Hey guys, I wrote this short little multi chapter fic this past week. It's been laying in my fic folder for over a year, it was time to dust it off. When I tell you that this fic is cheesy, I ain't lying. It's really cheesey cheese. It's a little OOC too, but it can't be helped, I'm sorry.

Also, the chapters are supposed to be short, just so you know.

Please leave your reviews, I love getting them xoxo

I don't own Bones

Chapter 1

Thursday 15th of may 2008 10.43pm

He had just gotten home after a long day at work. Booth had spent the majority of his day at the office and had barely seen Brennan at all today. They had written back and forth about the leads on the case, but that was it. He hated days like these when Cullen made him help the new kids figure out the shooting range or even holding a gun. Some of them Booth barely knew how they got the job.

They had gotten a lot closer over the past few weeks. When they weren't working together they always held context over the phone, through texts. It was something they always had done, but recently - it felt different.

He went to his fridge and took out a beer. Booth glanced up at his clock on the wall. 10.43pm. A really long day, apparently. It wasn't anything new that he came home late from work, either it was crime scenes, teaching the newbies or the worst, paperwork. The paperwork is what kept him at work today. He had been putting off doing most of the paperwork for the past few weeks, which wasn't ideal but he didn't feel like doing it.

The FBI agent took a sip of the beer in his hand as a new text message came in. Booth walked over to his hallway table and picked up his phone to read who it was from. Bones. It read on the screen. A smile found his lips quickly and he flipped the phone open.

(10.45pm) Hey, are you home yet? You shouldn't work so late.

He smiled at the gentle question. Even though they barely talked today, she wanted to make sure he was okay.

(10.46pm) Hey, I'm home. Neither should you, Bones.. Are you home?

He sent his reply and settled down on his couch turning on the tv. Booth skipped through the news until he landed on the channel where they replayed old Simpsons episodes. His phone vibrated in his hand. He brought it up to eye sight to read the message.

(10.56pm) Yes, I am home. Did you have fun teaching "newsies" how to handle a weapon today?

Booth let out a chuckle at Brennan trying to use lingo when texting.

(10.59pm) LOL. It's newbies, Bones. But, yes, it was quite the day, nothing compared to the pile of paperwork went through this evening. Did you dust off some old bones today when the case laid quiet?

The next response came quicker than the last one. Maybe she is settled in bed now.

(11.02pm) Oh, newbies, okay, I'll remember that. This is why you don't save all of your paperwork until the last minute. I have offered my help in the past, it still stands. I did "dust off" some old bones from the 17 hundreds. Quite a fascinating find, actually.

He started reading the text that had come in as another one joined it.

(11.03pm) Will you be coming by the lab for lunch tomorrow?

He smiled as he thought of how she sent it as a double text. She didn't want to send it with the other message, but she still wanted to ask.

(11.04pm) Yeah, tomorrow I'll steal you away for lunch. And for your offer, want to help me with the last of them tomorrow night over some thai?

Planning two meals in one text, what had gotten into him?

(11.08pm) Good, lunch was quite boring today without your constant begging for me to try your pie. One of these days I'll try it, just not now.

(11.08pm) And yes, thai would be nice over some paperwork.

He read the message that came through and he laughed. She would try some pie some day.

(11.09pm) Are you also watching The Simpsons?

The new text took him by surprise.

(11.10pm) You're watching The Simpsons? Where? How?

He sent the text quickly to Brennan, sitting up straighter.

(11.13pm) I put up the TV you and Parker gave me for my birthday. I put it in my room so I'm able to watch a show or two before going to bed. Letting my brain relax after a hard or long day at work.

(11.14pm) Did you see what the child did there?

Their texting went back and forth as the characters on the screen talked through the night.

(1.06am) It's 1am, Bones. We should sleep..

Booth sent as he checked the time beside his bed. He had moved into his bedroom as the night grew quiet.

(1.07am) I didn't even realise that the time had passed by so quickly. I am sure we both will be thankful for coffee in the morning.

Booth let out a chuckle and got up to brush his teeth. He tried typing with one hand as best as he could.

(1.09am) Ill mlae sjre thsr yiu gdet coffrr Un ypi

(1.10am) Are you okay?

(1.12am) You try to brush your teeth and type at the same time, lol. I said, I'll make sure that you get coffee tomorrow.

(1.13am) I did type and brush earlier and it went quite well.

(1.15am) Show off :p

(1.15pm) Want me to swing by tomorrow morning with fresh coffee from the diner? Just the way you like it?

(1.16am) Is that not out of your way? You know how much I dislike the coffee that the Jeffersonian serves..

(1.17am) The bureau and the lab are quite close you know, so no it isn't out of my way

(1.17am) Plus, you're my partner, anything for my Bones

He pressed send and regret set in almost immediately. The night had gone so well and now he would ruin it with a simple my before Bones.

(1.18am) Your Bones? :p (am I using the emoticon correctly?)

(1.19am) Yes, you're using them correctly, Bones, lol. Well yeah, it's my nickname for you and no one else calls you that, so it is mine..

(1.20am) Parker calls me Bones.

(1.21am) That's not the same thing.

(1.22am) It's not? What's the difference?

(1.22am) I'll tell you someday, because right now, we should sleep.

(1.23am) I will remind you about this conversation at a later date.

(1.23am) Sleep well, I'll see you tomorrow.

(1.24am) Goodnight.

(1.25am) Goodnight, Bones

(1.27am) Sweet dreams
