Stress out, new friend in

Commander Fox steps into his office and slumps into his rather uncomfortable desk chair. He takes off his helmet to breathe, to release the stress he oozed. After his bout of silence he looks down at the paperwork on his desk. The papers sat there a foot high whispering to him, "You forgot us..." "Write the reports..." "Get a life..." he sighs heavily as he rubs his baggy eyes. He had three prison brawls and an assassination attempt on the Chancellor just this week, he had no sleep in four days and the Caff stopped working hours ago. He grabs a pen and writes on the first report of the week's activities. Before he could write the second, the coms flashed on. He blinks at the holo-image of Palpatine, "Yes, Chancellor?"

"I need to speak with you in privet, Commander Fox. Meet me in my office in ten minutes." the hologram shuts off and Commander Fox gets up with a groan. He slips on his helmet and heads out the door.

He stops as an idea pops in his head, "I could spare a minute." he turns back and shoves as much paperwork into his armor and pockets as he could, then heads out to the hanger bay. Gaining snickers from some of his men. He climbs in a small ship and heads to the senate building.

He lands the ship on the Senate ship's platform and heads inside. He jumps into the nearest elevator and clicks a button. The sudden jerk upwards sends him into slight vertigo and he grabs the railings with both hands to steady himself. The pull of gravity reminded him that he was tired and his eyes started to close. He jerks them open and finds that he's no longer alone, nor standing. A blue Senator with pink hair looked down at him as he lay on her lap. He jerks up and apologized as he wobbled, "Sorry for lying on you, ma'am. It won't happen again."

she stands up and steadies him, "It is okay, trooper. I didn't mind."

he looks at her, mind fuddled, "You... don't mind..."

"You're tired." she states letting him stand on his own, "Question is. Why?"

he thinks about where to start, then concludes, "It's nothing to concern you, Senator..."

"Chuchi."

"I don't sleep." he states with a slight head bobble.

She smiles with a simple chuckle, "Clearly." she looks down at his pockets, "Too much paperwork?"

he looks down in confusion, then takes a breath to raise his head, "Yes, ma'am." the doors open for them and he follows her out without thinking. "Where are you headed?" he asked trying to stay awake.

She smiles, "I'm going to my room to write my speech I may or may not use. Where are you going?"

he thinks for a minute, "I don't remember." just then his com beeps. He turns it on, "Yes, Chancellor?"

"Where are you, Commander?"

he blinks at the hologram, then looks around, then answers, "I'm in the building."

"Did you forget where my office is?" he asked in a calmer tone, like it was expected.

Fox stood there not wanting to admit it, "What are your orders, Sir?"

as Palpatine gave him orders, Fox's eyes wandered and locked onto Chuchi who had decided to stand and watch over heading to her room. He had almost forgotten that she was there. When Palatine finished, Fox nods and turns off the com. He looks at her, "I have a meeting with the Chancellor."

"If you need anything, my door is open." she says turning around and heading off. He nods and takes off towards the stairs. The brisk walk took a toll on his muscles, making his armor weigh a ton, but it kept him awake long enough to make it to Palatine's office. Once there he gave respect and nodded to everything he said. Palpatine seemingly had not noticed the very obvious papers dripping out of his armor as Fox bobbed in small circles fighting sleep. "...and that is why I want you on the scene. It'll make the other senators feel more at ease."

Fox mumbles, "Yes, sir."

"Good. Now go, Commander and get some rest. I wouldn't want my favorite clone to be sleeping on his most critical mission." he goes and sits in his seat. Fox leaves the room with a bow as he brings up a hologram of his favorite puppet. "Anakin my boy, how are you?" Fox heads into the nearest elevator and presses a button, his tired brain hoping he clicked the right one. After a short ride, the door opens and he steps out. He wobbled his way around until he's stopped by another Senator. "Where is Chuchi's room?" he asks trying to look alert. The Senator points it out and he heads in that direction. He opens the door and flops onto her floor, gaining her attention. She comes over and checks him in worry. As soon as his breathing was obvious, she calms down and drags him away from the door so it could close. She puts him in a corner and gets him a pillow and blanket. She takes off his helmet and slips the pillow under his messy, cow licked hair. He slowly tucks his legs and arms under him, much to her amusement, and she puts the blanket on him. After she was satisfied with her work she goes back to her desk and writes down her speech.
