The sight of a woman eating pancakes within a restaurant caused Stargirl to smile. She remembered viewing empty streets while she was on patrol earlier. She half-expected S.T.R.I.P.E. to appear and worry about her safety. Stargirl walked to the door when she heard the sound of a bank alarm. Frowning, she used the Cosmic Staff she wielded to fly above the streets and follow the sound. Her smile returned the minute eyes were on three men running with bags of cash.
Stargirl aimed the Cosmic Staff at the bank robbers. She viewed them looking back for a few moments. Their matching frowns. Three energy blasts were released from the Cosmic Staff. Scowling, she watched as the men dodged the blasts. The men ran around a corner before she paused.
Sirens were why Stargirl's smile came back.
''I'll let the cops capture the crooks.''
Stargirl started to fly to the restaurant. Her eyes flew open as soon as she looked into the dark and empty place. Her scowl came back.
Barren streets. Empty restaurants.
