Naomi and Rivers part 1
Only a few days had passed since the mass arrival in Hoja City. the Virginia Team had been most welcoming to the arrivals of both old and new friends. The girls were anxious about being around so many boys at the start but are gradually getting used to the new environment.
Naomi was not one of them. she would traverse the halls and courtyard of the Head Quarters, head on a swivel, as she kept her eyes out. Of what she saw it was mostly boys from Virginia fixing the mass of M6 heavy tanks still out of order. Some of the girls were getting to know the place better and trying to converse with the Virginia boys.
The other Americans that they rescued from the stockade were still trying to stay off their feet when they can. It wasn't to surprising of a sight, they had gone through some pretty terrible things. However this was not what Naomi was setting her sights upon. Since the Japanese teams broke the boys out of prison she was adamant on finding the one who shot her two months ago.
Rivers Pines Commander of Montana Tankery Academy's Tankery team. The two of them had, not what people would say a history, but a score. They both utilized the same exact conditions, patterns, and calibrations to see, aim, and shoot each other in combat. That shot was what stimulated Naomi's brain. She had to meet him. Properly. She needed to talk to him, figure out how he managed to take that shot. It drove her so crazy that even now her mind was ablaze with the sensation.
While most of the boys were released from any permanent medical treatment not all of them were in such good places. The two boys from Uncle Sam were still in the infirmary healing from both the broken leg and the lashing endured upon them. But Rivers was also there. He got a bad fever not long after the convoy arrived in the city. he'd been bedridden for several days now and Naomi believed that he was well enough to check himself out. that was her mission.
Naomi walked through the hallway towards the infirmary passing many of her friends and many of the Americans that were lingering by. Taking a closer look most of the Americans were covered in bandage with specific nutrient effects to help along their bodily fat recovery. Naomi sighed In her dismay, feeling sorry for the boys who suffered so much pain all on the ruse that the Japanese High schoolers succumbed to.
Standing near the doorway to the infirmary Naomi looked inside and scanned the larger area. Half the beds were occupied, which was a better scenario then other possibilities. Not far along from the doorway Naomi found her target. Rivers was shirtless sitting up legs over the bed side eyes closed in thought. He looked so skinny, so weak. His arms looked as if he couldn't pull the trigger ever again. However his face bore a sort of stubbornness to it. His eyes opened and scanned the room causing Naomi to shrink behind the wall out of sight.
After a minute she looked in again and saw Rivers taking a glass of water and a nutrition pill from a girl from St. Gloriana. Many of them volunteered to help in the infirmary until things calmed down. Rivers downed the pill and drank the water. He stood up and Naomi couldn't help a small pink hue emerge onto her face. even in his skinny state he still looked quite handsome.
Rivers adorned his remaining clothing and moved to walk out of the infirmary. Naomi began to panic and moved herself to the far end of the hall hoping to have not been seen.
Rivers had just exited the infirmary when he saw the figure of one of the Saunders girls running to the far end of the hall. He squinted and looked at her run trying to find any recognition in her appearance. His luck was shot as she moved around the corner out of sight. Rivers sighed, but still, she looked familiar to him. Maybe he saw her with her teammates one time or caught a glance of her during the transport over from Mishima. Either way nothing he could do about it now.
Naomi watched him walk down the other side of the hallway angry at herself. Why did she hide? What reason was there? All she wanted to do was talk to him and she was hiding like some school girl with a crush. Naomi's eyes widened at that. No way was it some school girl crush. Right? She wasn't some cutesy, pansy school girl, she was a proud gunner of Saunders Sensha Do team. But was that the reason boys didn't look at her that way? Alisa always held her in such high regard, but fact was that Naomi had never gotten even a letter from a boy let alone a date. People always said that any man would be a fool to not want to date a Sensha Do player. How looks can be deceiving.
Naomi sighed to herself and sulked her way outside thinking when she should try to talk to Rivers again. Hopefully, next time things would go better.
