Two different young girls-one orphaned at a young age, the other born to be a hunter. Both were raised in two different worlds, and became the best of friends, never knowing that they'd one day be the worst of enemies. Are the destinies of Carmina and Selena to remain unchanged, or does fate have another idea?

1. Bonds never fade

Ronald: Ah, I know all about this tale more than you know about the story of a Fox and a Hound. Funny thing is that friendship is the main focus of what I'm about to tell you just the same as the other story.(chuckles until he hears something)Uh oh, that doesn't sound good. For you see, as much as friendship is a strong trait, hate can be just as potent!(singing)Still, if we can get along just as we can fight each other... Then why do the fates tell us the line isn't broader? Well, I say that's a pack of lies, and people can still care... For. Our. Bonds never fade, they all stay the same. Even if we fall together... We will not bend, even if it's the end.

(A woman puts down a baby in a basket, runs off, and a loud gunshot is heard.)

Ronald: I was only trying to lighten the mood a little. Geez.(Notices the baby, as does another person)

Shauna 'Big Mama' Peterson: You poor little fella. It's all right. Big Mama's here. You know? You're gonna need some caring for. Now… now let's see darlin'.(realizes that she'll have to...)Oh, James ain't gonna like this. But what do I care anyway, right? He'll understand, right?(She knocks on the door, hoping her husband will understand)

James Peterson(from inside): Who is it?

Shauna 'Big Mama' Peterson: James, you know who it is.

James Peterson: Yeah? Well, I don't recall asking to adopt a child!

Shauna 'Big Mama' Peterson: Well, you're just going to have to suck it up! After all, this girl's real mother got caught up in the thing that always makes the news.

James Peterson: Blood for Blood... Fine, Selena's okay to stay.

Ronald: Hmm, Selena does sound like a good name. Meanwhile, in a neighboring abode, another man was returning home.

Randall Briggan: Martha?

Martha: Yes sir?

Randall Briggan: The stork's having it pretty good with us today, my dear. Carmina's going to be our latest addition in this game of survival, you know?

Martha: Yes, but...

Randall Briggan: You may as well get used to him, Martha. She's for you to look after from now on.

Martha: If you insist...

Ronald: Well, Martha and James clearly had no choice. And as the days rolled on, James got used to a new addition in the family, though Selena had much to learn on the farm. But one day, things started changing...
