Dear Twilight,
I take it to heart the fact that we, Luna and I, made the right choice in abdicating the throne to you and leaving the reins of Equestria into yours and the other five's hands. I am very proud of you. We have been living quietly in Silver Shoals, under disguise, as we do not want to attract too much attention. I am, even as I write, enjoying a slice of cake – tiramisu to be exact, and a cup of green tea. The house we are living in is rented permanently to us – we have all the bits and credits to take care of living expenses. However, as good as life is here, part of me wishes to return to former places, for it is ingrained in my memory and will not leave anytime soon. Sometimes I look to the sky and the sun, and nostalgia clouds my eyes in tears, because through all these years I have seen you grow, in good and bad times, in ups and downs, and again, I can't help but tell you: I am VERY proud of you.
Luna is enjoying herself in the room. She has always been an inside person, and now is her eternal chance to stay indoors. Huh…eternal…I sometimes wonder at that word. I…sometimes have had to struggle seeing my little ponies shrivel and die, of age, of war, of sickness, or unfortunate accidents. It sometimes pains me that that burden has now passed on to you. But, what can we do? Immortal as we are, we have yet a redemption – one that I believe will renew our bodies – immortal or not – and we will all enter a new world, free of evil, free of Grogar, free of all the things that trouble and annoy us, including being…fat. Yes, I have actually gotten a little fat; the cakes have made me a little bigger.
The waves make the most beautiful music I have ever heard. If time be merciful, you could visit us here…
Twilight, Equestria's history never ended with us, nor will it end with you. You will keep passing history down to the next generation of ponies. Please, lead well, for I trust that you will – a little admonition from your former mentor. Please say hello to the others for me – Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Spike, Discord, even the leaders as well. I heard that you are getting on really well with the other nations? That makes my pride double. Send my regards also to Cadence and Shining Armor, King Thorax, Dragonlord Ember, Prince Rutherford, and even Queen Novo. They all have a place in my heart, though I have yet to meet some of them. Maybe, one day, we might all be able to meet here in this beautiful place…it would be a dream come true. But for now, I love you Twilight. May you soar and prosper, farther than we've ever done before.
