Warning: Angst-ish and blood.
INT. CAVE - EVENING
Ahsoka and Rex stumble into a cave, their arms supporting each other so they can walk. Ahsoka walks with a limp.
Once inside, Ahsoka lightens her grip, and Rex tries to gently land on the cold floor of the cave.
Ahsoka grips her head and sits next to Rex, who is lying completely flat on the floor gripping his side.
Ahsoka starts whimpering, trying to clutch her head even harder.
Rex looks at her and struggles to sit up against the wall. Ahsoka sits next to him.
REX
Shh. 'Soka, stop whining.
Ahsoka shouts.
AHSOKA
I'm not whining! It's painful!
Rex gently puts his hands over Ahsoka's montrals, trying to look at the wound. Her hands drop to her lap.
Rex cringes.
REX
That's a deep wound. How are you not bleeding more?
Tears stream down Ahsoka's face.
AHSOKA
Is it bad?
REX
It'll be okay. We don't have any medical supplies with us, though. And I think you're going to need stitches.
Ahsoka gasps and tries to touch the wound on the top of her forehead.
REX
Don't touch it!
Ahsoka obeys, tears still falling.
REX
I would try to comfort you until help comes, but that would hurt.
Ahsoka wipes her eyes and looks him up and down quizzically.
REX
Under the armor.
Ahsoka takes off his armor and sees a blood stain on his blacks.
She thinks to herself how useless clone armor really is.
Ahsoka pulls down the top part of his blacks.
She stares for a moment, feeling her face heat up at seeing Rex with his shirt off for the first time. She tries to push back any thoughts related to his handsomely chiseled body, while also trying to not pass out from the sight of blood.
She soon snaps out of it and sheepishly glances at Rex's face. He gives her an impatient and pained expression.
Ahsoka bundles his blacks and stuffs it over his wound.
Rex winces and then puts his hand over Ahsoka's. She stares at his hand covering hers and looks up at him.
REX
I can hold it.
A sigh of relief escapes Ahsoka's mouth, but she can't help think in the back of her mind what it would be like if both their hands stayed on top of each other.
Ahsoka goes back to leaning against the wall, the pain rushing back in now that she's not distracted.
AHSOKA
Someone better come soon. I'm starting to feel light headed.
Rex looks over at Ahsoka with concern. Ahsoka notices.
AHSOKA
But it's fine. It's fine.
Rex continues to stare with concern. Ahsoka forces a small smile. The concern disappears from his face, but Rex continues to stare.
Ahsoka takes advantage of this moment and inches closer to Rex. She rests her head on his shoulder and closes her eyes.
She doesn't notice Rex close his eyes, too.
REX
Someone will be here soon.
