Turmoil

The creature had been having a really wonderful time.

As long as she stayed here, with her toys, her friend, her music box… everything was perfect. The rest of the world could screw itself, she couldn't care less. She had always been an individual that tried to look for herself. At least, she tried, knowing that company always hurt.

Like that girl

That girl, with pretty long hair, tied in a braid. She never knew her reasons for being there that time, she was pretty sure she wasn't one of the few that were hiding to escape from The Nest. Still, she admired her intelligence, even being a child, she was strong and capable.

She wanted to be like that too.

But good things didn't last. She knew that. That girl seemed to befriend her, but then she closed the door in her face, knowing she'd be in great danger. She hit the door countless times, unable to even scream, but she never opened the door for her. And the only time she decided to help her, she died.

She wondered from time to time if it was her fault, or hers that she died…she wasn't sure, and she honestly didn't want to know. That kind of memories belonged in a dark cage in the dark corners of her mind, where even she couldn't reach them. It was better that way.

But

Her eyes moved to the small boy that was sitting near her treasure, the music box. She had been noticing the twitches and flinches he got once in a while, then the whispers and murmurs under his breath, almost like talking to himself. She wondered why he wasn't as happy as her. He had demonstrated her that he cares about her, so why? Why wasn't he happy?

Then again, she needed to think about herself only. After all, this place was for her. If Mono didn't like this room, it was his problem.

She still glanced once in a while that axe, then back at the boy. If he looked at it, she never had noticed. He never got close to it, he was just sitting, looking at the ground, talking to himself. The times he didn't do that was when he shared some quality time with her. His smile was small, but genuine, there was true affection in his eyes, but the pain behind that feeling always irked her.

"Six?"

She moved and stared at him. He moved his fingers in the ground, mimicking a drawing.

"Do you remember?"

She froze.

What?

He stopped moving his finger, then looked at her.

She always could read his body language no matter what. Hell, even with that paper mask, she was able to read his gestures, all the time. However, this time, without his mask, his eyes were unreadable. She knew she could snap his neck if she wanted, and still, it felt like she was the one in danger.

"Do you remember?" he repeated, his voice rising a little, but it didn't sound as a warning. Maybe he thought she didn't hear him.

She suppressed a growl, and avoided his gaze.

Those eyes

Those were the same eyes that belonged to that man… the man that caught her and made her shiver in horror…

The one man that loathed her.

And she knew that man… was that child.

"… You do." He confirmed, and she tensed. Why?

Why? Why could he read her so easily? It was supposed to be in backwards! Why?! She didn't feel safe. Not anymore, her heart was hurting and beating fast against her chest. Shakily, she grabbed her music box, holding it to her chest. He could break it.

He could break her.

"If you do, I want to ask you…"

She let out a breaking scream, the room vibrated against her voice, and she didn't want Mono here anymore. She wanted him to leave. Why did he have to ruin this moment? She was so happy…

He always ruined everything.

"Why did you do it?"

She wondered if he could see them: her tears. She didn't want to talk about this; she didn't want to think about it; she wanted him to just stop.

"Why did you drop me?"

No!

She lunched forward, letting her precious music box behind her, and she trapped the boy between her fingers. He screamed in surprise and in pain, he had hit the back of his head. She could feel it; his heart in her grasp, her fingers. She had always had it.

His heart always belonged to her.

Both of them knew that.

And of course, they knew she was going to crush him.

But the resigned expression in his eyes made her stop her movements.

He knew she was going to hurt him; she was going to break him all over again.

It wasn't shocking at all at this point.

Her deformed hands were shaking, she didn't want to look that expression in his face. His eyes, before inhumane and collected, now had a raw agony glint.

Do you hate me that much?

Why can't you forgive me?

I just wanted to save you

I care about you

So why?

Why did you hurt me?

Why did you do this?

Why?

Still knowing I was going to become him…

You still dropped me.

Those were words directed to her, unsaid. Suppressing a snarl, she curled herself against his small body. Six pressed her forehead against the ground, right beside his body. She listened to his breathing, shivering.

If those were his questions all this time, then it was clear.

He hated her.

He despised her.

He wished her dead.

Just like the man in the hat.

Because they were the same person.

He wouldn't understand

He'd never understand her reasons for doing this.

Yes, over the loops, she had been remembering some things. They were just some images there and there, and when she came back from her monster form, she'd remember everything, and commit the same actions, all over again. That's how it was supposed to be.

She let out a pathetic whimper and wept.

Mono stayed in the same position, without saying anything, and…

The music box… kept… winding.

Well, it was time I gave you guys Six's POV, so, why not...
