The Silvas who lived at 78 Otoni Street prided themselves on being a normal (and dysfunctional) family

Mrs. Silva was a short and slender woman with a bad finger for choosing men but a great finger for choosing the worst bars

Mr. Silva was a man of medium height with a scruffy beard who spent all day on the couch like a good middle-aged unemployed man

Marlon, the youngest son of the two, was a teenager with some problems but taking into account his alcoholic father and his mother who was not far behind he could be considered

considered someone normal to a fault.

And on the beautiful day March 17, 2017 that Marlon will never forget he was returning from the Rainz house where his best friend Philip lived. The Rainz's were an upper middle class family their son had gone to the same kindergarten as Marlon and he spent most of the day at their house because of the video games he never had but mostly to avoid their house. The Rainz had always treated Marlon well as if he were part of the family and this only made him want to spend less time with his parents.

But when nightfall came Marlon decided it was time to go back.

On the way that he used to walk every day Marlon saw that all the lights on the lampposts near his house had gone out.

And when he finally got home he noticed that the door was open, so he opened the door and said quietly

-Mom - nobody answered

Marlon felt his stomach churn when he heard footsteps upstairs but not heavy, unbalanced footsteps like his father gave him when he was drunk but slow footsteps as if someone was trying not to make noise.

With a racing heart when he saw a figure coming down the stairs Marlon hid under the stairs and after a few seconds a man appeared but not just any man, no, that man had something different, his clothes were not normal, he wore a giant purple blanket and carried in his hand a very large piece of wood.

And Marlon would swear that he saw a small beam of light coming out of the stranger's piece of wood after a few seconds of watching the dark room except for the light of his wand he turned and climbed the stairs again.

Marlon after hearing his mother's screams climbed the stairs hoping that the noises his legs that kept shaking would not alert the man.

When he reached the top he saw the door between them open and his parents lying on the floor as if they had fainted.

- I expected more from you," said the man with the piece of wood on his mother's chest, "if I knew that you would die only with the crucio I would use the avada kedavra that I didn't even use on your husband. Good," said the man, getting up, "my work is done.

Then the man opened the bedroom door, wiping the piece of wood on his clothes, and when he reached the stairs Marlon felt a surge of hatred and thinking only of killing that man, he jumped on his back and they both fell down the stairs.

So it was you who made that noise - said the man standing a few steps below Marlon - I didn't know that those bad bloods had a child - said the man laughing - I think it's time for me to do the full job CRUCIO - shouted the man but nothing happened - My wand - said the man.

Then the two looked to the top of the stairs and saw the man's wand lying on the ground. The man tried to run to the wand but Marlon was faster and kicked the man in the chest, making him fall back to the bottom of the stairs.

Give me back my wand - said the man - You won't be able to do anything with it you don't have magic running through your veins you're just a trou...

Shut up - said Marlon panting heavily and trying to speak calmly and slowly - If you don't shut your mouth I swear I'll shoot you with this thing - said Marlon without knowing what it was and how he could replicate what the man did. You shoot me," said the man laughing as if Marlon had told the best joke he'd ever heard. "You can't shoot me now give me my wand and I swear I'll kill you faster than I did your mother.

- Shut up - shouted Marlon - Don't talk about my mother - said Marlon trying to speak back low, which was almost impossible with the hatred that penetrated every part of his body.

- Don't try to give me orders kid - Said the man gritting his teeth and looking at Marlon with a menacing look - I don't take orders from Muggles - Said the man going up the stairs to take the wand from Marlon's hands mãos firmly and without trembling pointed it at the man's chest and shouted the first words that came to mind - AVADA KEDAVRA - shouted Marlon

And then a green light shot from the tip of the wand and hit the man's chest that flung to one side and Marlon each other so hard that it hit the wall and fell unconscious on the ground When he woke Marlon realized being in a bed and his hand on his chest looked into the room and saw that it was his friend Filipe's room.

So that was it, Marlon concluded, everything was just a dream I'm still at Filipe's house my father and mother are alive everything was just a very real and extremely dark nightmare

Then staggering a little he walked slowly down the stairs and when he reached the living room the Rainz turned to him so fast their necks almost broke.

But after looking right Marlon realized that there was not only the Rainz in the room there was also a very short and extremely pale man with a small goatee holding in his hand a piece of wood that Marlon recognized immediately.

Part 2

After a few minutes incarnating the Rainz and the man who were sitting Mr. Rainz said:

- Good morning Marlon I didn't think you'd wake up so early please sit down

Marlon went down the stairs hoping that all that was actually just a dream and that this crazy nightmare was still happening but when he sat in the armchair the man he didn't know said:

- No this is not a dream and I bet you want to know what happened right?

Marlon tried to speak but no words came out so he just nodded.

- I understand - said the man who looked quite a goat - But first I want you to tell me what you witnessed - said the man with the look that penetrated the soul of Marlon

After Marlon recounted everything he had witnessed, the man looked up at the ceiling as if admiring the large chandelier he had in the Rainz house.

But I don't understand - said Marlon - How those rays came out of that piece of wood it looked like...

"Magic," said Philip

Marlon looked at him and Filipe looked away immediately

Exactly said Marlon

- It looks like magic because it was magic - said the man

"But magic doesn't exist," said Marlon, looking desperately at Mr. and Mrs. Root hoping they would agree that Philip and the man were going crazy.

But then Philip looked at Marlon and said:

- Marlon a wizard killed his parents

- How do you know ? - asked Marlon

- Because I am - He hears a pause as if the words have caught in his throat but then he's finished the sentence

- I'm a witch and my parents and this man too

Marlon was silent as if he'd been punched in the stomach by this new information

Part 3

- Well - said the goat man - The procedure now would be to erase your memory and then put false memories for you to think it was some assailant who killed your parents but - He sighed and closed his eyes as if he didn't agree with what he was going to say - But because of the new rules imposed by the minister of muggle magic like you - Marlon was going to open his mouth to curse the man back but Filipe waved his hand for him to be quiet so the man spoke again as if nothing had happened - Now you have the option of having your mind cleared or going to a Muggle magic school.

A school of magic? - Marlon said looking too excited for someone who just lost their parents even though they are not great parents.

Yes - said the man - and as you are 13 years old, right? - Marlon nodded confirming - You better start quickly to try to make up for lost time.

But I don't understand one thing - How tro... - Marlon breathed as if gathering strength and said - As muggles like I never realized that the Rainz were wizards.

Well we tried our best to hide it from the muggles - Said the goat

- But why ? - asked Marlon

- In the past we tried to reveal ourselves to the muggles but it didn't work out very well they don't accept magic very well nor those who can do it

- Muggles can't do magic?

- They shouldn't - said the goat with an angry look at Marlon as if the boy had done something wrong.

So how well did I do that - making gestures waving an invisible wand in the air

Some Muggles in your tree and genealogical some witch or mestizo sometimes in a very abnormal situation can produce magic - said the man now standing up and looking at Marlon - Now before you leave I think you have some questions about the incident yesterday.

Marlon blushed a little he didn't feel almost any homesickness or sadness for his parents but then he gave a fake cough and said:

- Only one actually why that wizard attacked my parents?

- For no special reason after the fall of you-know-who...

-No I don't know - said Marlon but the goat just ignored him

- Many wizards have been trying to take his post as the greatest wizard of darkness. But now I have to go and I wait for your answer about the school and only you say your answer to Mr. Rainz and he will inform me via color...

- I want - said Marlon making everyone stare at him.

Okay - said the goat - You accepted this faster than I expected but everyone deals with grief in their own way. Good tomorrow I'll send you the list of what you'll need to study in Castelobruxo now goodbye marlon so like a snap the man disappeared from your front
