Ocean girl season 1
Author's note; It's technically still summer, so I'm giving everyone the best summer ever with this new fanfiction.
Chapter 1 New girl
Annie Yesconis slouched in the car as it went through the streets of Florence Oregon. She was tired of being in the car leaving her old life in Alberta to Oregon was a hard thing for her. She was fourteen, which made her a high school freshman!
Her father Alex and her stepmother Vivian had been quiet for most of the trip too. Her father was a school teacher and had gotten a new job at her new school. Her parents had divorced when she was eleven and Alex had been married to Vivian for the past seven months.
Annie and Vivian had a good relationship, but she still kept in touch with her mother. Vivian loved cooking and did most of the cooking at home.
"Here we are," declared Alex.
Annie moved the red hair hanging over her eyes and looked up to see a joining house. The car parked in the driveway on the left side of the house.
A middle-aged woman was waiting outside for them. She had straight shoulder length hair, green eyes and wore a blouse with pink and red floral pattern. To Annie she looked like the type of woman who loved nature.
"Welcome," said the woman cheerfully. "I'm Leesha Spears. I live next door to you."
"Nice to meet you Ms. Spears," said Alex in a friendly voice. "I'm Alex Yesconis and this is my wife Vivian, and my daughter Annie."
"It's so nice to meet you," said Ms. Spears. "I love living in costal towns, don't you Annie?"
"Well, we lived in Jasper, Alberta," shrugged Annie. "So, I've never had much experience with oceans."
"I think you're going to love it here," said Ms. Spears. "The ocean is very beautiful. And you'll love the sweet sea breeze."
A few minutes later, while Annie was helping her parents and the movers unpack. A girl around her age came along. She had honey colored hair and turquoise eyes, she wore a black tank top with a picture of Taylor Swift, black and white argyle pants, black roller skates and a sky-blue helmet.
"Hi," said the girl. "I'm Rachel Yearwood."
"Hi, I'm Annie," replied Annie smiling.
Alex and Vivian smiled; Annie was making a new friend already."
"You want to go roller skating?" asked Rachel.
Annie was excited, she loved roller skating.
"Can I go roller skating dad?" she asked.
"Sure sweetie," said Alex. "Be back for dinner."
Annie put on her roller skates and helmet and the two girls rode off through town.
"So, what school do you go to?" asked Annie.
Buchanan high," replied Rachel.
"That's the school I'm going to," said Annie excitedly. "My dad's the new history teacher." She was excited to be going to school with Rachel. She could tell they were going to be best friends.
The two girls were skating on main street. They rode on the sidewalk. Just then Annie bumped into someone.
She looked up to see a blond girl around her age. She wore a purple top with a black skirt with green and white flowers. She had been coming out of a fro-yo shop and Annie running into her caused birthday cake fro-yo to go all over her shirt.
"Look what you did!" screamed the girl. "You made me spill my fro-yo all over my clothes!"
"I'm sorry!" cried Annie trying to whip some of it off.
Rachel rode up next to her.
Two girls walked out of the shop. They both had dark brown hair, but in different styles, the one on the left had hers worn over her shoulders and wore a maroon top with pink spots and hot pink jeans. The one on the right had hers wavy and wore a cheetah pattern top with red capris.
The girl on the left had lime fro-yo and the girl on the right had vanilla fro-yo.
"What happened?" asked the girl on the left.
The other looked at Annie and Rachel.
"Did she do this?" she asked pointing at Annie.
"She did" snapped the blond girl.
"Calm down Irene," Rachel said defensively. "It was an accident!"
"You roller girls are disasters," Irene said snootily. "Let's go girls."
The three girls walked away.
"You know that girl?" asked Annie as they rolled away from the fro-yo shop.
"That's Irene Frost," sighed Rachel. "She's president of the drama club. If you want to survive Buchanan high, stay away from them. Those other girls are her cronies Trish Callahan and Kelsey Tear."
Annie sighed, she'd only been in Florence for a couple hours and already she had gotten on the school queen bee's bad side.
…
Monday morning came, Alex drove Annie to school. They lived only two blocks away from the school. Annie and Alex climbed out of the car and separated. It was the middle of September, so the weather was still warm.
Annie was happy she didn't have drama class on her class schedule since Irene was president of the drama club, she had a feeling she'd be in drama class with her.
The morning went by easily for her. That afternoon after lunch was history class and much to Annie's happiness Irene wasn't in class with her just like morning classes. But unfortunately having Irene's friends Trish and Kelsey made up for Irene not being there.
But to make Annie feel better, Rachel was in history too. And they got to sit next to each other.
"Rachel," whispered Annie as her father was talking about the declaration of independence. "Who's that boy?"
Sitting up front was a boy. He had light brown hair and auburn-colored eyes.
"That's Parker Gaxiola," replied Rachel. "He's on the swim team."
Annie seemed to like Parker. But she looked back and saw Kelsey and Trish whispering to each other.
When the bell rang, everyone cleared out.
"Hey," said a voice.
Annie turned around and saw Parker looking at her.
"Hey" said Annie with a nervous smile.
"You're new around here aren't you?" he asked.
"Yeah," said Annie admittingly. "I'm from Alberta. I'm Annie Yesconis."
"I'm Parker," said Parker shaking Annie's hand. "You and the new teacher have the same last names."
"He's my father," explained Annie. "He got transferred here. That's why we moved."
"Well, I think he's great," said Parker. "Do you swim?"
"I prefer roller skating," said Annie. "I don't really swim much."
"I could teach you if you like," said Parker.
"That would be nice" replied Annie.
With that she left the room.
…
That afternoon Annie and Rachel were walking home.
"Come by to the beach tonight," said Rachel. "You've got to see the sea lion caves. Over the summer holiday I saw something in the caves."
"Well okay," said Annie unsurely. "I'll have to ask my parents."
After dinner that night Annie asked her parents if she could see Rachel at the beach.
"Sure," said Vivian. "Just be careful."
"And don't stay out to late" added Alex.
Annie promised and left.
It was almost moonrise by the time Annie got to the beach. There weren't to many people there. Just a few people having a party or couples having a walk along the shore.
Rachel was waiting for her there.
"Come on," said Rachel excitedly. "It's this way."
Rachel led Annie to a rocky area on the beach. There was the entrance to a cave in the area and took Annie inside.
"I found the entrance to the sea lion caves during summer holiday," Rachel explained as they walked through the tunnel. "I came here a lot and I found this."
Annie was astonished at the sight. There in the chamber was a moonpool. She watched as the moonlight shone into the water.
They walked to the edge of the water.
"What's that?" asked Rachel.
"What?" asked Annie.
"There" Rachel pointed.
Annie looked closer.
At the bottom of the pool, was a tiny white fragment. Annie grabbed a stick and place it in the water.
"It's not deep," Annie said taking off her shoes. "I'll just wade in and get it."
"Be careful," said Rachel.
Annie carefully waded into the pool and walked across the sandy ground in the pool. She looked up at the full moon above the cave. She was just bending over to grab the fragment when she noticed the water was rippling and bubbling.
The two girls were speechless as it happened. And then as quickly as it started, it stopped.
The two girls were quiet for a minute.
Annie bent down and grabbed the fragment and walked back to the edge of the pool where Rachel helped her climb out.
"Let's get out of here" said Rachel worriedly.
Annie nodded, she put her shoes back on and the two girls ran home.
…
The next morning, Annie got up. She was too tired to think about what had happened last night.
Once she got out of bed, she brushed her teeth and had a quick shower before school.
She was just in the shower for a few seconds, when she suddenly felt wobbly and fell over.
"What?" she muttered. And when she looked, she saw her legs had transformed into a copper-colored fish tail and she was wearing a matching bakini!
Author's note; For those who have watched the reboot series of charmed. This fanfiction is based on the first season. You'll see a lot of similarities to the season. For example, Annie is similar to the Vera sisters.
