Shogakukan Ltd. Known as one of the most popular and largest publishing companies in Japan, the demands and fame of the books and magazines published by it remained always high, on fire. So was the highrise, multistoried building of their headquarters, penetrating the clouds and kissing the stars with its peak. The night, of course, was dark. Nothing was there in the murky sky except the little, twinkling stars. Under the thick coat of ink, most of the buildings became invisible. Well, except the head office of the publishing company. The switches of most of the rooms were turned off as they were darkened, showing the night suburb that the workers had already left. Then again, save one or two in one of the upper floors.

Kai Hiwatari and Hilary Tachibana-both were top-ranked workers. Determination, hard work, ideas, creativity, intelligence-no matter which quality was mentioned, they could be found in both of them-in an equal amount. They were equally admired and respected by most of their colleagues. Even their boss was also quite satisfied with them, at their efforts. But only one of them could be the next CEO of the company. That's why, the amount of their hard work also increased at that period. They were seen before their desktops, their fingers smiting on the keyboards and raising storms over them. Ruby and amethyst eyes were sharply fixed on the screens of their monitors. They were so indulged in their tasks that they didn't notice that all their co-workers had already left the office, one by one.

A soft click on the knob of the door could be heard. Following that, when the door opened, a navy-haired guy strode in, around the age of the brunette and a little younger than the dual-haired Russian. He was looking quite tired, working all the day in the office. However, noticing the bone-shattering energy of two of his best friends, his eyebrows literally touched his forehead. Neither Kai nor Hilary noticed him properly, absorbed in their own desk jobs. Slapping on his temple, the blunette huffed, "Oh Gosh Hils, how much do you work? You'll get dark circles under your pretty ruby eyes, sweetheart."

Kai coughed, not stopping typing and clicking his mouse, not even giving any glance at the brunette or the blunette. Hilary glared at her navy-haired co-worker once, removing her stares from the screen, "I don't think I'll be able to go soon, Tyson. There are a lot of chores now which I have to complete within no time. You can leave if you have any problem to stay here."

"Hn…" The Russian whispered, trying to adjust a photo on the coverpage of a book, "Looks like I don't have to be bored anymore."

"What?" Tyson frowned, "What do you mean, Kai? You're coming with me, aren't you?"

"Nope," Kai shook his head, "I also have got jobs."

"Woah!" The blunette exclaimed, rolling his eyes, "I didn't know that you two were planning to stay here together tonight."

"Excuse me?" Hilary again threw a gawk at him, "What do you mean by planning?"

"I mean what I have just said," Tyson's pupils got cornered a bit, "You and Kai."

"Listen," The brunette put her hands on her hips annoyedly, "I won't go and it's completely my own decision. Kai won't go and it's completely his own decision. How will I know about it and how will Kai know about mine by the way?"

'Huh….' The Russian sighed, lowering his typing speed a little, 'These two will never change.'

"Okay okay," Tyson threw his hands up in surrendering to Hilary, "You both stay here, I'm getting lost!"

Turning back, the blunette straightly strode out of the room through the opened door. Hilary sighed, noticing his antique. When she turned to Kai, he gave her a sympathetic smile after another sigh, rotating his eyes to his monitor and mind to his usual job again. The heart of the brunette throbbed a bit. She shouldn't have been that ruthless and cocky to Tyson, she realized. She tried to concentrate again but for an unknown reason, she couldn't do it. No, it was well-known to her, she'd hurt Tyson. Now, her soul wouldn't be in peace as long as she couldn't apologize to him. Turning off the monitor, she stood up and went outside, earning another frown from the slate-haired guy who simply chuckled, again, getting back to his own business.

Coming out through the gate of their office, Tyson brushed his hair back once with his fingers and breathed deeply. He was quite stressed and exhausted-both physically and mentally. Not only because of the heavy workload and pressure from the office on him, but also for Kai and Hilary too. He checked his wrist-watch once. 11.00 pm, according to the urban lifestyle, the night was still young. But their office was quite far away from the megacity, in a suburb. That's why, nightfall used to descend here soon after the sunset. Kai was, of course, a gentleman to be trusted even with closed eyes but leaving Hilary alone with him in the large building…Tyson's heart didn't want to agree so easily.

Crossing the road carefully after checking the movement of the vehicles, the navy-haired guy stood beside the railings of the garden, putting his hands there and leaning forward a bit at the night-queens. Those white flowers were fully bloomed, spreading strange cologne in the smooth, cool breeze of the late autumn. They were looking more magical when the silvery street light was falling on them, fulfilling the absence of the moon in the sky quite skillfully. However, their soothing, soulful fragrance also couldn't calm the restless heart of the blunette down. His ego was strictly ordering him to leave the place as soon as possible but his heartbeats were crying, begging to him to stay a bit more. He simpered at those flowers once.

'The queens of night, huh?' He sighed, 'I wonder how they fall silent when the sun rises. Is…our love also pallid and temporary like them?'

Suddenly, the loneliness around him sensed very heavy on his heart, almost crushing it. Unable to tolerate it, quickly, he put out his cellphone and dialed the number of the brunette. Within a few seconds, she picked up the call, "Yeah, tell me."

"Can you come out for a few minutes?" Tyson asked.

"Why?" Hilary frowned as Kai turned his head at her again, "What happened this time? You were supposed to go, weren't you?"

"I…" Tyson gritted his teeth, "Neither I will go, nor will I disturb you both. You can relax."

"If you don't want to go," Hilary was pretty annoyed at the tantrums of the blunette at this time, "Stay here. Who's forbidding you? But why are you calling me?"

"Come down," The blunette tried to sound gentle, "Only after that, you'll get to know."

"Fine." Hilary tiredly nodded, "I'm coming down."

When she cut the call and stood up from her chair, her ruby eyes collided once with the amethysts of his colleague which were looking quite suspicious. Sighing and shrugging to let him know her coercion, she left. Kai only smirked at it, showing no other serious expression. However, not noticing the Russian anymore, Hilary got down and crossed the half-empty road, spotting the blunette roaming there. Crossing her arms on her chest, she asked him, "What happened? Why were you calling me?"

"Well…are you really feeling so attached to Kai?" Restiveness was evident in the pitch of the blunette, "No…but by your behavior nowadays, I mean I think so."

"What's going on in your mind, Tyson?" Hilary pressed her forehead out of irritation by the possessive behavior of her boyfriend, "Look…it's our office. Here, we are only colleagues. I'm halting at an interesting point…I thought I would sit with both of you and discuss how to let the plot progress, thinking upon it once. But no, you started behaving like a child and made my brain hang! Hmph!"

"Okay okay…" Tyson's voice got lowered as he squeezed her shoulders, "I'm sorry, Hils. You could tell me that you were thinking about a new plot for our latest magazine. Anyways, tell me what the plot is."

In the infuriated ruby eyes of the brunette, wave of enthusiasm and excitement twinkled. She smirked at the blunette, "Murder mystery."

"Hm…." Kai leaned back against his chair, spreading his arms on the handles and gawking at his chocolate-haired colleague, "So, your plot has three characters. They are three friends; playing a game in which they want to murder each other."

"Yes." Hilary nodded, veering her gazes to Tyson whose eyes were sharply placed on both of them.

"Here, no one is going to survive," The Russian analyzed, "Quite nice and intriguing, I must say. But…how can I help here?"

"Well…." Hilary stood up from the sofa, "Here's a condition. In this story, all the three characters have to express their respective last desire. Since everyone is bound to die, everyone has to say their last wish. The other two will help him or her to fulfill that wish. In this case, nobody will be allowed to interrupt or hinder one another. The wish…it can be about anything. But nobody can attack one another directly."

Tyson bit his lips in anxiety and suspense. On the other hand, a smirk rose in the corners of Kai's lips. Hilary continued, "I mean…of course, the friends can apply techniques to murder one another but there can be no straight assault. Okay?"

The blunette yawned, turning his head away from his colleagues as the brunette said, "Oh, one more thing. As long as the game isn't ending, nobody is allowed to leave the location."

"Hn…" Kai scratched his chin, "So…what do you want now?"

"Simple," Hilary shrugged, "We will perform the roles of the three friends here now."

Tyson's eyes shot widened in shock and surprises. Whereas, Kai's pupils became narrowed a bit, both in suspicion and suppressed excitement as the latter was expressed by another smirk worn by his lips. Hilary felt amused. She turned to the navy-haired guy, rubbing her hands together, "We have to do it to build the plot properly. What do you think about it, Tyson? Intriguing, isn't it?"

"Well…" Tyson gulped, trying to avoid the situation raised by the brunette, "I'm from marketing department, these plots cannot enter my brain, don't know why."

Kai facepalmed, noticing the tints of nervousness and trembling of the hands and feet of the blunette. For changing the topic, the blunette spoke, "Well…I…I am feeling very cold here. Can I get some wine?"

"Cold?" Hilary simpered, "Heh…do one thing. Wrap a blanket around yourself and have a comfortable sleep. I and Kai will be enough to design the plot properly."

"Okay okay…I'm in too…" Tyson huffed for the sake of his possessiveness and self-respect, "Kai…please, get some drinks here."

"Not bad at all," The Russian chuckled, "I'm bringing it."

As Kai went in, sighing, the brunette turned to Tyson, holding his hands and giving him a pleading look. Clenching her teeth, she spoke, "If you cannot think upon a murder plot seriously, what will be my profit by bringing you here?"

"Profit?" Tyson cocked a brow, "I used to think that our relationship isn't based on any kind of profit or loss, Hils. We are committed to each other, don't forget that."

"Not again," Hilary narrowed her eyes at the blunette, "You're again bringing our personal relationship here. I told you to think professionally, didn't I? I'm doing a job here, Tyson. At this moment, it is more important for me than the relationship between us, got it?"

"Okay…I'm serious…" Tyson tried to calm his girlfriend down, "No need to be so agitated, Hils."

Meanwhile, the Russian came out from the pantry, with a circular, white porcelain tray on which there were three tall, transparent champagne flutes. Two of them were filled with red wine while another had white wine. He gave an innocent look at the Japanese male as the latter felt relieved, progressing towards his friend and trying to lift one of the goblets.

"Not this," Kai sternly shook his head, pointing at another chalice, "That's yours."

"Huh?" The blunette cocked a brow, "You know it too which worker of this office drinks from which glass? Impressive!"

According to Kai's gesture, Hilary smilingly lifted the glass of her favorite white wine, taking a sip from it, "Kai, I hope you have already thought something about the mystery."

"Yeah," The Russian nodded, swallowing from his red wine, "I have thought something intriguing about the techniques of the murder…." A sly smirk appeared all over his face, "In fact, I have already done it too."

"Hmm…" Hilary asked, "So, whom do you want to murder between us? Me? Or Tyson?"

"Hey!" Tyson felt intrigued too, "Tell me!"

"Hehe…." Kai backbrushed his hair with his fingers, accompanied with another sip, "Tyson is already finished."

Tyson screwed his brows, not able to understand anything. Hilary curiously asked, "How?"

"Wine." The Russian grinned, almost whispering.

When the blunette heard the reply, automatically, coughing fits burst out his throat. With one hand, he clutched it and stepped back, casting his horrified gazes all over his girlfriend and the Russian.

"That had poison," Kai was indifferent to the expression of his friend, "That's why, you were offered the selected goblet."

"Tyson," Hilary turned to her boyfriend, "Tell us your last wish."

"What?" The blunette gulped again, "I'm being murdered and you're so reluctant. You…you won't be sad if I die really, will ya?"

"Why cannot you understand that it's just a game?" The chocolate-haired girl creased her nose, "Hurry up!"

"I…just want to have a little sleep!" The navy-haired guy hung his face low in tiredness and boredom.

"No no, you cannot leave the location like this," Hilary shook her head, compelling her boyfriend to stay with them in the same room, "It's the condition of the game. Just spit out your last condition. After it, we both will ensure it so that you can have a sound sleep."

"I wanna give a bundle of notes as a donation," Tyson still couldn't come out from the trauma given by his colleagues just then, "But the person to whom I will offer the money will have to count the amount in front of my eyes."

"Hmm…." Hilary scratched her chin thoughtfully, "Most of the people use their saliva to count the notes. If any kind of poison is mixed with them, the person can die easily. Good idea it was, but not so impressive, Tyson. After all, all the people in this world don't apply this technique. Anyways, Tyson, whom do you want to murder?"

"Of course, Kai." Tyson was straightforward. However, Kai only returned the smirk.

"I knew," The thumb of the Russian caressed his chin as his coolness was maintained throughout his entire expression, not showing any slight sign of nervousness or agitation, "I put poison in your wine, you'll put poison in my money. Anyways, I'm ready."

"So…." Hilary turned to the Russian, "What's your last wish by the way, Kai?"

"Hn…." Kai didn't answer immediately. Following the deep, deafening silence of a few seconds, he opened his mouth, "It can be anything according to the conditions, right?"

"Yep." The brunette affirmatively nodded, "It's both my and Tyson's responsibility to fulfill your last wish."

"Well…in that case," A sly smirk played all over the face of the Russian again as his cheeks adapted a few lighter shades of pink all of a sudden, "In front of Tyson's eyes, I want to make out with Hilary."

Tyson's jaw dropped; his eyes got widened again at the proposal of one of his closest friends to his girlfriend. Not able to control himself, he yelled, "Hey! What the fuck is going on here?"

"Please!" Hilary stretched a palm to stop Tyson. Her eyes wheeled to the slate-haired Russian as she flushed, nodding, "Well, I'm ready, Kai."

"I just cannot take it anymore!" Tyson seethed, "Hilary, please, stop it!"

"Once the game has begun," Hilary rolled her eyes, "How can I leave it in the midway without having a proper ending, Tyson?"

"What are you waiting for then?" The Russian sat on the sofa, lifting one leg on another thigh, spreading his arms by both the side of the headboard and dropping the wine glass as it clinked on the marble floor of the chamber, spilling all the inebriating, dark-red liquid on the floor and getting shattered into shards, "Seduce me."

Sneering, Hilary advanced towards the Russian, crossing her legs in catwalking style and sat right on his parted thighs, facing him and clutching his collars, thus, pulling him closer to her. Her forehead collided with his, noses touched, intoxicating ruby eyes met the amethyst pools, burning in absolute lust and sensuous desires, growing from his testosterone glands. With one hand, she threw off the spectacles from his eyes, letting the same fire burn in her too, along with him, without any kind of barrier. One of Kai's palms found its way to her tightly tied bun and unfastened it, letting her wavy, thick chocolate locks splay on her back like a loosening dancing step. Hilary's fingers undid the buttons of his lavender shirt one by one, thus, tossing it aside in the end.

Tyson shuddered violently, stepping back and clutching the handle of a chair by his side to maintain his balance. Ignoring his existence in the room completely, Hilary massaged the round, broad shoulders and sturdy triceps of the Russian, causing him to moan which echoed in the eerily silent room and making the head of the blunette throb violently. Before his helpless eyes, Kai was undoing the buttons of the pink shirt of his girlfriend, very slowly as the tongue and lips of the brunette were crazily hovering on the warm, porcelain skin of the Russian, giving a fever to him all of a sudden and suppressing his muffling, seductive whispers with one hand on his mouth. Kai was also no less dominative, squeezing her c-cup breasts bound by her crimson bra, to stimulate her more, making her eyes close in coziness. Their hearts were on a race, along with their breaths.

However, Tyson's blood rose to his brain when Kai clutched the nape of Hilary, pushing her down on the couch and pinning her between his biceps, under his well-toned, bare trunk. He rushed towards the Russian, grabbed his hair from the back and turned him. Before his hand could fall on the cheek of the slate-haired guy in the form of a slap, Hilary quickly held it, standing up from her lying position immediately. Clenching her teeth, she casted a vicious glare at her boyfriend, "I told you that you wouldn't be allowed to attack someone directly as per the rules of this game, Tyson."

"Game?" He hissed with a trembling voice as his eyes welled, "You're my girlfriend, Hilary! We both are committed to each other and making out with another man in front of the eyes of your boyfriend looks like a game to you? What about you, Kai? Didn't your hands tremble a bit to touch Hilary who is already mine? Shame on you both!"

"You…" Hilary was about to attack Tyson but Kai interrupted, stopping them both. Sighing and wiping his sweaty forehead, he spoke, still panting from the animalistic arousal of his hormones, "I'm sorry, Tyson. I…I don't know what got into me at that time. I…I shouldn't have been that desperate."

Placing a palm against a pillar and bending his head down, he huffed, "Anyways, I need a cigarette now."

"Yeah yeah, take it!" Pulling out a packet of brand-new cigarettes from the pocket of his jeans, Tyson flung it at the Russian which the latter grabbed effortlessly. Not having the desire to have his sight anymore before his eyes, Tyson strode back towards his cabin, followed by the brunette after she'd worn her shirt and fixed her hair back. Tyson even didn't wheel back to her as well. Obvious it was, he was irritated with her too. However, Hilary rushed towards him, hugging him from back and pressing one of her cheeks against his backbone, sobbing all of a sudden, biting her inner lips.

"I…I'm sorry, Tyson!" Muffled cries escaped from her throat, "I…I shouldn't have done it. But…trust me, I got so indulged in the game that I myself couldn't know what was happening with me!"

"No Hilary…." Tyson heaved, "I should be the one to say sorry. I became quite hyped which I shouldn't have been, Hils."

"It's okay, Tyson…" The brunette rotated him, squeezing his shoulders, "Trust me, I love you a lot. I just…had to finish my script somehow. Look…look at me, once. Don't…don't be so upset with me, I…I cannot tolerate this at all, please!"

"Hey…calm down…" The blunette cupped the cheeks of his girlfriend, "I have full faith on you, Hilary. I know…you can never cheat me. You're mine and I'm yours, that matters the most."

"Thanks, Tyson…thank you so much…" She placed her head on his chest, wrapping her arms around his torso and bound in his slender, yet, well-toned biceps. Shortly after it, their gazes met each other-not having that burning sensation, yet, a sweetened passion of true, pure love. Tyson's fingers crawled on her cheeks, slowly wiping her tears as his lips lowered to hers, capturing them into his own orifice. Breaths collided with breaths, being inseparable and unidentifiable. Tongues battled against each other, satisfying their respective taste buds. As Hilary won it, accepting his defeat, Tyson brought his tongue out and licked her jaw, lost in the ethereal fragrance of the face-powder that she used. Tiredly sighing, he hung his head low, keeping clinging to his girlfriend.

"Tyson?" She softly whispered by his name, pushing his limp body as it landed on the chair, back thudded against the headboard, neck tilted aside and mouth remained parted a bit. Hilary giggled maniacally at this site, sitting right in front of the lifeless blunette by kneeling down. Stroking one of his cold cheeks, she spoke, "Poison in money, huh? Not everyone uses saliva to count the notes, Tyson. But a kiss on the jaw of your girlfriend in an emotional turmoil? Who in this world can avoid it after all? Hahahaha!"

Laughing at her own skillfulness and intelligence for some time, she stood up, dumping the dead body of her former boyfriend, going to washroom and washing her face properly with facewash. Sprinkling water from the basin on her face for the last time, she faced her reflection created on the oval-shaped, wooden-framed mirror, "I'm sorry, Tyson. Hehe…I knew that you would do it when you would become emotional. That's why, I put the poison in my powder and applied it on my face. Anyways, let's check my new love."

Getting fresh, she went towards Kai's cabin and knocked on the door softly, "Kai? Tyson's game is over. C'mon, it's only me and you now! Let's not waste this time, my man!"

No response came back. Skeptical, Hilary clicked on the door knob as it got opened. However, Hilary's amused ruby orbs became perturbed when she discovered the scene. She wasn't prepared to have it before her eyes at all.

Kai's body was supported against the wall, he was sitting there, propping his back and sprawling his legs straightly on the floor. Eyes were tightly locked in sheer, uncontrollable pain, the cigarette captured between his two lips was still burning. One of his hands was holding the packet of the cigars that had been given to him by the no-more navy-haired guy. Blood was dripping from his nostrils along with the right corner of his mouth, in two slim straight lines. Hilary quickly rushed towards him. Throwing the cigarette off from his mouth, she placed his head on her lap and shook his shoulders, "Kai? What…happened to you? Open your eyes!"

Again, no response. Hilary's eyes became amplified in shock when she got no pulse by putting her fingers on his wrist. His pale skin went whitish, cold as the snowflakes of Russia. The brunette's eyes found the cigarette packet held in his hand as she took it, dumping all the cigarettes from it on the floor. Along with it, a folded aqua-green note also fell down. Curious, she took it and unfolded it, finding out the handwriting of her ex-boyfriend there to her utter shock and dismay:

"Okay, I agree that everyone doesn't use saliva to count notes. But can Kai Hiwatari resist the habit of having cigarettes after makeout? Sorry man, but I knew it far well that Hilary was cheating on me with you. Besides, you wanted to kill me too, didn't you? All I had to do only for my own safety, along with that of Hilary. RIP."

Hilary covered her mouth in horror, tearing the note into pieces and standing up. A gasp escaped from her throat. At the same time, her head started spinning, everything became blurred in front of her eyes. She rushed towards the washroom again, this time, throwing up all the contents that she had eaten that day, into the basin. Blood trickled down from her nostrils and mouth too, a tight pain clogged her chest, obstructing her lungs from breathing. Somehow, she put out her mobile phone from the pocket of her black pencil-skirt. Still, there was an unread message, sent by the late Russian before some time. Somehow, she opened it. Though the texts were fading, she continued reading it:

"Dear Hilary, sorry to say, but it's your last night here. Though I loved you, becoming the CEO of this company was always my dream. For it, you were the only obstruction on my way. I knew…if I couldn't remove you from my path, I would never be able to achieve that throne. In front of the ambition for power, everything fades-even love itself too. That's why, I needed to gain your trust.

See you in the hell, sweetheart."

Hilary couldn't complete reading; nor she did have the time to be more shocked. Her lifeless body thudded on the tiled floor of the washroom as the phone slipped from her hand, breaking into one hundred unrecognizable pieces immediately.

"Breaking news: Today morning, in the head office of Shogakukan Ltd, located in a suburb far away from the capital, one of the most popular publishing companies of Japan, the corpses of a young author, a graphics designer and a marketing officer have been found. All these three murders have created a lurid effect on the rest of the employees of the corporation. Police and detectives are there for the investigation though they haven't found anything major. It has been known that…"

Buhahahahaha! *Bursts out evil laughter* This is Misty, the mafia-queen of ffn site! Before it, you saw her ruthlessly murdering characters, you saw how she destroyed a lot of pairings one by one-but this time, she has gone beyond all the limits, destroying a complete triangle! *Laughs and cries together as her beloved was included in this too*

Readers: Seriously? Kai is really her beloved? *Narrows eyes*

Ahem, seriously he's my beloved, no need to be so suspicious. It's just...I couldn't control my hands. So, once again, I, wholeheartedly apologize to both KaiHil and TyHil shippers, I hope you all will forgive me. (And yeah, for the first time in my life, I killed Tyson and Hilary together in one of my stories...and you can say, I'm quite proud of that :3)

TyHil shippers: Forgiving you? You destroyed our OTP, witch!

KaiHil shippers: You're right, she's a real witch! Let's finish Misty!

*Both types of fans chasing me with brooms*

Misty: Honestly speaking, you're looking so good when you stand together and be one in opinions, agreeing with one another on something. But...I'm fleeing as I need to save my life, so bye bye! *Runs*

Okay...I was just kidding. How was this as a story? Good? Or bad? See, here, everyone was negative, even Tyson too. Let me clarify: Hilary killed Tyson because she loved Kai and didn't want Tyson to be on her way. Tyson killed Kai because he thought that Kai would harm him and Hilary too by trapping Hilary in his love. Kai killed Hilary because she was a competitor for him on his way to be the CEO of the company. Anyways, whom do you want to blame the most here? For whom are you feeling the sorriest here? Tyson? Hilary? Or...Kai?

Let me know through your reviews. Pardon the grammatical and spelling errors. Take care and stay safe :D
