AN: Welcome back to another chapter; I've decided I'll go back to my 5k word chapters to update weekly; if I don't upload a week after a chapter is due, expect it to be quite lengthy. I read my story a few times, and I'm disappointed in how I handled it in the beginning, I felt I could've done better, but again I wrote the general first four chapters around 2020 when I decided to start fanfiction, finally. I won't blame people for reading the first chapter and instantly leaving (Even my friend gave me advice and tips on how he would've handled it); however, that criticism taught me that I needed to take it slow, so without further ado, let's begin.

-Start-

Anger.

That was the only way to describe what was being felt at this moment.

Helplessness.

That was what was going through the minds of everyone else.

In the recent broadcasting around the world, even reaching places like the Orre Region, the devastation Unova suffered was now more apparent to the world, and it showed just how weak even the strongest of the strong could be. Nevertheless, trainers prided themselves on their strength in battle, determination in training, and prowess in everything else.

But not this time.

The trainers of Unova felt weak, ashamed, pathetic. And sadly so, their Champion felt that way as well. The champion was meant to be the pinnacle of everything that a trainer strived to be, yet when their champion wasn't up to that standard, the morale lowered tremendously.

For once in his life, Alder felt the weight of being weak. He only ever felt like this at the loss of his partner and the loss of his dear friend, Dagan Alexander. Despite keeping his vile intention under wrap, Dagan was still a great friend to be around and inspired the champion. He saved his ass on many accounts and would've been dead with his naivety plaguing him at such a young age.

Alder was now considering passing on the champion mantle to someone else.

His grandson, for one, Benga, but the kid was a little rascal and was immature. His Elite Four, Marshall, was his student, yes, but Marshall wasn't ready for the responsibilities of a champion. Shauntal was rather clumsy and would rather write a quick short novel than be champion; Caitlin was, well, Caitlin. She was lazy, and that held her back. Finally, Grimsley was the perfect choice out of the Unova Elite Four. The Dark Type Specialist had the charisma, the attitude, and looked like a champion candidate, but Grimsley was odd. It was as if he was always plotting something; Alder knew the kid for a long time; Grimsley was a very good gambler and knew everything was a bet to him.

And that was the problem.

Grimsley would place his title on a bet and somehow lose because his luck wasn't in his favor.

So Alder had to search much deeper than just his Elite Four members.

Gym Leaders.

Yes, Gym Leaders. Sure they were 'weakerthan the Elite Four…..but that was merely a cover-up. Gym Leaders could go toe to toe with the Elite Four with their strongest team; the Gym Leaders all had a set rule on going easy on the challenger. Alder didn't like that idea, but Goodshow wanted it to be that way.

The Striaton City triplets were off the table. A champion can't be three people, sadly. Then came Lenora, she had the smarts to be Champion, and if Alder had to admit, she was gorgeous, but she was married. Burgh was Burgh. Elesa was too busy with modeling and wouldn't cut. Clay was all about business, Skyla had been slacking lately, considering that she was extremely into her piloting career, and her obvious crush for Gedeon was there. Brycen was planning on retiring soon, and.

Drayden was dead.

Alder clenched his fist and brought up a hand that held within its grasp a beer bottle. Alder quickly took a chug and threw the bottle into a wall, the bottle instantly broke into fragments, and it wasn't the only one.

To Alder's left, a giant pile of glass was seen, and it was obvious who the source of this was. Alder hasn't gone or answered any phone calls. He was currently brooding, and it was clear by his paler skin, his expanding belly, and his droopy eyes.

"Pathetic."

A sharp voice came to life, disappointed, and Alder paid no attention to it.

"Look at you, old man. Are you the one I want to kill?"

Alder quickly got up, only to fall forward on his head. The voice croaked before a sinister laugh occurred.

"HA! LOOK AT YOU, CAN'T EVEN TURN TO FACE YOUR ENEMY!" Unfortunately, Alder knew this voice all too well.

Atlas.

"Ugh...Atlas, you…."

"Oh, A pity your wife left you," Atlas came to view, flicking on the lights in the darkroom, stepping on the glass. "Your grandson, little Benga, doesn't even love you." Atlas's words were harsh and true.

"Shut up…."

"No, you see, If I can't kill you, then I can kill your pride, your spirit, your very being. Old Man. You've been champion for so long, gaining respect by all but me, of course. I only ever decided to follow you was so I could become stronger, but when the time came, you never decided who was better—Marshall or me. I was always better than that muscle brain," Atlas continued, with pent-up anger and rage building, ready to erupt.

"I left to seek my own goal….and that was to see you destroyed, utterly void of life, passion, and everything else. And guess what," Atlas craned his head a bit, crouching. "I fucking did." Atlas grabbed Alder's hair and yanked him up, so Alder could look directly into his eyes.

"I accomplished my goal. Look at you, soulless, battered, weak, and pitiful. It makes me happy." Atlas spoke in an extremely jubilant tone. "Yet, I feel like…..it wasn't rewarding in the end, and I sat here and wondered, why do I feel…..empty. Then I realized I could've done more with my time and careful planning. I could've been the one to change the world, but that bitch Orochi was far stronger."

Atlas decided to slam Alder's face onto the ruby-colored floor that brandished the room. But, instead, Atlas simply smirked and placed a hand over his slightly reddish skin, having been healed from the burns he suffered at the hands of Drayden.

"I'm waiting, watching, planning. Inevitably, I'll eventually face off against Gedeon Alexander; he's the pinnacle, the epitome of what an Alexander is, but only for the good-natured bastards. Me? I'm the GOD! I was birthed to be the strongest, the sole ruler, yet that would make for a boring story, yes? But, no, I want more than that. I learned something from my studies that Arceus is merely a false god, standing on the throne, my throne, Alder…...mine!"

Alder was paralyzed in his position. However, he was storing the information from Atlas in his memory.

"Sure, I want world domination, but I want to break my barrier, the human barrier, the pokemon barrier. So I offered some of my blood for a new creation to help me with my newfound goals. I won't strike yet since it'll take possible years for this creation to be brought to life, so in the meantime, I'll get stronger. My army will grow stronger than anything this world has seen, and I will bring about a new age where Pokemon no longer exist," Atlas spoke in a deep voice, befitting of a demon in human flesh.

"You'll…...fail."

"Oh? What makes you say that? Please do tell who'll stop me when the time comes?"

"Gedeon…..as long as there is darkness, he'll stop it with his own, he's not innocent, no, for all I know, can have hidden agendas just like every other Alexander I met so far," Alder seemed to radiate for a bit as he found the energy to speak.

"It's true; Gedeon is remarkable, but he's still not on par with the majority of the trainers I've seen, and you know it," Atlas countered with a confident smirk, only for it to be shot down by Alder's very own.

"You forget, he's an Alexander and the very best trainer out there, so I'll leave you with a warning, no, as one last lesson," A brief pause occurred as Alder finally managed to sit up and back into his chair. "Never underestimate Gedeon Alexander."

Dreams

"Brad….."

"Yeah, Lady Almina?"

"Did I just see you on TV?"

"Uuuuh….Yes, Ma'am."

Almina sighed into the palm of her hand.

"I should've known you wouldn't sit still."

"But it was my home! And Gedeon isn't in Unova right now;I'm the strongest there is to handle it!" Brad combated, only for Almina to give a disapproving frown.

"Didn't know you were a comedian, Brad."

"Urg, Ma'am….."

"Listen, I understand that feeling that helplessness, anger, rage; look at who my father was. He believed that Pokemon and Humans would never understand each other," Almina spoke up with a motherly tone. "And I once thought like that, well...somewhat, I cared deeply for my partner, but she did everything in her power to keep me safe from Kyurem that day, I could only look on in horror at the chilling death spear pierce her, and that was when I finally realized how weak I truly was, Brad."

"Almina…..I…"

"Listen, I'm saying is, humans, no, everything that breaths finds themselves at their lowest, to evolve and to grow and to learn from that low point, I'm no different. That's why I made this refugee base, so people and Pokemon can have a place to call home and find their purpose, to rewind and find themselves hope; you're no different. Everyone is my son and daughters here, you included; I'm much older than I look," Almina chuckled at the end, seeing Brad's jaw drop down a bit.

"Thank you, Almina; I think I'm going to do what he does."

"What? Become some Spider-Man wannabe? So you're what, Brad Parker, now?"

"NO!" Brad exclaimed with a red tint to his face, causing laughter to escape the lips of Almina.

"Ha! Yeah, whatever, and I'm suddenly Aunt May, anyway; if you truly want to do that, then go for it; that Sun guy seems eager as well."

"So, you're one of Gedeon's friends?"

"Yeah, we worked together; what's your connection?" The stern voice of Brad said to the grinning Sun.

"He's strong, and I simply want to test my full flare on him; his battles in Sinnoh were crazy to watch."

Brad couldn't help but inwardly sigh, Gedeon had a knack for attracting a wide variety of people, but this guy was just some battle-crazed trainer.

"I see, well, listen. Gedeon isn't here; he's out there training in Sinnoh for the upcoming war I heard; I'm merely going to be patrolling and helping out since I know people will use the war for their selfish gains."

Now that certainly got the attention of the visored-wearing trainer.

"Well, I have nothing else better; I'll join with ya."

"You're something else, man, but glad to have you. We're going to head to Castelia City. I've been getting reports of illegal smuggling of Pokemon," Brad gave Sun the details, who nodded his head.

Zaru, Sun's Infernape, seemed to give Sun a growl, which Sun caught on to and gave his partner a sad look.

"We're going to rescue any Pokemon that we see caged, right?"

"Of course, we need to be discreet about it."

"Professor," Professor Evo stopped what he was doing and turned his attention to one of his robotic companions.

"Yes, what is it?"

"You've been working non-stop; your vitals are worsening ever since you decided to create this new Pokemon."

"That's true, but I can't take this slow," Evo answered as he decided to look at the giant vial in front of him, watching the red substance, which was most likely blood, and another which was blue combining and swirling.

"I understand, but you're only human, sir…."

"Are you suggesting that me, the prestigious creator of you all, can't handle a job like this!" Clear anger began to bubble up within Evo as he scrunched up his face into a nasty scowl.

"N-no...I-"

"You're saying I'm weak, that my human shell is holding me back; that is what you're saying; please do tell me, what else did you mean."

The feminine robot, cloaked in a brown cowl, couldn't help but step back a bit at the venom-like voice within her creator's tone.

"Yes, Sir, I think if you….took some inspiration from us and encode it into yourself, you'd be able to become much better than you are now."

Evo stood up fully, with his shoulders shrugging around with slight cracking sounds being heard.

"Thank you for the suggestion. Did I ever give you a name?"

The robot shook her head, and a smile formed on Evo's face.

"Then I shall give you a name…..Hope, yes, that's the one. You'll help me with my upgrades," Evo walked out the darkroom, with newly dubbed Hope blinking her yellow eyes.

Dreams

Trey was many things, but not a liar. If he said he'd get a job done, he'll get the job done. He always succeeded because that was everything on his mind.

Success.

He grew up in a rich, lavish background, so he was quite pampered by his parents, and his siblings were as well. But Trey, he hated it. He hated how easy it was for his family to make money; he hated how easy it was to live a simple life.

Sure, the simple life was what everyone wanted, but his rich family was so lazy that it drove him insane. He wanted to work; he wanted to experience the world that held so many mysteries. One thing that drove him to be a spy was those infamous ninjas from the Kanto Region. They worked for their money, and it was inspiring to Trey.

So Trey did that; he traveled to Kanto to become a Ninja; having trained under Koga, who is now the Elite Four of the Johto Region; Trey went up the ranks with sheer determination and grit. Koga taught him the importance of success. The Elite Four member was surprised that Trey would leave his rich status behind to do dirty work, but he happily complied to train Trey.

Trey also met with Janine, Koga's daughter and the current Gym Leader for the Fuchsia City Gym. They became the best of friends and eventually did tie the knot and become a couple, with the permission of Koga, of course; Trey was needed back home in Unova, so that time of happiness was short, but Trey and Janine promised that they'd see each other again, eventually.

The young adult with pink eyes was running down the middle of a dirt path; in his hands seemed to be a briefcase with a hard metallic sheen to it.

"Well, that was a fairly easy mission; stealing a briefcase full of money is as easy as cooking a Magikarp." The voice of Trey was deep and haunting.

It was the middle of the night, so Trey blended in perfectly with black colored suit and cape. However, such sweet victory was getting sour as the sound of sirens was being heard, getting Trey to frown. He looked back to see a few motorcycles with sirens ringing.

'Was I sloppy?' Trey thought as he began to pick up speed. Trey shifted his eyes to his utility belt; he grabbed a cylinder-like object and popped the lid. He threw it with a mighty swing, and the contents splashed all on the ground.

"That should be it." Trey turned his attention back to the front as he jumped over a log.

CRASH!

Multiple crash sounds could be heard behind the retreating young adult, gaining a small smirk to his features.

"Now, time to head back to HQ and give in the goods."

That was all Trey said as he kept his pace.

"Amanda, are you here?"

"Of course I am; I sent Trey to grab me some money for some purchases," The tech-savvy lady sat on a chair as she spun it to look at Jason.

"So, that kid can do a lot; the new generation can do a lot," Jason chuckled, feeling quite envious of the younger generation.

"The Advanced Generation, that has a nice ring to it, right?"

"It does, kinda cheesy, but it's whatever," Jason shrugged. "I got a mission to do, I'm going to survey what happens in Sinnoh, so I'm going to head out."

"Bring me a souvenir," Amanda said as she spun around with a wave, her voice a bit chirpy.

"Heh, sure, I'm off!"

Atlas walked back into the HQ and saw the figure of Jason approach.

"Oh, Boss, you're back already? How was the date?"

"Yes, I am. Are you going to Sinnoh now?"

"Yeah, just like you ordered me too," Jason answered; he saw the sharp glare his boss had as if he heard something extremely frightening.

"Good, I want you to pay close attention to Gedeon Alexander, study his style, his person, everything. He will be a big problem that I hope to get rid of before I see my goals finalized."

"Riiight, I got ya," Atlas walked away further into the corridor, leaving Jason behind.

'Did I hear….fear? Maybe I should ask this Gedeon for some help while I'm over there.'

Dreams

"I never once been to Sinnoh; this is a first for me."

"No worries, Clair, Lance informed me to pick you," The voice of Looker pitched in.

"Of course he did; he is always one step ahead," Clair chuckled loosely.

"I won't lie, I was surprised he would go to Unova instead of being here, but he must have absolute faith in you to send you in his place," Looker said, his features showing a smile forming on his face.

The blue-haired dragon trainer only grumbled before she looked ahead to see a large group of people.

"So, you're here now, Clair?"

"Karen, I should've known you would be here," Clair smiled as she came up to her friend.

"So we're all here now?" The voice of Drake interrupted.

"Seems so, and with Lance gone, I guess I'll be the one to give the speech this time," Looker sighed heavily; he took out a cigar and lit it instantly. This mission would take a lot out of him, and he was nervous.

He is nervous because he may never live in the next few days, with the biggest threat the world has ever seen looming over like a blanket of darkness.

"Well, It seems that Gedeon isn't here as well, bummer," This time, Flint spoke with disappointment in his tone.

"He's off getting some last-minute training; I don't blame him," Malva this time, spoke, with her classy voice all in it.

After a few minutes, Looker asked everyone to sit down and pay attention; since he wasn't used to such a crowd, he'll only say what's needed to be said once, and in the hope that he could boost the morale of the Elite Four and Champions with his speech, possibly the last speech they'll ever hear.

Lance was currently in one location where he knew Alder would be residing, Black Forest. It was a rather beautiful forest with a large tree centering it, which was used as a facility for Pokemon Trainers who wanted to test their metal against the champion of the tree, Benga. They happened to be Alder's grandson; Benga was possibly as strong as Lance.

"Alder hasn't been seen in a few days, I wonder," Lance began to search by the abnormally large tree and start there. Alder was most likely grieving his friend, Drayden, from what Lance learned recently died protecting Unova.

It was a big blow to Lance's feelings, of course; Drayden was well respected amongst the Dragon Tamers and those who trained Dragons. But Lance had no time to brawl tears and sob; he needed to whip Alder back into shape, even if he had to drag the older champion out of his house and into the public.

Lance had been searching for hours without much to go on, no one around had seen Alder, and Benga was avoiding his grandfather for some odd reason. That was when Lance felt someone behind him; he quickly turned around in a swift motion to see Alder standing there, his eyes looked a bit dull, but they were regaining some light in them.

"I've heard you've been looking for me, Lance; I'm surprised you would come here instead of going to Sinnoh for the battle."

"Yeah, well, I sent Clair and Liza there. Both of them will make up for me, but we seriously need to talk, Alder," Lance quickly got to business, with Alder only nodding.

"Sure, what is it?'

"I can already tell you're planning on stepping down from being Champion, and to be quite frank, I don't blame you after everything that has happened recently."

"Yeah, I am; I still haven't figured out who to take my spot. There are so many choices, yet they're not ready for the burden," Alder held a bottle of water in his hand, bringing it up to chug it down.

"I was going to recommend Gedeon, but he's the type not willing to take freebies, so that would leave Iris, the one who Drayden taught," Lance suggested, which Alder took time to ponder on.

"Yes, she's young, but out of Gedeon and her, Iris would likely be the best bet," Alder replied, liking the idea of Iris being the next champion.

"That's right, for now, let's head the village; I'll have to give my regards."

"Damn, this tower is insane," The slightly muffled voice came from Gedeon as he finally approached what seemed to be the end of the tower.

"This was where the source of the rumbling was occurring from," Darkrai spoke while billowing about.

"I appreciate the help, although I was expecting some Pokemon to be here, bummer."

Just then, another rumble occurred, getting Gedeon and Darkrai to be on edge.

"Re-regi-ice-regi-regi-iiice!" A broken-up speech entered the daunting cold room.

Gedeon and Darkrai looked back to see a moving block of ice, no, a titan made entirely of ice, as if it was the personification of it.

"A Regice? Not what I was expecting, but it seems like it wants to fight!"

Just then, Darkrai appeared out of the shadows and prepared to fight the Titan of ice, whose brail-like dots on its head began to shine a bright yellowish gold. A beam of Ice shot forth with a frost-like sound towards Darkrai.

"Evade! Then go with Drain Punch!" Darkrai avoided the ice beam by entering the shadows before leaping out again with its fist glowing emerald green; it struck Regice directly on the chest, making the Titan fall back a few meters.

But, Regice wasn't done; it went for another Ice Beam; this time, it was much more powerful, bigger, and faster.

"Protect!" Gedeon called out with haste; this Regice wasn't going to mess around; it was trying to protect something, but what could it have been?

Darkrai successfully blocked the devastating beam of ice, but some of its protective barriers were chipping away, which Gedeon noticed.

"Dark Pulse!" Darkrai flew into the air and cupped its hands together before dark energy began to form. Regice followed suit and began to charge up a blue orb that began to cause the ground to shake under pressure.

"NOW!" Gedeon didn't want to take a chance; that attack the Regice was preparing would be dangerous if it connected with Darkrai; if Gedeon had to guess, it would kill Darkrai.

Sure Pokemon killed others to survive, as even most Pokedex entries state that, but that was for survival; this Regice was going the extra mile to protect something, which Gedeon didn't figure out what.

"Flazz! Get out here and use Fire Punch!" Normally, Gedeon wouldn't play unfairly, but this isn't about just capturing another pokemon; it was now a fight for survival, and Gedeon knew better than to play by the rules now.

Magmar sprung out into the fray with its fist cloaked in intense flames, it punched Regice in the knee area, which seemed to cause Regice to misfire its attack, and thanks to Magmar, Darkrai's attack landed on the mark, causing Regice to spiral back into a wooden wall with a loud bang to it.

"Was that wise to summon Magmar to assist?" Darkrai asked with a hint of disappointment in its tone.

"Yes, otherwise, that attack would have killed you," Gedeon answered back bluntly as he surveyed the wall that Regice went in through. "It was protecting something here, but I don't know what."

"Maybe-"

"Bhbhbhbh!"

Gedeon, Darkrai, and Magmar looked towards the west wing, only to see another Titan, Regirock, appear, getting the current trio to all groan in frustration as another appeared suddenly.

"Could this be a test?"

"I'm certain it is; all we can do is keep fighting. It would be wise to withdraw Magmar for Dewott."

Gedeon agreed with a nod and returned Magmar, and in its place came Dewott, who was eager to fight.

"Mera, Razor Shell!" Dewott wasted no time and went for the attack; Regirock had already destroyed the mid-evolution starter with a hefty punch to its gut sending it flying into Gedeon himself.

"Enough! Why are you angry!" Darkrai tried to communicate with the Titan of rock but was met with it charging in for an attack. Darkrai growled and went into the shadows to retreat.

The Regirock looked around until it saw Regice appear out of the wall.

"Our mission…..done, yes?" The Regice talked with Regirock, who gave a deep and hoarse grunt.

"Registeel…..up next, will they win?" Regice questioned no one as it went down an icy path, with Regirock going down a rocky, mountainous path.

Gedeon and Mera, his Dewott, were sent barreling through the tower, with Gedeon having recalled Mera as she was knocked out cold in one hit. Gedeon was no fool, but he knew that these Titans were extremely strong for what they were; Regice was abnormally more powerful than what Gedeon predicated, but Regirock was the scariest, having sent him flying.

If it was one thing Gedeon felt, it was weakness. Gedeon thought he was strong for having fought a Heatran, but no, he was dead wrong. Gedeon wasn't as strong as he thought. Even with all his training at Mt. Pyre, even in Unova. So So Gedeon stood there with a defeated look; he didn't even notice the Titan of steel standing before him.

"What is…..the matter?" Gedeon snapped his head towards the voice, finally seeing Registeel standing there quietly.

"Oh great, I'm getting consulted by a walking giant of steel," Gedeon decided to fall on his rear, staring up at the Registeel. "I guess I feel weak; I mean, I did all this training just to get pummeled by your….brother?"

Gedeon heard a tune come from Registeel, which he could've sworn was just a chuckle in its way.

"Strength….isn't everything, you….trained, but trained for what purpose?"

"I trained to better myself, to better my Pokemon as well."

"Yes, but did you do it because the world is at an unbalance? Did you do it because that is what makes a trainer?"

Gedeon sat there in a brief period of silence as he tried to formulate an answer for the Legendary Pokemon, but nothing conjured up. Did he forget why he wanted to be the strongest?

"I have no clue why….it's as if I forgot something," Gedeon gripped his head in frustration, only to hear a chuckle from behind the Registeel.

"Ya know, kid, you were always hardheaded, but then again, we made good partners because of that."

"Wait….Susanoo?" Gedeon watched as a figure came from the left side of Registeel, and Gedeon felt as if his eyes were playing tricks.

"Sorry for being gone for a long time; I needed to get my corporeal form so I could be of help," Susanoo wore a ripped-up white shirt with black cargo pants and Japanese-styled sandals.

"So that's why you mysteriously vanished? You could've said something!" Gedeon gave a low yell as his voice echoed; his face showed anger, with his fist balling up tightly. Susanoo sighed.

"True, but you heavily relied on me; I needed you to be independent; think of it as training, kid, life is harsh, and everyone will leave you abruptly. However, all you can do is move on and face everything head-on."

"I swear, you're not helping; if anything, you're giving me more reason to punch you in the face now that you have a physical body," Susanoo chuckled under his large straw hat.

"Let's not do that, yeah? Anyway, the endgame is approaching, and you're not ready for Orochi and Asmodeus as of now, so I'm going to whip you into shape, understood?"

Gedeon stood there silently before a grin appeared on his face.

"You bet!"

End!

AN: And finished, Sorry if this chapter was all over the place, i'm not happy with it right now but this will do. Now that i'm near the ending of this arc it becomes harder to find the right way to make it end while making everything connect.

Next chapter will be big as i'm hoping to end it all, so expect a LONG chapter, This will be up December 3rd so i'll start writing the final chapter of this arc on Monday the 6th, so feel free give some ideas within that time frame.

Again, feel free to leave your feedback, any sort of OC submissions or general idea of who Gedeon should be paired with.

Have a good weekend and stay safe!
