The true Hyrule Hero.
This story was brought up because I love the Legend of Zelda series. Combination with an original world was inevitable. The Link used in this story is from Breath of the Wild. Enjoy.

[11:15 A.M.] [Lakeside Stable] [Hyrule Kingdom]
"There. It seems everything is coming along perfectly." A soft, feminine voice stated.
"Since Ganon is gone. Rebuilding will be a lot easier, especially with the Guardians inactive now." That voice belonged to no one other, than Princess Zelda.
"Are these plans effective to you Link?" She looked behind her. Seeing her appointed knight stare at the blueprints on the table. A stern, silent nod was her answer.
Zelda often felt that Link was a miracle, sent to her by the Goddess Hylia. Her appointed Knight, and effective leader of the past champions. His blonde hair swayed gently as his light blue eyes took in every detail of the blueprints.
Zelda turned back to the plans in front of her.
"So, judging by how much the expenses will be, do you think you can go gather some wood nearby?" Zelda took a seat and fiddled with her Sheikah Slate.
Yet another silent nod from the Hyrulean champion. Link walked out of the stable they were staying at; The Lakeside Stable, if he remembered correctly.
Grabbing a hefty Double Axe leaning up against a wooden crate, he jogged over towards a patch of trees, and before he could start chopping, heard a voice close to the lake.
"Help! Get these things away from me!" A voice screamed.
Link dropped the Axe in a flash, pulled out the Master Sword from its sheath, and ran towards the call for help.
Link made it to a nearby bridge to see a ghastly sight, a group of Bokoblins gathered around an unconsious man, jumping in celebration.
Two Blues, One Black, one Golden.
Link narrowed his eyes, and ran forward, thankfully being fast enough to thrust his sword through one of the Blue Bokoblin's chest, it making a loud squeak as its body went limp.
The sound of Link charging, and taking out a member of their group startled the other Bokoblins, and sent them into a frenzy, pulling the spiked wooden weapons off their backs.
Link taunted them, and ran back across the bridge, the angry pig goblins in hot pursuit.
Link pulled his Hylian Shield off his back, Master Sword at the ready, watching as the Bokoblins tried to circle him. The Black Bokoblin was the first to engage, throwing a heavy overhead swing at the Metal Shield.
Link thrust his shield out, parrying the attack, and stunning the Bokoblin who dropped their weapon in surprise. Link gripped the Master Sword, and swiped it across their neck, watching its thick purple blood ooze out of its wound.
While the monster held its throat, Link was already onto the second Blue Bokoblin, swifly ending its life with a brutal decapitation, sending the body into the lake.
The Golden Bokoblin stomped furiously, and ran up to Link, preparing to throw a fist, and was met with a slash across the face.
Link felt a searing pain in his side, taking his Sword, he pointed it to where the edge was towards him, and swiftly thrusted it past his side, digging half of it into the Black Bokoblin behind him.
A gargled screech came from its already slashed throat as it let go of the spiked weapon buried in his side. Link winced as he pulled the Spiked Club, and dropped it as the Golden Bokoblin grabbed one of its comrades' weapon.
It let out a gutteral roar as it leaped up into the air, arms splayed wide as it prepared to slam down its weapon onto Link's shield.
Link once again parried the attack, stunning the monster, and slashing across its face once again, cutting through one of its eyes.
As the Bokoblin recoiled and screamed in agony, Link grabbed the golden nuisance by the neck, and roughly threw it into the river, watching as it stuggled to breathe, desperately flailing to get air into its lungs, before finally sinking, and drowning.
Link let out a sigh as he winced. The club that was buried in his side hurt, and there was a patch of blood, but for the most part, his Champion Tunic had absorbed most of the impact.
Link once again sheathed his sword, and walked over the the man on the bridge, who seemed to be waking up.
"Those dreaded monsters, I come all this way to deliver a message to the legendary hero, only to get ambushed by them. Thank you kind sir." The man thanked Link as he helped him up.
"What a dire situation that was, did you... Get rid of them perhaps?" The man looked around, seeing the barely living Black Bokoblin, trying to crawl away. Link walked up to the weakened monster, and stomped on its neck.
A loud crunch was heard before the body went limp.
"That sheathe, is that the one that holds the Sword that seals the Darkness?" The man examined Link's back, gasping in awe.
"So that means you are the hero I was looking for?!" Link nodded, and gestered for the man to follow him.
Link and the man were quickly on the road back to the Lakeside stable, Link plucking a few Hyrule Herbs on the side of the path.
"So, that is indeed the Master Sword correct? Not a replica?" The man asked.
Link nodded, and made sure to apply pressure to his side to weaken the pain and bleeding. He did not want to risk an infection from that weapon, he knew all too well what those things were used for.
"Fasinating, so you are the hero of Hyrule... I will be honest, I was expecting someone... Bulkier." The man spoke bluntly.
Link shrugged lightly, he was used to those comments, he got them on a daily basis, people not even believing he was the one who weakened Ganon so Zelda could seal him.
"But, you took care of those monsters somehow, so I won't complain." The man gave a sincere smile.
"Link! You were supposed to be back here with that wood half an hour ago!" Zelda ran out from the stable in a panic and wrapped her arms around his waist, causing him to flinch slightly.
"Where were you?! I was so worried..." Zelda trailed off at Link's uncomfortable face, and noticed a patch of red on his side.
"Did you... Get hurt? What happened?!" Zelda hurredly pulled Link over to a stool in front of a cooking pot.
"What happened Link? Who did this?" Zelda gently examined the slightly torn tunic, seeing that a few small chunks of flesh were missing from his bleeding side.
"He helped me." The man following spoke up.
"Huh? Helped you?" Zelda looked towards him, and Link.
"I was ambushed by a group of those foul monsters on my way here. I believe this young lad had dealt with them by the time I awoke." The man took the stool across from Link, and let out a sigh.
"You got careless again, didn't you? Why did you not be more careful?" Zelda scolded Link with a worried tone.
Link looked down silently, pulling out the herbs he gathered. He made sure to crush them together in the pot with a bit of water, watching as the ground herbs melted into a fine paste. Link lifted his tunic, and took a handful of the hot melted herb paste, and applied it to his wound.
Zelda looked on worriedly as Link winced, then smiled with relief as he sighed.
"Now that the hero has had time to heal a bit, I must explain myself." The man spoke.
Zelda and Link looked at him as he smiled.
"My name is Dericore Axalith, and I have come from afar to deliver a mesage to the hero of Hyrule."
"A message? For Link?" Zelda looked at him curiously.
"Correct. I was entrusted this sacred scroll, meant for the hero's eyes to read." The man reached into a satchel, one not even Link or Zelda saw on him, and pulled out a perfectly intact scroll.
"But, where did you get that satchel? That was not on you when you got here." Zelda asked confusedly.
"Simply read the scroll, it will explain all." The man smiled, and waited for Link to open the parchment.
(Dearest hero of Hyrule. I have sent my aide to deliver a plead in the form of parchment to you directly. I was told from countless sources that whoever has a problem, that I should ask you.)
Link raised an eyebrow, but continued.
(I am afraid that by the time you get this, I will be long gone. But I wish to have the hope that my message made its way to you, dearest hero. My kingdom is in the verge of collapse, so I wished to ask you sincerely for your help.)
Zelda looked on at Link, who seemed to be upset.
(My aide is what one would call, a Portal Walker, an emmisary of dimensional delivery if you will. I wish to ask of you if you would please come to my dimension so as to defeat an ancient evil roaming the land.)
Link had to re-read that again, dimensional travel? Was that even possible?
(Nobody on our planet can handle this, and all who have attempted to destroy this evil has failed. So the Great Council has decided to call upon you to plead for your heroic strength. If you do get this message, then I beg you, please save our planet!)
That was it, no signature was there. Link handed the scroll to Zelda who seemed confused.
"What is this? Dimensional travel? Ancient evil? Doomed kingdom?!" Zelda frantically read the parchment over and over, trying her hardest to make sure she was reading this correctly.
"Yes, it is as the scroll says, I was sent here to your dimension in search of Link, I have come to secure his help no matter what it costs. I can offer anything you want if you help us, money, a powerful position, many women to grace your bed if that is what you desire." The man kneeled in front of Link.
Link, shocked at the sudded display of fealty, looked to Zelda, who seemed to be in shock as well.
"Dimensional Travel? Is that even possible?" Zelda asked the kneeling man.
"It is, I have been instructed to bring the legendary hero back to my dimension to help save us. Please, on behalf of our failing kingdom, I beg you." The man did not even look up to Link, fearful of offending him.
"But, I don't understand." Zelda spoke up.
"I understand that it is a lot to ask of so suddenly, but we are in a desperate situation..." The man spoke softly.
"Then come on into the stable, we can go over things there." Zelda walked into the Stable, Link and the man who stopped kneeling followed shortly.
After what felt like hours, Zelda and Link got the answers that they were seeking, and after heavy and careful consideration, they both agreed that Link should go to their dimension.
And as much as Zelda wished to go, her kingdom needed her rule to rebuild. According to the Portal Walker, Link's journey wouldn't be long.
So with a heavy heart, and saddened eyes, Zelds bid Link a brief farewell.
Zelda hugged Link with all her strength and looked up to him.
"Please Link, promise me you will come back alive to me, to Hyrule." Zelda had faint tears in her eyes.
Link nodded gently, and resolutely, and hugged her back, gently running his fingers through her hair.
"Stay safe." Zelda shed the tears in her eyes as Link followed the man back into a portal that he created.
"Fear not Zelda, Link shall return, you have my sincerest promise." The man bowed once again as the portal carried them both off.
"I sure hope so..." Zelda looked to the ground in sadness, but puffed out her chest, she had the upmost faith that Link would succeed.
