One-Shot Summary: Some cuddle time with Ellis and Cormac
Meredith is outside with Zola and Bailey while they run around and burn off the extra summer energy while Cormac and Ellis sit on the couch reading a bedtime story. She has her blanket and Teddy and is snuggled right up on his lap. She loves the extra one on one attention with Cormac, so often he will end up reading her stories on the nights he's at her house.
"Dr 'Mac, after the wedding, can I call you Daddy?" Ellie says.
Cormac pauses, thinking how special it is that she wants to call him Daddy. "Ellie, yes, you can call me Daddy. I am honoured that you want to call me that."
"I don't remember my dad," she says softly.
"I never met him either. Your mom or Auntie Amelia tell great stories about him. And there will always be pictures of him around the house," Cormac says.
"What will everyone else call you?" she asks.
"That is up to them. Liam and Austin call me Da or Dad. Zola and Bailey can call me Cormac, or Dr 'Mac, or Dad. It's their choice. Just like you often call your mom, momma, but Zola and Bailey call her Mom," he says reassuring her. He thinks to himself that not only should he tell Meredith Ellie's concerns, but also they should address this with the other four kids.
"And Liam and Austin call Momma Meredith," she states snuggling back down.
"Yes, sweetie, if they want to," he says placing a kiss on the top of her head and holding her tight.
