Prologue:

-

Years ago, a rich earth pony, by the name of Stinkin' Rich, led an exhibition to the Dragon Lands. Where upon arriving, they were attacked by a mother dragon, protecting her eggs, but to them, it was aggression that caused it. Out of fright, Stinkin' went to Celestia, and told her to build a wall for their kinds. While Celesta was not encouraged to do so, a similar event was going on at the Crystal Empire. So instead, she authorized the separate but equal act, a movement that keeps races and species separate on public lands without approval. Two years later, Stinkin' and his son, Filthy were off to set up a trading with the Dragon Lord, as seemingly an attempted treaty. Not much is known about what happened, primarily because it was supposed to be top secret. All that is known is that Stinkin' died, his son was alive, and a father dragon fled with his egg. Now Filthy takes his jack of all trades father's business, among side his wife and daughter, eventually becoming a governor. Although it was never confirmed, many believe that the father dragon lives with his son at a private family farm called, Sweet Apple Acres.

Story:

-

Lord Torch, was the largest dragon lord, by far. His job was to rule over the land of the dragons, and lived with his anger issued daughter, Ember. However, Torch was getting to the age, as the other big and strong dragon lords before, where he had past his lordship to some dragon else. Normally how the new dragon lord is crowned is in a dangerous event called the Gauntlet of Fire, where the dragons raced at their volcano, called Flamecano, and who found the staff called the Bloodstone Scepter, would have be seen not only with the staff, but with enough willingness, strength, and worthiness, the Ruby on the top of the staff will glow if touched, and they be coronated as the new lord. Unfortunately Torch forbade, his daughter from competing, and claimed he would tell her why after the opening ceremony. After the opening ceremony, he and Ember went to a cave to talk in private. In anger Ember shouted, "Serious, Dad! I'm big and strong! So why can't I compete!?" Torch sighed, the calmly said to his teenaged daughter, "Ember, to be big and strong means you have to be-"

Suddenly a voice interrupted Torch's lecture. " Presenting the new lord of the dragons, the richest pony in the earth pony side of Equestria, Governor Filthy Rich." Behind them was an announcer, and approaching behind was an empire grey earth pony, with a short brownish black mane, and a red bow tie. He also had eight body guards behind him. "Lord." Governor Rich said. "I have come to bargain." He showed Torch the Bloodstone Scepter, much to Ember's disappointment. "How did you get that?" Torch said. "Long story short, teamwork..." Governor Rich said. "Now then, you probably remembered what happened to my father, years ago, and that I was forced to never speak of it. No hard feelings, in fact a Governor of Equestria, I would like to make your people citizens, instead of pests. In fact, as the new dragon lord, I would like to give or forge this land as part of my district. All we need now is your approval. Can't write? That's all right. You can at least draw a line or anything for a signature."

A small silence came as Filthy Rich showed the bill. Torch then slowly moved his claw towards the quill, that one of the bodyguards was holding, but then turned it into a point at Filthy Rich. "You will never become the true lord of dragons, Rich." Torch said. "I figured you'd say that." Governor Rich said. He then cloped his hoof, and one of his other body guards gave him something.

A loud pop was heard as Ember watched in horror, as her father fell dead. Ember tried to fight back, but the bodyguards stopped and restrained her. They took her out of the cave, on a cliff, and brought her to the edge. Calling it the Grappling Shot, and claiming it was good tool and weapon, he put on her forearm, and "POM!" It almost missed her head, but cracked her horn, and knocked her out. She fell into the stream, as the shot retracted and landed on the rocks. Only so many dragons heard the pop sound, and noticed Ember falling.

-

Spike, a seven year old dragon child prodigy, was on his way to the house, of Sweet Apple Acres. Sweet Apple Acres was owned by the Apple Family. Throughout the farm, there were carrots, corn, non-sentient chickens, non-sentient cows, grape vines, apple trees, and what they're best known for, Zap Apple trees. Yet despite the well sales, and private property, they were poor, and the living conditions were in low class. All because Sweet Apple Acres was acquired by Stinkin' Rich and company, to increase sales. Since Filthy received it all, upon death, Sweet Apple Acres was private, yet not private.

Anyway, Spike entered the house, where inside, a group of foals, he intended to tutor, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Pipsqueak (the only colt,) and Apple Bloom. "Good day, every pony." Spike said. "Are you ready for today's tutoring session, on language arts?" At first, the foals smiled, as if they were ready, but after they inhaled, they all said, with neutral faces, "You don't want me to answer that." Was expecting them to shout, Cutiemark Crusaders language arts. He even pointed out a few examples, such as the time they said, "Cutiemark Crusaders, Gardeners!" Following this, he pointed out the time they said, "Cutiemark Crusaders, Plumbers!" Lastly, he pointed out, "Cutiemark Crusaders, Campfire Builders!" The Last One caused one sixth of the forest to burn down. "Well, those activities were all in good fun, to find our Cutiemarks." Apple Bloom said. "We already know we weren't meant to get language arts Cutiemarks." Scootaloo said. "Still, can you help us with our homework?" Pipsqueak said. The fillies gave him a lot, as if it was the wrong thing to say. "What? It needs to be done." Pipsqueak said. "We were given a four day weekend." Apple Bloom said. "Not me." Said both Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell. "That's because Pipsqueak and I go to the same school, and have the same teacher." Apple Bloom said. "As someone who is biracial, have to wonder why we have segregation laws." Scootaloo said. "Bathrooms, fashions, entertainment, states, and even schools."

By this point, Spike was beginning to feel impatient. "This was supposed to be an hour of verbs, nouns, and adjectives, and there's a lot of irrelevance going on." Spike said. "Irrelevance?!" The fouls replied, unknowingly. Before Spike could tell them what it means, the door burst open, as Granny Smith had a brief announcement. "Spike! Apple Bloom!" She said. "You're not going to believe what your fathers have found, a blue dragon."

-

Meanwhile, Apple Bloom's father and Spike's father were still checking the dragon, which was Ember, still deciding whether to revive her or not. Why not? Because Apple Bloom's father, Bright Mac, was worried the dragon would attack, but Spike's father, Smokey, kept telling him they don't know that for sure. After a little while, it was decided. They would check if she's alive. Bright Mac shook her a bit and said, "Are you awake?" No response. Of course he did shake gently, too gently. Smokey pointed this out, along with the fact he said it too softly. "Let me try." He said. Smokey then roughly shook her, making her hit the ground repeatedly, while shouting, "Are you awake!? Are you awake!?" This time, she woke, and was naturally confused. She just got up, and looked round, still processing what's going on. Bright Mac didn't know what to think of this. "Give her time." Smokey said. As soon as she became all there, her first instinct was to grab Bright Mac. "Where's Filthy Rich? Where's your boss?" She said in anger. "Hey, take it easy, miss." Smokey said, causing Ember to turn around. "I don't what Filth- " "This is a pony!" Ember interrupted. "By nature, they mistreat, and-and their leader, Gov... Gov... " Ember realized she wasn't in the Dragon Lands, anymore. At first, she thought she was kidnapped, but when Smokey explained that he and Bright Mac found her floating in the river, and got her out of it, she drop Bright Mac, and looked around. She saw Spike and the foals, and quickly ran up to Spike, and asked, "Kid, how long have been here?" Spike, understandably confused, replied, "Um, my whole life."

Ember gasped, and while the others foals were freaked out, Pipsqueak innocently asked, "Is that your mommy, Spike?" Spike didn't answer the question, but Ember did. "No! I... " She said, before babbling. Once she was done babbling, and grabbed Smokey, and said, "You better not be betraying us. My father did not approve expanded territory, to coexist with a bunch of savages." Bright Mac tried to interfere, by claiming the dragons were savages, not the ponies, but it obviously didn't help. "You're not helping." Smokey said to Bright Mac, before turning back to Ember. "Not all ponies are evil. In fact, Filthy Rich has been using these ponies, like he used dragons. By the way, what did Filthy Rich do to you, crack your horn." Ember quickly replied with, "He killed my father, and stole his throne, right when he was on the verge of retiring as Dragon Lord." Smokey finally understood her anger. "Well, that is evil." He said. "Wait. You're the Dragon Lord's daughter, and was his name Torch?" Ember confirmed. "... and is your name Ember?" Ember confirmed again. Before Smokey could say anything else, Ember was suddenly hit on the head. Apparently, Granny Smith came back from telling Apple Bloom's brother, Big Macintosh, and her mother, Buttercup. Everyone stared at her, with shock, because she was the one who knocked out Ember, with a rocking chair.

-

Back in the Dragon Lands, Governor Rich was getting ready to make a public speaking, to announce becoming the Dragon Lord. Among the room resting in, before the announcement, he was alone, only accompanied by his daughter, Diamond Tiara. "Remember, Diamond." He said to her. "These low life reptiles have a limited knowledge on what happened. As far as they're concerned their lord was killed by his own daughter, before she took her own life." Diamond understood it all, except for one thing. "Why would anyone ever kill themselves?" She asked. "To avoid getting caught, because they were miserable, because they were sick, or because something was wrong with them." He replied. "You see. When it comes to high class, low class is needed to make our lives better, and sacrifices have to be made to make our lives better." Diamond decided to make a comparison, to make sure she understood properly. "You mean such as me being the popular foal, in class, because of my way to get what I want, and manipulate others into hating others, because they're losers." She said. "Yes, and how you dress and talk." He replied.

Governor Rich began to sing a song about social class and capitalism. In song, he explained that the living conditions were made purposely poor, from education to homes, to maintain a population to do the dirty jobs, such as cleaning the sewers, or plumbing. He even pointed out, "It's a lower class dependence, In our life of attendance. Being what they want is a joke. It's about time they awoke."

Almost at the moment he was done singing, a dragon knocked on the door, and opened up. "Filthy Rich, it's time. You're up." He said. Governor Rich turned to his daughter, and told her, he had to go, and to stay where she was.

When he got to the cliff, where his voice was able to echo the most, hundreds, maybe thousands, of dragons stood in front, as an audience. Around the area, were bowl like hills, which made it easier to hear, as he shouted. "Citizens of the Dragon Lands, I regret to inform you the death of Lord Torch, but I am pleased to inform that before he was killed by his own daughter, I was able to retrieve Bloodstone Scepter, and gained both his and its blessing." He paused for a second, to look at his speech card, reading the word "coronation", before turning his attention back to the crowd, and continuing. "As the soon to be the new Dragon Lord, I will do everything in my power, to expand the country, by making this an official state of Equestria, which will not only give you more rights, and more freedom, but to asunder you more protection, and to make sure you have larger racial borders, in order for you to thrive, long after I am gone. As for Ember, daughter of Torch, witnesses say that that she shot herself, with the same grappling device she used to kill her father, and fell into the river. However, as a precaution, my association will search to recover her, dead or alive, up until my coronation, at the second week, of next month."

The audience cheered, unknowing that only half of what he said was true. He returned to the room, where his daughter waited. "Daddy, do they know how the racial borders work?" She asked. "Evidently not." Governor Rich replied. "They don't even know that they would technically only be a territory, and that it takes more than just false promises to create a state. I never even pointed out what happened to my father, or the slave movement, I plan to in-act, after coronation."

-

Ember woke up, and saw that she was not only inside a house, but she was apparently tied up. She tried to break free, but the ropes were too thick and stretchable. Although that didn't stop her from trying to escape. She struggled so much, she hit the wall and floor a couple times. Soon enough, a door opened, and in came Granny Smith. Ember gave her a look, of disgust, as she had a feeling, she had something to do with this. "Yes. I hit you with a rocking chair, and told my son, Bright Mac, and three grandkids, Big Mac, Applejack, and Apple Bloom, to tie you up, in Kevlar rope." She said. "Who do you think you are?" Ember asked, with disgust. "Folks call me Granny Smith." She replied. "I'm the owner of the this farm. Though regrettably, it was forced into getting acquired, by Filthy Rich, a few years back, but I still have control. Now you listen here. Normally I would run you right out of this here farm, but ever since my daughter in law came into the picture, I have learned a thing called, expectations vs reality. That's how I aloud two of your kind to stay."

Ember scoffed upon hearing this. "That's the last thing I want to do." She said. "Why would any-" "Another thing." Granny interrupted. "Stop picking on us. We hate Governor Rich as much you." Ember tried to grab Granny, with her feet, but was only able to hold her awkwardly, as she said, "Try saying that to my face, pony." Granny sighed, and called for her grandkids, and Smokey.

They all entered, accept Applejack, who had been arrested earlier that day, and made Ember release her grapple hold. Granny walked up to her, and said, "Here's the deal. Dragons are not welcomed on official Equestrian grounds, so I can turn you in, and have you put down or worse. However, because of legal loopholes, I can bend the rules, and do things my way. So impress me, and I will reward you with what desire, justice over your father." Ember tried to get up, but Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Smokey prevented her. "I want vengeance, and to be the new Dragon Lord." She said angrily, while struggling. Granny thought for a few seconds, before saying, "That too. I'll give you one week, and remember. Control your temper and behave, or I'm calling the guards." Ember quickly replied, "What about that kid, and his dad?" Granny responded with, "First of all, the baby dragon's name is Spike, and he's quite a promising young fellow. Second of all, I have ways of hiding that illusionists can only dream of." Ember rolled her eyes, while sighing. "Fine." She said. "I promise you, your desperation will pay off, if you behave enough." Granny said.

-

Later, Ember was outside, walking with Spike and Big Mac, on their way for the first chore, in the seven days of community service, she was forced to go through, for assaulting the family. Spike pointed out that while she could fly away, her concussion could cause complications, even pointing her poor balance, as well. "Like Smith said." Ember said. "I'm desperate to for revenge against that false Lord Rich. I may have a headache, but in Dragon Lands culture, toughness is everything." Spike asked if it was toughness or willingness, but Ember didn't understand the question. Spike explained that his father told him a bit about Dragon Land culture, particularly the fact that Bloodstone Scepter will find you worthy, if you touch the ruby, on the top. If not, you would be zapped by its brave might. Although Spike admitted he didn't understand that last part.

Finally, they arrived at the cow shed, where a cow and calf awaited. Big Mac opened the gate, allowing Spike, Ember, and Himself to enter. The calf began to nurse, a Spike and Big Mac got a bucket, and proceeded to milk the cow. Ember, however, just stood there, unimpressed for about thirty seconds, before saying, "You know, if you take the baby, you would have more... what ever that is." Big Mac stopped what he was doing, turning to Ember. "Eeyup." He said. "... but Granny said shared milk would help sales. Besides, it's not a good idea to separate a calf from their mother." Annoyed by this, Ember sighed, and walked towards the calf. "Let me show you how it's done." She said, before grabbing the legs. Suddenly the cow grabbed her, by the tail, and started tossing her around like a rag doll, slamming her to the ground repeatedly, side to side. Unsure what to do, Spike and Big Mac, backed up, a bit, before standing around, watching the cow tossing around Ember. Both agreed that, Granny maybe should have given her easier chores.

-

After a while, Ember ended back in the house, lying on her front, with a heat pad on her back. Accompanying her, were Bright Mac and Buttercup. "We all get hurt, at one point, on the job." Bright Mac said. Ember was so upset, so humiliated, that she went from showing signs of pain, in her voice, to signs of anger, in her voice. "I was rapidly body slammed, By A Cow!" She shouted. "I understand that." Bright Mac calmly replied. "Cows are more dangerous than people realize, not just the males." Buttercup said, a little annoyed. "Look. We were able to convince my ma, Granny Smith, to give you less dangerous chores." Bright Mac said. "Fine, but just because I don't want a humiliating defeat, like that again." Ember replied.

Ember asked why Bright Mac and Buttercup were so skinny. They told her they had AIDS, also known as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. In fact, they were under advanced symptoms, such as rapid weight loss, joint pain, diarrhea, and muscle aches. Additionally, they showed they each had a rash, caused by the illness. Buttercup had hers on her head, under her hat, and Bright Mac had his on his neck, under his neckerchief. "Wow, you don't let illness get the best of you, neither?!" Ember said, with impression. Bright Mac let out a big sigh. "More a less." He then said. "We're trying to live life to the fullest, in the meantime." Buttercup said.

A knock was heard on the door, and Granny came in to inform Ember on her next chore. Ember took a look at Bright Mac and Buttercup, sitting in their chairs. Being to understand what they were going through, she turned back to, and asked "Can I help them, or can they help me?"

-

Over the week, Ember began to not only work with the family, but sympathize with them as well. She helped Bright Mac and Buttercup harvest the apples, especially when they were having trouble bucking the apples off the trees. She punched one tree, causing the apples to fall, or she would just simply pick the apples.

One time, Spike was helping her with Grape-treading, and she went from stomping, to jumping, only to make a mess. Spike wasn't pleased with her, getting grape juice on his face. However, with all the jumping, Ember end up slipping, and fell on her back. Spike helped her up, and Ember gestured she was okay, putting her claw behind her head, while smiling guiltily.

One time even, she was feeding the chickens, with Spike and Apple Bloom, supervised by Smokey. At first, Ember was bored with it, but Apple Bloom and Spike taught her some tricks, including throwing and scattering the food, and getting the chickens into one place, then dump some of the food in front.

-

Meanwhile, on day six, Governor Rich was in his carriage, which were pulled by dragons now. Inside, he was having a discussion with his wife Spoiled Rich, and his daughter, Diamond. "I still can't believe you convinced those dragons to pull our carriage." Spoiled said. "Well, when the Dragon Slave Movement becomes official, we would definitely be able to save money on servants." Governor Rich said. "Does this mean we get to keep these dragons, and fire all of our servants?" Spoiled ask. "Not yet, next month." He replied.

Diamond was getting restless. "Are we there yet?" She asked sassily. "NO! BE PATIENT!" Filthy and Spoiled Rich yelled. "Okay." Diamond Tiara said gleefully. Suddenly, Diamond saw something she'd never seen before. There were two strange creatures, on a flying taxi, pulled by six non-sentient pigs. "Look, Tirek." Said one of the creatures. "What, Discord, the carriage pulled by dragons?" Said the other. Diamond made a face of shock, but the glass in the carriage was reflecting so much sun, that all they saw was the Bloodstone Scepter inside. "Obviously, the equestrian dragons have their Dragon Lord inside." Tirek said. "Are you sure?" Discord asked. Diamond wanted to get her parents' attention, but she was too mesmerized by the monster and the centaur, realizing after all this time, they existed, while at the same time, listening to them. "Yes. Can you not see down below?" Tirek said. The monster looked down, as the taxi sped up. "Ah. This dragon territory." Discord said, before turning his head back to their way. "Sorry I doubted you."

When the creatures were out of view, Diamond looked down, and saw below, Spike and Ember alone in Sweet Apple Acres farm. This time, she took the urge to get her parents' attention, and when they looked down, Governor Rich was surprised to see an image of the same colored dragon as torches daughter. It wasn't until he noticed both dragons going into the barn, that he ordered the dragons to land in the farm.

-

Meanwhile, Granny was in the barn, waiting for the governor. When his carriage landed, Granny exited, and asked "There a problem, Filthy Rich, owner Berry Rich Enterprises, governor of the Earth Pony Racial Border, or State, or whatever you call it now?" She noted the dragons, wearing harnesses to the carriage, while Governor Rich said, "First off, you don't have to address me by all of my achievements. That's too wordy. Second off, you would happen to own dragons, do you?" Granny turned to him, but before she could say anything, he said, "Those are mine." Surprised at what he said, Granny replied with, "Yours?!" Governor Rich had pride in his statement. "I'm not saying you can't have your own, with one exception." He said. "What do mea-"

Before the dragon could finish the question, Spoiled hit him on the back, and gave Governor Rich the Bloodstone Scepter. "As your Dragon Lord, I demand you all to never to speak, unless spoken to." He said, demandingly to the dragons.

In a basement, Ember, Spike, and Smokey were waiting, accompanied by the rest of the Apple family. "Do we have to hide in here?" Ember said, feistily. "I say we fight back, and force-" "Don't you understand?" Spike interrupted. "That's the exact attitude that makes ponies fear dragons." Ember didn't care, but Smokey did. "You know, Spike's right about your attitude problems." He said. "You killed a chicken, all because she was peck-" Before Smokey could finish, he was hushed by Buttercup, claiming she was trying to hear through one of the secret speaking tubes.

The other side of the tube was hidden in the barn, but was able to pick up what was being said. "Where's that still blank flank granddaughter of yours?" Diamond asked. "She should be here somewhere." Granny said, as the signal for Apple Bloom, to come out, through the secret entrance. "Well, she better know they had to cancel school, due to safety reasons, for the rest of the month." Diamond said. "We got that, but what kind of safety reasons?" Granny said.

At that moment, Apple Bloom appeared, and said, "Um... Am I interrupting something?" Granny told her that Governor Rich was just asking if they've seen a dragon, which Apple Bloom replied, while pointing at the dragons in harnesses, "There's some, right there." Granny giggled, but Diamond was not amused. Her father even face palmed upon hearing it. "Not those dragons, you idiot!" Diamond shouted. "Daddy's looking for a blue female dragon, named Ember. By the way, that is an amazing cutiemark." Apple Bloom looked at her flank, but there was no cutiemark. She heard Diamond Tiara laugh, as she blushed. "You poor, poor blank flank, having to make Zap Apple Jam, with the rest of your low life family." Diamond said sassily. "What's wrong with having no cutiemark?" Asked one of the dragons. At that moment, Diamond stomped on her tail, saying, "I wasn't talking to you." Apple Bloom, horrified with how she treated the dragon, nervously replied, "A-A-Actually, I've been looking forward to making zap, for years." Diamond shook her head, and said, "I'm not taking about the jam, I'm talking about your own family. You must be so embarrassed." Granny tried to interfere, but wouldn't let her, believe it didn't matter, because though the lower class was dirty, and needed to be shown who's boss. "Well, what do you mean?" Applebloom asked.

-

In the basement, Bright Mac, Buttercup, and Ember were listening to all of the mean things, Diamond Tiara was saying about the family, from pointing out that Apple Bloom's parents may die of AIDS soon, to Applejack now a fugitive. She even claimed that Applejack, and five others that escaped, had a connection the mysterious changeling attacks (, or so she heard,) claiming that they must be spies for the hive, may have been responsible for the mass invasion, in the Unicorn Racial Border, two years ago. Although, almost non of those claims, about Applejack, were true, except for one. Governor Rich, briefly giving Apple Bloom a false sense of security, said, "Diamond, you know that's not true about Apple Bloom's sister." Only to confirm that Applejack, and five others, did, in fact, escape jail.

Ember whispered that Bright Mac and Buttercup should be up there with them, but Granny's rules state that all family members stay in the basement, until Granny give a signal, for one or all. When Ember heard the Riches making more racist comments about dragons, she demanded she go up there, and stop them, but Spike got in her way, saying, "No. Wait! Are you crazy? Even if I were up there, I wouldn't risk it." Ember smiled, menacingly.

Ember threw him out of the basement, right through a secret door, literally. The sound of this, and his impact got the attention of Diamond. So out of curiosity, she walked over to the other side of the barn. Neither Filthy nor Spoiled heard the sounds of Spike, they did hear a scream, getting the full attention of Granny and Apple Bloom as well. They all ran to the other side, and saw Diamond adoring Spike. "You never told me you had a baby dragon." She said with a smile on her face, while hugging and petting him. Spike didn't look comfortable, but Diamond didn't seem to care. Governor Rich turned to Granny and shouted, "Granny Smith, you better explain this to me!" Granny sighed. "Fine. Here's the truth." She said with guilt. "The rumors about a dragon parent. Well, they're true."

"It had all started when Lord Torch was on the verge of making the Dragon Lands a territory of the Crystal Empire. Torch heard amazing achievements from King Sombra, including restoring interracial relationships, but on the day, when Torch was just about to sign the agreement, to grant Crystal Empire access, he was interrupted and informed that Sombra had died, and the Crystal Empire was collapsing. Riots raged, and when Stinkin' Rich and Filthy Rich went to the Dragon Lands, Lord Torch announced that he was going to his public, that he will go interview them, and take his then eight year old daughter to show what he does. When the baby dragon's father, Smokey, got back to his nest, he found that the riots got worse. Every Dragon was yelling, the kid killed one of them. In a panic, he ran home and save one of his eggs from being stolen or smashed, in riots, but was unable to save his wife. One day we found him in the river, to make a long story short, we got used to him, as he got use to us, and he, and that there son of his, have been living here since."

Governor Rich gave Granny Smith a look of suspicion. "Are you telling me, that after all of that, he became your slave, and that's his son?" Granny looked at the governor, and babbled nervously, only for him to act more cheerful. "Well done." He said. "We need more examples of owning dragons. I refuse to press charges on you, as a result." Diamond was still cuddling Spike, as if he was a big dog. "Will you let go?" Spike asked, while still struggling. Ignoring him, Diamond said, to her father, "Daddy, I want this baby dragon. Let me take him home." Spoiled and Filthy turned to Granny, not wanting to say no, at the moment. "Are you willing to sell that dragon, at any point." Spoiled asked. Granny saw Spike shake his head. "No, Spike is not for sale." Said Granny. "He's part of the Apple Family." Think it was a joke, Governor Rich chuckled, and said "We all know he's not related to any of your relatives. Now how about... um, sixty thousand bits." Granny quickly replied with, "Quite an offer, but neither Spike nor his father are for sale. Besides, even if saw them as property, I still would sell them, because of the way you treat dragons. No one, deserves to be domestically abused, regardless."

"Diamond, still wanting Spike, began to whine and throw a tantrum, "I WANT HIM." She whined. "NO! CAN NOT HAVE THAT DRAGON, PEIROD!" Filthy and Spoiled yelled, at her. "Okay." Diamond said, cheerfully, now back on her feet, and releasing Spike. "Don't worry about her." Governor Rich said. "That's normal for her to act like that, and for her to only accept, when yelled angrily at." To Diamond, Spoiled said, "When the movement's in-acted, you could, without a doubt, own a baby dragon of your own." Something suspicious was going on, to Spike, especially how many times slavery was mentioned for dragons. "Movement?!" He said.

-

Before leaving, the Governor gave a complimentary invitation, to the Dragon Lord Coronation, and a map to the Dragon Lands. After his carriage took off, Granny ordered the family, and Ember, to come out of the basement, which turned out to be the second basement below. Once everyone was out, Granny told them, that it was the governor and his family, only to be reminded that they heard. "I think, Governor Rich thought Ember was my dad." Spike told them. Everyone looked at Ember. She confessed that she threw him out, so he could stand up to them, as a dragon. Granny glared at Ember for a moment, then changed the subject. "Anyway, they thought he was a, I'd rather say pet, and was so impressed, that he invited us to his, Dragon Lord coronation." She told them, much to Ember's disgust. "Now, before you say anything, Ember, this could be your opportunity. We received some free reservations, to a pony and dragon friendly hotel, in the Dragon Lands. "However, they won't let me, Bright Mac, nor Buttercup in, due to health problems. So the three of us will have to stay in a special hotel. Big Mac, do you think you can help Smokey take care of Spike, and your little sister?" Big Mac quickly replied with, "Eeyup."

While Granny Smith didn't trust Ember enough, to watch over Apple Bloom and Spike, she always trusted Big Mac and Smokey. So with that settled, she gave Ember's final chore, to help the family pack up, and put it all on the wagon. Tomorrow morning they would begin their long journey.
