It's always so subtle that almost nobody would notice—especially with the kitchen being ever-hectic—but Edinburgh could always see the signs.
Belfast has always been a perfectionist, hard on others and especially on herself, so a small mistake that most would shrug off, no matter how exceedingly rare, can affect her immensely.
When it did, Edinburgh would always know.
Belfast would stiffen and lower her head, likely wondering how it happened and why she allowed it.
When that happened, Edinburgh would always know what she needed to do.
She walked over to Belfast and put a hand on her shoulder, gaining her surprised attention.
"It's okay," she said. That's all she needed because Belfast smiled afterward.
"...Thank you, Edi. I'll start over," she said, immediately getting ready to resume working.
Just as Edinburgh was about to answer, a burnt smell came from the direction of the dish she was working on.
"...Ahaha...haha. We, you mean," she chuckled, amused yet dreading what Belfast would say of the gaffe.
To Edinburgh's surprise, Belfast laughed along.
"It's okay."
