Chapter 7: Jet Ski Race

"Last time on Totally Epic, it was boys vs girls in a prank war. In the end it was Jaime who was voted off for not really participating and forgetting to place laxative in the girls dinner. Who'll win, and who'll go home next? Find out this time, on Totally Epic!" Monica announced.

The following morning the girls were using the stuff they bought with their gift cards.

"I love my new shoes and jeans." said Yasmine.

"I picked out this new Xbox." Magdalena informed.

"I got some brand new shirts, and a box of my favorite cookies." Madison mentioned.

"Get a load of my new boots, and my new headphones." said Dixie.

"What'd you get, Hayley?" Yasmine wondered.

"I got a shirt, pants, an interesting book, and these yummy looking snack cakes."

"Seems like you splurged a bit." observed Magdalena.

"I don't shop much at home."

"I'm really enjoying being on this show. I've taken a break from my training, eating new foods, and shopping. This is great." Hayley told the camera.

"Attention contestants, report to the mess hall for breakfast." announced Monica.

They all left their trailers, and walked towards the mess hall. The girls snickered when they saw the guys wearing pink clothes.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up." remarked Conrad.

"Don't worry, fellas. It'll wash out." Dixie told them.

In the mess tent, they had eggs and bacon and then Monica and Co-hostess Hailey came in. "Good morning contestants. Quick announcement, the teams are now merged. It's now every contestant for themselves." Monica informed.

"I can't believe I made it to the merge." said Joshua.

"This is so exciting. I didn't think I'd get this far." Yasmine told.

"I hope you're ready to get wet because this challenge takes place at the beach." Monica added.

"Awesome." said Joshua.

"After you finish eating, change into your bathing suits, and meet us near the road." instructed Co-hostess Hailey.

So after they all finished, they went back into their trailers, changed into their bathing suits, and met at the road. They loaded into a bus, and Monica and Co-hostess Hailey drove them to the beach.

Once they got there, they got on the beach, and Monica explained the day's challenge.

"For today's challenge, you'll be participating in a race."

"But not just any race, right Monica?" asked Co-hostess Hailey.

"That's right, it's a jet ski race."

That impressed the teens.

"For the challenge you'll have to race across a couple miles of the ocean on jet skis. To make sure you don't get lost, we've placed five bright red buoys as markers. First one to pass the final buoy which is green wins."

"Jet skis, cool. I've heard it's a lot like biking only better." Conrad said.

The contestants were given life vests, and were shown the way to the jet skis. By the shore was the green buoy.

"As you can see, the starting point is also the finishing point. The winner gets served their favorite dinner tonight, the last one to cross will be eliminated. Now mount your vehicles."

The teens each picked out a jet ski, and got on. After giving a quick tutorial on how to use the controls and steer, they were ready.

"Everyone ready?" asked Monica.

"Ready." they all replied.

"On you marks...get set...go!"

And with that, the teens took off into the water.

"Whoa, this certainly feels different." said Caleb.

"Yeah, but fun. See you later, Caleb." Magdalena told him, zooming off.

"Hey!" Even though they knew they were in a race, they couldn't help but goof off a bit.

"Now this is how you race." said Zachary, and he went faster.

"I'm so winning this race!" yelled Dixie, as she drove past some of the other contestants.

"This jet skiing is really fun. I'm going to have to get one back home." Dixie told.

Dixie was taking the lead, and managed to get to the first red buoy first.

"And Dixie takes the lead." announced Monica through her megaphone.

"You're not gonna have the lead for long, Dixie!" yelled Joshua.

"You have to pass me first!" Dixie yelled back.

"Whoa, this definitely isn't for the faint of heart." Zachary remarked, as he tried to control his jet ski.

"Don't worry, Zachary." Yasmine told him, as she pulled up besides him.

"You're doing great."

"Thanks."

And they both drove forward.

"It could be anyone's race. Who'll win, who'll lose? Find out on Totally Epic!" Monica announced to the crowd.

The teens continued to race on the water. Dixie was still going pretty fast, but Caleb was coming close.

"Sorry, Dixie, but I'm winning now." he told her.

"Hey!" she protested.

"And now Caleb takes the lead." Monica observed.

"Come on, you ski go faster." Madison urged, as she sped up.

"Coming through!" shouted Magdalena as she zipped past her.

"How much further to the next buoy?" wondered Conrad.

"It can't be too much further." Hayley told him.

"Wait, I think I can see it." Joshua said, coming up behind them.

It was true, the next red buoy was just ahead. Everyone put their jet skis into higher gear. It ended up being Caleb who passed it first.

"And Caleb passes the second red buoy, taking the lead!" Co-hostess Hailey announced.

"You're not gonna have the lead for long, Caleb!" Dixie shouted.

"Just try and catch me then!" Caleb shouted back.

And so the race kept going on, with each racer getting to take the lead, except for Madison. Then it was about time to end the race. It was either going to be Dixie or Joshua that would be declared the winner.

"It's coming close, who'll win this challenge?" Monica wondered out loud.

The two put their jet skis into higher gear, and hurried to the green buoy.

"And the winner is..." Co-hostess Hailey started.

And with that, Dixie passed the green buoy, and got on the beach first.

"Dixie!" she finished.

Dixie was so happy she yelled in delight and jumped off the jet ski. The rest of the contestants quickly passed the buoy, trying not to be last.

"And it looks like the one going home tonight is..." Monica started.

Everyone looked, and saw that...Madison was the last one to cross.

"Aww man." Madison complained.

"Sorry, Madison, as soon as we get back to the set, you gotta go."

"I can't believe I'm going home. I should've gone faster." Madison complained.

When they got back, Madison had her bag ready.

"Sorry you lost, Madison." Yasmine told her.

"Thanks, but I still wish I could've gone forward in the competition."

"Well it was nice being on the same team when we were." Joshua added.

Madison smiled, and then left the lot.

"And there goes another contestant. Who'll be the next one to leave, who'll get to stay? Find out next time on Totally Epic!" Monica announced to the crowd.

11th place: Benneth

10th place: Jaime

9th place: Madison
