Summary: One time Erza wrote a love letter for Lucy only for the latter to mistaken it as a breakup one.

Third person's POV
Another normal day for the mages of Fairy Tail. Everyone's busy doing their eveyday routine. Nab still standing in front of the request board. Cana, Macao, and Wakaba drinking their booze, with the former usually gulping hers from the barrel. Juvia standing behind the guild post, 'secretly' oogling at the stripper Ice Make Mage, who is currently at his 'normal' fight with the pink-haired dragon slayer. Elfman shouting about his manliness while Lisana laughs at her brother. Even Mira is at her normal everyday duty, serving foods and drinks for the guild's customers. Well, almost everything are normal, like almost.
Far from the mess of other mages, a blonde girl sits at the farthest corner of the guild. Hanging her head low while silently stifling her cry, holding a letter in hands. It was from her lover, or is she still her lover? The blonde mage was excited to open the letter that Erza gave her last night, only to read the words 'breakup', generally she did not understand the whole content of the letter but is sure that the redhead mage is breaking up with her. She didn't know what happened. All she knows is that they were happy before they parted ways last night.
"E..erza" She mumble, tears streaming down her brown eyes while clutching the letter, not minding if it'll tear apart.
"Lucy-san, is everything alright?" Wendy, who happens to pass by the blondes table in order to avoid the others, heard Lucy's sob. She's a dragon slayer, afterall.
"Wendy, E..rza.. she's.." The blonde mage struggled composing her sentence as she look at the little dragon slayer infront of her. This sight caught the eye of the silverhead barmaid.
"What about Erza-san?" the young dragon slayer ask, sitting at the chair beside the Celestial Mage. Her curiosity perked up after hearing the name of the redhead knight.
"Sh..she.." The blonde started but suddenly interrupted by the sudden movement at her other side, which is caused by Mira.
"Erza what?" The barmaid asked with knotted brow. Thinking about the possibility that something bad happened to her ex-rival.
Sighing, the blonde dry her tears before continuing what she's saying.
"She.. she gave me this" she started, waving the crumpled letter infront of the two girl.
"I thought it's a love letter but..." she paused as she feel tears started clouding her vision for the second time.
"But what?" Mira asked, getting impatient at the blonde's story.
"She's breaking up with... me" The Celestial Mage continued before bursting out. Crying her hearts out while shouting.
"She doesn't love me anymore" The two girl infront of Lucy look at each other with wide eyes and mouth agape in shock. 'Erza?! breaking up with Lucy?! I can't believe this' Mira thought remembering how the redhead look like a love sick puppy evertime she's around Lucy.
"Did you talk to her Lucy-san?" Recovering from shock, Wendy asked the blonde.
"No, not yet. I just finished reading this" Lucy said staring angrily at the letter at hand.
"You should talk to her and ask her why she suddenly wants a breakup" Mira added before excusing herself to get a cup of water for Lucy. Moments later, Mira came back putting the water infront of the blonde before sitting back at her chair. Lucy mumbled a low thanks before drinking from the cup. Feeling a little okay, she nodded.
"I'll go to her room" She said, half confident and half not.
"We'll go with you" Wendy said, standing up from her chair.
"I want to go too but there will be no one to look into the bar, I apologize Lucy. But I hope you the best and if ever she is really breaking up with you, I will break her nose for you" The silverhead barmaid said with her innocent smile.
Feeling somewhat comforted, Lucy nodded her head at the barmaid before making her way out of the guild with Wendy walking behind the her.
"Hey Lucy! Where are you going?!" Natsu shouted after seeing the blonde at the guild's door, thinking that she's on her way out for a job and did not even ask him to come.
The blonde, even though she heard Natsu, didn't even gave a glimpse to him.
"Maybe she's on period" Natsu mumble, still shock that his friend ignored him.
Meanwhile, a scarlet haired girl is currently swaying and humming inside her room. Grooving her body to a beat only herself knows. She's in a very good mood after three nights of writing a letter for the Celestial Mage. By just imagining the shock and probably the teary-eyed look of the said mage caused Erza to smile wider than her usual goofy smile.
"Anytime from now, Lucy will burst into the door and she will h--" Her singsong like monolouge was cut off after her door exploded, literally exploded.
"Who the h--" and for the second time of the day, Erza's word was stopped. Standing on her front door is a ranging Lucy with a scared Wendy behind her.
'What happened?!' the redhead mage thought
"ERZASCARLETWHOGAVEYOUTHEPERMISSIONTOBREAKUPWITHMEWITHAFREAKINGLETTER!!" Stunned at the sudden outbreak of the blonde, Erza didn't understand anything from what Lucy had said.
"What?" is the only thing that came out of her mouth.
"DON'TWHATMESCARLET!!!" again, Lucy shouted
'I thought she'll talk to Erza-san calmly, I didn't know Lucy-san is scary too' thought Wendy, regretting her decision of accompanying the blonde.
"I don't understand you Lucy, please calm down and talk slowly" The redhead said, slowly walking towards the blonde with her usual calmness.
"HOW.CAN.I.CALM.DOWN.IF.YOU.ARE.BREAKING.UP.WITH.ME?!" the blonde said, still shouting but made sure she emphasize each word of what she's saying.
"I know you're probably excited about my letter-- wait what? WHO'S BREAKING UP WITH WHO?" shout the redhead too.
"YOU" answered Lucy
"WHAT ME?!" the redhead asked, confused as to what the celestial mage is saying.
"YES YOU! ERZA FREAKING SCARLET! YOU FREAKING ASK FOR A BREAK UP USING A FREAKING LETTER" the blonde continued, waving the now crumpled, wet paper infront of the redhead's face.
"THAT'S MY LOVE LETTER" Erza said, pointing at the paper.
"YES THIS IS YOUR LET--wait what love letter?" as if on cue, her anger died down and confusion enter.
"My love letter, I spent three sleepless nights just to finish that" The redhead explained, thinking what part of her letter did she asked for a breakup.
"This is a love letter?!" Lucy asked with wide eye, not believing the knight.
"Yes, I wrote all of my feelings there for you" Erza said, slowly reaching for the crumpled letter and opened it.
"This do not state anything about me asking for a breakup Lucy" she said, eyes still scanning the letter. 'why did she misunderstand? I even wrote this in cursive with an outmost care'
"Wendy, can you help me? please find anything here that states that I'm breaking up with Lucy" Erza asked the young dragon slayer.
"Hai! Erza-san" said the young mage before reaching for the letter.
"Mmmmhh it's said that...ugh... mmhhh" Wendy struggled. She don't understand anything, it's as if she's reading one of Zeref's demon book. Slowly her head spin.
"Wendy?" the redhead asked after minutes that Wendy still looking at the letter without moving.
"Wendy" said the blonde nudging the young girl.
"I... uhh.. c-an't..." The girl slowly mumble before passing out.
"WENDY!!" both Lucy and Erza shouted as Wendy's body fall to the floor with a low thud.
"Holy Mavis! Let's bring her to the guild's infirmary before we talk" Erza said before carrying the young mage. Lucy nodded before tailing at the redhead.
"What happened to Wendy?" Mira asked Erza after the latter put the young mage to one of the infirmary's bed. Lucy on the other hand went straight to her apartment saying she needs time to process something.
"I don't know, I only asked her to read my letter to prove to Lucy that I did not asked for break up" said Erza before settling down to one of the chairs beside Wendy's bed.
"Mmmhh can I look at the letter?" Mira asked, slowly understanding the situation. She had a clue and she wants to confirm it.
Erza held out her hand holding the crumpled letter. Looking at Mira with hope. Mira open the letter and started reading, but after she saw the first word she suddenly throws the letter away from her before shouting
"A DEMON!!!"
Defeated, Erza just stare at the falling paper synchronize with Mira's falling on the floor.
"Hey Levy, have you seen Erza?" The newly arrived blonde mage asked her bestfriend after checking Wendy at the guild's infirmary and also finding Mira at the bed next to the young dragon slayer. She's been at her apartment for hours thinking about the mystery of Erza's Love/Breakup Letter. She came to a solid conclusion that she's the wrong one after she remember the time Erza told her about her almost-cursed-handwriting tyat brought the redhead mage trouble everytime, and this one's also one of those moments.
"I saw her about an hour ago leaving the guildhall, no one tried to ask her 'cause she's emitting dark aura all over her body" The bluenette said slightly shaking in fear as she remembers the dark scowl on the redhead's face.
Sighing, Lucy sat down beside Levy.
"Can you help me?" The blonde ask and her bestfriend answered with a nod.
"This is Erza's letter, I found it on the infirmary's floor. I honestly did not understand anything in here except for ' ask you for a breakup'" She continued putting the letter infront of the bluenette.
"Since you can read scripts and ancient writing, I know you can help me"
"I'll try Lu-chan" The bluenette answered in a not-so-convincing way. She already saw Erza's handwriting one time and she know that it'll be hard to decipher.
"Thanks Levy, I owe you one!" The blonde said happily giving Levy a hug.
It's been three hours since Erza left the guildhall. She's sitting on top of a hill she and Lucy always spend their free time. She's sulking, but she'll never admit it. She thinks that all of her effort had gone to waste.
"Stupid book" She mumble, remembering the book she read that said Love Letters are sweet. Is the book really at fault?"Tss" She hissed, she's really pissed at herself but the majority of blame goes to that stupid book.
"I will never ever ask Lucy for a break up, unless she's the one who wants it" she continued her monolouge oblivious to the blonde girl who's listening behind her.
"Stupid book, stupid pen" she hang her head low.
"Or maybe it's the paper that's wrong" she said that caused the blonde mage to erupt from a heartfelt laugh that caused the redhead mage to snap her head at the direction of the Celestial Mage.
"Yes it's the paper's fault" controlling her laugh, Lucy said.
Lucy slowly made her way to the redheads place, engulfing the latter into a hug.
"I'm sorry" The blonde said while Erza is still stunned, unable to formulate even a word.
"I already reread the letter and it's my fault I misunderstand the content at first" She continued, emitting the part where Levy and her took two hours 'deciphering' the letter before the former pass out from exhaustion.
"Please don't be angry" The blonde whispered, snuggling her face to the redhead's neck.
"I" Erza started, finally encircling her hands around the blonde's waist.
"I should stop writing letters" She continued, accepting the truth she's been avoiding. It's her handwriting skills thats sucks, not the pen, not the paper, and not the freaking book.
"No, I'd love to recieve more letters from you, but mmhh I suggest you should tone down on writing in cursive" the blonde said with a soft giggle sending vibration on Erza's neck causing the latter to blush hard. Damn.
"Or if you really want, you can just say everything you want to say to me" Suggested the blonde, still hugging the redhead.
"I'm sorry, I just want to make you happy" The redhead said causing Lucy to look at the former's face.
"I'm happy and you are the major reason of my happiness Erza" She said with a soft smile on her lips, brushing strands of the redhead's bangs away from her lovers face.
"With or without letters, just being with you makes me the happiest person. You are my happiness and I'm really thankful for having someone like you in my life" Erza blush even harder at the blonde's statement.
"So stop sulking about a piece of paper with ink, just kiss me and tell my lips everything you told me in that letter" The blonde said earning a wide goofy grin from the knight before capturing the former's lips.
The kiss was slow yet rough but the feelings Erza wants to convey through words were put in the kiss she's now sharing with Lucy.
"I love you" Erza said after breaking the kiss to breathe.
"I love you too, cursive writer" Lucy playfully said before pulling the redhead for another kiss.
