun; she had gotten a stuffed animal, spent the day at her favorite place, and was accompanied by someone kind and sweet to her, and now it ends with both of them looking at a sunset by the ocean , very cliche.
"Did you have fun?" asked Lotus. Mia nods, hugging Stingfish,
"Yep, thanks for coming, your great boyfriend," said Mia. She blushes with Lotus doing the same.
"Thanks, knowing you had a good time means I did my job," said Lotus, " and I had fun too,"
"S-So, how much do I owe you?" asked Mia. To her surprise, Mia heard Lotus groan.
"You know, I'm not taking that kind of payment," he puts his hands behind his head. "The Realmbreakers work for free," said Lotus.
"Oh," said Mia.
"Yeah, and there's kind of another reason why I decided to do this," said Lotus. Mia then got anxious about what Lotus was about to say.
"I chose to do this because I wanted to make sure you didn't get into any danger," said Lotus.
"Danger?" asked Mia.
"Yeah, you posted that on our site, and I wanted to make sure you were more careful pulling that kind of stuff online," said Louts.
Mia was about to protest, but she realized that Lotus was correct in a quick and stomach-churning realization. She didn't know the Realmbreakers existed until a few days ago.
"Why did you pick our site?" asked Lotus. Mia looked down at Stingfish.
"I-I picked other dating sites; yours is the only one that responded," admitted Mia with some shame.
"That incredibly st- dangerous, your lucky that my friend and I were the only ones that could see the mission details," said Lotus. Mia grips Stingfish tighter and nearly cries. Feelings of insecurity and sadness rush into her.
"I-I know, I just wanted someone to like me even if it wasn't true," said Mia. Lotus shook his head. "But, d-do you like me, Lotus?" she didn't know why she asked that; maybe she hoped Lotus would say yes.
"In a platonic sense, I do," said Lotus gently. Mia sighed; she had a burning feeling in her chest; it wasn't hurtful, and she could tell Lotus wasn't trying to hurt her, and he was more respectful than how the boys from her school rejected her. She realized she shouldn't have expected more when it was established that the entire date was a request.
"Yeah, I-i should have figured," said Mia as her eye teared up. "I'm just some fat pig," she uttered.
"What? that's not why I don't like you like that," said Lotus appalled.
"Why not?" asked Mia angrily. Lotus points at his eye. It seems that he is tearing up as well.
"I can see more than that; its not cause of your looks that I don't like you that way," Lotus folds his arms, "Honestly, if that's the reason those boys turned you down, they got no taste." Lotus declared.
"Really?" asked Mia in disbelief, though she wanted to believe it.
"I told you that I thought you were cute; I wouldn't say that if I didn't mean it, paid or not," said Lotus in seriousness.
"Even though you don't want me?" asked Mia. Lotus nods.
"I just don't feel that way about you; I can't make myself feel any different," said Lotus. "I did have fun today but its just been one date, and I can't love someone from just one day," ,It didn't make her feel much better, the sting of rejection still permeated, but she could tell that Lotus wasn't trying to hurt her. Though strangely, he was out to help her.
"I"m sorry if I hurt you," said Lotus.
"Don't apologize, I-I know what this was," said Mia.
"Please don't try and go on sites like that again; guys would love to take advantage of girls like you," said Lotus. It almost sounded like he was pleading; Lotus's eyes were even teared up much as hers. She had remembered the moment when the thief had stolen from her. She wasn't sure she could handle more than that. Mia wipes her eyes with Lotus doing the same.
"Okay, I won't do it again," said Mia. Lotus smiled, looking reassured. She and Lotus then got up from the bench. Then to Mia's surprise Lotus bowed to her,
"Wha-"
"Thank you for allowing this fledgling hero to take your request." Said Lotus
Mia was to be eternally confused by this young man and she doubt his leader was any better. Still, she was happy that she had met him. As a joke she curtsied earning a chuckle from her date. Mia then looks at her cellphone for the time.
"I-Its getting late; I should head home," said Mia.
"Need me to walk with you," said Lotus. Mia shook her head and gave a small smile.
"N-No, I can find the way back," said Mia. But, before leaving, she wanted to get an honest answer from Lotus.
"Lotus, do you think someone will like me for me, even though I'm-" Mia stopped and gestured at her body. Lotus smiled and mused a word of his own.
"Cute, Fluffy?" he asked. Mia nearly giggled but stopped.
"Fat." she corrected him. Lotus nods.
"Course, your cute and enjoyable, kick the ass of any arcade game," said Lotus. Mia blushed hearing that, "but I think after a while, you won't need anyone like that," said Lotus, "Given enough time, you'll be able to confidence in yourself," said Lotus.
Mia couldn't decide if that answer was mature or cliche. But it felt like an answer that she may have needed to hear.
"Thanks," said Mia
"If you can find our site again, let the Realmbreakers know if they can help you again," said Lotus.
"Right, I'll take you to where some starfish are on the beach," said Mia with a smile.
"Wait you knew where starfish were, we could've done that." Suggested Lotus. Mia found it a little amusing he sound that gives Lotus a quick hug, and she walks away with Lotus staying where he was.
After Mia left, Lotus waited for a while. It was soon night with the stars presenting themselves to all. Then Ace showed up wearing his civilian attire and a face mask with a blue dolphin on it.
"~How was the date?~," he asked with some venom in his 'voice' while folding his arms. Lotus put his hands behind his head.
"You should know, you followed us," declared Lotus."Like a mother hen,"
"~I wanted to make sure it wasn't a trap ~," said Ace as he put his hands to his chest and pointed at Lotus,"~I didn't want you doing this alone, especially if it was a trap ~."
"I could already tell she wasn't up to anything," said Lotus; he smiled, "You already knew too,"
Ace nods.
"~She had ample time to jump you at the arcade and didn't try anything,~" said Ace. Lotus then gives a thumbs up.
"Thanks for tripping that guy and getting the cops," Ace adverted his eyes, embarrassed. Lotus points at his ear "But did you have to yell in my ear?" asked Lotus.
"~I only did it cause it was the common sense thing to do~," said Ace. He brought out his phone and showed the summary of the mission, "Anyway, did you set her straight?" Lotus looked down.
"It seemed like she was taking my advice to heart, but who knows if she'll be careful," said Lotus, "She's not like us; it's dangerous to put yourself out there where people can see,"
"~If she asks for a date again, you gonna do it?~" asked Ace.
"Probably, but she asked me if I like her and I told her no," said Lotus, his tone was a bit somber remembering her cry.
"~Ow~," uttered Ace, nearly wincing, part of him was a little upset with Lotus.
"I told her why I came, but I kind of hope I didn't hurt her by doing all this," said Lotus. Ace pulled out his teleportor, pointed over his shoulder with his thumb and pointed at his teleportor
"~You told her what you had to, the rest us up to her, now lets bail~," said Ace.
"Come on man, so soon? I want to enjoy the night sky," said Lotus as he looked up at the night sky, admiring the stars. Ace folds his arms and glares at Lotus. Lotus sighs and gets off the bench.
"Fine, another day then," said Lotus.
Lotus and Ace then find a secluded area on the beach and warp home. On this day, a young girl named Mia Perez would not only come home with a new plushy friend but had spent all night deleting any new dating site accounts she had created, ignoring any messages she had gained from them. She would be eager to recount the date she had with her friends. At the same time, a repeat offender was being questioned by the police for his constant stealing ,the police had been called by a young man in a face mask. The only ones who could explain the reasons behind these two seemingly separate events are Mia Perez and the Realmbreakers
And that's all I wrote.

Let me know what kind of job you want them to do next.
Review and tell me how I can improve.
