"Hello? Hello, Hello?! I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night."
A brown haired boy was staring down at the phone in his hand, a confused frown on his face. "Is this a prank?" He muttered to himself throughout the phone call almost like a parrot. He was fairly tall with a light stubble on his chin, obviously a young adult or older teen. His blue eyes shone brightly on the projector screen.
"Mike…" The boy in question turned his head towards his siblings, an unreadable expression on his scarred face. "H-he looks just like you...don't you think?" The brunette turned from the two and looked back up at the screen. It was rather uncanny how similar their features were...even if the man on the screen was far older than he was. It was almost as if that man could be his older brother...maybe even his Dad if the video was really dated.
"Yeah..he does…" Mike's voice was deathly quiet throughout his response. Why did that man have such a resemblance to him?
The brunette ran a hand through his unmanaged hair as he placed the phone on the desk. "This was gonna be a long night." He muttered to himself as he leaned back into his chair. Now with a better angle of his face you could see the underneath of his eyes had gray color to them. He seemed to be exhausted. "Maybe a few minutes of sleep wouldn't hurt." He yawned and placed the security hat over his head before relaxing into the chair.
"Hey wait a minute- isn't that the room we're not allowed to go in?" The boys jumped at Rebecca's statement. "Yeah you're right...that's the office isn't it?" The kids held their breath as they continued watching. A sudden stomping sound began to echo from the screen.
The man continued to lay peacefully in his chair as the stomping got closer to him. It wasn't until an arm reached out and grasped his own that he was startled awake. Blinking the sleep away, the brunette man stared up in horror at the purple bunny that stared lifelessly back at him.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" The man scrambled up and tried to force his arm out of the robot's grip only for the hand to tighten around him. He winced in pain as the machine got closer to his face, as if to study him.
"Mike." The man stared dumbfoundedly at the robot as if it had grown a second head. "D-did you just s-speak?" He was shaking as the creature's hold began to cut off the circulation to his hand. "Please let me go bunny- creature- robot- thing!" He continued to struggle as the bunny raised it's other hand above the man's head. Feeling panicked, the man began to plead for his life.
"I-I don't wanna watch this anymore." Mike began thrashing in his restraints. "Stop it- STOP THE VIDEOS PLEASE!" He continued to struggle against the ropes as screams from the video played out in the background. "NO MORE!" He cried. Vincent only watched with a smile on his face. He was very amused by the display of fear coming from the child.
"Hush up." The purple man barked. His smile became more playful as he looked to the projector again. "The lesson isn't over yet." A few suits came up from behind Mike and forced him to stop thrashing in his restraints.
"You're insane- please just leave us alone." Jeremy cried. He froze however when the screen showed a different man in the booth. He had red hair much like himself as well as bright forest, green eyes. He wasn't as tall as "Mike" was but he was definitely older than the brunette.
"Geez, do they ever dust?" The man on the screen grimaced as he ran a finger over the filing cabinets in the back of the room. He tsked at the gray particles that glared back at him. "Someone should really fire the janitor." He muttered as he started rearranging the items in the room. More specifically the junk cluttering the desk.
"Whoever worked here last as the night guard was either a packrat or a hoarder. Disgusting." The red haired man picked up a trashcan and began throwing old doodles and drink cups away. "Come on man really? A half eaten moldy slice of cheese pizza. This is just nasty." He gagged at the rancid smell coming from it before plopping it into the can. "They really need to fire that janitor like yesterday." The man shuttered before pushing the garbage can to the other side of the room. While his back was turned he heard a sudden phone call enter his ears.
Turning to the desk, he reached over to the answering machine and pressed a button. "Hello this is Freddy Fazbears how can-" The man was cut off by the sound of a "Hello? Hello, Hello?!"
Grunting, the redhead tried again. "Yes hello this is Freddy Fazbear how can I he-"
"-I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night. Um I actually worked in that office before you, I'm finishing up my first week as a matter a fact so-"
The red head obviously wasn't paying attention to the call by this point. Instead he was glaring at the answering machine on his desk. "So you were the one who did this!" He pointed towards the clutter as if to emphasize his point. "Do you have no shame?! I have to work here in your mess you know! I bet you don't leave messes like this at your Mother's house punk!"
"Why is he yelling at an answering machine?" Rebecca whispered towards Mike, who in return just shrugged. "Maybe he didn't hear the guy say he was a recording…" Rebecca only nodded as Jeremy flushed in embarrassment. This was very familiar to him and he had a feeling he already knew how this scenario was going to end.
By the time the phone call had ended the redhead was still ranting to the machine about the mess of the office. "And another thing, why have a limited power source in the building anyway? What kind of cheapskate idea is that?! If you are going to have someone stay the night to make sure no one breaks in, why would you give them limited power to make it through their shift. It's like you don't want us to watch the cameras. This is a load of bull-"
The man jumped at the sudden stomp outside his left door. Turning to look at the dark abyss he pressed the small light button next to him. He nearly shrieked at the robotic bunny that was awaiting him. Without a second thought he slammed his hand onto the left door button and watched as a metal like wall fell down from the ceiling.
"Alright you guys have made your point, I'll stop complaining." He muttered as he started to massage the sides of his head to calm himself. "I should've brought my stress ball with me." He collapsed into the swivel seat behind him and flailed his arms out as the chair fell backwards with him meeting the ground with it. He groaned in pain for a moment until he heard familiar stomping come from the right hall this time.
Jumping to his feet, he reached out for the door button only for a yellow hand to nab his wrist from the inky abyss. "O-okay you guys have made your point...this isn't funny anymore…" The red haired man paled as a bird-like animatronic entered the room. He tried to remove it's grip from his wrist but only succeeded in making the hold on him tighter. "L-let go of me you creepy ass duck-"
The animatronic backed him towards the other metal door. It left him with no room to run, even though he wouldn't get far with the animatronic's grip on his hand. If he wasn't freaking out before, he was now. He went to punch the animatronic only for the bird to catch his other hand. He stared in horror as it let out one word. "Jeremy."
"H-how do you know m-my name-"
Rebecca looked between the video and her brother anxiously. It couldn't be a coincidence could it? Afterall both Mike and Jeremy looked like the older security guards and the animatronics even said their names. Was it possible? She bit her lip as the screen went black again. She had chosen to tune out the unpleasant ending that had befallen the red head. Did this mean she was next?
She looked up at her supposed older brothers and felt her blood freeze cold at their expressionless faces. What were they thinking? Surely they were terrified, right? She knew she was… had their life really been a lie this entire time? She knew the animatronics couldn't have actually been their parents since they were robots but she always thought that they were adopted from birth…
Rebecca looked down at her hands, suddenly noticing lines she had never actually remembered seeing before. A chill seeped into her skin- metal? A worried expression began to play on her face. It couldn't be- no… please don't let it be true. She felt her anxiety reach new levels as the screen turned on again.
Looking up, she nearly wanted to barf when she saw a young brown-eyed girl enter the office.
She was easily 5'5" and looked to be about 16 years of age. No… it can't be- Rebecca watched in horror as the girl removed the security hat from her head. There it was, plain as day. Short brown strands of hair fell into view.
The brunette played with her hair a bit as she sat in the swivel seat. She spun around a few times before scooting up to the desk. She was quiet and reserved for the most part and seemed to startle at every sound especially when the phone began to ring.
The children sat quietly awaiting the call but were surprised to hear a different audio recording play.
"Uh Hello, Hello? Well if you're hearing this then you made it to day two! Congrats! Um.. I won't talk as long this time since Freddy and his friends seem to become more active as the week progresses."
"That's great."
The kids jump at the sudden grumpy voice. This was the first time the girl had really made a noise at all. They watched as she huffed before looking over the cameras on the monitor in her hands. She definitely seemed to be on edge.
"-just to make sure everyone's in their proper place. Interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn't come off stage very often."
"You don't say." The girl blew a strand of hair out of her face not looking up from the monitor.
"-one more reason not to run out of power, right? I also wanna-"
"Enough please. I have a headache and lord knows those creatures can probably hear you." The girl grumbled to herself as she muted the call. She bit her lip roughly as she scanned the show stage camera from top to bottom and from side to side. It was as if she was daring one of the animatronics to move.
This went on for what felt like hours before the sound of loud frantic footsteps resounded outside. The brunette fumbled with the monitor annoyed as she reached for the door button.
Her surprise was clear on her face when an animatronic fox was jumping at her. Using her reflexes she ducked as the creature flew over her. With a new sense of fear powering her drive she stood from her seat and was about to run, the monitor now laying forgotten on the floor, but was stopped from the word that had fallen from the fox's mouth. "Rebecca!"
The children's eyes went from the screen to the unconscious robotic fox on the floor. This had to be fake, it couldn't be true.
However when they looked back up at the screen they saw another animatronic come up from behind the young girl. They were surprised to see it was Freddy who had joined in, stopping the girl from turning and running. It was here that the screen turned black again, most likely for the final time.
The children were silent. Their eyes were looking over what they could see of their arms and legs. How was it that they were only noticing their robotic appearances now.
"Alright students!" Vincent's voice rang through the tense room. "How about a fun quiz! I wanna test your knowledge!" He smirked evilly as the kids stayed silent. The new revelations about themselves were mind boggling to say the least.
"Don't worry, the quiz will only be worth 100% of your grade!"
Hope you guys enjoyed and stay healthy!
