Chapter One: Discovery

Scutum-Centaurus Arm, Milky Way Galaxy, Intergalactic Federation Space

Sector Fleet Starbird, The Sanctum

Sector Fleet Starbird had been on its fifth tour of the Scutum-Centaurus Arm in the last two years, in those two years the Arm had been relatively quiet aside from the occasional smugglers passing through the region as it was sparser in Federation patrols then the Orion Arm. At the heart of the Sector Fleet, its prize capital ship the Sanctum sat in wait.

Admiral Bennett looked out into the vacuum of space, once again there was nothing interesting occurring in the Arm that was until one of his Officers approached him, "Admiral there is an unidentifiable starship coming out of Hyperspace." Bennett was puzzled as that was uncommon they were at the edge of the Arm and the probability that any ship would jump to this portion of it was unlikely.

"Alright, on the off chance it might be hostile of some kind get our defense primed, we cannot be caught off guard out here." The Admiral replied, his officer nodded and turned back. Admiral Bennett moved over to one of the Midshipman as the starship came out of hyperspace, "Get them to identify themselves."

The Admiral returned to the window looking out watching the starship drift there, it only took a few minutes before his Midshipman informed him that the ship was inhabited by a species called Trandoshans and that they came from what they knew as the unexplored part of their Galaxy cluster. The Admiral would then inform his Midshipman to demand them to dock in the Sanctums Hangar as they were now trespassing in Intergalactic Federation space.

The Admiral and two assigned guards from the Second Centauri Raiders Battalion would maneuver their way down to the Hangar bay as the Trandoshan ship landed. As the doors to the ship opened, three reptilian creatures stepped out. Bennett wasted no time in addressing the creatures, "I assume you three must be the Trandoshans we contacted." The one to the far right replied, "You'd be correct and I assume you are the humans that stopped our cargo run." as he slurred the final word he let out a hiss. The Admiral narrowed his eyebrows following this as one of his guards primed his blaster in case the creature turned hostile.

"Well if all it is on that ship is mere cargo you wouldn't mind if we search it for any contraband would you?" The Admiral asked, the Trandoshans looked at each we for a second and nodded as they really had no other choice. Two of the guards would walk aboard the ship, as the Trandoshans were ordered to put their hands up while the search commenced, after a few minutes the two guards would return bringing with them three other beings, "It would appear we have slavers on our hands Admiral." Bennett snarled at this, slavery had been made properly illegal for thousands of years in the Intergalactic Federation and now he looked upon three slavers face to face, "Bring them to the Brig and read them their rights." The guards nodded as the Trandoshans were detained, "You have violated Intergalactic Starcode, Article Fifty, Section Five participating in any form of slave trade or slave ownership in Intergalactic Federation space, you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in the Galactic Court of Law." while the Trandoshans were clearly puzzled by this the Admiral paid no mind to it as he laid his eyes on the three slaves proceeding to walk over to them.

One of the slaves looked to be as young as twelve maybe thirteen, all this caused was for a greater pit to fester in the Admiral's stomach, "I'm Admiral Jacob Bennett of the Intergalactic Federation, in accord with our laws you are now free." they looked hesitant not knowing if they could trust the man but at least they knew english. "Trust me, I'm not telling you any lies under our laws your freedom really is protected, now let me take you to the bridge and we can talk about where you come from." After a moment of silence the youngest one stepped forward and extended their hand, The Admiral would take it beckoning the other two to follow him as two soldiers stopped in front of him, "Search that ship and find their Star map we may be able to locate where in the uncharted cluster their galaxy is." The soldiers nodded as they went to board the ship.

The Brig, Sanctum

Officer Jacques-Lorraine entered the cell of one of their new prisoners, all three of them were appointed the Public Defender on board the ship to represent them in interrogation and their 10 minute preparation time had ended, "I do hope you know your client is here on three accounts of aiding and abetting in the process of selling slaves so you better have a damn good defense to prove him innocent." The Trandoshan hissed prepared to chastise the Officer for what he had just said but his Public Defendant stuck his hand out in front of him to stop him, "Well Officer I won't have to, after talking to my client he understands that there is no real way out of this, so he has agreed to take a plea." Jacques wasn't shocked but was certainly puzzled at how fast the Trandoshan slaver had opted to take a plea, after contemplating for a few more seconds he replied, "What do you propose the terms of this plea deal are exactly?" Wasting no time the Defendant responded, "He will inform you about everything he knows of his galaxy in exchange the best possible reduced sentence." Jacques expected that response so he just continued, "Alright well, you better have informed him that whatever he tells me needs to actually be useful if he wants a reduced sentence." The Public Defendant nodded in response as he turned to the Trandoshan and signaling for him to start speaking.

The Bridge, Sanctum

Admiral Bennett looked on into the void of space contemplating further on this encounter, it was known for quite a long time that the uncharted part of the galaxy cluster was blocked off by some sort of Hyperspace shield that made it near impossible to travel to. His train of thought was interrupted as the Officer entered the Bridge prompting Bennett to turn around and address him, "Officer Lorraine what did you happen to find out in Interrogation." The Officer sighed clearly still trying to fully process whatever he was told, "Well it's certainly a lot to take in, this galaxy seems to be the heart of the Force that's the first takeaway," He reached down below the ships holo-communication table and grabbed a marker before heading over to a white board, "So I know the star map hasn't finished updating yet so I'll fill us in on what we were told about the big players and the planets they reside on."

Jacques proceeded to draw three planets with logos off to the side of them as he continued, "This one right here is Coruscant, it is the capital of the Galactic Republic which relatively controls most of the galaxy. This second planet is Nal Hutta effectively its a planet made for the Hutt Cartel and many others like it. Finally, the third one is Cato Neimoidia, it's the crown jewel of the Trade Federation which is known for its staunch resistance to the Republic in recent years, they apparently had just formally seceded from the Republic with a handful of systems." As Jacques finished speaking the Admiral took a long look at the white board and contemplated on what he was just told. It was certainly hard to believe that an uncharted part of the galaxy cluster would have such a unified nation as it hasn't been recorded in any of the Federation's allies history before.

"Well Officer, thank you for the information but knowing the names of planets and factions won't exactly assist me if i can't place them on a map." The Admiral joked as a soldier walked up to him, "Sir we have finished importing the star map into our current one." Bennett nodded in understanding as he walked over to Jacques at the Holo communicator to take a better look at the star map. What popped up was a detailed mapping of that part of the galaxy comprising of billions of star systems with an even more in depth view of the planets that were located in them, The Admiral was in genuine disbelief as other officers began to walk over with curiosity. Something like this should've been impossible for this many star systems to get undiscovered over the past few millennium was unprecedented. The Admiral turned to a Lieutenant standing beside him, "Contact the Administration I need to have consul with the President immediately." The Lieutenant nodded as he began typing something into the holo communicator.

"Well Jacques I was not expecting that but at least now I can put your intelligence to use." The Admiral said before narrowing his eyes after seeing that part of the galaxy was still blacked out, "By any chance does could someone explain why there's still a blacked out part of our star map?" The soldier who informed the Admiral spoke up, "You see sir, from what we gathered on the map that part of the galaxy is too dangerous to properly be explored and thus no real effort had been made to map it." The Admiral thanked him for the clarification as the Lieutenant beside him signaled that the President would be patched in momentarily.

Surprisingly to Bennett not only the President was patched in and instead High General Jek'tir one of the few aliens in the High Command accompanied him. Quickly regaining his composure Bennett addressed them, "President Cenetti, High General Jek'tir it's nice to see both of you." The President wasted no time on responding, "It's nice to see you too Admiral Bennett, what is it that you have to tell us exactly?" Bennett signaled for the Lieutenant to share the view of the star map with the President and High General as he began speaking, "After making an arrest on a species from the uncharted part of the cluster, we retrieved their star map and managed to make out the existence of about three billion star systems with possibly more in the darkened area of their galaxy." President Cenetti visibly showed intrigue and the High General shared the expression but with a greater sense of caution sparking him to ask, "Admiral do you happen to know anything about this galaxy so far it's quite odd to see anything get past the hyperspace shield." The Admiral nodded in response as he began, "What we do know is that there is a somewhat unified Galactic Republic, minus a fringe group of systems that have supposedly seceded and in what we see labeled as the Outer Rim cartels practically control the area." As the High General contemplated the information Bennett continued, "We also found out that the galaxy is a de facto heart of the force, I would assume that means it would have the highest concentration of force entities and probably the most force users in history but i'm not quite sure about that." The President and High General nodded in understanding absorbing the information dumped on them. The silence wouldn't be held for long as the President spoke, "Admiral I know this request seem like it's coming out of the blue as we don't really know what's going on in that galaxy but I want you to take two Sector Fleets in the Andromeda and venture into this galaxy, we can call up temporary fleets to take your places."

The Admiral looked from the direction of the President to the star map and a moment of consideration replied, "Yes Mr. President I can do that." With that President Cenetti's hologram dissipated and that left the High General and the Admiral, "I'll inform Sector Fleet Bravo and Sector Fleet Delta that they'll be accompanying you, good luck Admiral." Bennett nodded and with that the High General was also gone. The Admiral looked amongst his officers who awaited orders, "Set course for Andromeda I have some business to attend to." The Admiral signaled for a Captain and Jacques to accompany him as the rest of the officers went back to their posts.

As they exited the Bridge, Bennett's guards fell into formation behind the group. After about 12 minutes of walking they arrived at the meditation zone. The guards stayed back and watched the entrance as the Admiral and his accompanying officers walked into the zone, they placed their weapons off to the side as they walked inward.

"Ah yes, Admiral Bennett, Captain Locke, Officer Lorraine it is nice of you to join us." A robed figure sitting in the middle of the Mediation chamber inquired, surrounding him was a squad of soldiers who were also meditating. "It is nice to see Master Aron I hope we aren't intruding on any meditation sessions." The Admiral had replied, "No not at all Admiral now what brings you here." The Admiral cleared his throat as he began, "You see Master Aron I know you haven't served as a General to our army since the Great War but we could really use the insight of a force user for the journey we are about to embark upon." Aron had now left his meditative state and looked up to the Admiral, "What would this journey be exactly?" Before the Admiral could gather the right words to say Captain Locke spoke up for him, "We are on a mission to what was once the uncharted part of the cluster, but now with a new star map we received from some slavers we've discovered it appears to be a de facto heart of the force, Multiple force entities and as far as we know an entire Jedi Order exists in the galaxy." Locke and Bennett now awaited the response anxiously. Aron took a while to contemplate and eventually spoke, "You say an entire Jedi Order? Hyperspace shield or not we would have felt their presence before hand. Are you entirely sure of this Captain?" Locke nodded.

"Well, I will help you for this reason alone, but at least try and keep us out of any battles we are peacekeepers not combatants." Even with Master Aron deciding to help the Admiral couldn't shake the feeling that this was not going to end well, "Thank you Master Aron, if you don't mind we'd like you to join us on the Bridge so we can further go over the information gathered." Aron nodded in agreement as he stood up and followed them out of the meditation room.

As the group entered back into the bridge, a Lieutenant beckoned them to come over as it has appeared his fellow sector fleet admirals had been informed of their mission. The Admiral walked over to the holo communicator and greeted them, "Hello Admiral Kai, and hello Admiral Owen," as they greeted him back he continued, "I do hope you were shown the star map so I don't have to do the explanation again." The Admiral let out a laugh as he awaited the response, "Luckily for you we were shown the star map and truly it is a nice find." Admiral Kai said, "Yes it really is, do you have an estimated time of arrival to our location in the Andromeda we have chosen a hyperspace route to travel to in their galaxy." The Admiral nodded as he continued, "Give it about ten minutes we'll be right there."

Andromeda Galaxy,Intergalactic Federation Space

Admiral Bennettwatched as The Sanctum exited Hyperspace allowing him to now focus on his fellow admirals with his undivided attention, "Now that we're here would you mind informing me on where we are going and what the best Hyperspace route to get there is?" Admiral Kai nods as he directs attention back to the star map, "Where we currently are in the Andromeda allows us to take a hyperspace route that practically goes straight to Coruscant, we'd enter into the galaxy at Ordo Eris," Kai points to the moon as he continues, "From there we would have to pass a smugglers run, following that we'd find ourselves orbiting the planet of Ryloth, thankfully we have a little room to continue maneuvering the galaxy without risking running into any Republic patrols until we reach Christophsis, from what the star map tells us this zone is under heavy Republic influence, if what we found out about these Separatist factions pulling away from the Republic it's reasonable to assume that region will be heavily defended." As Admiral Kai finishes, Bennett takes a long look at the route, they are going on as a militarized scouting party, taking such a heavily populated hyperspace route is dangerous but option do they really have? Regardless he knew he had to reply so he began speaking, "Understood Admiral, I suppose we don't have a choice but to follow this so I'm fine with proceeding with it."

As the Admirals agreed on plan, Captain Locke felt the ship enter Hyperspace it was really about to happen, the entire Federation could be put at risk depending on what they find in this new galaxy. Regardless the Captain just returned to his post praying for the best possible outcome.

The Sanctum, Hyperspace Travel Route, Unknown Territory

Barracks

Corporal Lance rubbed his eyes, he had barely got any sleep over the last few days, his platoon had kept bringing up that one of the Planetary Defense Fleets in the Andromeda had detected unusual Zelkerri Warship movement. The last thing he wanted was to fight those beasts, the stories in the history books about the long-standing conflict between the Federation and the Zelkerri was none short of horrific and based off that alone he had nightmares of those creatures that prevented any meaningful rest.

Lance was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard his name being called from down the hall, "Lance! The Sergeant is requesting an urgent briefing with the Platoon about our new mission, however he won't say." The Corporal looked over to the voice, it was his good friend Kris, he had met him in Basic Training and they had stayed friends throughout the two years of service on the Sanctum. Now they were both Corporals in the Fifth Parisian Rangers Regiment, "Kris what do you mean new mission? I haven't heard anything about a new mission."

Kris looked puzzled as if he couldn't fathom that Lance didn't know about this, "Dude, did you not pay attention to anything going on today? We were informed of a new mission this morning." Lance still had no clue but shrugged signaling for him and Kris to walk to the Briefing room.

As they entered and sat down their Sergeant did a headcount, once confirming everyone was here he began speaking, "Alright men look, today we are tasked with a mission that came out of the blue. Admiral Bennett has been asked by the President to pursue a scouting mission in the uncharted region of the galaxy cluster," If Lance was still asleep in any capacity it had gone out the window entirely, he had heard multiple stories about it being inhabited by rabid entities of living essence or something like that, "We've already been thrusted into the Galaxy thanks to us picking up on Hyperspace routes preexisting inside of it, as far as we are going to go so far is Christophsis, this planet might be orbited by ships from their resident Galactic Republic, normally this wouldn't be bad but to reveal ourselves in such a manner would be detrimental to our plans of observation, then again we are sending three fleets so I don't know what Washington is expecting of this mission anyways." Lance looked over to Kris in silence exchanging a mutual sense of caution. This would be interrupted by the Sergeant calling them to the front.

"Corporals get up here," Lance and Kris quickly moved to the front of room looking directly at their Sergeant, "If anything does go wrong when we arrive, if necessary our regiment will be deployed alongside the Centauri Raiders on the ground." Lance and Kris nodded. The Sergeant signaled for them to return to their seats but as they turned on their heels the room felt the ship exit Hyperspace. For some reason the uneasy feeling of the unknown had creeped into the room, and even the most battle hardened soldiers felt a chill down their spine, anything could be happening above right now, The Admiral could be explaining away to avoid conflict or they could be on the verge of a large Armada of ships firing upon them.

The silence lasted for minutes and finally the ship rocked, as the soldiers stumbled around the room trying to regain their composure, the ships alarm went off, they were under attack.

Kris and Lance looked at their Sergeant for orders, he signaled for every man in the room to gear up.

Now it was clear to the soldiers that this was not just going to be a scouting mission, whatever the fleets have countered one thing is for sure, this sparked the first conflict the Federation has endured in over five hundred years following the Great Universal War.

I really don't know how this is going to be received as "Earth" and Star Wars fics can either go unnoticed or be criticized for falling into the same cliche of Earth is overpowered or Earth would put up at least a better fight

Personally I believea fic focusing on not just Earth in the Star Wars Universe but also a fic that will touch on how and why they gained so much power throughout the galaxy throughout the millenniums.

Now I will dedicate this section to some lore about the Intergalactic Federation's history.

•Intergalactic Federation: Formed in 3980 following another war with the ever growing Zelkerri Dominion, The Commonwealth of Systems reached an agreement in the Kanami Accords to form an Intergalactic Federation with a neighboring Galactic Nation.

•Zelkerri Dominion: Estimated formation dates back to as early as 380BCE on their homeworld Zelkar, the Zelkerri Dominion remain a constant opponent to all incarnations of the Intergalactic Federation, The Zelkerri are an expansionist species powered by technological advancement. Following their defeat to the Commonwealth of Systems in the Fifth ZelkarriWar, they were forced to hand control over the Andromeda Galaxy and the Canius Major Dwarf galaxy furthering the species hatred for not only Humanity but everything that supported it.

•Kanami Accords: Signed on the planet of Kanami, the Kanami Accords was drafted and signed into existence by the Commonwealth of Systems in a meeting in the Kana, who controlled one of the galaxy bordering Andromeda.

•The Great Universal War: The latest Federation-Zelkerri conflict, it engulfed multiple galactic clusters into all out war. Following the brutal and devastating war the Protectorate of Maenne was formed in two galaxies formerly under control of the Zelkerri Dominion, while conflict still rages in the borders of the Protectorate the Intergalactic Federation shows no sign of relinquishing control of the territory.
