The Coronation

Summary: All's well that ends well. While Zelda finally undergoes her coronation as the rightful Queen of Hyrule, everyone else comes to their own conclusions.

After explaining absolutely everything that happened to their fellow coworkers from Japan, everyone figured out the following:

Hyrule and Japan were permanently bonded to each other via the giant bridge caused by a bread reaction.

The Pantasia workers that were stuck in Hyrule had been gone for literally about three months, which forced them to catch up on everything they missed (which Kuroyanagi and Meister were especially not fans of).

Hyrule and Japan being automatically stuck together meant that there were opportunities for expansion and trade, which wasn't a bad thing in this case.

But first, there was a coronation to get to – Princess Zelda's coronation where she would transition from being Princess to Queen of Hyrule. And it came at good timing, considering the recent developments with Hyrule and all.

Yukino was alive after the whole incident with Ganon, everyone realized, but it also became apparent that she had no clue what happened during her time being possessed. Everyone decided to keep quiet about the whole incident with Ganon, pretend she had been in a coma for the past several months and only woke up just now. Best not to let her know that she was once fused with an evil demonic force, right?

Tonight was the night of the coronation, the ceremony coronating Zelda as Queen already completed hours earlier. Meister looked around the room, watching Kai and Monica dancing together in one corner, Kuroyanagi and several other of his coworkers gorging on the food along with Daruk and Yunobo, Riju speaking with Tsukino in one corner. Sidon had went to go speak with a couple other partygoers, so Meister was by himself at the moment, giving him time to think over everything so far.

Mipha would be undergoing her coronation as the next Queen of the Zora in a few months, Meister reminded himself. He and Sidon had gotten into a lot of trouble at first for breaking into Vah Ruta the way they did, but considering that it was for the sake of saving the world from Ganon at the time, they were pardoned. Heck, Mipha even managed to argue with the council of elders and at least make Sidon's previous exile null and void.

However, Sidon would not be a Prince anymore. With Hyrule being attached to Japan, that meant that they needed ambassadors and messengers to potentially speak with Japanese representatives if they wanted to get into trade and allyship. And considering that Sidon had the desire to travel the world now, he was appointed as the Zora Representative. What better representative could there be than the former Prince, after all?

"Droplet? Are you okay?"

"Sidon!" Meister looked up to see Sidon approach him. "I'm fine…just thinking."

The new Zora Representative tilted his head to the side. "Is it about that last conversation we had with Mipha about my new position and all?"

A light sigh left Meister at that. "Yes."

"Thought so." Sidon's smile turned sheepish. "To be honest, it's surprising that we were both allowed to return to Zora's Domain if we wish to, let alone me getting the position."

"To be fair, Mipha did a great job arguing for your sake." A chuckle left him as he vaguely recalled the soon-to-be Queen of the Zora calmly yet firmly and intimidatingly stating that Sidon should be out of exile along with him.

"that is true. I don't think I've ever seen the elders more frightened in their lives." Sidon shook his head quickly, before he took a deep breath. "I know this might be bad timing to bring it up, but remember when I we discussed potential marriage back on Vah Ruta?"

"Yes." Meister nodded once. "And, erm…I was actually wondering if there was any chance I could get your measurements."

"What?" Sidon blinked once, then twice. "What for?"

"Zora armor!" His face flushed warmly. "Isn't it tradition that the Zoras make armor or clothing for their loved ones? I just thought I could maybe try to honor the tradition. It's the least I can do, so…"

"You would do that?" Sidon's eyes widened. "Because I was thinking of actually making some for you, too."

"Oh."

Both of them stared at each other in silence, before Sidon broke into a chuckle.

"I am most pleased to hear this! We should both get started on each other's armor after these festivities. It would be wonderful!"

"Maybe if we time it right, we can get married sometime after Mipha's coronation." A chuckle left Meister at that.

Sidon smiled at him, and the whole world seemed to go still. "I would be delighted, droplet."

Shachioko wasn't sure what to do.

Yes, the world was safe.

Yes, they were reunited with their friends and coworkers in Japan.

But…Shachioko hadn't really talked to Urbosa since their "break-up" and now…

"You want to get back together," Kawachi asked, "But you haven't talked to her about getting back together!?"

"No." Shachioko admitted, looking him in the eyes. Kawachi vibisly groaned, shaking his head with disappointment.

"Why not!? It's obvious that you two really like each other and everything, so…why not?"

"When people break up, don't they usually break up for good!?" Shachioko emphasized, staring at him hard. "Wouldn't it be awkward?"

"People can get back together, Shachioko! And if you two still have feelings, you might as well do it. Now GO!"

Cue Kawachi pushing Shachioko across the floor towards Urbosa. Shachioko tried to push back, but man Kawachi was way stronger with his arms than he thought thanks to the training he made towards his Solar Gauntlets. So…he ended up standing beside Urbosa, who just finished her drink and gave her empty glass to a server to take away.

"Uh, hi."

Urbosa looked towards him. She looked beautiful, and strong, and damn, Shachioko wanted to fall in love with her all over again. Could he do that twice? "Hello. Is something the matter?"

"Uh…can we get back together? As a couple? Maybe not in secret this time?" Shachioko blurted out before he could stop himself. He was never an expert when it came to figuring out relationships like this. "I-I mean, if you're still interested, because I am, and since our lands are joined together, well…"

"I would like that, actually. I meant to bring it up to you earlier."

"Really?" His eyes widened as she smiled, before she nodded.

"Besides," A chuckle left her, "I think I'd like to explore Japan at some point. Riju and I discussed potentially reaching out for trade earlier…and it could also help boost tourism to an extent throughout the Gerudo desert, too."

"I'm not an expert on living in Japan, but I know a couple things." He offered her a smile. "I'd be happy to show you around Tokyo."

"I'd love that."

Kai and Monica were glad that the craziness of trying to get back home was, well, technically over.

"Kai?"

"Hm?"

Both of them tired of dancing earlier, retreating to a balcony looking out towards the stars. Monica looked back towards the ballroom; Kawachi and Azuma were chatting with each other, Teba, Saki and Tulin were speaking with Tsukino and Matsushiro, Link somehow got into a dance-off against Kanmuri, and Zelda was smiling, wearing her crown with ease and pride in her expression.

"I'm gonna miss being here." She confessed. "In Hyrule, that is. I feel like there's a lot more we could explore, especially with Ganon being gone."

"Hm." Kai paused, and she looked towards him to see him deeply in thought, brows furrowed, a slight frown on his face. "Perhaps during our paid vacation days, we can spend time exploring more of Hyrule."

"Really?" Monica's eyes widened. "You think it would work out?"

"Not all of it at once, but at least a region or two in depth." Her boyfriend answered. "And then we could also use the time to learn about other cooking techniques…"

"Of course you do." A chuckle left her at that. Why wasn't she surprised that Kai wanted to learn other cooking techniques, probably for the sake of his rivalry with Azuma? "But you better make sure that we get to spend some actual time together during our vacation. Not just on baking alone. Okay?"

He paused, but then he smiled. "Alright."

She couldn't stop herself from smiling as she pulled him into a hug, watching the night sky twinkle full of stars. Hyrule might be safe and she and Kai were free to head back home, but that didn't mean the end of their adventures in this land.

Author note:

Thank you so much for reading the "Trials Of The Wild" crossover series. It was so much fun writing and posting all of these fics in the series, and I am grateful for all of the love and support you gave via reading these fics, leaving kudos and comments, and so on.

The main story of this series is now complete with the posting of this fic. I am open to potentially writing some fics that take place after the events of the main story or even side stories that took place inbetween the main story fics, but only if the muse strikes me for it. However, I will mainly focus on other projects from hereon, so don't expect those side stories/post-main story fics to come too soon if they do.

I hope that you enjoy reading my future works, whether it be within this series or in another fandom entirely! Thank you so much for your support!
