His eyes blurred in and out of focus as his thoughts began to run back to him. Like an episode on repeat he felt the swaying in his mind. A dance, Going through each step. Steady legs. Don't throw up. Breathe in, breathe out, Take control. Release hands. Don't wander. Pull your mind back. Breath in.
People he didn't imideately reconigze moved around him. Words being shouted in a language he didn't know. Breathe out. More doctors, Stabbing? No, poking? Needles. Tests? Hydra? No, … Mission statements.
Everything flashed before him, thoughts? Memories? Words? Hallucinations? He couldn't make any of it out. More words? Someone speaking? Yes, No! No! not again. Take control! Take control. Breathe in.
Hands releasing, Muscles burning. Words Gasping. Drop shoulders. Breathe out. Focus, Focus! Breathe in.
"Your name?" Words? He lifted his eyes to the woman in front of him. Her dark eyes made contact with his Blue ones. They held each gaze for a long moment. Words? She wanted words back. Searching, deeper. Knowing. Throat tearing. Mouth opening. Look away, Look away!
"My name is James…" revolt, testifying, rejecting, fear for what was to come.
"Good" the woman smiled knowingly and all faded to black.
The rain poured all around you as your arm was draped over Tony. You choked and coughed as blood spilled from your mouth. Tony tried strapping you in as others lifted your legs to strap you into the helicopter. A blind hot pain rushed all over your body as you reached for Tony.
A desperate look to his motions as he took your hand in his.
"I… I can't fix you…" He let go of your hand then reached for it again. "Not this time." He gave you a look that explained all to much of what was happening. He looked away from you. Every year he had lived now etched onto the lines of his face.
The helicopter began to whirl into life, Your heart began to race as you felt every nerve in your body cry out against all that had been done to you. Every fiber of who you were was trying to abandon itself and the pain was so much that no noise ever came. The rain that had quickly soaked your skin left you feeling cold and sick.
As you felt the helicopter take lift you took a deep breath and gave Tony a hard look. You opened your mouth to speak but no words ever came out. Then blackness, with the faintest sound of rain and thunder before nothing else at all.
