The Musician's Bodyguard
Chapter 1
It was early in the morning and Shouta Aizawa had just dragged himself out of the warm shower. The cold air hitting his wet skin caused him to shiver. He quickly got a towel and dried himself off then wrapped the towel around his waist. As he opened the bathroom door the smell of fresh-brewed coffee filled his nose. He got dressed in his gate guard uniform, happy that he didn't have to wear a hat, and headed towards the kitchen. However, on his way there his daughter Eri ran out of her room and cut him off.
"Hey, no running in the house unless there's an emergency." Aizawa said stumbling a bit.
"Sorry, daddy!" Eri said, slowing down when she reached the kitchen. She set down her backpack by her chair and sat down.
"Morning you two," Hitoshi said, finishing making breakfast for himself and Eri.
Aizawa just sighed and poured himself a cup of coffee and grabbed a protein bar from the pantry. He sat down on the couch, putting his shoes on.
"Dad you need to eat breakfast" Hitoshi said flatly.
"I am." Aizawa, said about to open the protein bar
"Protein bars and coffee don't count as a breakfast." Hitoshi said, taking the unopened protein bar from the raven-haired man and tossing it into his dad's workbag along with a bento box. "Here," he said, handing him a plate with a BLT on it. "Eat this. It has protein and veggies in it so you can't complain about it not having nutrients." he added.
Aizawa grumbled but ate the food his son made for him. "You guys should head to school or you're going to be late." He said finishing his breakfast.
"Right back at you. Eri and I will be taking the bikes to school since we have clubs afterward." Hitoshi said as he double-checked that he had everything before heading out with Eri following him. Aizawa shook his head and cleaned up before heading to work.
Aizawa checked the time and decided that he had enough time to grab another coffee before getting to work.
He stopped by the local coffee shop. It was Wednesday so things should be fast-paced enough to grab a coffee and go. As he was walking up to the coffee shop he noticed a man getting pickpocketed but decided not to do anything about it, as it would only make him late. He stopped into the bathroom to take a quick leak before getting in line and browsing his phone. As he was waiting for his turn to order he heard the guy in front of him panic.
"Oh shit where did I put it…. It was here a minute ago," he said in a low panicked voice riffling through his pockets.
"Sir if you can't pay for your order I'm afraid I can't give it to you," the barista said about to delete the order from her screen.
"No, no it should be here somewhere…. Great, this is what I get for not wearing a chain on my belt today…." The man muttered, on the verge of giving up hope.
Aizawa rolled his eyes, looking up from his phone and peering at the guy in front of him. He froze for a moment, frowning. It was the guy he had seen get pickpocketed earlier, and now karma was biting Aizawa in the ass for not helping him. The man had long blonde hair that was pulled back in a messy half-bun. His emerald green eyes were clouded with worry behind his red-rimmed glasses.
Aizawa pushed past the blond "Put his order on my tab and add a black coffee to the order. Large.
"Eh, what? No, it's fine, really!" said the blond, going to put the sandwich he had grabbed back into the cooler. Aizawa just ignored him and grabbed the food from the blonde and put it back on the counter.
"It's fine. The longer you take arguing with me the more people are going to be pissed off at us for wasting their time." Aizawa said paying for their stuff and handing the sandwich to the blonde. He headed to the pickup counter to wait for his order, which he figured would be served very quickly. The blonde followed him to the counter, trying to continue the conversation.
"How much do I owe you?" the blonde asked pulling out his phone.
"Considering that you don't have your wallet? Nothing" Aizawa said to him grabbing his coffee pushing past the man only to be pulled back by his arm almost spilling his coffee.
"But it's not like I don't have money! They just don't accept mobile app payments."
Aizawa just glared at the man attached to his arm "Let. Go." he said, he didn't care who this man was he was going to get slugged if he kept holding onto his arm. Sensing this, the blonde immediately let go.
"Ah sorry I just really want to pay you back," the man said, letting go of his arm and backing up a little. Aizawa sighed and just shook his head
"Let me guess: you won't let me go until I give you my answer right?"
The blonde just nodded with an embarrassed smile making Aizawa blush a little. Damn why was this man so handsome? ... Handsome? No. Annoying and pushy? Yes. Handsome? No ...Shit. Aizawa thought shaking his head again, causing the guy look at him inquisitively with a tilt of his head.
"Fine. Give me your phone number." Aizawa said, finally taking the man's phone. He traded phones with the man, inputting his number before giving the phone back to him. It took the man a second to realize what was happening before quickly inputting his number into Aizawa's phone and handing it back to him before the raven-haired man got more annoyed.
"There. That way, if I come up with a way you can pay me back I can just text you…. Shit I'm late" Aizawa said looking at his phone and rushed out of the coffee shop.
"Shouta Aizawa huh?" The man said looking at his phone with a bright smile. He was really cute…. now that I have his number I know I'm definitely going to see him again. He thought drinking his own sugary iced coffee.
