"...I could feel as if time is expanding, a strange feeling, yes. But this isn't the type of feeling I should feel or express. Not after the Multiverse Crisis or the Universe was in danger." A man said. He was a tall-being, bald. He was in a blue and silver cloak. He was known as The Watcher. A being to watch or observe the Multiverse, see other possibilities or the question "What if?" He was standing not on his home planet, but in a room. It was a mixture of books, couches, and tables. Something in the 1920's or the early 18th Century. He was by the window looking at the night-sky or simply...The Universe.
"I wonder why? Many, many, many times the Multiverse has been in danger and yet...We watch. We watch as these heroes and villains fight their hardships and their inner demons. But then again...We just watch." A man said. He was not as tall as the Watcher, but he seemed to wear all black, had a black suit on with a red-vest and a tie. Hair was shaped like a gentlemen's hair, his eyes were black and red. As if he was a demon or a vampire, but he was not. He was Kane, the side of Night, Dark, Evil, Vengeance, Truth, Chaos, War and Death. He was sitting on the couch with his legs crossed and had his head on his head, as if he was bored.
"But isn't that his oath ? His order? And then our oath to not intervene in these Universe's. Let alone, change the timeline itself." A man said. He was a red-head, he had freckles on his face, he had on a brown and green type of suit. Something out in the 1910's or 20's. He was Robert Lutece, A physicist in another reality. He was sitting on another couch and across from Kane and nearby the Watcher.
"Oh? Then remind me of why you and your sister have intervened many, many times before. Especially when you have an ability to even change events, even being there from the beginning and yet...You and your sister did nothing, Lutece." Kane said.
"Well yes, but no. Yes, we may have been able to places in their quest, but as a guide. We did not intervene. We let events happen when given the choices they made. We simply just watched and waited." Robert said. Kane sighs in annoyance.
"Please...I am known for everything evil or the darkside of the Multiverse. I am something you need, but I can't even intervene as much I want to." Kane said.
"Then remind me why you have used a human to be used to control the Mutliverse when it didn't work as much as you predicted it would." Robert said and crossed his arms. Kane gave a hateful glare at Robert.
"Gentlemen please, no need for an argument, let alone a fight." The Watcher said and had both of the men stop their bickering. "But both of you made arguments about how one does intervene, but not directly. While the other is questioned as to why use a human as an ace in the hole to guard the Universe. A knowledge for a human, a normal human, that is so great, one can not comprehend the vastness of the Universe, let alone the Multiverse." The Watcher finished. Earning a sigh from Kane and smirk from Robert who thinks he won the argument. The Watcher turned back to the window, 'Something...Something isn't right. I feel…'
"What do you feel?" Kane asked the Watcher. The Watcher didn't respond, making the two men concerned as to why. The Watcher for sometime has been acting...Strange. Even after fighting Ultron from another possible Universe and thus saving the whole Multiverse with the Guardians of the Mutliverse he had created in case this were to happen again, but then he felt as if someone else had been watching...Knowing all along or seen what the Multiverse had become.
"Please, Kane... It is an invasion of privacy to read the Watcher's mind. Even mine." Robert warned Kane, but Kane didn't respond but kept looking at the Watcher. The Watcher turned his head back to the two men.
"After the events and the fight with Ultron, there was something in the Multiverse that was...Happening. Something or someone...Someone with superior intelligence has not only entered but created types of Gateways to enter the Multiverse as they please. One mad scientist, another from a different Universe, same intelligence but different, a God that is summoned to play a dangerous game in Japan, a society that is made of super-soldiers but is heavily corrupted in crime, another type of society that uses students as their Hope only to be in ruins, and then something else that is bothering with the Multiverse for quite some time...Something that is called the Entity picking up random people of life into it's realm for nothing but pain and death. I fear that these scientists, with the help of a crystal that is powerful, that the Universe I protect and see new events, they cannot understand it's power or origin, let alone where did it came from. And now they're using its power to now create Gateways, even one is now traveling through the Universe itself as we speak. It has been bothering me for quite awhile, and yet...I watch." The Watcher said. The two men turned to look at each other in worry. "Not only that, I've seen them tampering with your timelines Mr. Lutece in a few realites, not the main one...Yet. They have been...Many places. Places I can only see through the eyes of Kane and Amanda. Since they hold the Good and Evil sides of the Multiverse that we need, I can see their perspective. But now...They're infiltrating the deeper ends of the Multiverse. We...We need to stop this." The Watcher finished.
Kane thinked for a moment from what the Watcher had said, he was in the mist of shock and confusion, till Robert spoke up, "But won't you break your oath? You have done that many times now...Isn't there perhaps...Another possibility? Somewhere far from what is happening now? There are infinite possibilities. You could be seeing one now." Robert said, but the Watcher shifted his gaze to him, face to face.
"If so...Why am I here? I would be in the realm observing it. Not here discussing it with you two." The Watcher said, thus making Robert tense a bit, he adjusted his tie, and cleared his throat a bit.
Kane huffs, "The more we sit and watch...The danger they could bring, even I have a line in the Universe that you shouldn't cross, nor tamper with." He turns his head to both The Watcher and Robert, "Why act like cowards but we are Gods? Gods of our respectful time to be precise."
The two men looked at each other for the moment...Thinking about what to say, mostly either to agree or disagree with what Kane said. Either act like Gods or watchers of time or be cowards...Which to choose in so little time? Or more time perhaps? The Watcher places a hand on his chin thinking about the possibilities, infinite possibilities in the Multiverse. But this was the same feeling he had during the fight with Ultron and a few others in the past. Something is happening in the Multiverse. A phenomenon...It has to be stopped.
"As much this is my oath, even after the attack and crisis on the Multiverse...I cannot allow this to happen again and again, let alone let these madmen and women tamper with such things that shouldn't be touched. They could say it is researched for the sake of science, which I disagree...This is something that man-kind cannot handle this information." The Watcher said. Kane and Robert exchange looks at each other and properly think the same, but have different opinions about this issue. Robert sits forward himself, thinking, while Kane does the same. "I know both of you have different takes on the issues. Even regarding the consequences if we take matters into our hands...But...We cannot. We must be bold."
"Hmph...I do not like this. But I also do not like that someone or thing is tramping on what they shouldn't be. I could careless whoever they are or where in their minds they think that something so dangerous, something man should know, should not know at all." Robert said. The Watcher nodded and turned to Kane who was smirking a bit. The kind that is known to be malicious or evil. After all, without evil or bad deeds in the Multiverse...Then the world would be boring to be explored.
"I knew you all would come to your senses. Mostly you Uatu. I know, I know during this would be breaking your oath...Again. Desperate times call for desperate measures." Kane said. Robert gives Kane a look. Mostly suspension type of look, acting if this is not the brightest of ideas or what not.
But it is true...It's time for desperate measures. It was time to rise.

"...Ugh...Nggh….Wha-? What…?" A boy said, 18 years old. He was looking around, he was in a plain white room. The floor was cold and felt like it was concrete, but it didn't feel right. He got up and began looking around, again...It was all plain white. "What...What is this?" He then noticed his clothes were...Torn. His right sleeve seemed to be burned and his left leg was slashed. He has no memories of his clothes looking like this, let alone...Where did they come from?
"Ah! You're awake." The boy turned around and saw Kane. Kane was sitting on a chair, legs crossed, next to a small table with books and a tea cup with a pot. He takes a sip of the tea, Kane glaces at the boy who was still in the midst of confusion, even being uncomfortable in the presence of Kane. "Fear not boy, I will not hurt you nor take control of you. Anything like that...Yet." Kane finished sounding deeper and sinister. It shot a chill in the boy's spine. "We should get down to business...I am Kane. And what is your name?"
'Name? My name…?' The boy thought to himself.
"Yes. Your name. Are you deaf?" Kane said before taking another sip of the tea. The boy raised an eyebrow but then eyes widened. "Yes, I am asking for your name. Is it that hard?"
'Name…? M-My name?' It took a moment before it came to his mind, "My name is...Lars."
"Anything else? Surely there's got to be more than that?" Kane said.
Lars again took a moment to think, then he finally gave his answer. "Lars Andrew Dawson." Lars said.
"Hmm...A very interesting name. Not boring, not too great, but an interesting name." Kane said ,but he sighs and gets up. Strangely Kane and Lars are nearly at the same height, almost. Kane inspects Lars. "Hmm...You need a uniform. Ah! I have one in mind." With a snap of a finger, Lars' appearance changed. Now he was in a white dress shirt with a grey tie, black pants that fit him with a belt, and a pair of black business shoes. But Lars felt something on his shoulder and back, he noticed that he had on a leather shoulder harness that was light-brown.
"What-? What is this?" Lars asked Kane. Kane's only response was just simply looking at Lars' attire, he smirks.
"Simple...It is your uniform. Something I have come up to mind." Kane said, then he pointed to a coat-hanger stand behind Lars, "You forgot your jacket."
Lars turned around and saw a black blazer. "Why am I wearing this? But...Where am I? What is this?" Lars asked Kane.
"We'll get to business until you finish dressing yourself." Kane said and left through a door. Lars grabbed his jacket and made his way through the same door Kane went, although Lars doesn't exactly remember if there was a door to begin with. He followed through Kane and into a room. The room seemed to be a very 18th century library. Tons and tons of books, tables, chairs, anything from that century ago. "I hope you like the decor. It is my personal favorite." Kane said while grabbing a nearby book from the shelf.
Lars was taking back the appearance of the library. It was stunning to see after all...But the question still remains, "Where am I? Why am I here?" Lars asked again, but his tone of voice was a bit deep and sounded a bit emotionless. Kane notices and smiles at Lars, thus making Lars confused again.
"Where you can be...Anything! Anything you want, anything at your will. Ah! Dear me and my husband, make yourself comfortable my dear!" A woman said. Catching Lars off guard, Kane was unfazed but did give an annoyed look as he rolled his eyes. Then the woman appeared from the top of the library, her appearance was...Stunning. She had on a very long white and gold dress, she had long platinum hair with a few golden hair picks. She goes to the stairs and makes her way to Lars. She gives a warm-looking smile, Lars just stares at her. She touches his face with her two hands, "Oh my! Such a wonderful and handsome looking young boy!" She then gasps and steps back, "Ah! Dear, dear me. I forgot to introduce myself...I am Amanda! It's my pleasure to finally meet you!" She then hugs Lars, "What's your name, dear?"
Lars stepped back a few, "It's Lars. Lars Andrew Dawson. Also it's my pleasure to meet you too." Lars said.
"Oh, such a...Very handsome name." She then turns to Kane, "Mind telling me earlier? Hmm?"
"Well...You have a habit of doing your business while I do the same. (Chuckles) But yes dear, we have finally got the boy." Kane and Amanda turned to Lars, who again, was still questioning himself whether this was a dream or not.
'Am I...Dreaming? Am I...Dead? Alive? What the hell is even going on?' Lars thought to himself, he sat down on a nearby leather dark brown chair and rubbed his long-black hair that's shoulder-length.
"(Sigh) You know I hate the awfully overused question by individuals that I hear many, many, many times, "Am I dreaming? Is this real? Am I dead or alive? Heaven or Hell?" Kane said, while using a mocking voice to emphasize. Lars again was taken back, Kane seemed annoyed, "Can't you tell I can read your inner thoughts?" Lars didn't reply, "Yes, yes, yes I know it's impossible...Or is it?"
"Kane my darling...There is no time to bother, hurt the poor boy. You need to remember we have saved him from a world where special abilities like ours do not exist. Let alone...The reason why they don't." Amanda said, thus catching Lars' attention.
"W-World? What do you mean world?! Like…! My home world?!" Lars said, getting up. His tone was showing anger, confusion, even force. Amanda and Kane didn't move but were unfazed. Amanda gave an empathic face while Kane gave a serious but overall emotionless face. "What do you mean you can…?! Read my mind?! Are you insane?!" Lars finished.
"Lars dear...He didn't mean to-" Amanda try to place her hand but was slapped back from Lars.
"You saying you…Kidnap me?! You took me from my family?!" Then he looks around, "Then-!" He was pushed back from Kane. Wait...Kane didn't move?! Lars was pushed back to a table with a few chairs in the way. Lars looked up and saw Kane, then without moving he picked up Lars and threw him to another set of tables, this time it broke on impact. "G-God...Please don't...Don't do t-t-this…" Lars wheezed and coughed from the pain and slowly got up.
"Quiet yourself. You're irritating me with that tone of voice." Kane kneels in front of Lars face to face, "Where you are is what Amanda has said, anything. Anything you want to be is on you...This place. Where you are...It's all in your mind." Lars simply started at Kane, Kane sighs, "What we are saying is that from where you have lived...All of your life, well not all, since you are 18...But you were from a time of war. War with outsiders, war with the unknown…" Then Kane placed his left hand and had two of his fingers touching Lars' forehead. A beam of light going through Lars' eyes, he then sees as if it was like...A portal.
Then out of nowhere Lars was on the ground...It wasn't the library. He gets up. Then his eyes widened in horror, he looked up and saw a huge looking ship hovering over a city, the area he was in looked like a warzone. Tanks, jeeps, guns, helmets, burnt grass, black smoke, flames. Then the sky...It was black, well there was the sun, but it was covered by the smoke. Then out of nowhere a paper landed on his right leg, he picked it up and read the following title on the paper, THE END OF TIMES! END OF THE WAR! END! Then as he was about to drop the paper...A bomb have gone off. Lars turned as the city with the ship exploded, it was the atomic bomb or a nuke that have been set off, then as he was going to find cover he went to the ground. He was back in the library. "Oh my...Oh my god...What...What in god's name was that?! Was that…?!"
"Yes. That was the world you have come from. The world that was destroyed, was in the time of peace, but madmen and women terrorized that world. (Sigh) You were...Killed." Kane said.
"You were in the crossfire. You tried to save a human being from a blast. In fact...You did save them. But in return you took the hit of the blast. Then on a bed of med field, you died there." Amanda said. Coming to sit with Kane and Lars. Lars had a tear coming out of his eye. Kane gave a disgusted look while Amanda shed a few tears as well.
"T-T-Then...W-Why am I here? I thought I died...Am I...Dead?" Lars asked. Kane got up, moving his hand. He got a cup with a wine bottle or champagne of some type. Lars saw that and notice that it was telekinesis.
Kane sat on a chair, same like Lars had sat on earlier but it was a larger size, "In truth...Yes, you are. You are confirmed dead. But...As Amanda had pity for you and I...Well, didn't, but saw and felt nothing but a hidden rage in your soul on your corpse. I hate seeing a spirit like you go to waste like that. Then we have given you a second chance. A chance to fight back. Take vengeance or revenge for the fallen world or worlds should I say." Kane said, taking a sip of the drink, Lars and Amanda sat on the chairs to Kane. "Ah...Let me say that this was a very generous offer we have given to a human being like you. And yes, I have the ability to control anything at my will with my mind. Even Amanda has the same ability or abilities like me. But...Do you know what we are?" Kane asked Lars.
Lars then looks at Amanda and Kane. Their appearance was drastically different from one another, Amanda had on everything from white and Kane was all black, as if Amanda is like hope, Kane as despair, Amanda as pure, Kane as evil...Does that make them? "Are you...God of evil and she is god of good? Or are you two what makes life…Life?" Lars asked Kane.
Kane smirked and Amanda smiled and clapped her hands, "Very well done my boy...You are correct for a few points. But yes...We represent what you need in life. In the life of your world and others. Everything you say, think, do, make, anything at all. We see it, either I say or she does. But yes, again. I am known to be evil, but truthfully."
"I can be pure and loving, but I can lie and make things difficult as they shouldn't be. I can be known as a beautiful lie." Amanda said.
"While I have been the hateful truth. The truth all need to hear." Kane finished. Lars simply stared at the two. He was...amazed.
"But...Why did you give me life back? Why did you...Gave me a chance?" Lars asked them.
"Well you need to prove to me, which you did, but still need to prove to me why I needed you alive. But in order for you to know, you need to know...The Multiverse." Kane said. Lars raised an eyebrow, "You know that you have died, but what if...You had n't died? What if the world you lived on wasn't in a war with the unknown? There is always a possibility. But ultimately...You have died. But then again...What's stopping from happening in the beginning? But something is happening." Kane asked Lars.
"What do you mean?" Lars asked.
"As much as we are what life needs, we are what the Multiverse needs as well. There is a being that watches over the universe from all over have noticed. A force... Multiple forces that have been venturing deeper ends of the Multiverse are either destroying, tampering, or even taking over some with given time. But...We cannot intervene. It's an oath that was passed onto the being and onto us as well." Amanda said. Then Lars turned to Kane.
"We needed someone, like you, to protect these types of worlds. Worlds that need to be left alone, some events need to stay or need to change back." Kane paused and looked at Lars.
"Then...Then what do I need to do? But...how can I do this?" Lars asked.
"Simple my dear boy" Kane and Amanda held hands together, "Us."
"What? What do you mean?" Lars asked, both Amanda and Lars sat back down.
"We have possessed many, many abilities. Abilities many men would want as a gift or a curse. As you can see, we have more. But the main reason is...We both are inside of you." Kane said. Lars blinked a few times and eyes widened. "By inside, you are possessed what many, many abilities from us to you. As said, you have both me and Amanda inside of you. But all in all can I say...Are you ready?" Kane asked and stood, showing his hand to Lars. Amanda stood next to Kane. Lars looked at them and Kane's hand.
Lars knows this is all...A dream, but at the same time, there is something that feels burning inside of him. A flare says to do it, but another says it could ruin Lars. But what does Lars have to lose? He lost...Everything. A world he lived in was in a war, he properly fought in it and then lost a life to save another. What's there to lose? "I...I accept. I want...I want to do it. I need to...I need to know why it needed to happen. I want to fight these bastards." Lars said. His tone was determined but seemed emotionless at the same time.
"Then my boy...We, Kane and Amanda and to you, we have a deal." Lars and Kane shook hands. Then Amanda and Lars hugged each other. "Then...Let's begin. Here is your first task to test to who you are and what you need to do." Then with a flick to the wrist, Kane opened a door, the door was bright as light in the middle of the library, Lars turned his head to Kane and Amanda, "As much you do have what it takes. You need allies. Allies to help with this task, a...team humans like to call it. I think you are enough, but the being Amanda has mentioned wanting you in a team from different types of universes across the Multiverse. Find them or anyone for the task. Use what we have given you and stop this damned madness." Kane said.
Lars looked at the door, the door was still bright. He takes a few breathes, and adjusts his tie a bit. Looking more serious, but again he seemed emotionless at the same time. He walks his way to the door, the moment he went fully through the door it shut.

*Woosh
Coming out of the way, Lars went from the door to an alley. The alley was filled with trash, a few homeless people on the side of nearby trash cans and dumpsters. He began to walk, ignoring a few slurs and some begging people as he was going to a sidewalk in a street of a business city, he stopped to see a mirror on the wall. He looks at himself, from there he sees himself. His skin was a bit more pale but then his eyes...His eyes if I can remember were once greyish-blue, now his eyes were split into two, for both of his eyes were white but in the left, the right of his eye was red. Along with that each side was a target looking like a bull's eye. Then his face seemed emotionless, as if he lost all emotions...Then again, he was dead. Now he's alive. Alive to protect this Multiverse. As he began to leave he walked in with a crowd of people, regular people of life. While he is husk of a human being brought to life, as he was walking he noticed a stand, a paper stand with people checking in or out, along with a TV. He picks a newspaper, as if predicted a News channel appear on the TV.
"Good afternoon to everyone following along this beautiful day so far. As of today, Detroit police so far have apprehended local gangs in the nearby area. So far, numbers of gangs like the 40's Gunners, RiverLakers and the infamous Fear Eators were captured from last night. Although authorities say they have been severely injured and a few, including leader Steve Biko's Jonathan, were killed by nothing but brute force, authorities said. Detroit police reported that it could be that a vigilante from Gotham City has come here. Commissioner David Bernie Guard has issued that any actions of citizens who do practices of vigilante work will be fined or charged if caught, so citizens, please always call 9-1-1 if you see crime, do NOT hesitate or TAKE actions to your hands, let officers do their thing! DO the right thing. Now let's check for the local weather…"
"Tch! Vigilantes...I hate'em, ruining jobs that cops are SUPPOSED to do. Not some hotshot, shithead." An elderly man said.
"Then what about Superman, Batman? And that Wonder-Chick or Wonder Woman? Aren't they considered vigilantes?" A man said.
"At LEAST, they don't kill. Sure sometimes the worst has to go, but killing isn't the way. I see justice more than cowardice work." The elderly man said and left the stand. The man shook his head, Lars raised an eyebrow but left. But then Lars put his hand on his chin and thought for a moment.
"Hey, kid?" Lars turned to a young man. Who seemed like 25 or maybe early 30's in a type of Biker gear that was black and red, but he was wearing navy blue jeans and boots, "Aren't you going get something or what? You're standing in line." He said, Lars moved out of the way, "Thank you...God, kids."
Lars noticed the man's hair, it was dark-brown but the front was...White. "C'mon Jason, he's just a kid." A girl said at the counter.
The man or "Jason" looks at Lars, "Eh...He looks like shit." Jason snickers at Lars and the girl laughs and blushes a bit, "Heha, anyway...The usual."
"Oh! Right, your favorite cigarettes with the same price on every Friday." The girl said and gave a pack of cigarettes to Jason and Jason from the looks of it gave a ten dollars, as he was about to leave, Jason noticed a black eye on the girl's face. Lars had seen but didn't question...
"What happened Jenny?" Jason asked the girl name Jenny from her tag.
"Huh?" Jenny said, then Jason pointed to her black eye, "Oh! Or that was from someone not paying attention. I-I was going to the mall shopping and going to the bathroom then some girl slammed the door at me...Soooo, yeah...Hehe, embarrassing right?" Jenny laughed, Jason smiled but he knew from his face it was a lie. Even Lars clearly saw it as a lie from the beginning. "Well, take care. See ya!"
"Yeah, you too." Jason said and left. Lars followed through. Lars saw Jason on a motorcycle and drove off quickly.
'Hmmm...Interesting. Something not too boring at all.' Lars thought to himself as he began to leave. The sun was setting, night was coming. I guess from this point on...An ally would be gained.
