I don't mind people celebrating my birthday. Hell, I would even go along with any kind of whims that my friends would have prepared for me on that day just to humor them.

But not this one, today will be in accord with my mood.

That doesn't mean I'm not grateful to the people who love me so dearly, though.

I was slowly awakening from a blissful sleep and in no hurry to fully waking up. Usually, I would get up as soon as possible, getting things done like breakfast and other chores around the house. But not today; it's my day off; no work, no chores, or rather, all those things could wait a few hours if not the whole day.

No, today, I will laze around for as long as I could- no, desire.

"Mama! Time to wake up!"

"Hoof!" I groan as a sudden weight land on my chest and stomach that followed the initial warning shout. I barely had the time to open my eyes that I could feel the small body crawling up to me.

When I opened them, I was met with a magenta pair of eyes, belonging to the little girl who has her head nestled between my abundant chest, smiling and grinning brightly, just like her other mother.

"Happy birthday, Chris-mama!" She congratulates me.

Chasing the last bit of my drowsiness against my dearest wish of lazing around, I bring a hand on the head of my daughter, patting the wild mane of silver-white hair, another combined trait of both my wife and me. "Thank you, Yukina-darling. Also, Good morning." I greet my daughter warmly.

"Yukina-chan, I told you to wake up your mother, not jumping on her!" Another voice echoes in the bedroom, forcing me to shift my gaze while ignoring my girl performing a mock pout at the small scolding. I give my attention toward the door's entrance, where my wife is walking inside with a tray in her hands. 'Breakfast in bed?' I thought as I straightened myself up a bit, settling my daughter on my lap.

As she sets the tray on the nightstand on my side, the woman of my life then sits on the edge of the bed, cupping my face with both hands before kissing me tenderly. "Happy birthday, love." She utters as she pulls away, her hands not leaving my face, even gently brushing my cheeks with her thumbs.

"Thank you, dear," I respond with a smile, my hands cupping hers before leaning forward for another kiss.

"Ewww…" Our moment was interrupted by our daughter's remark, showing us a mock disgust look while sticking her tongue out, like when we tried to feed her bell pepper a while ago.

"I will have you know that those little acts between your mothers are what led you to be born, sweetie." My wife says.

"More importantly, Hibiki-mama! You should give the breakfast we prepare for Chris-mama's day." Yukina deflects the conversation.

I raise an eyebrow at my daughter's words before eyeing the two most important people in my life dubiously. "The two of you cooked for me?" My eyes shift between the two of them several times, then back on my daughter before adding with a little edge. "Together?"

"Don't worry hon, Yukina-chan only helps me a little?"

"Taste-testing?" I inquire.

"Lot of them. It's safe." Hibiki answers with a reassuring expression.

I furrow my eyebrows at this. "So, you are certifying me, that, if I were to check the kitchen right this instant, I will not find something dark brewing in it or in the trash."

A sweatdrop could be seen on Hibiki's temple. "Well, if you mention the trash bin…"

"Come on, you are exaggerating mama! I'm not that bad!" Our daughter voices.

I shift my dubious expression to her directly. "I still remember the charcoal-like meal with a human-shaped face that seemed to be screaming at me while promising my demise in an imminent future echoing in my ears, Yukina-dear. I consider myself fortunate to this day to not have tasted it when it actually knocked down your mother harder than any opponents we faced in our life… Do you even realize the trouble I had to explain to her staff, that their Commander was stuck in bed because of her daughter?"

"I got better! Stop making fun of me. Next time I will ask aunty Shirabe to teach me." She pouts.

I smirk in answer. "I'm sure she would be more than happy to assist, and like this, our kitchen will be safe. Though, can't say the same about hers."

"Mom!" she whines, to my teasing delight.

"Stop teasing her, Chris. I'm vouching for her, as we both taste-tested at each step of the recipe. They are safe… the kitchen as well"

"Even the trash bin?" I ask knowingly, to which, Hibiki simply rolls her eyes, but does not provide any answers.

"Fine, Let's try this culinary food my beloved daughter and wife put much effort into."

On my words, Yukina scurries off of me to sit by my side while my wife puts the tray on my lap and sits next to me on the edge of the bed.

I look at the perfectly stacked pile of waffles before digging in, cutting a piece of the breakfast, and putting it in my mouth before chewing carefully on it. I was still under their watchful gazes, apprehension on their face as they are waiting for my verdict.

I swallow before giving it to them. "Guess there is still hope for you not starving to death if you were to live on your own."

The sheepish smile from my daughter was all I need to make me happy. I cut another piece of the meal before holding the forkful to her. "Here, have a taste."

"I don't need it, Chris-mama. It's all for you," she attempts to dismiss my gesture.

But I insist. "Taste-testing during the process and actually tasting the final product are differents. So, have a taste."

Reluctantly, she accepts the forkful as I turn around to do the same with my wife. "You as well." I hold another forkful to my wife, who happily closes her mouth around the fork, not averting her eyes from me, and with barely hidden intent.

The rest of breakfast was spent peacefully, with me giving forkfuls here and there until the plate was empty.

"So, Chris. What would you like to do today?" My wife asks.

I thought about It for a moment before giving my answer. "Sleep."

From their surprised expression, they were not expecting that kind of answer from me. But it's what I want to do, it's still early and I want to sleep the rest of the morning away and wake up past lunch.

"Sleep?" Yukina asks me.

"Is there a problem with wanting to sleep more?

The loves of my life look at each other before my wife speaks. "Well, we kind of have a bunch of activities for you… So…"

"Well, it's my birthday, or like the two of you like to call it; 'Chris' day'. So, here are the two options I leave you with: Join me in bed, and then I will follow whatever plan you have for me based on my mood. Or do whatever you want between the two of you while I sleep the rest of my morning away.

They look at me in stunned silence; not certain of what to do or say.

I nudge them some more. "In other words. Will the two of you keep me extra warm by snuggling up to me while I sleep, or will you leave me in this bed alone?" I eye them carefully for their answer.

It did it, my daughter was circling her arms around my waist, snuggling up to me while interlacing her warm legs with my cooler one while my wife was making a round trip to the kitchen to deal with the empty tray. She was back seconds later, soon joining us to bed and doing the same as our daughter, snuggling up to me and interlacing her warm legs with mine.

I let out a pleasant sigh at the attention I receive from both my daughter and wife; my family.

As I close my eyes, I could feel Hibiki's lips closing in my ear before whispering. "Should we try for another daughter tonight?"

My eyes widen to her words, I turn my head toward my beloved for any trace of teasing or that she is joking. She is serious, even pecking me on my lips.

'Guess my nights will have an even more meaningful purpose from thereon, and a bigger family by the end of it.' I thought as I kiss Hibiki some more before snuggling in a more comfortable position with her and our daughter.

Life was more than good.
