Hey everyone, drifter sliding in. I know I'm late but Merry Christmas. I hope everyone had a happy, and fun Christmas. Also, Happy New Year since I probably won't post anything.
I got my replies to reviews at the bottom of the chapter since there's a lot of stuff to reply to.
Previously on chapter 7
As Vivillon fires a yellowish beam of light, Mizuchi readies his own attack. Once the beam got close enough, Mizuchi karate chops it, splitting in and making it go around him while saying, "[Kaimen Wari]," before he blitzes in front of Vivillon using [Quick Attack]."[Fish-Man Karate Secret Technique: Buraikan!]," Mizuchi shouts as he hurls a pack of water and shoots a water shockwave through Vivillion's body.
~Chapter 8: A party of 6?~
As the shockwave went through Vivillon's body, it shook all the fluids in its body including its blood. Due to the interruption of blood flow in its small body, Vivillon became nauseous, it started to stagger as its vision becomes blurry before it faints. Viola immediately ran over to Vivillon, checking if its ok while ignoring the referee announcing Mizuchi's victory. After congratulating Mizuchi via a few head pats, Lycian walks over to Viola.
"Is Vivillon alright?" Lycian asks as he hands Viola a potion. Viola took the potion and sprayed it onto Vivillon before replying "Yeah, he should be okay. Thanks for the potion," as she returns Vivillon to his Pokeball. "I am curious about how you got your pokemon so strong in only two weeks though," Viola says as she hands Lycian the bug badge. Lycian took the badge and put it in a case he bought from the Pokecenter before replying, "I just taught him some martial arts," as he crouches to pet Mizuchi.
... ... ...
Not hearing a reply, both Mizuchi and Lycian stopped what they were doing to look at Viola. Viola was staring at Lycian with complete and utter shock, her eyes and mouth were wide open almost comically. "Don't let Butterfrees fly in," Lycian says as he used a finger to close Viola's mouth after laughing. Viola developed a full-body blush as she stuttered a reply, "S-s-sh-sh-shut up! she retorted. Due to her reaction, Lycian stared at her in astonishment, not expecting her to react like that. After a few seconds, both Lycian and Viola erupted in laughter. A few seconds later, the duo stop laughing, and Viola questioned Lycian again. "Ok, ok. You said you taught him martial arts, but I've never seen martial arts like that," she commented. A mischievous look appeared on Lycian's face, he smiled as if he was laughing, and his eyes were filled with mirth that was mocking anyone who looked at them by dangling a secret in front of them. "That's a secret," he says, laughing as Viola pouts at him.
After getting his fill of laughter Lycian decides it's time to go. "Well, I'm afraid it's time for me to go. This region won't beat itself," Lycian says to Viola. "Remember to come and visit me when you reach the top," Viola says as they share a small hug. "I'll remember you as long as you post the picture of this battle in your gallery," Lycian says chuckling at the end. "Come on Mizuchi, it's time to go. Thanks for the fight Viola, I'll see you next time," Lycian says as he left while waving over his shoulder. "I'll be there to capture your champion battle!" Viola shouts with a slight blush as she waved to them though she did chuckle when Mizuchi climbed up to Lycian's shoulder to wave to her. (Let me know what you think of this cause I'm not a very conversational person)
"Alright Mizuchi, time to head back to Lumiose City, we'll stay there for tonight before heading to route 5 in the morning, and hopefully get some new teammates. While we're heading to Lumiose City, you can have this," Lycian says as he gives Mizuchi an aura smoothie which the ninja happily starts to drink with a blissful look on his face. "When we get to Lumiose I'll make you an aura pie." The ninja frog definitely didn't have a mini celebration after all that would contrast his serious image.
In the forest on route 5, there are two pokemon staring at each other like a certain ninja duo. The first pokemon is Abra, a yellow bipedal pokemon that loosely resemble a fox; It squints its eyes similar to a certain ninja and has two brown, pauldron-shaped extensions on its shoulders, as well as a brown, fauld-like piece around its chest. The second pokemon is Pancham, a small bipedal pokemon resembling a panda. Its head and short, puffy tail are white, its upper body and hind feet are black, while the lower body is a dark gray.
"You might as well give up now Abra, I'll win this time!" the Pancham says with utmost confidence.
"Why can't you accept the fact that you can't beat me, and leave me alone," Abra retorts.
"I'll never give up until I kick your ass"
"Fine, let's get this over with," Abra says accepting the inevitable. Pancham immediately ran forward and trusted his right arm at Abra. Abra dodges by sidestepping to Pancham right before igniting its right fist and punching Pancham in the stomach causing Pancham to wheeze. Abra was about to continue his combo, however, it wasn't prepared for Pancham to [Karate Chop] it in its side. Pancham quickly turned and trusted his right paw into Abra's chest before following with its left paw. Unfortunately, the attack wasn't very effective against Abra, so Abra quickly recovered and punched Pancham in the face with an electrified fist before following with another [Fire Punch] to the stomach knocking Pancham to the ground.
"Now leave me alone," Abra says as it starts to walk away. Abra didn't have much hope that Pancham would leave it alone, after all this has ee going on for weeks.
"I'll never give up until I kick your ass, believe it!" Pancham shouts confirming Abra's doubts while simultaneously sounding like a certain jinchuriki. Unknown to both Pancham and Abra there was a small, but a noticeable smile on Abra's face as it walked away.
The trip to Lumiose City was quick and simple. While walking back Lycian took in a bit of the scenery, and let his other disciples out for a walk. On the way there they took in all the sights on route 4, well except Wuhuo, he decided that he wanted to experiment with his fire powers, and learn how to fly like a certain dragon slayer. After arriving at Lumiose City, Lycian booked a room at the Pokecenter for the night. Lycian then prepared a large dinner with multiple different dishes. For the rest of the night, the group celebrated getting their first gym badge, and their MVP, Mizuchi, got an aura pie.
After a good night's rest, Lycian was woken up by his alarm. He groggily got to shut it off before rubbing his eyes and stretching. He looked around the room and found all of his pokemon sleeping randomly around the room. Both Yamato were sleeping near each other with their feet in each other's faces. Tao for some reason looked like he fell asleep while meditating. Hinata somehow manages to maintain her natural grace while sleeping on a carpet like a certain princess with short servants. Mizuchi was sleeping on a table with his feet and hands holding him up like a certain Uchiha on a certain night. Lycian then whistled loudly waking everyone up. "Chop, chop everyone. Clean this place before coming to eat," he said before going to the kitchen to make several bowls of cereal for breakfast while his disciples started cleaning up the mess from last night. Once they were done they met Lycian in the kitchen for breakfast. After eating breakfast, everyone took a shower and brushed their teeth one by one.
"Okay everyone, today we'll be going to route 5 where we will hopefully get two new teammates. If we need to stay on the route for a few days then we'll camp there. Any objections? None? good," Lycian informs the group. With all their duties done, Tao, Yamato, Wuhuo, and Hinata all went back to their Pokeball, leaving Mizuchi who jumped on Lycian's shoulder. While leaving the Pokecenter, the duo says goodbye to Nurse Joy as they left for route 5.
Once they were on route 5, the duo immediately went off route, and into the forest area, why? Well, it's easier to find other pokemon in the forest than on the actual route. This was further backed up by their first opponents a Plusle and Minun duo. "Go kick their butts Mizuchi," Lycian and commanded to which the ninja frog delivered. Quickly using the [Quick Attack-Pound] combo, Mizuchi defeated the electric duo quicker than Usain Bolts fastest time. They continued to defeat multiple different pokemon using the same method, and anyone who didn't fall to that fell to an invisible aerial version(when jumps and uses gravity to boost his speed even more). The duo's win streak was paused when they heard something hitting the base of a tree. Walking to where they heard the sound coming from, they were surprised to see a Pancham punching a tree while mumbling about something.
"Stupid Abra, next time I'll kick your ass," Pancham muttered upset about his consecutive losses. Pancham continued to punch the tree repeatedly, wanting to get his arms stronger, so when it punches Abra it will actually feel the blow instead of brushing it off. "When I kick your ass, I'll finally be the strongest in the forest!" Pancham shouts passionately as he uses [Arm thrust] on the tree, cracking the bark. "And, what are you going to do after becoming the strongest in the forest," a mysterious voice asks Pancham. "After that, I'll go to other forests, and- Aaaaaghhh! Who's there?!" The little fighter screams wonder who snuck upon him. "I'm right behind you," the voice replies.
As Pancham turned around he was surprised to see Lycian, and Mizuchi in front of it. "Who are you? What do you want, and how can you understand me?" the little panda asks cautiously, but with growing curiosity at the end because the last it checked humans couldn't understand pokemon. "I'm Lycian and this is Mizuchi, my Froakie. I heard you while walking around in the forest, and I wanted to make a deal. As for How I can understand you, well, we'll leave that a mystery for now," Lycian replies purpose structuring his sentence, so Pancham would be curious.
Pancham looks at Lycian suspiciously puts its curious won out in the end, and asks about the deal. Lycian smirked slightly, happy that Pancham was curious, as he replies, "Well, I'll help you beat that Abra if you promise to join my team afterward. If I can't make you beat Abra then you don't have to join my team. On the other hand, if you do join the team, you'll get to travel the world, meet new pokemon, get stronger, and fight those new pokemon. So how about it?" Pancham took a minute to think about its options if it doesn't accept, more than likely the human would move on, and leave it to its losing cycle against Abra, but if it accepts, the human will train it, and even if it loses against Abra, it'll still be closer to winning. It knew what choice to take. "I accept."
Lycian smirks as he starts to tell Pancham his plan. "Ok. I'll teach you a new method of fighting that should let you beat Abra in two weeks. This first week is to get you used to the new method, and the next you'll practice with Mizuchi. Mizuchi while I teach Pancham, I want you to practice that new move you learned earlier." Mizuchi nods and jumps up into the trees as it starts practicing while Pancham waited for further instructions. "Now Pancham put your feet shoulder-width apart..."

With a certain psychic
It's been 2 weeks since I've beaten Pancham, and I won't lie, I'm very lonely. My evolution line is some of the best psychics around, however, due to the strain of our psychic, my species sleep for 18 hours a day, plus it is very common for us to teleport to random places while sleeping. However, I was different from my fellow Abras, my psychic wasn't as powerful as theirs. I didn't need to sleep for 18 hours, 8 hours and I'm good to go. Knowing that I won't be as strong as my fellow Abras with my psychic powers, I decided to do something different, I decided to train my physical side. Since specializing in my mental powers won't get me that far, it was far better to bring up my physical to meet the equilibrium. Luckily, I instinctively knew 3 moves, [Thunder Punch], [Ice Punch], and [Fire Punch]. I practiced those moves day in, and day out until I could do them with barely any thought, and when I could I realized that I was far more lonely than I thought. Being the outcast in my species made me feel alone, but training distracted me from that, and now that I don't have anything distracting me I realized that I have no friends, none in species, and now out. That is until Pancham.
I was exploring the forest when I encountered Pancham. It ran towards me and shouted that it will kick my ass because I'm the last pokemon it needs to beat to declare that it's the strongest in the forest. However, I was very discouraged when I saw it running up to me with its cocked back ready to thrust it at me(pause). I simply sidestepped, and knocked it out with an enlightening fist before walking away. Pancham kept coming to challenge me over, and over again, and still bore the same results. At first, it was annoying to fight Pancham every single day, but I guess I became happy that I had someone as a friend, however unorthodox our friendship may be. "I'm here to kick your ass Abra!" I heard behind me and was pleasantly surprised to see Pancham, a Froakie, and a human coming towards me.
Third PoV
"I highly doubt you can beat even if you get a human to help you," Abra responded to his rival. Although Abra's tone was a bit condescending, Lycian could see a hint of happiness in its eyes as it looked at Pancham.
"He's not here to help me, he's here to witness your defeat at my hands!" Pancham shouts as it got into a boxing stance with its knees shoulder-width apart, its left foot was half a step in front of its right, both feet were turned 45 degrees, and its knees were slightly bent. Pancham's elbows were tucked comfortably on of its ribs to protect them, its right arm was held closer to its face while its left arm was slightly in front of its right.
"Come get this ass whooping," Abra says calmly as it loosely copies Pancham's stance due to being curious. Pancham crept forward a bit, coming into the range that could hit Abra, as it bounce its feet and move its upper body side to side to confuse Abra. Suddenly Pancham stepped forward with its left leg with its left arm following straight into Abras face with a jab before quickly bringing its limb into its starting position.
Abra was surprised, normally Pancham wouldn't be able to hit it unless Pancham counters one of its moves. Taking this more seriously Abra ignited its left paw, hand? Let's go with hands. It also electrified its right hand. Lycian was very surprised by this, an Abra that uses physical moves primarily? Sign him up. Pancham came in for another jab which Abra quickly dodged to Pancham's right, however, the jab was a feint and was quickly followed by a right hook that hit Abra straight in the stomach before Pancham hit again this time with an uppercut which knocked Abra back a bit.
Getting ticked off, Abra decided to stop playing the waiting game and went in with a left jab. Pancham, seeing the punch coming, rolled with it, drastically reducing its effectiveness. Abra seeing that its jab wasn't effective came in with its right hand trying to do the ol' one-two. Pancham ducked under the punch before hitting Abra with another uppercut. "See, I'm winning this time. Just come, and let me knock you down already." As per the agreement with the two rivals whoever gets knocked on their ass loses because the other could get eaten by what predator passes by if they were knocked out.
"You kicking my ass? Alright, come knock this down." Abra starts to throw a flurry of punches at Pancham. In the background, Lycian was muttering "ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA." Pancham saw the opportunity to end the fight, so it start to bob n' weave, ducking under all of Abras punches as it slowly got closer. Once it was close enough Pancham did its finishing two-hit combo. Pancham hits Abra with an unsuspecting left jab straight in the face then finishes with an uppercut to the chin, knocking Abra into the air slightly before Abra lands on its ass.
The forest was dead silent for a second before Pancham starts to cheer loudly, "Yes Sir! I finally beat him." Pancham ran over to Lycian, and hugged him while shouting his thank-yous, Lycian tried to get Pancham off him but it didn't work, and Mizuchi just smirked at his suffering when Lycian asked him for help. Although Abra lost it was strangely happy for Pancham, that is until Pancham says something that hit it with a wave of depression. "Since I won I'll gladly join your team!" The person that it could call a friend was leaving, it would be all alone again.
Mizuchi seeing Abra's depressed state walked over to it. "You don't have to be alone." "What." "I said you don't have to be alone. You can come with us." "But, would your trainer let me join." "Sure he would, he picked me when I was an outcast, why wouldn't he pick you as well." Abra was shocked to discover another outcast, it thought that it was the only one to be different from its species. Maybe it was best to go with them to meet other outcasts and help them just like Froakie is offering to help it.
Lycian who just captured Pancham in its new Pokeball shouted to get Abra's attention. "Hey, Abra! Do you want to join us on our adventure? It would be a crime to separate two rivals." Abra was surprised but happy. Yes, it should join the group to help other outcasts while going on an adventure, plus it could get a rematch with Pancham. Yes, it will definitely join.
