"Sir, they have overpowered Leio's right flank, and they are attacking the command center now." The voice came from Lupus, my commander-in-chief. My brow was furrowed, the fur was soaked with sweat. I wiped my brow with my right arm, as my left had been ripped off earlier. Now a stump was in its place. The enemy had come to Frey, the capital of the resistance. The seventh war is almost finished, and it seemed as if all was lost. We have fought for 70 long years to protect our home, our life, but it seemed all was in vain. They were too strong, too powerful, too advanced.
"If we die, we go down as heroes. If we live, we will fight until we either win or die. Until the last one. Or.. " but that was only for extreme situations. We were in one, though. The Last Resort could save us. "We shall use the Last Resort." It takes the life of a chosen one, but it protects what they want. This was my second gift. I held a spherical object made of Sun TItanium. It was colored in green, blue, and yellow swirling from the bottom to the top.
As I hear the sounds of battle in the distance coming closer, I know that the time to act is now. Where had the years gone? 70 years ago, we had received a warning from space, warning us about plans for a group of humans and their armies coming to us, the first guardians. 70 years ago, we thought they were crazy for challenging us, but we soon realized that someone else was behind them. Someone stronger, someone with power. The prophecy told us about this day, though we never understood it. It told us about the twelve chosen. The twelve would be more powerful than their companions, and for 60 years we would not lose. After 10 years, she came. We understood that we couldn't win, but we could delay them. The humans were coming closer. I took out the object.
I put my hand on it and activated the object. It hummed in my paw. I bid my loyal soldiers goodbye. I told them all to hide in the bunker, and they left for it. 70 years have led to this moment. A brilliant light came from the object, as the doors swung open to reveal humans clad in armor. My anger grew, these were the enemy, these were the invaders, and they were going to die. They saw the object in my hand, glowing furiously. Their smiles of victory faded away into shock. Their eyes shone with fear. I smiled knowing what was to come. I held in my pocket, my first gift. It was a coin made of Sun Titanium that could make me grow larger or smaller, but instead of reducing or increasing the distance between atoms, it produced more atoms as I grew larger or removed them as I grew smaller. The blinding light consumed everything in the room. The object shook furiously and I felt my body getting numb.
Every sensation in my body went away until I heard a voice saying,
"You have sacrificed everything to protect others, what is your wish?.
"I wish for peace to return to my people, I wish for peace to return to the other eleven. I wish that all humans under her control be annihilated."
"It shall be done."
Now it was done, all my life led to this moment. I was basking in the light waiting for death…, but it never came. Death never came to greet me. The sphere went out from my right hand and put itself near the stump that was my left arm. It started forming into a Sun Titanium arm for my left stump. It attached itself to my left stump and suddenly I could feel my left arm again. My coin came out of my pocket and went in front of my heart. It went through my skin and to my heart without any problems. I fell asleep due to my fatigue.
I woke up in a forest, in the middle of midday. I didn't know where, or when I was. Did I save them? Did I die? Where was I? When was I? What happened?
I saw figures in the woods, spying on me. My ears were actively listening for anything. I heard 20. Were there any humans here? My left arm turned into a sword, 2.5 feet long. I stood up, waiting for someone to attack. I took the sword sheathed on my back in my right hand and took it out. I didn't know what was happening, but I knew I was in a danger zone.
