I have a new obsession, this is my first numb3rs story starring my OC, Nani Eppes. Don and Charlie's adopted sister. bare with her she has had a hard time and as my friends on here know, I like to be dramatic and shocking. As usual, the bullpen was quiet with the sound of pens doing paperwork and fingers typing on keyboards. The team had relocated to the conference room to find some proper silence, for their briefing, Charlie Eppes, Larry Fleinhart and Amita Ramanujan were also present. Terry's replacement had arrived that morning and Nani Eppes had the pleasure of introducing their newest member. Nani exited the elevator looking down at a file in her hand, she wasn't always the most observant person when she was in the office and she walked straight into one Colby Granger, knocking her file to the ground.

"Shit. Sorry." She said, crouching down to pick her the crime scene photos.

"It's not the first time you've fallen for me." He smirked, causing her to look up quickly.

"Colby?" She gasped, picking the last picture she stood. "My God... How are you?"

"I am good! How are you?" He laughed hugging his old friend.

"I'm good." She laughed returning the hug. "Wow. What are you doing here?"

"I got my discharge." He sighed, pulling away.

"Yeah, I know the feeling." She replied, after seeing that he was not over whatever had happened.

"You look happ..i..er." He said sadly.

"I try to look it. People ask less" She fidgeted.

"Hows Sienna?" He asked.

"Yeah, she's good. High school now, she's doing well." Nani smiled softly. "Sorry, why are you here?"

"I'm going to be working for one of your brothers."

"Of course! Don. I work for him too. Come on, I'll introduce you to the team."

Colby nodded and followed the familiar brunette through the bullpen and into a large room. It had some opposite facing grey tables, large tv screens filled with what looked to Colby like squiggles and of course, people. Nani walked into the room and handed her file to a very pretty dark-haired young woman and then nodded towards a young man with thick curly hair.

"Okay, guys. This is the newest member of our team. Meet Colby Granger, we worked together when I was in CID. He's the best they had." Nani announced. "Colby. This is Amita and Larry. They work at CalSci with Charlie, my younger brother." She said nodding at the curly-haired man.

"Right, you're the maths genius," Colby said, shaking his hand.

"Well I've certainly been called that but really I'm-"

"Then we have Megan Reeves. Megan is our behavioral specialist." Nani winked. "Don should be here somewhere, so should David."

"David's on his way, and Don just had to go see the A.D," Megan said

"A.D.?" Colby frowned.

"Assistant Director." Nani clarified.

"Wait. So what are three CalSci professors doing in the FBI?" Colby asked.

"Actually Amita's a student," Charlie said.

"They use math to help us solve a lot of our cases. We have had a massive increase in solved cases since Don started bringing Charlie in. Amita is an expert with computers, hacking, gaming, and so on. Larry-"Megan added.

"Larry has his own field of expertise. Most notably in the field of not knowing where he is 90% of the time." Nani finished causing the group to chuckle.

"It's more like 93%," Larry said, scratching his head.

The group laughed again.

"Hey, guys. Sorry, the A.D. was being an ass as usual. Who's this?" Don asked entering the room.

"Don this is Colby Granger. Terry's replacement." Nani said.

"Ahh, so you're Colby Granger?" Don smirked, raising his eyebrows at Nani.

"Yes. This is your former hookups replacement." Nani teased.

"Well, you cool to take him under your wing? As you know each other." Don teased back.

"Touche," Nani replied with a smirk. "I was going to go and track down the people on Charlie's list of suspects."

"Sure. Colby, go with her. Learn something." He said, "Then show him how things work around here, and get him his ID, alright?"

"On it." Nani sighed.

"And find David!" Don called as Nani walked away.

She nodded and beckoned Colby to follow her to her desk. He sat in her chair while watching her put her gun in its holster, grab a file, and her keys. They headed down to the parking garage where they found their missing agent. Nani tutted at the man with a smug look on her face.

"Oh back off Eppes," David said, rolling his eyes.

"Another late start?" She taunted. "Tanya again?"

"Who's this?" He hissed.

"Colby Granger, nice to meet you man," Colby replied, shaking David's hand.

"Don's looking for you. We are gonna start this suspect list." Nani said, waving David off.
