"Will you hurry up?" Sunstreaker asked his twin brother Sideswipe.
"Stop whining, if you had been watching where you were going, you wouldn't have stepped in this hole and got stuck would you?" Replied Sideswipe, who had converted his right hand into a drill and was using it to expand the hole Sunstreaker's foot was stuck in so he could pull it out. "And oh my, you scratched your paint".
"What?! Where?!" Sunstreaker frantically leaned over to look at his leg. Sideswipe grinned and pointed to a very, very small scratch above Sunstreaker's ankle. "Great. Work a little faster!"
"Stop bossing me around!"
"Someone has to do it". Sunstreaker said, giving his twin a shove.
Despite the gunfire going off around them, the twins began a shoving match, too engrossed in it to notice a heavy-armored Decepticon drone approaching.
"Get down!"
The twins ducked their heads and saw Prowl firing at the drone, trying to draw it's attention away from them. The drone turned away from them and began firing at Prowl, who dodged the blasts and returned the fire.
"Now stop arguing and get out of there!" Prowl barked.
"Yes, sir". Sunstreaker and Sideswipe said together. Prowl had taught the twins every battle maneuver they knew, except "jet-judo", which they had invented on their own.
Sideswipe finished drilling the rock around Sunstreaker's foot and the yellow twin was able to pull his foot free. He crouched down to examine the scratch.
"Ugh…"
"Oh stop overreacting, let's go give Prowl a hand". Sideswipe said, turning around in time to see the Decepticon fire a blast that caught Prowl in his right side. The two raced toward their friend.
Prowl sat up slowly to see Sideswipe on the drone's back, putting it in a headlock. Sunstreaker was wrapped around it's right arm, trying to gain control of the heavy gun attached to it. He succeeded in causing the drone to shoot itself.
The twins dropped to the ground gracefully before the drone fell and then they began kicking it on each side.
"Okay you two, it's down, you can turn off the attack modes". Jazz said, walking over to Prowl. The twins made their way to Prowl.
"Ouch…" Sideswipe muttered, seeing the wound. A large portion of Prowl's side was gone.
"It's fine", said Prowl.
"That hole is as big as my head!" Sunstreaker exclaimed.
"Nothing's that big". Sideswipe quipped.
"I'll take care of Prowl, Prime wants you two to go after Stinger". Jazz said, moving to swing Prowl across his shoulders.
"I can walk". Prowl protested.
"You might have to", said Jazz with a grunt. "You remember the last time I had to pack you off the battlefield, I suggested you needed to lay off the energon for a while".
Prowl thumped Jazz on top of the head with his fist as he was carried off. Before following Sunstreaker, Sideswipe went over to the drone and gave it one more kick.
"Scrap!"
Prowl, lying on his left side, turned his head to glare at Ratchet, who -unfazed by Prowl's yelp - continued to work on his injury.
"That wouldn't happen if you would accept pain meds". Ratchet said.
"They mess with my logic circuits". Prowl said.
Jazz, who was leaning on the wall with his arms crossed, had to turn his head to hide his amusement from Prowl. He vividly remembered a time Prowl had been given pain meds -for a ripped shoulder socket as he recalled- and the security officer had staggered up to Blaster and ordered him to do karaoke. Jazz had to admit, Prowl could belt out a tune with the best of them. Unfortunately, everyone had been too afraid of what Prowl would do if he found out they'd recorded him, so no one had.
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe entered the medbay and stood next to Jazz, looking sheepish.
Ratchet placed a metal plate over Prowl's wound for protection. "Your built in repair system will handle the rest". He said. "Until then, I want you to stay here. I don't want you tearing anything before it's fully healed".
"And how long will that take?" Prowl asked, shifting uncomfortably onto his back.
"About a week". Ratchet said.
"Seriously?"
Ratchet left the room, eyeing the twins suspiciously as he passed.
"Prowl, we're really, really sorry". Sideswipe said.
"For what?"
"For causing you to get hurt". Sunstreaker said.
"You didn't cause-"
"We wanna make it up to you". Said Sideswipe.
"We thought maybe we could handle security until you're back on your feet". Sunstreaker supplied.
"Okay first of all, you don't owe me anything", said Prowl. "Second, keeping that Con from turning me into spare parts is enough".
"Please, Prowl? We feel really bad about this". Sideswipe begged.
"You need someone to fill in for you". Said Sunstreaker.
"Please-please-please?" Both twins were talking at once.
"Okay-okay, fine". Prowl said, raising a hand. "Just don't cause any trouble, okay?"
"Thanks Prowl!" Sunstreaker said.
"We won't let you down!" Sideswipe said.
"Yeah-yeah", Prowl waved his hand dismissively as the twins raced from the medbay.
"Bad move, Prowl ol' pal". Jazz said, looking after them.
