How Bowser's Fury should have ended.

Bowser's head is feeling extremely heavy. Once again he has been defeated by Mario.

But this time… this time it may actually be a just defeat. He had lost control of himself, and of course we know Bowser as a villain. He has been siding with Mario too in the past. Like when Peach's voice was stolen, or at least they thought it had been stolen – but that's another story. So how could he blame Jr. for siding with Mario for a good purpose? It doesn't make sense. Him and Mario have always hated each others, but when there is something evil against everyone, good and evil must unite. He is so glad that Jr. removed his demonic inner self. It had never been Bowser's intention to destroy the whole world. He just wants Peach, and nothing else.

It wasn't even the first time that someone took over his body. This time he however nearly killed his own son! How could he ever forgive himself for that? Bowser has a lot a to make up.

„I… I just wasn't myself", he stuttered. „Where… where is Jr.?"

Bowser gets to the water and swims to a small island where he sees his 6-year-old son standing there, looking in the sky.

Bowser doesn't know what to say. „Jr., please… please listen."

Jr. chokes and listens up. „Papa, I'm s-sorry for fighting against you… I… I could have killed you."

„I could have killed you too", Bowser says. „No need to beat yourself up."

That wasn't enough to calm the crown prince. „I sided with your worst enemy", Jr. mumbles, his eyes getting wet. „You should ground me for that."

„C'mon, please don't cry, kiddo", Bowser says with an unusual soft voice. „You have no reason to beat yourself up. You saved the world, I nearly destroyed it. You were extremely brave. I can't describe how proud I am of you."

But not even that stops Bowser Jr. from actually breaking down in tears. „I'm… I'm sorry Jr.", Bowser says, heavily choking. „I wasn't myself. Maybe I'm not a good father." He gives his son a hug, but then feels his eyes getting wet as well.

„No Papa!", Jr. screams. „I guarantee ya, you are not. I'd be nothing without you." He tries to smile. „Can you say again what you just said."

Bowser, trying his best not to cry, says: „I'm proud of ya. And there never was a 6-year-old as brave as you were. I mean it."

Bowser Jr. is still crying, but this time out of joy. „But please don't do that again! Can you imagine how much I missed ya?"

Bowser holds Jr. even tighter, he still has to choke heavily. It is the worst kind of guilt one could ever feel, even the fact that his son is now smiling over having his father back, couldn't make him joyful.

Luckily, before he manages to blame himself even more, Mario comes around.

Mario also doesn't know what to say. „Well, Bowser, you have-a been my main enemy…"

„This time I can't blame ya", Bowser says. „I am glad that my son saved me and you… you protected my son from myself?

Mario just nods.

Bowser remains silent for a couple seconds, then he says „thank you!" to Mario. „In spite of our rivalry, you are a great fighter. And a great company for my son too, without you his life would have been ruined permanently."

Now it is Mario who has to choke. „T… thanks. I… I gotta go."

„OK", Bowser just says with a smile. „Goodbye, my best rival."

Now Bowser found his joy back too. He gives Jr. another hug and both smile into the sunset.
