Everyone has a gift, an alvin and the chipmunks fanfic

" ALVIN, AN AUTOGRAPH PLEASE! YOU´RE SO AMAZING!" The girls yelling muddled, it´s crowded in the school´s hallway. Alvin writes with a big grin his name on a card, that a blonde girl held up. He looks over To Brittany, who leans on a locker with crossed arms and holds the girls in her view. He winks at her and signs the next autograph. On the weekend after spring recess the chipmunks had a concert, where a bunch of exchange students from another school was invited, mainly girls. Now they all wanted an autograph by the boys, especially Alvin. As a girl wanna kiss him on the cheek, he rejects friendly but definitely. Brittany gives the girl a death glare. When the school bell rings, Alvin waves around, walked over to Britany, and wraps his arms around her. " Well, ladies, ready for now, we gotta go for the next class! More autographs during lunchtime!" Brittany kisses him, some of the girls sigh disappointedly.

With linked arms, both chipmunks walked away. Brittany shakes her head. " Oh brother, are that girls awkward! As if you´re sooo amazing! And sooo sweet!" She teases him. Alvin raises his eyebrows. " Hey, I´m, poured with sugar!" He lowers his voice. " Of course not so poured with sugar like you, Sweetie!" She giggles. " You little charmer!" She was happy, that he stays decent when his groupies are around. In the past, he exploits his popularity to date and impresses several girls. They both were for four months an official couple and he works on it. A little show-off and mischief he would always be, but he becomes trustworthy. He didn´t forget dates and appointments and was never too late. He cares for their relationship.

He never told her what happened on Christmas, but whatever it was, it changed his thinking about the two. Brittany saw herself, that he´s still decent when he was on his own. A by the boys very desired girls flirted with him and asked him out. Brittany standing around a corner, Alvin didn´t notice her. He rejects the offer and said he has an amazing girlfriend. A year ago Brittany wouldn´t imagine that it gets this sweet. Alvin Seville takes something seriously, his relationship with her. When they arrived at the door to the classroom, she kisses him on his cheek, he laughs. " What´s that for?" She smiles. " Because it is so beautiful with you, Alvie!"

Both grinning as someone stops in front of them. It was a very slim girl with long black hair, grey glasses, a lemon-colored top, and a blue skirt. She gives a shy smile and held a folder in her arms. " Sorry, but I must tell you...WHAT GREAT MUSIC YOU MAKE! WAAAH!" She laughs. Alvin and Brittany grinned, that girl was a big fan. The red-cladded chipmunk straightens his cap. " Thank you, you are one of the exchange students, right?" The girl nods. " Yes, my name is Yvette and I´m a big fan of your bands! You live your dream, you´re a couple, that´s great!" Alvin laughs, Brittany smiles. " You want some autographs?" Yvette laughs then she gets two cards out of her folder. On one was a picture of Alvin, on the other one of Brittany. Yvette get a pen out of her folder and handed it over to them both. Both sign the cards and gave them to the girl, who takes them with a big smile. " Thanks, that´s so colled! See ya!"

She walks of...directly against a locker. Some students laughed, as she hits the floor with her bottom. She blushes and tried to get up, losing her folder and the cards. Alvin and Brittany came over to help her up, the pink-cladded Chipette looked concerned. " You´re alright?" Alvin throws a death glare around. " Funny, stop laughing, guys! If you weren´t clumsy sometimes!" He handed Yvette her stuff, she sighs. " That happens so often, my mum says I´m so unsafe and shy! Man!" Brittany rubs soothing her arm. " Don´t let the laughter come close, my sister was sometimes clumsy too, but with time it doesn´t hurt so much!" Yvette pats some dust from her skirt then she smiles. " Thank you, that´s sweet! See ya!" She rushes away, this time she looks, where she walks. Brittany smiles. " She´s nice, a bit clumsy, but nice!" Alvin nodes, then he startles. " Yo, Uhm, we´re too late!" Both run into the classroom.

During lunch the Chipettes and the chipmunks sitting at their table. The cafeteria was more crowded than usual, because the exchange students are around, too. Again the girls stood at the table and asked the chipmunks for autographs. That they got a little privacy was up to Brittany, who gives a death glare at every girl, that wanted to take a seat next to Alvin. Suddenly he looks up. " Hey, there´s Yvette!" He looks over to Brittany. " Do we wanna ask her if she wants to join us?" She nodes, then she waves at the girl, who holds her tray and looks a bit unsure around. When she saw Brittany, she waves a bit shy back and came over. " Hey, everything´s fine?" Alvin laughs. " Of course, only some fans! Do you wanna take a seat and join us?" Yvette widens her eyes. " Spending time with you? Really?" Brittany taps beside her right on the bench. " We wouldn´t ask if it wasn´t so!" The shy girl takes a seat and Brittany introduces her to the other chipmunks. While they eat their lunch they talked a bit with Yvette, who gets more and more comfortable. She was very nice, came from Sacra- mento was housed with a guest family here, whose daughter was her pen pal, and loves music. She wants to get to a college for music when she finished high school. When the lunch break was over, she said goodbye with a big smile on her face. " You guys are very friendly! See ya!" She rushed on. When Alvin emptied his glass with juice, they heard a crash.

Everybody looks up.

Yvette sat on the floor, her tray in her hands, a trash can lies in front of her, the trash spread all over the floor. Brittany sighs. " Well, she has bad luck!" She and her sisters rushed over to the girl and helped her to stand up. Someone laughs, but an angry look at Brittany stopped it immediately.

When the six chipmunks were on their way to the next class, Jeanette sighs. " Poor Yvette, I know how she felt!" The others were noded.

The next break the six chipmunks sat together on the grass in the schoolyard, when they heard a familiar voice. Yvette runs over to them, she looks very serious. Alvin smiles when she stops in front of them. Brittany grins. " Hey, Yvette, you´re fine? Wanna take a seat?" The girl looks unsure again. " Yes, Uhm, sure! But, I need your help! I don´t wanna know what to do!" Brittany frowns. " What´s up?" Yvette sighs. " I showed the other girls the autographs and they laughed about me! They said you only gave me the autographs because of pity because I'm so clumsy!" All six looked at her in shock, Eleanor clears her throat. " That´s mean!" Brittany raises her eyebrows. " Do they saying stuff like that very often?" " Yes, all the time! I am clumsy, too shy, boys don´t like me, and so on!" The six looked at each other, there has something to be done. Alvin turns to Yvette. " You got something you are very good with?" Yvette pushes around. " Well, Uhm, i..." Brittany smiles. " Come on, tell us!" The girl takes a deep breath. " I, I c-can play the h-harp!" Alvin puts a finger on his chin and made a thinking face than he laughs and jumped up. " Got it, follow me!" He ran to the main building, the other chipmunks and Yvette followed him, all a little confused. They ran through the hallway, when they bent off, Brittany starts to grin. " Drama and music classrooms, I think I know where we go!"

When they came to an open door, Alvin entered it, followed by the others. An elderly blonde man with grey sideburns with a blue jacket sorts by some music sheets, when he notices the kids. He smiles mildly. " Alvin, Brittany, what´s the matter? Interested in learning new instruments? I mean, singing lessons you six don´t need!" Then he looks over to Yvette. " Or is it a new student for my class? Hello young lady!" Brittany grins. " Nearly, mister Quincy!" Alvin laughs. " Our good friend Yvette knows something about playing the harp and we wanna know how good she is!" The music teacher smiles and stood up. " Well, no problem! A little favor for some of my most talented students!" He steps to the side and pulls a blanket beside him, a big harp comes in view. " Well, Yvette, show us a bit!"

The girl smiles shy, but she nodes and takes a seat on a chair at the harp. Slowly she tested out some grips, then she started to play. Now all six chipmunks and the teacher held their breath. It was beautiful, Yvette was really good. She had her eyes closed and smiles happily. After some minutes she opened her eyes and looked unsure around. " Was that okay?"

Alvin gulps. " Okay?" Brittany wipes a tear off her face. " This...this was so beautiful! It touches the heart!" Her sisters nodded, they both and Theodore wipe over their eyes too. Simon nodded respectfully. " This was amazing!" Mister Quincy applause. " You are very good, Yvette! You´re talented!" The girl blushes of all that praising and grins. " My parents say the same!" " They are right!" Said Jeanette. Alvin grins and snaps with his finger. " I got an idea! After that, they wouldn´t laugh about you anymore!" Everyone looked at him. He giggles and stated telling them his plan.

This Friday the Chipettes and the chipmunks gave a short-term concert in the school´s auditorium, official it was an encore to their concert the weekend before. It was a quiet back and for with the principal Miss Pinch and their class teacher Miss Mooney to allow it, but when Avin told the two what it´s about and Mister Quincy gets involved, the principal and the class teacher agreed.

Now it´s the moment, the auditorium was full. Alvin peeks through the curtain, his view gets Dave, who sat in the first rank with Miss Miller and Miss Mooney. Miss Pinch sits on the side and looks warily over everything. Dave and Miss Miller were into the plan too and also agreed. Alvin closes the curtain and looked to the other's back. " You all ready?" His brothers and the Chipettes noded. Yvette sits beside him and looks a bit lost. " And you´re sure, this works?" Brittany winks. " When we´re on the stage, you just begin to play the harp! Just close your eyes, then it´s easier, you can do that!" She and her sisters grinned, Yevette gets a bit relaxed. Mister Quincy came over. " Just five minutes! Good luck!"Then he pushes the curtain beside him and enters the stage. The six chipmunks checked on their microphones, Yvette does on her harp. The six wouldn´t play any musical instruments, only singing. And Yvette on the harp. At the rehearsals she did very well, now it´s needful that she didn´t get too nervous. Jeanette walks over to her. " You can do this! They laughed about you, but today you show them, that you got it! I was to this too! Everybody has a gift! And we´re stronger than we know!" The others agreed, Yvette smiles. " Thank you for giving me that chance, you guys are great!" Then they heard Mister Quincy.

" Dear students, teachers, parents, family members, and friends, I´m glad to introduce the Chipettes and the chipmunks to you, including a special guest of honor! We can await an amazing concert! And here they are!" He steps aside and the curtain opened. All six chipmunks standing in line, Yvette sat on their left with the harp. A whisper gets through the crowd. Alvin could see, that the jaws of the exchange student girls dropped. A couple and a girl in their middle noded through Yvette with a smile, must be the guest family. He gave Yvette a wink, she began to play. A second later the six started to sing.

Chipettes: Have no fear, follow your dream,

don´t fall back and don´t do scream.

Chipmunks: Go for your goal, take your chance,

you can do, you can win, don´t care how advanced.

Chipettes: Now is your time, take a breath and let us go,

cross the line to the stars and never say no.

Chipmunks: On top of the world, everyone now can see,

you are more than they thought and forever you be.

Yvette´s eyes are closed and she plays so beautifully, that the viewers get wet eyes, even the six chipmunks lag a bit while they sing.

All six: The talent you got, now we see and fell,

what it is that you do and it felt so real.

Everyone in the world is master in a thing,

whatever it is, if you can dance, act or sing.

Yvette ends up the song, she and the six bow to the viewers.

When the last note fades away, it was silent for a moment. Yvette looks a bit unsure into the crowd.

Then everyone applauded, standing up from their seats, and cheered. Brittany grabs Yvette's hand and guides her to the middle of the stage, all six chipmunks surrounded her, laughing. Yvette bows again to the viewers, her guest family waves happily. The applause didn´t stop. Alvin looks over to Dave, Miss Miller, and Miss Mooney. The three cheered too, Dave winks at him. As the red-cladded chipmunk peaked over to Miss Pinch, he saw that the principal applause with a smile and nodded to him. He smirks, they did well with this.

Mister Quincy came over to Yvette. " I heard you wanna go to a college for music when you finished high school! Do you know until now which one?" She laughs. " The San Francisco Conservatorium for music!" The teacher reaches her with a document. " This is a letter of recommendation by me! Call me when you apply for the conservatorium!" Yvette smiles happily. " Thank you, Mister Quincy!" He smiles and shakes her hand, then he leaves the stage. When the six chipmunks and Yvette leave the stage too, the girls from Yvette's school surrounding her. They all looked a bit embarrassed. " Sorry Yvette, this wasn´t cool of us!" " You played so beautifully, didn´t know that you can do that!" " You performed with the chipmunks and the Chipettes, you are cool!" They tapped her on her shoulders and laughed with her, this time not about her. Yvette laughs too and walked over to the six chipmunks, she hugs them all one after another.

" Thank you for all, this was so nice of you! You´re so cool!"Then she turns to the other girls with a giggle, one of them waves over to her. " Yvette let's go, we all wanna go for dinner in a Chinese restaurant! You with us?" Yvette looks back to Alvin and Brittany, both noded. "Let us go, have fun!" The girl laughs, her shyness was gone. " Alright, let's go!" She closes to the other girls and they left the auditorium.

Alvin turns to Brittany. " Well, how did I do this?" She looked at him, half amused, half annoyed. " YOU? We! Okay, the idea with Mister Quincy was great, but the concert was a thing of us all!" He noded. " Okay, you´re right! But you must admit, sometimes my ideas are really good!" She giggles and kissed him on the cheek. " What you did for Yvette was sweet of you, I´m proud of you, Alvie!" He blushes a bit and grins.

He still smiled at his girlfriend when they left the auditorium...and stumbles over a trash can. The others stopped, Brittany smiles. " Well, what do we now for your self-confidence?" She giggles, Alvin, waves the words away. " A little mishap like this didn´t hit me so much!" The others nodded, Brittany sighs amused. " That´s true! Your ego isn´t stoppable! Alvie still is Alvie" She linked her arm with his. " But my Alvie!" Both giggled, then they walked off with their siblings to the parking lodge, where Dave and Miss Miller were waiting.
