Chapter 1 : The New Neighbour

[ Girls by The 1975]

Dear Diary,

It's Bonnie here again sorry I haven't been updating you as usual. It has been almost a year since the girls and I moved to London to chase our dreams...

Hayley sped pass Bonnie who was sitting by the window "There's a dude moving into the fancy apartment next door." Caroline gasped "The one with the mini bar and balcony?" Hayley nodded "Let's go and freak him out"

Bonnie laughed lightly and rolled her eyes, she looked out the window and saw the tall dirty-blonde man dressed in black holding a painting entering the building. Bonnie turned her attention back to her diary -

Even though life is filled with its ups and downs, Caroline and Hayley are still here making life alittle better, I don't know what I would do without them they are more than just my bestfriend but they are my family..my crazy family. Longing for an adventure this Summer after months of being busy, cold and bored.

Until next time with love.

Caroline and Hayley lean against their doorway watching the new neighbour bringing his boxes one by one up the stairs and onto the aisle.

"People died in that apartment, it's haunting" Caroline said folding her arms.

"Yeah and we're witches you don't want to live next to us" Hayley said sucking a lollipop. He laughed "Then this apartment is perfect for me, I'm a fan of the occult and the paranormal. I feel alot safer living next to witches...as for the ghosts ..it's a major turn on"

He placed his boxes and paintings inside the apartment, the girls looked at each other and smiled.

"Who did you vote for?" Hayley asked watching him move his stuff from the aisle to his apartment.

"I don't vote they are all the same..the Labour Party is just the new Tories don't trust it ladies" he said. Caroline looked at Hayely and shrugged "I'm Hayley and this is Caroline." The bubbly blonde gave him a small wave.

"Niklaus...my friends call me Klaus. Nice to meet you ladies" he said. Hayley yelled for Bonnie to come and meet the new neighbour "3 witches? Just my luck" Klaus joked. The girls giggled. Bonnie pulled the door opened and stood next to Caroline, she stared at him and he stared back. Hayley cleared her throat breaking the tension " This is our other roomie Bonnie, this is our new neighbour Klaus"

"Hi.." Bonnie said smiling. Klaus smiled back.

"Nothing but thieves..that's one of my favourite bands..they are so underrated" Bonnie said pointing to his shirt.

"They are amazing live, Conors' vocals are to die for. I saw them 2 Summers ago and it was incredible" Klaus said. Caroline cleared her throat and looked at her watch "Welp we'll be late for work and we will leave you to enjoy your haunted apartment." Klaus laughed "Yeah I should rest...super tired but I'll see you ladies around"

Hayley closed the door and smiled with the girls "He's kinda hot, don't you think Bonnie?"

Bonnie rolled her eyes and marched to her room "Don't start again." Hayley followed her and stood by her room folding her arms "When was the last time you got a good dick down?" Bonnie threw her pillow at Hayley "What I need is to get to this job before my boss kills me"

The next morning Caroline left for her 5am shift while Hayley was busy on her sewing machine making a blazer and trousers for one of her clients, Bonnie was incharge of dinner so she decided to go to the market and grab a few ingredients. As she was walking out of the apartment building she heard someone asking to hold the door and there he was; Klaus Mikaelson bolting through the door with a drawing tube and a shoulder-bag "Thanks." Bonnie smiled and walked infront of him, she could feel him looking at her. She glanced over her shoulder noticed he was following her "Are you following me?" she asked abruptly stopping. He chuckled "I'm going to the train station..I'm guessing that's where you're going too." Bonnie felt silly, she watched way too much Lifetime movies about the new guy turning out to be the psycho killer. She nodded and smiled at him.

"Mind if I walk with you then?" he asked.

"Sure." The two walked side by side in silence, the finally got to the station and onto the crowded train. They stood facing each other in an uncomfortable position, Bonnie avoided eye contact with him even though she could feel him staring at her. She gulped and keep staring at the floor "So what's your story Klaus?" she said glancing at him.

"I grow up in Hampstead, I went to Uni in a place called Bath, my step-father runs an Oil and Gas business my mother is an interior design and I have an older brother and younger spoiled sister" He said. Bonnie raised her eyebrow "What is a rich white boy like you doing in Brent and why did you choose to live in Harlesden?" Klaus laughed and Bonnie thought his dimples were the cutest thing ever, he had soft deep-blue eyes and tempting lips "Brent is the borough of all cultures and I chose to live in Harlesden because it's alive; filled with art, music and great food. It is not as pretty as you think on the otherside."

"Artist?" Bonnie asked looking at his tube.

"Uh yeah on the side until I can have my own gallery but I'm actually an artictect and I have this new project in Camden"

Bonnie smiled "It's my off day and I'm going to the Camden market to get a few stuff for my creole and cajun dishes tonight. My turn to cook." They got off at the stop and away from the bustling crowd.

"What's your story? What is an American girl like you doing in England?" he asked catching up with her. Bonnie smiled and tucked a strand of her curl behind her ear "My bestfriend Hayley got a scholarship to attend fashion school in the city and Caroline and I just thought we would join her. I needed a change from New Orleans. Hayley makes clothes for people on the side, Caroline is a nurse and I work as an assistant at BBC Radio for a cruella de villa boss" Bonnie explained. Klaus chuckled.

"I really want to be a music journalist, I want my own column reviewing my favourite musicians and bands. Maybe even interview them"

"Let's hope we both get what we want" he smiled. Bonnie kept walking before she turn the corner to the market, she looked back at him "Why don't you come over for dinner? As a welome to the neighbourhood treat." He nodded and smiled before they parted way.

Later that evening Hayely was stuffing her mouth with Gumbo and beignets at the same time with her left foot on the edge of the chair "So you choose to be working class when you could've live with your parents in Hampstead and ask them to buy you a building for your gallery"

"My family is complicated and I rather be independent ..far away from them. They aren't really fond of my choices. My brother did ask me to live in Fulham with him but it is boring" Klaus explained trying Bonnie's gumbo. Bonnie placed a dish of Jambalaya in the middle of the table "Slow down..you're gonna choke and those beignets were for desert"

"This is lovely, Thanks Bonnie" he smiled.

"I think it's great that you're independent, parents can be overbearing and annoying" Caroline said taking out some Jambalaya on her plate.

"Klaus you're a guy right? what do you think about girls who date guys they never met?" Hayley asked. Caroline rolled her eyes "Stefan Salvatore isn't a catfish..."

"Name sounds catfishy to me" Klaus teased. Hayley and Bonnie laughed "Bonnie and I said if Stefan Salvatore is real we will take Caroline Forbes to the best Gordon Ramsey restaurant in the city"

[ Midnight by Coldplay]

After dinner Bonnie took a shower and sat by the window brushing her hair looking at the couple in the building across the street slow dancing and giggling. Her diary was staring at her.

"Hey I like Klaus he's good peeps..he couldn't stop looking at you" Hayley said leaning on the door.

"He looked at you and Caroline too. Maybe he wants a foursome" Bonnie joked.

"Fuck yeah I'm down for that" Hayley said. Bonnie rolled her eyes and laughed. Bonnie bite her bottom lip and picked up her pen and diary after Hayley left.

Dear Diary,

It's Bonnie here again and it is the end of another day. Maybe this summer will be alot more interesting than i thought. There is new guy in our building, he moved into the cute apartment across from us. For now we'll call him Blue-eyed Hottie I dont want to jinx it by telling you his name. He is so hot, artistic, the most adorable i've seen in a long..everytime he glanced at me my heart jumps and I'm not doing this again. I'm not going to fall for another guy who doesn't want to take things slow so for now I'll put my thoughts about Blue-eyed Hottie behind and maybe be friends first. If the universe wants us to be we'll be.

Until next time with love.
