Hey! My name is Maya Prewett, and today I got to Hogwarts for the first time ever! My best friends Mark and April are my brother and sister and Mark is 13 while April is 12, I'm 11 so they both already go to Hogwarts and I've missed them so much! My other best friend Ron Weasley happens to be my cousin and he's the same age as me. On the train I sat with Mark and April as we discussed what house I would be in, luckily I have a sibling in each house so whatever house I get sorted in I won't be alone.

Despite that I still really want to be in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor as that's where Mark and April are. "Maya? MAYA?!" April exclaimed waving her hand in front of my face, "Oh sorry," "It's fine, but as I was saying," Mark continued with a pointed look, "I'm positive you'll be a Gryffindor," he said, "Nonsense! Clearly she's a Hufflepuff," April retorted, "Oh well you see I've been thinking I'll be in Slytherin, I'm fact I think I'll go see Fiona now!" I said as my siblings gave me very annoyed looks. Fiona is the only person in my family to be in Slytherin and has felt the need to act like a brat because if it.

Finally it was time to get off the train, I had to separate from Mark and April and although I would've loved to go sit with Ron I have no idea where he is so I just sat down in a boat by myself. Now an important thing I don't think you know about me yet is that my siblings and the Weasley siblings are really close, like almost as if we're all siblings. So it was second nature to me to be with a ton of people! I have 11 siblings and if you count the Weasleys 18 so I'm not usually short on company.

Shortly after I sat down I was joined by a girl with long golden brown hair and pretty blue eyes, "Hello! My name is Maya Prewett, what's your name?" I asked the girl, "Daphne Greengrass, nice to meet you," the girl quietly responded, you could just tell she was shy, but before I could say anything else we were joined by two girls who looked like sisters, "Hi! My name is Maya Prewett and this is Daphne Greengrass, who are you?" I asked them, "My name is Padma Patil and this is my twin sister Paravti," The girl sitting farthest from us said, "Nice to meet you," I responded.

The rest of the ride was pretty boring, Padma and Parvati whispered quickly to each other and Daphne seemed good with not talking at all so I settled for craning my neck over the boat to try to see Hogwarts. I was the first one to see it and I quietly whispered "Oh my," then the castle disappeared from view and before I knew it we were pulling up to shore.

I walked into the hall and saw Jake at Ravenclaw, Fiona at Slytherin, Mark at Gryffindor, and April in Hufflepuff and I felt reassured. It would be fine. On the other hand Ron (who I had finally located although I was stuck near Daphne and couldn't get near him) was an absolute wreck. His whole family has been in Gryffindor, unlike my family. My family is actually quite odd as most Pureblood family's have a specific house but I guess that's why they call us blood-traitors.

My parents have always supported Muggles and I know for a fact they will never stop. I remember one time when I was little I saw Draco Malfoy in Diagon Alley and being the optimistic little kid I was I waved at him, and he walked over to me and called me a blood traitor. Later that night I asked my Dad what that means and he told me it meant good people, so the next time I saw Draco I said thank you. My parents were dying of laughter and it still makes me smile to think about.

The sorting went on and on and on, I didn't register anything. Finally they called Mayalyna Prewett. I cringed at my full name as I walked up to the sorting hat. "Hm. An intelligent mind, you would do good in Ravenclaw, definitely not Slytherin, your extremely loyal, and friendly, you could be in Hufflepuff you know. Ah but bravery, very brave indeed. I know just what to do with you!" And then it yells to the whole great hall "GRYFFINDOR!" I find myself sighing in relief, as much as I love Jake he's graduating soon and I really wanted to be with April or Mark. I cast April an apologetic look as I happily hurried over to the Gryffindor table.
