Randy looked nervously at Leandra. It was clear she didn't believe him. Her sapphire blue eyes almost shot lightning balls. She was furious. She tugged on her long, strawberry blonde hair. Something she knew he hated seeing her doing. He loved that hair. He didn't like seeing her try to destroy it.
"Why are you doing this to me?" She asked.
"I'm telling you the truth," he said.
"Seth would never do that," she said.
"But he did," he said.
Her brother Seth had stopped by earlier when Randy was alone. It had come as a huge surprise to Randy when Seth suddenly started hitting on him and saying that Leandra would never know. Randy didn't even know Seth swung that way. Seth had his own girlfriend in Bianca.
"Seth's not gay," she said.
"So he's bisexual or whatever. I'm not lying," he said.
"Fine!" She growled. "I'll call him."
She took out her phone and called Seth. She went off right away about how Randy was accusing Seth of hitting on him and trying to ruin their relationship. She demanded Seth to come over right away. Randy sat down and looked down at the floor. He grabbed the arm rests, closed his eyes and held on tight. It felt like the world started spinning around him. A feeling of anxiety that he didn't like.
"Randy!" Leandra barked.
Randy opened his eyes and was surprised to find both Leandra and Seth standing there. He had no idea he had been lost in his own world for that long. He thought he had just closed his eyes seconds before.
"Are you alright, man?" Seth asked.
Seth reached a hand forward but Randy slapped it away.
"Don't touch me!" Randy snarled.
"Wow, easy," Seth held up his hands. "What's all this nonsense of me hitting on you?"
Randy stood up fast and towered over Seth.
"You did!" Randy growled.
"If you didn't want to help me with my lines, you could have said no. I didn't know you would spin it into this story," Seth said.
"Your lines? What lines?" Randy asked.
"I got a small role in an episode of an upcoming tv show. I'm playing a gay man. I came over here earlier today to tell Leandra but she wasn't here. You told me I could read my lines for you," Seth said.
Randy started feeling anxious again. Seth had talked about a role. He had talked about practising. Randy didn't remember it exactly that way but things were always weird these days. Like he was stuck in a world alone that he couldn't get out of. He might have gotten something mixed up earlier.
"But you used my name," Randy said.
"The man I'm crushing on in the show is named Randy," Seth said.
"And Leandra's name," Randy said.
"I did? Oh shit, I must have said the wrong name. I don't recall that though. If I did, I'm truly sorry, Randy. I would never come on to you. I'm not gay. You know that. You know Bianca. You know how much I love her. I was actually planning on proposing to her tonight but that kinda got ruined since I had to come here," Seth said.
Leandra crossed her arms and gave Randy a stern look. Randy sat back down and buried his head in his hands.
"I'm sorry, Seth," Randy said. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to fuck things up."
"I think you should leave," Leandra said.
"I'll call you tomorrow," Seth said.
Randy heard Leandra escort Seth out of the house. She came back and sat down on her knees in front of him. She took his hands and looked at him.
"What's going through that head of yours?" She asked.
"I don't know," he answered. "I feel like I'm losing myself lately. I didn't use to be like this."
"Like what?" She asked.
"Like this!" He almost yelled. "I was a player before I met you. You changed me completely and now I'm seeing ghosts and getting jealous when I'm not supposed to. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me. I'm turning into this desperate man. I'm always scared to lose you, and in the process I lost myself. I lost who I used to be, and that's a good thing. I don't wanna be a player again. I want you. But it's fucking scary how fast everything has changed with you."
He squeezed her hands tightly and gave her a begging look.
"Don't leave me," he whispered. "I'll do anything to make this right."
"You owe Seth one hell of an apology," she said.
"I know," he said.
"When he calls tomorrow, you're inviting him out for dinner. You're gonna take me, him and Bianca to the most expensive restaurant in this town, and you're gonna let him order whatever he wants. You're gonna sit there, apologize and make sure we all have a great evening," she said.
He nodded and relaxed his grip on her hands.
"I can do that," he said.
"Good," she smiled. "Let's go to bed. You're a mess. You need a good night's sleep. You'll see that everything will look better tomorrow."
