Our teenage years can be tough in the best of circumstances. Add in difficulties and they get ten times harder. For fifteen-year-olds Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon their life circumstances have added to their difficulties but have also enriched their lives. This is their story.

Rick Grimes

Rick Grimes watched the scenery pass below him as they flew away from the only home he had known for fifteen years. He also had to say goodbye to his best friend since grade school, Shane Walsh. They had planned to go to the police academy together but that's a no-go now.

His dad had landed a job as a police captain in a small coastal town of California. Of course Shane said he had hit the jackpot. All the hot California kids in swimsuits. He just rolled his eyes. Rick wasn't the beach-going type.

When the plane finally touched down, Rick was both happy he was off that death machine and overwhelmed by how many people were in the airport.

Him, his brother Jeffrey, and his parents went to retrieve their luggage and then headed out of the terminal to rent a car for the drive to their new home.

While waiting for the man to bring around a car, Rick saw this beautiful girl who looked about his age. She had beautiful deep dark brown eyes that sparkled in the midday sun. Her black hair and dark skin were also beautiful but he couldn't pull his eyes from hers.

He knew Shane would be looking at her full bosom but he wasn't Shane and her eyes just captivated him.

Their car came before he could gather the courage to talk to her and he was sure he would never meet someone as beautiful as her and he didn't even know her name.

For the next hour and a half, Rick sat in the backseat of their rented car with his earbuds in and thinking about the beautiful brown-eyed girl back at the car rental place.

When they pulled up to their new place, Rick and Jeffrey gasped at the same time. The house was near the beach and from every window you had an ocean view. Jeffrey started taking pictures to send to his girlfriend Lori back home.

Their stuff would be arriving in the next day or so they slept on air mattresses that they bought on their way there.

Rick watched as the sunset behind the distant mountains but didn't watch long as he saw something much more beautiful walking up the driveway of the next house over.

She saw him and waved. He waved back as he watched her head inside. He fell back onto his bed and looked at the roof thinking "this might not be as bad as I thought".

Daryl Dixon

Daryl Dixon was tired, hungry, and only had a little money on him. He had run from his useless parents and psychotic brother to try and make a better life for himself. He didn't want to get into drugs and drinking like his brother and dad.

He stumbled into a small cafe in a small Virginian town. He was happy to see that he had just enough money to order a soda. So getting his drink and making his way to a corner booth he finally felt like a future was possible.

He was positive when he saw a beautiful girl his age come in. She had the the most beautiful hazel eyes and long brown hair. She was with a young man who looked like her, just male. He watched as they sat down at a table next to his with their food.

"Jeremy you ordered way too much food," the beautiful girl said as she looked at the tray in front of them. "If daddy knew you ate that much he would kill you," she said her accent making him more turned on than he already was. "Maggie if daddy knew you were in those clothes he would be beyond himself anyways. So if you don't tell I won't" Maggie nodded laughing and opened her hamburger.

Daryl watched as her red lips covered the two buns and the filling inside and wished those lips were on him. Shaking his head he turned back to his soda.

He tried to ignore the beautiful girl sitting so close but he constantly glanced over at her. He had just finished his third refill when he decided to steal a glance again but this time when he looked up from his soda she was sitting right across from him.

His face heated up and he knew that he had to beat red. The girl laughed and said "my name is Maggie, you looked hungry, and my twin ordered too much so we thought we would offer you the two extra burgers" she said, her brown hair falling across her face.

He nodded and she handed him the burgers but she didn't move. He tried his best not to act like a carnivore but his stomach gave him away and he started devouring one of the burgers. Jeremy and Maggie looked at each other sd back at Daryl sadly.

Once he was finished with one and he knew his stomach wouldn't make a fuss for a while he took a sip of cola and said "My name is Daryl and thank you for the food. I only had enough for a soda" he said wishing he hadn't from the looks he got.

Jeremy and Maggie started whispering and with the most beautiful smile, he had ever seen Maggie said, "come to my daddie's farm. He's always looking for farmhands especially this time of year. He pays well and you'll have a roof over your head and three meals a day".

"Yes," Daryl said without thinking. All he could see was being able to see Maggie every day and make money as well. Maggie and Jeremy looked excited and pulling him out of the booth they escorted him to Jeremy's truck because as Maggie had put it "she was grounded from her truck for a while over an incident". He knew it had to be something outrageous because both she and Jeremy stifled laughs.

Once everyone was buckled in, Jeremy took off. Daryl was watching the scenery go by when he felt a hand on his thigh. He looked over and saw Maggie's hand and she was smiling at him. He smiled back and was excited about the next chapter of his life.
