The Dragonets of Fluff: Ch. 5 Playing with Fire

Author's Note: Aye this hit about 600 views on fanfiction and AoOO! Let's go! Thank you again for all the reviews and kudos. It means a lot to see what my audience prefers. I think I'm like Peril or Qibli in the sense that I'm constantly wondering what would make others happy. Sorry, Shirzadym I got to let you down and not write a Qinterwatcher fic just yet. I am supportive of his "Do you Wanna Have Dragonets, Winter?" fic. Go check that out and you can find it under the tag "Turtle is a secret pervert," on AoOO (which I find hilarious since I could see it happening and I like the idea of him secretly shipping dragon couples). This next one I've been planning for a while and Cleril is my absolute OTP! If you would like to skip to the lemon part, it's a little bit after the two week time skip.

It was a long flight for Peril and Queen Ruby. The two and several squads of royal guards accompanied them to a Mud kingdom submit. There had been a border dispute between a village of SkyWings and MudWings and to resolve the issue Queen Ruby and Queen Moorhen had agreed on meeting in the city. Peril didn't know why she was invited to this particular meeting but didn't mind lending assistance to the new SkyWing Queen.

After the whole debacle of the second coming of Darkstalker and each nation settling back down to its respectively 'normal' state, Peril found herself being seen more like a hero. The Queen had specifically seen to that in her efforts of compensating and restarting their relationship on a higher note. She knew a few scrolls were being written on her part of stabilizing the kingdom and saving everyone from the war Darkstalker was going to cause. Although she never took up Queen ruby's offer in living in the SkyWing Palace, she did however visit once in a while.

Whenever she visited, she got to be Prince Cliff's personal bodyguard. The young singer was very fond of his new friend and was surprisingly mature for his age. Peril couldn't be prouder on how he looked up to her like an older sister and he made sure to show her off to all his friends. If any threats had befallen the Prince or her Queen, she knew she wouldn't hesitate to remind the enemies of the kingdom of her power. She questioned if this protective nature had come from her loyalty to the throne or her curiosity of wanting to be a mother. Either way, she was going to make sure her new, little ball of joy stay sheltered under her shield of fire as long as she could.

As for her terms with Queen Ruby, the two were enjoying their new lives free from ex-Queen Scarlet. Peril had been designated the job of being the overseer of the new SkyWings enrolled at Jade Mountain as well as being a student of the Jade Winglet. When on break from school and not stalking around Clay, she tried being more independent and goes to visit the SkyWing Kingdom to either help advise or assist in other duties with the Queen. She assumed that's why Ruby had asked her to come along with the negotiations, if not as well as an enforcer for the peace.

The city of Coal despite its name was stunning for being found a little after the Scorching near the Diamond Spray River. Being so developed in the mountains left it in an advantageous position should the two kingdoms ever clash. Technically, it lied within the borders of the Mud Kingdom, but over time and changing of alliances SkyWings had moved into the city.

But to Peril, the most impressive part was the recently installed marble diplomatic center harvested straight from the quarries nearby. Another testament to dragons working together. The local SkyWings and MudWings, who were on friendly turns ever since the War of SandWing Succession, had banded together to finish it. Originally built as a staging point against the Seawings, the fortified city was turned into a laxer mining operation that could benefit both kingdoms.

The group of SkyWings landed in front of the structure greeted by one of Moorhen's sisters and a group of MudWing guards. With the afternoon sun illuminating the hallways, they made their way to the conference room.

As soon as the two intimidating, oak doors swung open, she recognized the mahogany scales from anywhere. She looked at Ruby with a suspicious gaze and asked, "Did you know Clay was going to be here?"

Ruby now looking over the conference room caught the burly MudWing as well sitting at a large roundtable in the center next to Queen Moorhen's family. "I had told Queen Moorhen that I had invited you as a friend and just in case to keep the peace. But I had no idea she was going to drag Clay from teaching his medical classes. I thought she would bring other guards with his ability to counter your firescales for balance in these talks, but not Clay."

Peril couldn't help feeling giddy seeing him again. Even though she could see him all the time at the end of school, it was his class that made her day, the only class to her that really mattered, the only dragon's opinions really mattered…

Clay was too busy tearing into a piece of boar to notice guests had arrived. Peril hesitated to try to think of what he would say, but Ruby cleared her throat and nodded towards Clay. Peril just looked at Ruby quizzically before understanding. Well, if she's going to pull my leg about it, I guess that's a good enough excuse, besides you're here for the talks too right?

With shaky legs she approached from behind him, Peril tapped him on the shoulder and she hoped the gleam in his smile was genuine. "Hey, Peril. Pig?" he gestured to his unfinished pork butt. "I'm good for now," she hugged him a quick one before the rest of the SkyWings took their seats. Needless to say, she would get to sit by Clay the entirety of the meeting.

"Did Queen Moorhen ask you to come?" Peril whispered in Clay's ear.

"Yeah she did, but I thought it wasn't a big deal. Marsh and I were coming here to go visit Reed and Pheasant anyways, catch up, and see if they heard anything from Sora and Umber."

Several hours passed and arguments had erupted, but it was luckily extinguished by Clay's and Peril's teamwork. As the meeting was drawing to a close, both sides were relenting on splitting hairs.

Clay interjected before the two Queens could bicker any longer, "If I can say something your majesties, I think it would be better if the SkyWings stayed in Coal. They could share the space and they have been working well together just looking at this place."

Peril added, "Plus, the SkyWings could lend a hand in making hot mud baths in the Winter and say maybe the MudWings could help supply food for them."

The Queens seemed to give in and Ruby spoke up first, "That does seem reasonable enough for both parties, I guess that could work so long as both sides keep pulling their weight." Queen Moorhen nodded, "Well then, I guess that settles it for now. You are all welcome to stay the night, but I don't know if we have a singular room for you." She pointed to Peril and before any angsty tension between the two parties could spark up Clay did.

"You could stay with me if you would like." Instantly Peril responded, "YES! I Mean yeah sure whatever." The parties dismissed each other for the night and Peril was off on a dream on the way back to Clay's.

The rather toned MudWing felt rather more alluring than usual or all the time spent away from him must have been adding up. I mean he could pin me right here and no one would be the wiser. Well, if a couple of guards came walking by who were they to deny the Savior of the SkyWing Kingdom and one of the Dragonets of Destiny.

She let out a quiet sigh to herself. Think Peril, have some class and his quarters are probably way more private enough to make me squeal to my heart's content. Clay stopped at a door and Peril almost ran into him lost in her heated thoughts.

"We're here, mind my siblings please, they're not as fireproof as I am." Peril mentally face-palmed. Why should she have assumed her sweet, innocent Clay be luring her to a night of rhapsody? Aw great, this is just great! Meeting possible in-laws all hot and bothered! Her chest filled with anxiety about the what-ifs or how they might remember her from the Arena.

Before she could tug Clay's claws away from opening the door, the moonlight contrast blinded her before her eyes adjusted. "huh I guess Reed, Pheasant, and Marsh are out somewhere." Peril's anxiety began to calm down and was replaced with pure curiosity since she had never seen a MudWing's guest quarters before.

The room shared a bare semblance towards that of the luxurious SkyWing kingdoms. Where most of the jewels sprayed across the walls, the Mud Kingdom's had a few alligator pelts and what she guessed were spears and armor that his siblings owned strewn about the room. The one similarity she noticed was the dragon-sized stone slabs where most dragons slept. At least she didn't have to worry about burning their beds.

Clay walked through the room and over by the balcony. Turning back with his sincerest look and nodded Peril over. "Sometimes when I visit Reed them, I like to look out over here it reminds me of when I first met you."

"Trapped in a deadly arena with the undefeated, continent-feared champion throwing hot mud and burnt prey at you," Peril looked up at him with her innocent blue eyes. Clay smiled warmly towards her, "No, it reminds me of why we got put through this mess in the first place; Why we spent all that time under a mountain; why we started the school; why our friends ended up getting hurt…"

Peril watched over him concerned, her usually put-together companion's armor faltering. He noticed Peril worrying and tried to mask the stress. "I'm sorry Peril, it's just been school has been beating the crap out of me lately. When I walk down the halls I wonder if it's just been one big mistake. I look at Starflight's burns and wonder if I had just listened to Kestrel and waited to protect the others they would be fine. Not noticing the signs of Sora being so distraught of seeing Icicle at school. Not being there for Umber and letting him run away.."

Peril gently shushed his lips with her claws and pulled him into a hug. "Shhh..Shh.. look you couldn't have foreseen any of that or read their minds your no Nightwing. Besides without you getting captured, we would have never met. You don't think freeing me was a mistake, right?"

Clay wiped the tears that were starting to form from his eyes, "Peril, I never regretted meeting you in the arena, and besides I knew you would have left Scarlet whether I came along or not."

Peril felt a stab of guilt, "I only left because of you, if you never came along I would have stayed murdering and knowing only her fake love."

An awkward silence appeared between the two thinking of an alternate reality. "I…I" Peril tried to bring herself to ask him The Question, but she found her nerves for the first time holding her back. "Whataboutus?"

"What was that?" Clay looked up.

Peril took a deep breath and shifted how she was sitting. "I was just… wondering about us?" Peril remembered Qibli saying that he likes her too, but didn't know what to do about it yet.

Maybe he finally made up his mind or maybe I have to make the first move? I probably should have asked Turtle for MudWing courting customs.

A sudden touch to her tail snapped Peril out of her thoughts. Clay looked back to his normal self, with his lovable grin plastered on his face. He coiled his tail around hers, "well, I thought we already were a thing."

Peril couldn't help, but do somersaults in her head. Her heart felt like it was lighted by her own firescales. She curled her head into his broad chest just enjoying this moment. Nothing in the world could take her away from this moment, moons even if Darkstalker reappeared out of thin air she could care less.

Her eyes shut and her thoughts drifted to all the things they could now do by officially being together. Being a couple that entailed, the perfectly normal thing that she's been waiting on ever since she made up her mind about Clay. She wanted some MudWing dick, however, she could get it and wherever she could take it.

She opened her eyes and gave the best attempt at a sultry look on her face. Clay had his own eyes closed and was gently holding Peril to him. A swift shift in balance and Peril let momentum tumble them back into the room.

"What was that for?" Clay furrowing his brow at Peril from underneath him. "Well," she slowly got up from him and shut the balcony door, "You don't know how long I've been waiting for you to say that and now you can ride me till the sun comes up!"

Peril was leaning against the wall, her legs spread tail sprung up, presenting herself to Clay. Clay shifted uncomfortably, "Well… uh…don't get me wrong I would love to do you… I mean do this, but aren't we moving a little fast."

Clay felt overwhelmed with guilt at seeing Peril's face looking less overjoyed and filled with doubt. It felt like every step they took together; they took two steps back. "I'm sorry Peril; It's just that I'm a little scared of this intimacy part."

Peril hadn't quite the forethought about that and she could sympathetically see where Clay was coming from. Even though she had no experience dating anyone, one touch of her scales could castrate him and definitely kill the mood.

She bounced off the wall and sat next to him stewing on her feelings. Clay put her wing around her not knowing what else he should say to her. "Don't worry we'll figure something out…how about we just sleep on it."

Peril just huffed a sigh of defeat and laid her head down. Clay cuddled up next to her being sure to tuck his hind leg over his crotch making sure he wouldn't get burnt snuggling with her. The rest of the night would end up being more than uneventful for Peril.

As she felt Clay's chest softly rise and fall, she couldn't fall asleep with her mind stuck on how to get past this leap in their relationship. At first, she thought maybe mud could somehow prevent him from burning. Nah that was dumb it would just harden and we'll be back to square one. Underwater? Possibly, but who's to say she wouldn't end up drowning…. WHY?! Couldn't she finally get her magical happy ending… magical… MAGIC!... magic?

Maybe that was the key, but as much as she wanted to just 'pouf' away her problems. One, she needed an animus she could trust. Two, she needed to come up with a way of having the animus make this super totally not awkward spell for her. And only one particular green, animus Seawing came to mind, Turtle!

-Time Skip: 2 Weeks-

A couple of weeks had passed since Clay and Peril were sent as liaisons to the Mud Kingdom. During that time they both had flown back to Jade Mountain and resumed their usual activities. School sessions were starting up again and they both had to get ready for the new school year.

But since Peril had more free time than Clay, she didn't mind waiting in his quarters to finish up.

Those hours were usually filled with just quietly thinking to herself or getting caught daydreaming about Clay too much. Her mind though always looped back to brainstorming how would she explain her continent-shattering idea to Clay.

She had gone through with the idea and after a brief, but no less awkward conversation with Turtle he enchanted an osmium earring for her. In exchange for a few tips with asking out a certain Rainwing (not like she was a dating expert) and forging for some courting gifts, she got a pair of earrings to control her firescales at will and to be able to take them on or off when she said an incantation.

She was still worried about how he would react, but her building frustration was starting to triumph. Screw it! She walked over and sat next to Clay's desk. "Soo uh what you working on?"

Clay scratched the back of his head, "Well, I've been trying to grade your winglet's last quarter Dragon anatomy tests, but I'm having trouble reading Kinkajou's." He held up what looked like her scroll and in the margins, she had drawn hibiscuses and the rainforest. Admittedly, the blanks weren't filled in, but she had to admit her drawing was getting better.

She stifled a chuckle and went back to her objective, "Oh, let me see it."

She intentionally slid her claws across his before taking the sheet. "Peril, wai…t? Are…Are you touching a scroll? How?"

"Well, I asked Turtle for a favor… and he gave me these enchanted earrings to control my firescales and before you say anything. We checked the time reader thingy and made sure his soul didn't turn evil and… I don't know, what do you think?" Peril shifted nervously playing with her talons.

Clay slowly reached out to touch her forearm and to his surprise, it was just like a normal dragon. "Wow! It feels like it's … like it's…"

Peril finished what he was thinking, "like a normal dragon's."

Clay pulled her in closer, "It feels different, just I have probably a hundred questions on how this works"

"Here why don't I give you a demonstration instead. Y'know I still haven't taken my dragon anatomy exam, so why don't we get started." Peril tilted her head to meet his face. "Well, we start at the top. We have your head, horns, ears, eyes, nose, and…" Their lips met Peril getting her first taste of Clay. A bit of an aftertaste of the prey he had caught, but satisfying. They slowly broke apart, her heart felt like it was pounding out of her chest.

"…mouth" she slowly drifted her claws down his tone shoulders admiring every last muscle. Using her new control over her powers, she heated her hands to be warm enough like the warmth of sitting next to an open fire or the rays of sunlight on a bright summer's day. Clay relaxed into the massages, feeling the release of tension in his shoulders.

"We have your neck, shoulders, four feet, and …" She purposefully skipped past his peaking member and moved past him to his back. "wings and tail. I think I'm forgetting something.." She pressed her body against his back. "dorsal scales, no I think I covered that." She slid her hand across his hip, turning down her heat, and circled his slit.

"Here we go the genital slit and for my very own MudWing, a juicy-looking cock." She circled his tip and rubbed his tip swiping off beads of pre-cum. From the back the SkyWing slowly jerked him to attention, coaxing his girthy member out with gentle, warm pumps.

"How's that feel?" Peril whispered into his ear, while he pulsated in her hand.

A light, unnoticeable red hid under his Mahogany scales tinting Clay's cheeks. He said through short little pants, "~ah… that feels nice… could you tighten your grip a bit?"

Peril much to oblige her boyfriend kept jacking him off, as well as tightening her grip on him. Her warmth and friction were too much for Clay to handle already and he had to press Peril away.

"What? Too tight, I can fix it." Peril worriedly asked Clay. Clay just nuzzled the side of her cutting off her uncertainty. "That felt great Peril.. well actually too great. I feel close and I wanted to try a taste of SkyWing."

Although Peril didn't have any experience in bed, she'd seen enough encounters of SkyWings and other winglets fornicating and knew the gist. The encounters left her excited, to say the least, but she didn't have anyone to relieve her till she met Clay.

The copper-orange SkyWing moved in front of Clay leaning against the desk and spread her hind legs and lifted her tail. "You can have me here; you can have me anywhere."

Clay glanced over at the presenting SkyWing and was drooling over the moist, puffy slit waiting for him underneath the ness's tail. Hesitantly, he came mere inches of her and felt her sides with his claws. Not unpleasantly hot like being sprayed by another dragon's fire, more like a nice heated mud bath.

Peril gave a little shiver and then nudged her rump gently towards him. Clay took it as approval and tested the waters first. Giving a quick, tentative lick, he felt a bit of moisture on his tongue, but otherwise safe and not burnt. He gave a few more darting slurps, but after dove right in gently lapping at her vent. He didn't waste time exploring her cavern, searching for her small, little gemstone.

After some searching Clay had made some headway when Peril kept shifting up and down his tongue. Psssh who needed Dune's Anatomy lessons, all that practice with Tsunami, Glory, and Sunny paid off (though he knew not to tell his new girlfriend about those adventures).

Clay noticed Peril was emitting some odd squeaks of what he had assumed of pleasure as he kept flicking his tongue. He grabbed her hips and tried to get his tongue in further. Peril's legs felt mushy from the attention Clay was giving her and rested her head underneath her front paws and table.

Her weight had shifted more onto Clay's mouth enjoying his moist tongue exploring her walls for the first time. Clay's nose pressed into her snatch and when he caught his breath. Peril had contracted against Clay's tongue spraying his face and snout with her juices.

Clay took a couple of seconds to realize what had happened but began to pull his tongue out cleaning her entrance. He licked her clean and savored lapping the sour fluid off his nose, before checking on her. "How was that?"

The SkyWing slowly lifted herself off the desk but didn't notice that her legs had fallen asleep. Peril felt like she had flown around all of Pyrrhia and back only to end up exploding like a dragonflame cacti. With her shaky legs, she tripped on her tail and stumbles backward. Luckily, Clay catches her with his wing and helps her keep her balance.

"I'm good, I'm good." He lays her down gently on the floor.

"um, you up for some more?" Clay asked with his painful aching member desperate for attention.

Peril lazily rolled to her belly and got into a crouched stance leaving her rear pointed at Clay. He eagerly positioned himself over her ready to breed her, any question of doubt escaped his mind. Unable to hold back his lust, he took her with one lustful swoop penetrating her virgin snatch for the second time tonight.

The warmth surrounding him was unimaginable. Peril's walls clenching around him all while having this pleasurable, warm aura around it. He took a few seconds for Peril to accommodate his size and later started shifting a few inches back and forth.

Slowly his movements came deeper, plunging his cock as deep as it could go without knotting her, then pulling out just enough so that his tip stayed inside. Underneath a small bit of drool pooled by Peril's neck as she kept feeling Clay's knot press back and forth against her.

The pleasure was building up too much and he couldn't control his lust any longer. Peril noticed something in him must have snapped, as he pressed his full weight onto her. One of his talons pinned her face to the ground obstructing her view, as he wildly rocked into her.

For Peril, this was so foreign, so unnatural…. It felt so thrilling (~oof maybe she'd spent too much time with Scarlet). Being dominated by someone sent her senses into overdrive. Time felt as if it slowed and she could feel each movement between the two of them, the wet slaps accompanied by his low grunts, the escaping smell of sex and stone that her muzzle was pressed into.

After a few minutes of rutting, Clay leaned forward and bit the back of her neck. The bite broke a few scales and a mix of his drool and her blood started to stream down both sides of her neck. His thrusts were starting to get more sporadic, as his hot breath brushed by her.

Peril lay pinned to the floor as Clay dominated her. Roughly breeding her snatch, Clay's claws started to dig into her scales on her back. Each heavy thrust coming tantalizing close to his knot hilting her. "Oh!... Aww~" Bittersweet gasps escaped as she persistently tried her best to wiggle her rump further onto him.

His thick drakehood pulsed rapidly as the pleasure in his groin rose. A predatory growl was the only warning she got before she felt him thrust one quick jab knotting her. A quick "NNNFF" and hot MudWing splooge sprayed out of his member into her seeping all throughout her pussy. She could feel the extra warmth in her like she was finally complete, the heat encompassing her entire body. Clay wasn't done and continued thrusting however far he could go. His thick member and knot pressed firmly, but still shifting enough, against the SkyWing's walls. Milking out some more globs of his MudWing essence.

By the time his second load of seed unloaded into her, Clay was finally starting to snap out of his trance. His mind started to catch up on his actions, but Peril knew her drake well enough. As needy as she still was, she pressed her forehead against his and shushed him.

She knew Clay was a cinnamon roll and would never purposefully hurt her (even though she admittedly could've taken rougher treatment). Right now he just needed affirmation in order to help her finish, "I'm okay… you were splendid, but right now I just need a little bit more."

She turned her neck and presented it to him, "Now, do what you were doing before and bite a little harder." Clay's bashful side had returned, but Peril saw his hesitation and just gave him an approving nod. She thought that his lust had died down, but he still would do anything to please her. He kept his position rocking his hips into her and gently pressing down on her neck. The bite was not as hard as she expected, but nonetheless enticing enough. A small wave of pleasure washed over her as she closed her and finally had her climax.

Admittedly, it didn't feel as strong as they had built it when they were in the thick of it, but they had plenty of time to work pacing. With one last squeeze from Peril, she relaxed with the two of them stuck together.

Being stuck together provided them more than enough time to talk about their kinks and boundaries. Clay nonetheless apologized profusely and licked at the love wounds he had inflicted. Leading Peril to explain her idea of being ravished and dominated as such an alien yet alluring concept.

Several hours passed between discussions before Peril came up with a compromise. "Consider us even for the leg," Peril lightly thumped his scarred leg, while he kept licking her scales. His member's swelling went down and he pulled out a string of juices still connecting the two of them. A pungent odor of sweaty sex and the warmth the two shared permeated through the room. Peril leaned her head against Clay's burly form, "SOOO I think I passed, right?"

Clay just raised his eyebrow to the bushed SkyWing, as their tails intertwined. "The dragon anatomy exam…" Clay wrapped his wings around her and kissed her on the head, "Oh that, with flying colors."

Peril just heated her body a little to be their warm, dragon blanket for the night. "How about we wait on telling the others about me being able to touch paper as well?" Clay chuckled, "What afraid of Web's history essays?" Peril just nonchalantly waved her claw, "Nah, it's more like it would come in between these moments." Clay responded with droopy eyes, "Whatever my wings of fire likes." With those last words, the couple dozed off in each other's arms on pleasant dreams, and one problem "poufed" away with an unlimited number of alluring possibilities ahead.

Author's Note: I was thinking about this hilarious option where Queen Moorhen and Queen Ruby decide to marry off Peril and Clay to symbolize peace for the two tribes. Peril is inwardly all for it, but she says, "WOW! Queen Moorhen, I didn't know you were an animus?! Turning subjects into trophies, got some secret scroll of misogyny you're hiding." Yes, that is a reference to the infamous SAO abridged.

I knew after reading the first book I wanted a sap story about Clay and Peril. They fit together better than a ball and a glove, peanut butter and jelly, or hot Cheetos with chocolate milk(?). Anyways, I shot for a more in-depth background to their characters with Clay feeling guilty and Peril growing off of her adventures in the Second Arc to being more compassionate. I know a lot of you probably favor the shorter fics, so I apologize for making it so gosh darn long. I wanted to flush out their story and try to focus on the emotions/situation they would be going through with firescales.

Edit as of 1/3/22: I did not expect this to take like four and a half months to be released. Some new school stuff and job offers have been keeping me busy with limited time to work at midnight on these stories that I still love writing. But thank you to all that have taken interest to my writing and I am crossing my fingers that I don't take forever to post another story.
