Hey Everyone, Here is just a short little thing I wrote up as some sort of therapy that I need from watching this show. I'm in the middle of season 2, but I have seen just so many Instagram post about the show so I basically know the gist of what happens in season 3/4.
Anyways this story seems like it takes place near the halfway point of season 2, before she meets Luka.
I hope you enjoy, as always, I do not own these characters, but am blessed to be able to manipulate them to do my bidding.

Tikki/Plagg Mix Up: A Miraculous Reveal
Marinette grinned stupidly as she looked through her phone as she was getting ready to go to school. As was unfortunately normal, she was running a bit late, but that didn't mean that she couldn't stop and check out the new ad that popped up for the Gabriel brand featuring none other than Adrien.
It seemed like her brain had stopped working as she kept staring at the ad, Adrien being put in an amazing new coat from Gabriel's new fall line, that was a really nice red color. With some black on the edges giving it a nice outline.
'Adrien is wearing Ladybug colors!' Marinette thought dreamily, 'he looks so good in that coat, I hope he wears it to school!' "Oh no, school!" She said, breaking out of her daze and only after calling Tikki to hide in her coat she slung her backpack onto her shoulders and ran down the stairs only stopping to grab a croissant and say a quick goodbye to her parents as she raced to school.
"Where have you been?" Alya questioned as she raced into class and into her seat next to her best friend.
"I'll tell you later," she said with a glance in front of her at Adrien, not wanting him to overhear about her crush on him.
It had seemed that Adrien had worn the coat from the ad as it was draped over the back of his seat. Getting a closer look, her designer side took hold and she was fascinated by the design of the coat. The stitching was flawless, if not the slightest bit uneven, telling her that this wasn't the finished product and had likely been stitched by hand.
Realizing that the bell would ring soon, Marinette took out her phone and took some photos at a couple different angles when the teacher turned her back. Luckily Adrien didn't notice either.
After class, Alya had dragged Marinette out and into the courtyard of the school.
"Soo, would you like to tell me why you were late? Or maybe why you were taking pictures of a certain someone's coat?"
Marinette flushed red as she realized exactly how her taking pictures must have looked. Luckily she knew that the rest of the class knew about her crush on Adrien, and Chloe and Sabrina sat in the front row so they most likely hadn't seen either.
"Ok, I was late to school because I got a bit distracted looking at Adrien's new ad where he is wearing that coat" She said sheepishly. "And when I saw that he had brought it to school, I just needed to know how it was put together so wonderfully, how Gabriel does their initial mockups as that is something I don't have much experience in."
"I might be able to help you a bit there" Alya said, grinning a bit too much for Marinette to feel comfortable.
Alya looked around and spotted her boyfriend before turning back to Marinette.
"You had better get to the next class. I'll meet you there."
She then ran off to where Nino was standing calling his name.
The rest of the day was pretty normal for Marinette, as she was unable to get more pictures of Adrien's coat. As the last school bell rang, Marinette was waiting for Alya in the courtyard so they could walk over to the bakery together. She was a little confused where Alya went and was just about to call her when she heard her name called out.
"Marinette!" She turned to see who was calling her name only to find that it was Adrien walking over!
"A-A-Adrien, w-what you do want? I mean, want w-what do you," She took a deep breath, "What do you w-want?"
Adrien gave a little laugh, "Nino told me that you were interested in my coat, he said something about you being interested in how my father does mock ups for a new product. I thought that I could do a friend a favor and let you take some pictures of it so you can figure it out!"
"Love I would that! Uh uh uh, I mean I w-would love that A-A-Adrien!" Proud of herself that she was able to get that out somewhat coherently.
"Ok, I would love to just give it to you, but I don't think my father would like that too much. Pictures should be fine though."
Marinette just nodded, not trusting her words as here she was having a one-on-one conversation with Adrien. He handed her the jacket and she placed it on the bench next to her and pulled out her phone so she could capture every stitch and material that was used.
Adrien was chuckling to himself behind her as he kept hearing phrases like "wow", "why have I never thought of that", and "oh my god!" He was really interested in whether Marinette would be able to make something out of his new coat. He remembered how she won the competition that his father held, standing up to Chloe. He kind of felt a bit sheepish that he really didn't know much about Marinette. She was one of his first friends, and he really didn't know much about her. It didn't help that she couldn't have a normal conversation with him. He thought that he would have to come up with some ideas later that night, barring any akuma attacks.
Marinette just about finished taking all of her pictures, when Alya came running over.
"I hope you two had fun, but we need to get going."
"Hi Alya, I don't know what took you so long, but you're right, we do need to go, especially if we are going to stop at the fabric store before we head home. I'll text my parents that we'll be a bit late."
Adrien watched as Alya and Marinette ran out presumably to go to the store. A little nugget had gotten into his brain that held curiosity for Marinette. He realized as he stepped into his car and it drove away that even with school he was still quite lonely. His only real good friends were Nino and Ladybug, although she was more of his partner, not to mention that he was in love with her. Chloe was his childhood friend, but she was not the type of person that he really considered an actual friend with how annoying she could get. You could tell by how many akumas she influences.
As he got home, Nathalie informed him that his father would return from his business trip tomorrow morning. Getting into his room, he pulled out a notepad and pencil and started to write down some qualities that he could remember about Marinette. At the top of his list was 'late', as well as 'fashion'. He had to think a bit about how he had seen her act in class to come up with others. He wrote down 'brave' as he remembered how she had stood up to Chloe when she ran for class rep, and he also wrote down 'selfless' as he remembered seeing her helping the students get out of harm's way when an akuma attack happened. He wrote down 'shy', thinking of how she always stuttered near him, but then erased it because of how he saw her talking with others. He finished his list with 'funny?' as it seemed that she always was able to make Alya laugh sitting behind him and Nino, although he couldn't hear any of the jokes so he would reserve judgement on that until he knew how they stacked up to his own wonderful cat puns.
After a quick check of the Ladyblog to see if there were any akumas, thankfully tonight seemed quiet, he started looking over the list when he got interrupted by his kwami.
"We've been home for almost 20 minutes now, and even though your new coat is pretty comfortable, this cat needs his cheese!"
"Plagg, the cheese I left in my coat pocket was supposed to last you the entire day, did you eat it all this morning?" He asked, trying not to be upset with his kwami's antics.
"It was so good, that once I started eating I just couldn't help myself! Now can I have some more?" Plagg asked, his eyes trying to make an impression of a puppy dog.
"Only a little. I still haven't gotten in the next order for the week, so there isn't much left."
"Awww!"
After getting Plagg his cheese, Adrien went to look at his list. He was honestly surprised to see that many of these he saw in Ladybug. Stopping to think, he realized that while Marinette was more shy and subtle about it the similarities to Ladybug were definitely there. Adrien then sat back and thought, 'Well isn't it great that both my lady and my friend are great people? Isn't it great having two awesome people like that in my life?'

Back over at Marinette's bedroom, she was hard at work trying to replicate the coat while having a discussion with Alya.
"Thank you, thank you so much! I wonder what Adrien will say when we have matching coats! I hope he wears it to school tomorrow."
"Girl, from what I heard from Nino, Adrien loves the new coat! He'll definitely be wearing it tomorrow."
"Oh my gosh, It's going to be so cute, if only I can get these stitches right," Marinette said, trying really hard to replicate the photos that she took, swiping back and forth between two angles.
After a quick break for dinner, Marinette went back to working on the coat.
'It's nice that Adrien's coat already has an inside pocket so I won't forget to add one for Tikki!' Marinette thought as she was putting the finishing touches on the coat.
"Done!" She shouted more to herself than Alya, who was getting ready to go home herself.
"It looks great, come on, try it on before I have to leave!"
Marinette took the coat and put it on, and went to look in front of her mirror.
"Wow girl, you are good." came from Alya who was admiring her work.
"I really did it, didn't I?" Marinette said with the beginnings of a blush, still not quite used to getting blatant compliments on her work.
"Of course you did! I never doubted you. Now you just need to be able to talk to Adrien about it tomorrow." Alya winked.
"GAAHHH!" Marinette froze up before getting a determined look on her face. "I got this!"
"Sure you do" Alya said, the touch of sarcasm coming from experience.

The next morning, Marinette was once again running late for school, as she had stayed up later than she would have wanted to, having a fashion show and photo shoot with Tikki.
"Sorry I'm late Ms. Bustier!" she said as she rushed into class, as the rest of the class just let out a small chuckle.
Luckily she wasn't interrupting the lesson, but she was getting looks from the rest of her class about the coat. 'They probably think that I was able to get an early version of the Gabriel coat, not that I made this myself' she thought with a bit of pride.
After class, all of her classmates not named Chloe and Sabrina were admiring the work that she had done with the jacket, even Adrien who was super impressed with her work. She was glad that all of her other classmates were also by her so she wasn't a blubbering mess around Adrien.
During the rest of the school day, Marinette was a bit worried that an akuma would show up, especially since she hadn't heard much from Chloe that day but none came and soon they had their final class of the day, gym. The class went into the locker room to get ready and Marinette coincidentally hung her coat up right next to Adrien's.
As the class left the locker room and went into the gym, Plagg and Tikki came out of their inside pockets and gave each other a hug.
"Sugarcube, I missed you!"
"Missed you too you stinky sock, How is your boy doing?"
"Ah Adrien, He is great, always has cheese for me!"
Tikki shook her head. "Is cheese all you think about?"
"It is the most important thing in the world"
"Well Marinette is just so amazing, her parents are bakers, so I can have all the cookies! She's also the sweetest girl!"
The two kwamis talked a bit and played around chasing each other through the locker room until gym was over and the door to the locker room opened. Tikki and Plagg dived into their pockets to avoid being seen.
Marinette grabbed her coat and her bag and with a quick goodbye to Alya headed home so she could work on some homework before having fun on some designs.

As she got home, Marinette greeted her parents with hugs and told them all about how her classmates were so impressed with her work on the coat. She took a couple chocolate croissants upstairs with her, one for herself and one for Tikki.
"Tikki, you can come on out now!" She said as she closed her hatch. When nothing happened, she shook her coat a bit thinking that Tikki might be asleep and she added, "I got chocolate croissants!" When even then, nothing happened, she put her hand into her coat and she did feel her kwami inside the pocket.
She brought out the kwami and when she opened her hand she gasped! In her hands was not the red fom of Tikki that she was expecting, but a little black cat creature with cute little cat ears.
"Who are you? Are you Chat Noir's kwami?" She asked, as why else would there be a kwami like figure in the shape of black cat.
"I guess I can talk as you already know about us kwamis. Ladybug I assume?" Marinette nodded her head as the creature did a 180 on personality, becoming a lot more energetic. "Plagg here at your service, and quick question, do you happen to have any camembert? It's my favorite! But now that that has been asked, I need to find a way to get back to my boy. I assume he has Tikki with him so we need to figure out how to swap back, hopefully without revealing identities.
"It's kind of hard not to be able to reveal identities now that this has happened, I mean like what happens if an akuma attack happens before I can get you back to Chat Noir? And with the limited opportunities for you and Tikki to be switched in the first place, meaning that Chat is probably a student at least in my school if not in my class. Now I can just go down the list of people who have been akumatized in our class to rule them out." Marinette just took a deep breath to calm herself down. She didn't want her parents to hear her yelling. "I'm so going to kill Tikki when I get her back" she muttered under her breath.
"So It can't be Ivan as he was Stoneheart, Nino was The Bubbler, Nathaniel was the Evillustrator, Kim was Dark Cupid, Max was The Gamer; That just leaves, EEP!" Marinette jumped up in realization. "That just leaves Adrien! No, Adrien just can't be Chat Noir," she said in a sort of denial. Another bit of realization hit her. "Chat Noir being Adrien does make sense, I do have to admit, our coats were next to each other in Gym when you two could have gotten out and switched by accident." Marinette then checked her coat for her own design symbol and found it, grateful that she hadn't taken Adrien's coat by accident.
"So since you figured it out on your own I guess I should confirm, yes Adrien is Chat Noir and I need to get back to him as fast as possible" Plagg said, sounding a bit desperate.
Marinette then had a major realization and squeeked while jumping up on her chair while grabbing a pillow to hide behind. "That means that Adrien is in love with me!" Marinette's expression became dreamy as she lost all focus of the world.
A couple moments later, Marinette's phone popped up with a Ladyblog update about an akuma attack breaking her out of her happy thoughts, and then right after a phone call from a random number before she could freak out about the akuma too much. Marinette picked up the phone.

School had just ended and Adrien was not too happy to be home as he had gotten a text from Nathalie during the school day about some pictures that his friends had taken of Marinette's coat. He wasn't exactly hopeful that his father would be happy about it but he was still happy about helping Marinette and she had been so happy that day wearing her own coat during the school day and she did a fantastic job on it.
Getting out of his car, he walked into his house and straight to his room without even seeing Nathalie or his father. 'How weird' he thought as he climbed into his bed. Something seemed off, so he set about thinking what it was. The smell of cheese that constantly was in his room clued him in. Plagg hadn't come out asking for cheese like he normally did when he got home from school.
"Plagg, are you ok?'' he asked in the direction of his coat, and when he didn't get a reply he walked over and dipped his hand in the pocket. He felt relief as he felt a Kwami sized bundle, but was instantly reworried as he brought out a red creature with a black spot on its head, it almost looked like a…
"You're Ladybug's kwami aren't you?"
"Hi Adrien, I'm Tikki." She said, quite worried how this situation might play out.
"Do you know where Plagg is?" Adrien asked, worried for his little friend.
"My best guess would be with Ladybug," Tikki answered.
Adrien started pacing. "Oh no! So how do we switch you two back? Ladybug would kill me if we knew each other's identity."
"It may not be possible to keep each other's identities safe now" Tikki said, "It's all his fault, he dived into a pocket first, he just had to choose the wrong one!" Tikki said, then put her hands to her mouth.
Adrien noticed the tell tale sign that she had said something she shouldn't have, and his mind was hard at work. It didn't take long to realize what she meant as pockets had to be talking about his coat.
"Wait, by 'wrong pocket', were you supposed to go into Marinette's coat that she made?"
"Umm, yes" Tikki said softly knowing she couldn't keep the secret anymore.
"Tikki do you know what this means?"
"It means a lot of things, what exactly are you thinking?"
"If Ladybug is Marinette then I'm in love with Marinette. God I'm so stupid, I evenmade this list yesterday", He got out the list of Marinette's characteristics that he wrote. "How could I be so blind? I just thought that these traits matched Ladybug's by coincidence, but no, they are both the same person! She's always been quite pretty but I was too caught up on Ladybug to even think about that!"
"Slow down loverboy, first things first, getting us back to our owners."
Adrien grinned sheepishly. "Ah right, well I don't have Marinette's number so I'll have to ask Nino."
Adrien texted Nino asking for Marinette's number ASAP as he said there was something he needed to tell her. Nino texted back right away that he didn't have her number but gave him Alya's number so he could get it. He then texted Alya asking for Marinette's number who gave it to him with a couple of winky faces. Adrien flushed bright pink. He was broken out of his thoughts by Tikki.
"Adrien there is an akuma attack, the Ladyblog just posted, you need to get me to her as quickly as possible!"
Adrien then called Marinette. Luckily she picked up. "Hi M'lady, or should I say Princess? I got your number from Alya whose number I got from Nino. I heard our kwamis got a bit confused by our matching coats this afternoon, and we need to face this akuma. Would you be willing to meet me at the school as soon as you can?"
"Mmhm" came the reply as Marinette was still processing that her huge crush was her partner. She hung up the phone, and she pulled on her coat and rushed downstairs, telling her mom she needed to meet a friend before rushing out the door.
Marinette got to the school quickly, as she was used to getting there in a hurry. She hid behind a pillar as she could hear the akumatized villain from a couple blocks down. As she was waiting for Adrien, she gave herself a mental pep talk. 'Adrien is the same person as my partner, and I talk to Chat Noir perfectly fine. Him being Adrien doesn't change anything.' she only half believed it and soon Adrien was rushing towards the school, luckily the villain was in a different direction down the street.
When Adrien got to the school, Marinette came out of her hiding spot and dragged him into the locker room as she knew there were no after school extracurriculars going on that day.
"We can talk later kitty cat" she said, actually saying all of her words right, it helped a lot to just think of him as Chat Noir. "First we stop the akuma."
"I'll hold you to that M'lady."
Tikki and Plagg flew out and gave their humans a kwami sized hug and then were ready to transform.
"Tikki, spots on!"
"Plagg, claws out!"
In a flash, they were both transformed.
"Where is this villain Purrched M'lady?"
After a slight cringe at that pun, Ladybug answered, "It was coming down the street the other way from where you came, towards the Eiffel Tower."
"Sounds like a plan, race you there!"
"Silly Kitty, you're on!"
They both exited into the school courtyard and flung themselves away. When they got to the Eiffel Tower they noticed the villain in the middle. It seemed like this one must be a doctor as Hawkmoth had given him the power to fling colored bandages that put people under his control.
Ladybug also saw Alya hiding behind a building filming, probably for the Ladyblog. She also noticed his stethoscope that was prominently around his neck.
Not wanting to drag on this fight, she just went straight for her "Lucky Charm." Throwing her yoyo into the air, she came down with an IV bag. Not knowing what to do with it, she looked around. She noticed her yoyo, one of the lamp posts as well as Chat Noir's hand. She knew what she had to do.
She climbed the light post, seeing the Minions coming towards her.
"Ladybug you are surrounded, give me your Miraculous!" The doctor villain guy said.
"Never, Chat Noir, Use Cataclysm on the street!"
"Ok, I trust you M'lady. Cataclysm!"
Chat Noir put his hand down on the street and cracks started to spread. This shift in the ground knocked all of the minions down, giving Ladybug the time she needed to launch her yoyo tied to the needle of the IV at the Doctor. Her shot rang true, as the needle went into the neck of the Doctor and he was out like a light. Ladybug then walked up to him and took the stethoscope and smashed it, releasing the akuma.
"No more evil doing for you little akuma! Time to de-evilize!"
She caught the akuma in her yoyo and opened it.
"Bye bye little butterfly!"
Marinette threw the IV bag up in the air and shouted, "Miraculous Ladybug!" a swarm of ladybugs and red colored energy came and put everything back to normal. The akumatized villain came back to himself in a wave of purple.
"Pound it!" The two superheroes gave a fist bump as they both heard beeping coming from their miraculouses.
"Gotta go, bug out!"
"See you all later!" Chat Noir followed Ladybug in the same direction as he jumped out not realizing that this was the first time this had happened, although that fact was not lost on a particular journalist who followed their exit with her camera.
Getting back to the school they both met up in the locker room as their transformations wore off.
"Well Princess, is it time to have that talk now?"
Marinette took a deep breath knowing that she could get her words out straight. "Yes that sounds good, would you like to come over to the bakery? I made a list of things that we would talk about if our identities ever got revealed. Although I guess I need to add some new ones now that I know that it is you under the mask."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Adrien asked.
Marinette blushed hard. "Oh, um, n-nothing, we'll talk about it later."
Both of their phones went off at the same time and Marinette saw that it was a Ladyblog update. Opening it up she read the article about her and Chat leaving in the same direction and Alya speculating that they were together. She groaned a little in the back of her mind.
"Well I guess that answers one of the questions I needed to add." she said as she started to walk towards the exit of the school. She looked back at Adrien and asked him, "can you follow behind me to the bakery? I don't want anyone seeing us leave the school together and start snooping."
"Yeah sure," Adrien said back, half dejected but recognizing that she made a bit of sense.
As Marinette left the room, Adrien was walking on a cloud. He had found his lady and to add to that, she was his princess. Marinette was literally so perfect he had fallen for her once and had been starting to fall for her a second time!" He then remembered Ladybug talking about another guy and his whole good mood seemed to evaporate.
He walked out of the locker room and started over to the bakery. Once he was outside, he put on his best smile although he wasn't feeling it. Walking inside the bakery, he was greeted by wonderful smells, actually helping to improve his mood a bit. He was met by Marinette's father behind the counter.
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
"Hi Mr. Dupain, um, Marinette invited me over, do you know where she might be?"
"Ah yes, Adrien right?" Adrien nodded. "She should be upstairs in her room, it's at the top of the stairs all the way up. Just leave the hatch open and no funny business." He said with a look that any boy would fear from a girl's father.
"Sounds good sir," Adrien said and he went his way up the stairs. Getting to the top he was met with Marinette's room with the walls a lot more plain than he would have thought they would be.
Marinette was just so relieved that she got lucky as when she told Adrien to walk after her, she didn't even think of all of the pictures she had of him on her walls, and was just able to shove them all in a drawer before he came upstairs. When he was upstairs and looking around, she attempted to close her hatch but he had stopped her in kind of a panic, and she realized that her dad had probably threatened him a bit. Laughing, she took his hand off her arm, only blushing a little and closed the hatch.
"I don't need my parents hearing that I'm Ladybug and when that thing is open it's like the whole house can hear what I'm doing. Also it is better for letting Tikki and Plagg out to play if they have even the slightest bit of time to hide as someone coming up needs to open it."
The two Kwamis did exactly that and started flying around Marinette's room playing some sort of tag, both excited about many more opportunities to see each other.
"Well then you will have to be the one that saves me from your father M'lady." Adrien said with a sad smile, a bit jealous of the kwamis.
"I will, although I don't think he was as serious as he thought, also you will need to stop calling me that when we have the masks off, I'm really serious about this, especially at school."
"Ok, I think I can restrain myself. I do have one big important question," he asked rather slowly, and dejectedly, almost as if he didn't want to know the answer. "Ladybug always tells me there is another guy that she likes, so can you please tell me who it is so I can have some closure?"
At this Marinette just blushed hard, which was not the reaction that he expected.
"Um…" she said, taking her time. "His name is Adrien. Adrien Agreste."
There. She had said it, it was all in the open. Adrien's face just lit up.
"Wait so you're saying that you rejected me because you were in love with … me?" He said, his amusement clear to see
"Well, I didn't know it was you under the mask." she said dryly.
"That is just so funny, I can't wait to see you everyday at school, give you hugs whenever I feel like it, surprise you from behind while you're talking with Alya …"
"Hold on kitty. One of the things I wanted to talk about was staggering our relationships. The rest of Paris can't have any connection between us and the superheroes. While I would love to say that we could come out in a relationship first, I feel that because of Alya's Ladyblog post, it would seem that Chat and Ladybug need to come out as a couple first. Then once their relationship is established, I don't know, a month and a half let's say, then we can make our relationship public."
Adrien sighed. While he loved his superhero side and how it gave him so much freedom, he wished that he didn't have to wait to be in a public relationship with Marinette, but she did make a lot of sense, it wouldn't do to drive any suspicions, especially since when the superhero duo got together then Hawkmoth would be on the search for new couples trying to figure out their identities.
"I guess you're right M'la… Marinette" Adrien said, just covering up his slip of the tongue, although not hating how her name sounded as he said it. He then did something that he had wanted to do since meeting Ladybug, he kissed her.
The two of them parted ways that evening with the biggest of smiles on their faces.

After the two defeated another akuma in the school courtyard the next day, the two pounded it and then Ladybug grabbed Chat Noir's arm and dragged him over to Alya where she was still filming.
"Alya right," Alya just nodded, starstruck. "I saw your article yesterday and I wanted to let you in on this new exclusive scoop!" Ladybug then pulled Chat Noir in and kissed him. The courtyard went up in cheers, as most everybody in the school was cheering.
The two swung and jumped away and by the end of the day everyone was talking about the two superheroes in a relationship. Alya was of course over the moon about one of her ships working out and was telling Marinette that she had good feelings about her other one.

About a month and a week later, Marinette was sick of waiting to reveal her and Adrien's relationship so she asked him if he wanted to go to the movies and when he gave a resounding 'YES!' she texted Alya that Adrien asked her to the movies. Alya was obviously just over the moon and the two had a girls afternoon deciding on what she would wear as well as how to do her hair. They eventually settled on wearing the coat that Marinette made as well as letting her hair down.
When Monday came, Adrien's car rolled around to the Bakery and picked Marinette up to drive her to school, the two cuddling in the backseat.
The two walked hand in hand into the school in matching coats to the chorus of Awws from their friends.
